The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.
Chapter 107 Another Reunion
After Castiel had transported everybody else back to the bunker, Dean and Sam were left alone with Rowena who they questioned on the whereabouts of the hideaway Charlie is supposed to be stashed to. But Rowena still was vague refusing to give that information until they were all in the car on the road driving miles away from the house. The guys did insist that she give up her iphone too since it was only fair after she insisted they have to leave behind theirs in case she tried to phone her witch pal and set a trap for them. Rowena willingly agreed without a fight and took out her iphone from her handbag and to their shock took off her shoe and smashed the phone with it breaking it. "Satisfied fellas" she said as they just glanced at each other in disbelief.
Later, Sam went upstairs to get his laptop so they can find a map and location when Rowena tells them where Charlie is. All three of them then headed out the door. Sam did check one the plants on the porch on the left side and reach inside the plant with his hand stumbling around until he felt a key, the extra key Madame Bess told him about. Relieved he found it he placed it back into the plant so he can use it when they got back. They all then headed to Ava's van with Dean holding on the chain attached to Rowena's shackle dragging her around like a dog on a leash. They were both still felt the joy of the sunlight shining on them having gotten used to their being no daylight as both were squinting their eyes and holding the hands up to in front of them to block the sun.
"I tell you Sammy, it does feel so good to actually see the sun again" said Dean.
"Yeah, me too, never thought I be thrilled having the sun in my face almost blinding me" Sam said.
"Oh, yes boys, so lovely to have daylight back and such a lovely day" Rowena said sarcastically.
The guys ignored her as they went over to Ava's van while Sam looked about hoping nobody is around seeing them as they would think it strange seeing two guys dragged a woman around by a chain. Dean opened the car doors with the key Ava gave him and they first escorted Rowena in the backseat.
"Oh such gentlemen" Rowena said again in a sarcastic tone.
Then Dean got into the driver's seat and Sam the passenger's seat. Within moments they were driving off out of the driveway and into the road for their destination to find Charlie. They drove off out the neighborhood and out of the city when Rowena finally revealed the location of the hideaway which was a cabin in Bangor, Maine. Sam took out his laptop and had it plugged to a socket in the backseat and googled a map showing the directions from where they are to Bangor, Maine. They drove on for hours and hours occasionally being annoyed by Rowena's yapping and demands one time insisting they stop because she was hungry so they stopped at a diner and picked out some lunch. Dean volunteered to get the food while Sam stayed behind to watch Rowena. Another time they had to stop because Rowena had to powder her nose as she put it. Knowing she can't be seen with shackle around her neck, so they stopped the car in the middle of nowhere and Sam escorted Rowena out of the van an led her into the woods holding the chain and let her do her business behind some bushes where he couldn't see giving her some privacy while holding on to the long chain before escorting her back to the van. Then they all stopped to get some dinner at a diner. This time it was Sam's turn to go inside to pick up the food while Dean waited in the van with Rowena and all of them ate their food while the van was parked. It was very late at night when they finally arrived in Bangor, almost most of the stores were closed and the most residents would be at home in bed. Sam and Dean had taken turns driving as Dean would get tired so when they finally arrived at the cabin Sam was the one driving.
As they were driving up to the cabin in the pitch dark they say another car parked assuming it was the car that Rowena's witch pal took off in with Charlie. After parking the van, Sam and Dean got out and then opened the back door escorted Rowena out of the van as Dean grabbed a hold of the chain. Rowena was being her usual snarky self as they all headed to the cabin.
"I'm telling you for the last time Rowena, this better not be another trap" warned Dean.
"Don't worry boys, on my honor as a witch, this isn't a trap, your dear Celeste is in there right now with my dear friend Madeleine, you will have her back in your clutches in no time" she told him.
"For your sake, lets hope that's true or else if we ever catch you up with you again, we're ganking your ass" he told her sternly.
"Oh, you're so sexy when you are being threatening there, dear Dean" she said unphased by his threats as Dean just rolled is eyes.
"Come on, Dean Charlie is in there right now and we are just inches of seeing her again" urged Sam.
They were all at the door when Rowena stopped them from knocking.
"I better greet her, to let her know everything is alright" she told them.
"Very well, but don't try anything" warned Dean.
Rowena then knocked on the door calling out her friend. "Madeleine, it's me!" she yelled.
Within seconds a woman's voice was heard through the cabin door. "Rowena, is that you?" asked Madeleine. "
Yes, it's me and I'm okay but I'm not alone, I'm with two friends of mine who come to see their little friend in there" Rowena said.
"Oh, Rowena, are you sure you're alright?" asked Madeleine her voice sounding concerned.
"Yes, dear I'm fine, they didn't hurt me and I promise they're not going to hurt you, they just come for dear Celeste.
It's okay to open up the door and let us in luv. Like I said before, my dear friends here won't harm anyone" Rowena yelled through the door.
After a brief pause, the cabin front door opened up a little and once it opened up enough, Dean and Sam barged in dragging Rowena along with the chain pushing past the woman who opened the door.
"Hey, hold on there!" exclaimed the woman who opened the door.
The guys just looked about the cabin hoping to see Charlie and then the turned to face Madeleine, Rowena's fellow witch friend. She was a very tall woman who looked about in her early thirties, who had long wavy raven black hair that was almost but not quite down to her elbows where the front part was pulled back with hair combs. She was wearing a long-sleeve blue boho blouse, and a long black ankle-length lace skirt. She also had on exotic jewelry that included silver witch pentacle necklace with red crystals, pyramid pendulum earrings, a couple of crystal bracelets, ruby read lipstick and ruby red painted long nails. She had dark eyes and a nice looking face. In fact, under normal circumstances Dean would find her quite attractive, beautiful for that matter. But these were not normal circumstances as right now the only thing Dean and Sam had on their minds was to find Charlie.
"Okay, where is Charlie, you told me she was here, look sister if you done something to her I'm….." Dean cried out impatiently but Madeleine cut him off.
"Hey, wait a minute, who the hell are these two Rowena, and why do they have a chain around you, I thought you said you were okay" she asked concerned.
"I told you, I'm fine dear, the fellas here just thought they had to be cautious, that's all. But they are determined to find our little guest" Rowena explained.
"Are you sure?" asked Madeleine sensing something is wrong.
"Hey, look here honey we'll ask the questions here like where the hell is Charlie what did you do to her!" cried out Dean.
"Not to get so anxious there, Dean, Charlie is here and is alright" Rowena explained.
Then she turned to Madeleine. "Where is our dear red-head by the way Madeleine?" she asked her.
"She's in the kitchen, I told her stay in there when I heard you knocking on the door" explained Madeleine.
"Charlie, Charlie!" cried out Dean who stated heading towards the kitchen but Rowena walked up and grabbed his arm.
"Calm down Dean, she has instructions to only respond to my commands so let me call her" she said.
Dean stopped and let Rowena do what she had to. Rowena then shouted out her name. "Celeste, could you please come out here dear!"
"Her name is Charlie" reminded Dean angrily.
"Hey, she responds to Celeste now so get over it" said Rowena.
Just then, stepping out of the kitchen was Charlie herself. The guys eyes lit up in joy and heartache as they were seeing Charlie now alive and well for the first time since the last time they saw her she was dead. Charlie looked the same, with the same red-hair with a bob haircut which has grown a bit longer now. She was wearing a nice red wool long-sleeve button down shirt and some dark blue jeans and sneakers. She didn't have an expression on her face as she walked out in the room now facing Dean, Sam and Rowena.
Neither Dean nor Sam could take their eyes off Charlie with longing looks in their eyes full of emotions now running through them. A part of them looked like they were about to cry and another part looked like the wanted to jump for joy. There right in front of them was their beloved Charlie standing just several feet away from them, no longer dead and they both restrained themselves from running up and hugging her.
"Oh my God, Charlie, it really is you" Sam cried out his face full of joy.
Charlie didn't say anything just stared back.
"I mean you look great and all, gosh it' so good to see you again" he went on. "
Yeah, we really missed you kiddo, never thought we would be standing here facing you alive again" said Dean also trying to compose himself.
Charlie was still silent as she just glared back at them with no emotion on her face.
"Celeste, say hello to your dear friends here, let them know you're okay" Rowena commanded like a employer.
Charlie then just obeyed her without question.
"Hello guys, I'm okay as you can see and it's good to see you both too" she said but didn't act all that thrilled to see them.
This touched them even more getting to hear her voice but then Dean started to feel a bit skeptical again.
"Just a moment, I know we saw her throw holy water on herself and cut her arm and all to show that it was her and not some demon or shape shifter but that was on video. Now that we're facing her for real this time, I would like to check again" said Dean.
"What are you saying Dean?" asked Sam confused.
"I mean I want to be absolutely certain this is the real Charlie and the only way for me to be is checking again to see if that's really her" he told him.
"But Dean…" Sam said but Dean cut him off.
"Hey, Sam we can't afford not being extra cautious so I if you don't mind if we check again to see if she's the real Charlie" he said turning to Rowena.
Rowena just grinned not feeling bothered at all by Dean's suggestion.
"By all means boys check again, you have your holy water feel free to use it" said Rowena.
Just then Dean took out the small bottle he had in a small empty bottle of vodka he was carrying in his head and upon taking off the cap he walked up to Charlie.
"Sorry about this kiddo" he said after getting close enough to her and just splashed a little bit of water in her face.
Nothing happened as Charlie just stood there taken aback a little and then wiping her face a bit with her hands. Dean then stepped back to where Rowena was.
"Satisfied?" she asked him.
"Not yet we need to do the other test" he told her.
"Very well" Rowena replied. She then turned to Charlie.
"Dear Celeste, could you please go into the kitchen and get a knife and come back here and cut your wrist not the wrist where you cut yourself the first time but your other wrist but so lightly just enough to draw some blood dear so he can know that you're not some shape-shifter" she instructed her.
Charlie obeyed without question and she turned around walked away and went into the kitchen and a few seconds later came back in the living room and holing a small knife in one had she held out her other hand. She then rolled up her sleeve and started slightly cutting her wrist with the knife until they could see normal red blood then she stopped.
"Okay Celeste now put the knife down in the table there" Rowena commanded and Charlie obeyed and placed the small knife down on the small living room table.
Then walked back and faced Rowena.
"Now are you convinced?" asked Rowena.
Just then both Dean and Sam eyes were got bit watery as they now knew for sure that was really Charlie and before any of them knew it, they both rushed up towards her and gave her a big hug. Charlie however, didn't respond or hug them back but just stood there calmly. Dean and Sam eventually let her go and saw the calm look on her face and were both a bit hurt that she didn't share the same joy of seeing them again.
"Celeste, by all means greet your friends, they've traveled a long way just to see you dear" Rowena said in a motherly way.
"Hello guys" said Charlie still in a calm tone not looking all that thrilled or sad to see them.
"Oh, you don't know how good it is to see you and hear your voice right now, you look great by the way" said Dean who was still feeling quite emotional.
"Same here Charlie, welcome back" said Sam also emotional.
"Good to see you guys too" said Charlie despite not showing any emotions but just standing there looking at them with the same calm expression.
Dean then remembered that Charlie was still under Rowena's servitude spell which explains her less than emotional response and he turned to face Rowena.
"Okay, Rowena, now take off that hocus pocus that you got on her" he demanded.
"Very well boys, a deal is a deal" said Rowena in a cooperative tone.
Then Madeleine turned to her in disbelief.
"Rowena what are you doing?" she asked her.
"Not to worry Madeleine dear, I just made a bargain with the Winchester brothers here that I will deliver them to their beloved friend here and remove my spell in exchange of them letting me go free and I plan to keep it" she said calmly.
"But Rowena…" replied Madeleine still in disbelief over what Rowena told her but Rowena didn't give her a chance to finish her sentence.
"Now, now, don't fret, everything is going to be alright Maddy darling, the Winchesters kept their end of the bargain and I will keep mine, trust me I know what I'm doing" she told her friend but Madeleine still looked confused by all of this.
"All I need is to get the hex bag out of my handbag which I believe is still in the van" she said.
"I'll get it" replied Sam.
"Thank you so kindly luv" Rowena said trying to sound so gracious.
Sam then walked towards the front door and left the cabin heading for the van as the others remained inside.
"This better work Rowena and not be another trick for your sake" Dean had to warn her again.
"No, no dear I assure you this isn't another trick" said Rowena coyly.
Less than a minute Sam returned to the cabin with the handbag he was carrying and went over to Rowena and handed her the handbag.
"Thanks dearly" she said slyly but Sam didn't respond.
Then she took the bag and stumbled through it until she pulled out the hex bag. "Now, I will remove the servitude spell" said Rowena.
"But Rowena" Madeleine tried to say something but Rowena stopped her again.
"It's alright Madeleine, once I remove the spell from Celeste here, I'll hand her back to the boys here and we will be on our way, so don't fret" she told her friend.
Madeleine then just stayed silent. Then Rowena holding the handbag called to Charlie.
"Celeste, come to me dear" she commanded her and with that Charlie obeyed walking over to her until she was just several inches from her facing her.
"Now hold out your hand" Rowena commanded and Charlie once again obeyed.
As she was holding her hand out to Rowena, Rowena placed the hex bag into her hand then with her other hand she pulled Charlie's fingers on the hex bag making sure she had grip on it. Then Rowena starting chanting some words in Latin that nobody understood. She chanted several words like she was speaking in a full sentence instead. Charlie just stood there expressionless not moving a muscle. Finally, Rowena stopped chanting and removed the hex bag from Charlie's grip and placed it back into her handbag.
"Okay, the spell is officially removed" she told the guys.
Then Charlie just started blinking her eyes a bit and gave a look as if she just woke up from a slumber.
"What the hell?" was the first thing she said with a bit of a confused look on her face.
"Charlie, are you okay?" asked Dean concerned.
"Yes, I just feel like I just woke from a dream" she said still a bit confused.
"Are you really you again Charlie?" asked Sam.
"Well, if you need me to demonstrate, Celeste run and grab the knife on the table and stab Dean" Rowena commanded.
"What?" asked Charlie looking confused and shocked.
"Rowena what the hell are you doing?" demanded Dean.
Rowena not answering Dean just kept looking at Charlie.
"Like I said, I order you to run and grab that knife on the table and stab Dean right in the heart" she ordered her.
But Charlie still just appeared dazed by everything.
"No way, are you crazy" she replied still shocked by what she heard.
"Hey, Rowena what are you trying to pull?" Sam demanded.
"Don't you see you fools, I was merely trying to demonstrate that your precious gal buddy, here is no longer under my spell. If she was, she would have obeyed me without question but as you see she didn't meaning she is free from my control" Rowena answered.
"Oh my, I remember everything. I was working with you following your every commands like a slave, doing whatever you wanted" replied Charlie with still a look of disbelief.
Dean was the first to turn to Charlie.
"We know, kiddo but it wasn't your fault, you were under her mojo making you do all those things" he told her.
"And your free now Charlie, she no longer controls you, you're you again" Sam chimed in.
Charlie still had a look of daze and disbelief in her face as she clapse her hands together out of excitement then she turned to the guys.
"Oh god, if I hadn't said it yet, I have to say it now, it's so great to see you two again bitches" she replied with a look of joy in her face.
"Back at you kiddo" said Dean.
With that, Charlie ran up to both Sam and Dean and they engaged in a group hug.
"I missed you guys so much" she said.
"We missed you too Charlie" said Sam
"Same here" replied Dean as they all continued hugging each other as they all looked like they were about to cry any minute.
Their hug was quite long as they were so caught up in their emotional moment, none of them had noticed Rowena nodding to Madeleine, who on cue walked off and headed into one of the rooms. They finally stopped hugging to catch some air.
"Ahh, such a happy reunion and to think I brought you all together again" said Rowena slyly.
"Hey, where's your witch sidekick?" asked Dean suspiciously .
Just then Madeleine returned to the living room holding a notebook.
"Relax, we aren't trying to pull a fast one if that's what your worried about. No, now that are deal has been made me and Madeleine, will just be going on our way" she replied.
"No, wait a minute she has the notebook, I remember I decoded some of the spells from the Book of Damned in that notebook" Charlie cried out.
"Yes, well you fellas have the Book, that should be enough for you, no need to deny me a few spells for protection" said Rowena.
"Not so fast Rowena, we can't let you go with that notebook, if it has spells from that Book, it's far too dangerous" cried out Sam.
"Well Sammy dear, you didn't have a problem of me using a spell from that Book when it came to helping your brother here, so I what if I have a few spells that could help me little, besides I didn't agree to give up any spells just hand over your red-headed little gal pal here which I did, now as far as I'm concerned, I followed my end of the bargain so we will be leaving now" she told him.
Both Dean and Sam stepped forward a little.
"Rowena, there is no way we can just let you go with that so you might as well hand it over" Dean demanded.
"Or what, what are you going to do?" asked Rowena defiantly. "As you remember, you are not armed, I made you give up your guns and I may be powerless with these chains around me but Madeleine here isn't and she is almost as powerful as me and one false move from either you fellas, she will send you flying across the room just like that" she reminded them while Madeleine just glanced at them with an expression daring them to tempt her.
Dean and Sam just stood there with awkward looks on their faces as they remembered that they don't have their witch-killing bullet carrying guns and that she was right, they are completely powerless against Madeleine if not Rowena and there is really nothing they can do to stop either of them.
Rowena turned to her friend and said, "Madeleine darling, do you mind?" she asked her.
"No not at all Rowena" Madeleine said and with that she waved her hands up chanted some words and before either of them knew it, blue rays flow out of from Madeleine's hand and into the chain shack around Rowena's neck.
Within seconds, the shack opened and fell from Rowena's neck and Rowena was now free from the chains that kept her powerless. Dean, Sam and Charlie just stood there helpless now realizing they're were now at the mercy of the two powerful witches.
"Awe, there now, that is more like it. I feel like my old self again" said Rowena as she rub her neck a bit and moved her head back and forth a couple of times.
"Oh snap" cried Charlie nervously.
"Now, now don't worry dears, I'm not going to use my powers against you if you don't provoke me. No not at all. Me and Madeleine are just going to vacant this place now. I will say it was a pleasant time fellas. And Celeste, I am going to miss you darling, I enjoyed our times together with you as my assistant, it was fun but the fun can't last forever, so auf wai everybody" said Rowena waving them goodbye.
She turned to Madeleine again and said, "Come Madeleine".
Madeleine obeyed and the two of them turned headed for the front door and exit the cabin. After they left, Dean and Sam ran to the front door, opened it and standing at the doorway they watched as Rowena and Madeline ran to the other car and got in with Rowena in the passenger seat and Madeleine in the driver's seat and within moments, they started the car and drove off. The last they saw it, the car was driving down the dirt road and out of their sight into the dark night.
"Son of a bitch" was all Dean could say as they both knew they weren't able to stop them, not two powerful witches who could take them down if they tried to.
Later, in the cabin Dean and Sam were getting acquainted with Charlie again who didn't care about Rowena getting away with the notebook but only cared about being free from her control and that she is back with the Winchesters again. They each shared stories about what the other been through. Dean and Sam told Charlie more about the Darkness and how Rowena casting the spell to remove the Mark from Dean unleashed it. They also told her about their time in the alternate world, meeting Ava, Gwen and Madame Bess, about their half-brother Adam and reuniting with him again, tracking Rowena down to get the Book back from her. Their plan for Rowena to cast another spell from the Book to put the Mark back on Dean so he could transfer it to Lucifer who was roaming earth if they could find him. Rowena tricking them and transporting Dean and Ava to the Underworld and Sam and Gwen inside a painting and keeping Madame Bess as another servant under her spell.
Charlie even remembered Madame Bess and what she made both of them do under her control. Even though it wasn't her fault, she couldn't help feeling guilty about the time she was helping her as a slave while Dean and Sam thought she was still dead. She told the guys about everything that happened to her after Rowena brought her back from the dead and what Rowena had her do.
"I feel terrible you guys thought I was dead this whole time, when I was off traveling with Rowena like her personal slave, doing whatever she told me" she said.
"Hey, Charlie, like we told you before, it's not your fault, you were under her control, you couldn't help yourself" said Sam. "
Yes, Sam's right kiddo, Rowena used some mojo on you and made you her puppet, but you're free from her now that's all that matters" Dean reminded her.
Charlie smiled flattered by Dean and Sam's words.
"Right now, I'm just glad I'm no longer under her control and to see you guys again" she told them.
"Believe us so are we" said Sam. Then Charlie's smiled dimmed from her face.
"But, I hate the fact Rowena got away and with the notebook which I helped decode some of the smells from that damned book" she told them now upset again.
"Well, don't worry about that right now. We will eventually find Rowena someday and when we do we will gank her for real and destroy that notebook. We'll stop her from any dangerous plan she's up to" said Dean.
"But what do we do right now?" asked Charlie.
"Right now, we get some shut eye because it's too late to drive back now and we're all exhausted.
Then in the morning, we head back to Madame Bess's house to get our stuff we're off back to the bunker. By the way, Charlie, we want to let you know that you got a home at the bunker if you want it. Me and Sam had discussed it and we decided that you're welcomed to stay at the bunker with us as long as you like" he told her.
"Really?" asked Charlie who seemed touched by the suggestion.
"Really Charlie, you'll never had to leave if you don't want to" Sam added.
"But what if I do want to leave someday?" asked Charlie.
"Then all you have to know is that that you have a home at the bunker whenever you decide to return for however long, even permanently if you want" Sam said.
"Oh my, you guys, I don't know what to say" replied Charlie who was still quite touched by their words.
"It's not much to say, you're family us Charlie and we just wanted to let you know that, I mean, we feel responsible for what happened and all" Dean said.
"Guys, I told you before that it wasn't your fault, I wanted to help, you two are like my brothers, you are also like family to me" she said.
"Then it's settled then" said Dean. "
You two are the best, I now I said it before but it's great seeing you guys again, I will always be grateful you came for me" said Charlie.
"Well it's been said before that the feeling is mutual" said Sam.
"Yeah, welcome back Charlie" replied Dean.
Charlie smiled again looking like she was about to cry.
"Okay, enough with all this mushy stuff, now let's just get some shut eye alright guys" said Dean.
Then three of them decided to retire for the remainder of the night at the cabin. Charlie showed Sam and Dean one of the bedrooms while Charlie headed to the bedroom she had been sleeping in since she got there. Then all of them got into there beds and went to sleep. It took a while for Dean or Sam to finally go to sleep as they had been still excited about seeing Charlie again and couldn't stop thinking about it. Before drifting off to sleep, the only thing the two of them cared about was that they had Charlie back and nothing else mattered at that moment. And now that they finally got her back, they had no intention on losing her again. Not ever.
