The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.
Chapter 108 A Welcome Back Home
The next morning, the trio got up very early. Charlie packed some the clothes she had in a backpack and soon they were all off in Ava's van ready to head back to Minnesota to Madame Bess's house. The guys wanted to phone Cas and the others to let them know that they found Charlie and where they're headed but Rowena had made them leave their iphones at Madame Bess's house and Charlie didn't have an iphone either so, neither of them had any choice but to wait until they get back to the house to phone them. They hoped they all were doing well which he didn't doubt they were doing better them they were spending the night at the bunker with the others which is full of rooms while they had to all sleep in the 2-bedroom cabin, Dean and Sam had to share a bed again which they hated.
Anyway, they weren't going to dwell on that, just happy that they're all okay and will see them in no time. The most important thing for them was they have Charlie back and couldn't wait to get her back to the bunker where she will meet the others especially Adam and will be welcomed to stay with them as long as she likes. They were curious about how Adam is going to take that news but hopefully whatever discomfort he'll have he will eventually get over especially once he gets to know Charlie and will learn to love her as they do.
They drove on the road as Charlie gave them the lowdown on what adventures she'd been through as Rowena's slave and they told her more about some of the stuff they went through and about their long-lost half brother Adam, their new friends Madame Bess, her granddaughter Gwen, and Ava and their own adventures they shared with them. Charlie couldn't help but notice they way they described Ava and Gwen and sensed something more was going on with them and these two women. Both Dean and Sam denied it of course when she pressed it both looking awkward which seemed to arouse Charlie's curiosity even more although she eventually dropped it since she wasn't getting anywhere but she had her own idea about what was going on. After over an hour of driving, the three stopped at a diner to get some breakfast as Charlie insisted since she was starving.
After eating their breakfast at the diner, they all were back in the van on the road again. They drove for hours and hours until they finally made it back to Madame Bess's house which was which was in late in the afternoon. They parked in the driveway and got out of the van all so relieved to be back and a bit tired from all that driving.
"Nice house" replied Charlie as she glared at the house and didn't really know what to say as that was the only thing she could think of right now.
"Yeah, I'm just relieved to finally back, it took us like forever" replied Dean.
"So now what?" asked Charlie.
"Now we go inside, get our things and phone Cas to let him know we're back" Dean told her.
"I could use a bite first" said Sam who hadn't had anything since breakfast and all that driving made him hungry again.
"So can I" said Charlie.
"Hey now, we can get a bite once we're back at the bunker, I not to sure about raiding Madame Bess's fridge" Dean said.
Sam kind of smirked. "Funny, normally it would be you who would want to raid the fridge and I would insist we wait until we get back home out of consideration" he replied.
"Yes, the roles are reversed now, kind of scary I'm starting to think like you" said Dean with a smirk as Sam slightly laughed.
"Ok bitches, lets just get inside already" said Charlie although she was smiling too.
They all then headed to the front door and Sam took out the spare key from his jean pocket and used it to open the door and soon all three of them entered the house as Sam put the key back in his pants pocket. Dean just sighed and turned to Sam.
"Okay, I guess I'll phone Cas now, you two can get some juice in the kitchen but that's all" said Dean.
"Yeah, I could use a drink" said Charlie.
"Okay come on Charlie" said Sam turning to Charlie and leading her into the kitchen.
Dean then entered the living room where he found the iphones still laying on the living room coffee table. He picked up his phone and quickly dialed for Cas. After a couple of rings, Castiel answered.
"Hello Dean?" he said.
"Hey, Cas, I just wanted to let you know we're back at the house, we got Charlie and she's fine and all" he said.
"What about the spell?" asked Castiel.
"Yeah, we made Rowena remove the spell and now Charlie is back to her old normal self again" said Dean.
"That's great" said Castiel.
"However, Rowena and her sidekick got away along with a notebook that contains some spells from the book" Dean said.
"That's not so great, what do you want to do about it?" asked Castiel.
"Nothing right now, the only thing we're interested in doing is getting back to the bunker, we'll track Rowena down eventually" said Dean.
"I hope" replied Castiel.
"By the way, I want to ask how is it going at the bunker, everybody doing okay?" asked Dean. "
They're doing what is expected, which is quite good under the circumstances. Adam made them feel welcomed and showed your guests around. They even spent the night in the extra rooms but they are quite worried not hearing from you guys" he said.
"Well, I'm sorry about that but least there are doing fine, what are they doing right now? asked Dean.
"They are not here right now, your guests got tired being cooped up in the bunker so Adam agreed to take them out and show them around the town to get some fresh air which was exactly 53 minutes ago" said Castiel.
"Gosh, you are great timer Cas, anyway that's good, I just wanted to check in and let you know we're all okay, we got Charlie back and that's all that matters to us right now" said Dean.
"I'm glad you are all right and hope you get back here soon Dean" said Castiel.
"Well, about that Cas, we, you know, having been driving since early this morning and just to get back to the house and both are a bit exhausted and I just wanted to ask you a favor" Dean said.
"Anything Dean, what is it?" asked Castiel.
Sam and Charlie were coming out of the kitchen after getting some juice and Charlie even grabbed an apple to eat as a snack as she was a bit hungry too from all that driving. Dean got off his iphone after talking to Castiel.
"Dean did you reach Cas?" asked Sam as he and Charlie headed into the living room.
Dean turned to them and nodded his head.
"Yeah, and he said the others are doing okay considering, in fact Adam took them all some kind of tour in town just to get them out of the bunker since they were cooped up there all day yesterday and today" he told him.
"Well, just as long as they're doing okay. I guess we should get our things and get going and head back there ourselves" said Sam.
"Yeah about that" replied Dean looking a bit sheepish.
"Yeah what?" asked Sam curious.
Within moments Castiel appeared in the living room right before their very eyes causing Charlie to jump a bit in surprise.
"Woah" was all she could say with a shock look on her face.
"Castiel would are you doing here?" asked Sam confused.
"Dean asked me to come over here for a favor" replied Castiel.
"A favor, what favor?" asked Sam.
Before Castiel had a chance to answer, Charlie walked up to him still in amazement.
"Oh snap, did you just zapped in room like teleported? Oh, that is so amazing" she exclaimed as she glared at him.
Castiel acknowledging Charlie's presence glared at her back.
"Hello, Charlie it is good to see you again alive and doing well" he told her.
"It's good to see you too there" said Charlie who then gave him a light punch in the shoulder only this time, it kind of hurt her fist as his shoulder felt like steel. Charlie squirmed a bit from the pain and rubbed her knuckles a bit.
"Wow, you feel different" she said.
"I got my broken wings restored again, which his why I can teleport as you call it" said Castiel.
"Well, cool" said Charlie.
Castiel then had a bit of a guilty look on his face. "I always kind of felt responsible to what happened to you, I mean, you were on my watch when you were disposed of" he told her.
"Hey, no it wasn't your fault at all, I mean I chose to leave that building on my own and go to that motel. I should have known that I was safer where I was with you and Rowena, but I felt I had to get away from her at that moment. It's not on you at all" she told him.
"Nice of you to say that" said Castiel who felt a little bit better.
"Well, it's the truth" said Charlie.
"She's right Cas, don't beat yourself up about it, its over now and the important thing is we got are Charlie here back and we're not planning on losing her again" said Dean.
"Well, I don't plan on losing you guys either" she told him.
"Anyway, Castiel, what exactly is this favor Dean asked you?" asked Sam who was still curious about Castiel's arrival.
"Dean wants me to transport you all you back to the bunker" Castiel said.
"What?" replied Sam.
"Yeah, I told him we were beefed from all that driving so I asked him if he could just get us back to the bunker now that he has his wings back and all" said Dean.
"But how can you do that?" asked Charlie still a bit amazed.
"You'll see" was all Dean said.
Later, Dean and Sam got all their things together and along with Charlie and Castiel, headed out of the front door. Sam exited last and after shutting the door, he took the spare key he still had and placed it back where he found it inside the plant and followed the others. Dean, Sam and Charlie got into the Impala while Castiel walked over to the front of the car. Charlie who was in the backseat still looked a bit confused seeing Castiel in front of the car and not understanding what was happening.
"What's going on guys, what exactly is he going to do?" she asked them.
"Just you wait and see" said Dean with a grin.
"Yeah, that's what you all keep saying, I guess I have to" said Charlie not satisfied with that answer.
Just then Castiel places both his hands on the hood of the car and the next thing they knew, they were no longer in Madame's Bess driveway but now back in the familiar looking garage of the bunker. Charlie just looked out the backseat window in amazement of what she saw.
"Woah, what just happened guys?" she asked still shocked.
"Cas just brought us back" replied Dean.
"Oh, that was so awesome" said Charlie as they all opened their doors and got out of the car.
"Yeah, Cas could be our own personal cab if we don't feeling like driving so long" said Dean in a teasing tone as Castiel who heard him just gave him the "Yeah right" look.
"Gosh, I missed being back at this place" said Charlie as they began walking around the garage.
"Yeah, now this is your own home sweet home" said Dean.
They all exited from the garage and in no time found themselves in the library area of the bunker. They expected to be there alone since Adam the others were out but soon were in for a shock when they found that the others were all in the room too. When the others saw them, they greeted them cheerfully as Adam went up to them first.
"Guys, I didn't expect you to be back here so soon" he told them as so thrilled to see them again.
"From what we heard we didn't expect you guys to be back yet either" said Sam.
"Well, I thought the others needed to get out of this place for awhile, being cooped up here all day can be a drag, I'll tell you, but we got back here just about five minutes ago" said Adam.
"Well, we didn't feel like driving back so Cas here sort of gave us a short cut, you can say, anyway good to see all of you, hope Adam here made you feel at home" said Dean as he gave his little brother a slap on the shoulder.
"He did and it was no trouble at all dears, just glad you boys are safely home" replied Madame Bess.
Ava rushed over to Dean and gave him a little hug and had to hold back from kissing him right then and there.
"Dean, I'm glad you back okay, I was kind of worried about leaving you with that witch, thinking she would double-cross you or something" she told him.
"Same goes here" said Gwen who reached out and hugged Sam while Charlie and Adam just watched with awkward looks on their faces.
"No, Rowena kept her end of the bargain surprisingly, but she did get away with a notebook full of some of the spells from the book" Dean told her.
"Not to fret so much, at least you boys are all okay and safely back and if I get another vision of more chaos that Rowena causes I will let you know" she said.
"We appreciate that ma'am" said Sam.
Just then Dean turned around to face Charlie realizing nobody acknowledged her presence yet who was standing behind them quiet the whole time. He then proceeded to lightly grab her arm and pull her up in front for the others to see.
"By the way guys, I all want you to meet our Charlie here" he told the others as Charlie just stood there looking a bit bashful as all eyes were now on her.
"Nice to meet you Charlie, Dean told me a lot about you" said Ava giving a friendly greeting.
"Same here, Sam also told me about you, and from what he said you were someone very important to them" said Gwen.
"We already met before when we were both under the spell of that dreadful woman, of course I didn't know the connection between you and the boys here, as you were going by the name Celeste. I kind of feel responsible in a way for not knowing who you were me being a psychic and all and me even having brief visions of you from Dean's past when I touched him one time" said Madame Bess.
"It wasn't your fault, we were both under Rowena's control and both made to be slaves to her" said Charlie.
"That's nice for you to say dear" replied Madame Bess.
"Hey, Charlie is right, it wasn't on you, you were under her spell too, so don't beat yourself over it, ma'am" said Sam.
Madame Bess felt a little better and just smiled and turned to Charlie again.
"The important thing is that the boys here got you back, and from what they told us you are like family to them so it's nice that you are all together again. I guess the only good thing that came from that woman is that she brought you back beyond the dead even if it was for selfish purposes, and I normally believe that there is never any good messing with the dead and whatever is dead should stay so as the natural order but what's done is done and you have a second chance of life and the boys here have you back in their lives again" she told her.
"Well, I so glad to be back again even under those circumstance I mean it wasn't the first time I was brought back" replied Charlie.
"Whatever do you mean?" asked Madame Bess curiously as both Ava and Gwen had the same surprised look on their faces.
Before Charlie had a chance to answer Dean in interrupted.
"Well, that's a whole another story that we will explain some other time" he said looking quite awkward.
"I'm sure" said Madame Bess with a "Here we go again" look on her face.
Then Adam walked over to Charlie to greet her himself as he had been quiet this whole time and felt it was his turn.
"Hey I know we haven't met but I'm Adam their long-lost half-brother, they told me enough about you how you were like family to them so in a way I guess that makes us family too so welcome back there" he told her giving her a light nudge on the shoulder in a friendly way.
"Yes, Dean and Sam told me enough about you too and right back at you there bro" she said in almost kidding manner as she lightly nudged in back on the shoulder too.
"As much as I'm excited for you all of you, I think we ought to be heading back to our house now that you're all back and okay and, now and that Crowley is no longer at present there" said Madame Bess as Gwen turned to her grandmother with a not to happy look on her face.
"Hey, you all don't have to go just yet" said Sam.
"Yeah, Sam is right, we wouldn't have traced Rowena it wasn't for you all's help and after everything you had to go through because of it, we at least like to reward you by staying for a while and have dinner with us" said Dean.
"That's so kind of you boys, but we can have dinner back at my house" said Madame Bess.
"Come on, we insist, you always gave us a nice dinner while we stayed at your house, let us return the favor by treating you all to dinner here, think of it as a celebration of getting our Charlie here back" said Dean.
"Please we would love it if you two stuck around at least until after dinner which should be a few hours" said Sam.
"Come on grandmom we can least stay until the evening you can take a break from having to fix dinner this once" said Gwen eagerly as she wanted to have some more time with Sam.
"You know I'm up for it, I can stick around a bit, don't have anything else better to do at this moment" said Ava.
"Great, what about you guys?" asked Dean who was glad that Ava would stay and was now turning to Madame Bess and Gwen.
"Please grandmom" urged Gwen.
Madame Bess just sighed in defeat. "Alright boys, you win, I guess me and Gwen can stick around a bit longer but after dinner we got to get going" she said.
"Great" said Dean thrilled that he got everybody stick around longer partly because he wanted to spend more time with Ava and also he felt he owed them all after what they had to go through for helping them and wanted to them all to share in the celebration getting back their surrogate sister Charlie.
"But what can we all do until dinner?" asked Madame Bess.
"Well, I know Adam showed you around our little batcave here, there is plenty we can all do to pass the time" said Sam.
"I can tell you guys all the stories I have about Dean and Sam here" replied Charlie.
"Oh, I would love to here that" said Ava curiously.
"Me too" said Gwen with the same look as both Dean and Sam looked a bit awkward not knowing whether to feel glad or embarrassed of what she's got to say.
Charlie then turned to Dean and Sam.
"You know when I finally got back to this place, I never imagined it would feel like a party" she told them smiling.
"Well, having you back again feels just like that, a party" said Dean as he put his arm around her.
"Yeah, once again welcome back Charlie" said Sam as he too put his around her around her as they all felt like a family complete.
