The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.
Chapter 112 Just Another Good Day and A Twist
It was the start of another day that next morning and everything was all merry. All four of the gang all got up and ate breakfast and then afterwards with Charlie reminding everyone about going fishing, they all soon grabbed the fishing gear and headed out of the bunker. They drove into town to pick up an extra fishing rod for Charlie and then they drove out to the lake. Now all four of them were at the lake with their fishing rods waiting patiently to catch a fish but it was quite tiresome at times. It had been almost an hour and so far and nobody had caught anything. The only good thing about this time was that they were the only people out there since they didn't really want a crowd around anyway and they were spending time with each other like a family of siblings. The three brothers and the surrogate sister.
During the middle of their fishing, Sam took out his iphone to look at his text with one hand while holding the rod in his other hand. Charlie who was standing right next to him, was the first to notice as she turned to him.
"Got a text there do you, I wonder who it is from?" Charlie asked a bit slyly as she already knew the answer.
Sam quickly turned to her a bit embarrassed. "Never you mind now, just going to answer real quick and then get back to fishing" he told her as he started to answer the text with only one had with some difficulty.
"Let me guess, I bet it from your little girlfriend, Gwen is her name I remember?" Charlie replied teasingly.
"Oh, Shut up" replied Sam as he kept responding to his text.
"Oh, Come, on Sammy, just tell your little lady love you'll call her back later and get back to fishing which is what we came to do" replied Dean also in a teasing way.
"Oh, knock it off you guys, just give me a moment" Sam said.
"So how often have you talked to her since, I mean know you were talking to her yesterday, I heard you talking to her in your room before we left for our little joy ride, also in your bedroom late at night" said Charlie with smirk.
Sam just turned to her with another embarrassed look as if he was caught red-handed doing something naughty.
"What, you mean you were eavesdropping" he said accusingly.
"No, I was not, I just happened to walk to your bedroom door to knock on it to remind you we were all about to go on our little outing when I couldn't help overhear you talking to a Gwen. I didn't want to interrupt you, so I just went back downstairs to wait for you instead. As for late that night, I had to use the bathroom and while I was walking pass your door, I could slightly hear you talking again to someone who I assumed was your little girlfriend Gwen" she explained.
"Oh, great" said Sam who was still as bit an embarrassed over Charlie overhearing him.
"Oh, don't fret Sam, it's not that nobody here doesn't know how lovy dovy you are about your main squeeze and all" said Dean in a teasingly big brother way as Sam just gave him an annoyed look.
"Hey, well I'm pretty sure you're also chatting up your little main squeeze during the times you were in your room alone" said Charlie now turning to Dean.
Dean just gave an awkward look on his face now as Sam just smirked.
"I wouldn't call Ava my main squeeze or anything" he said.
"Oh, come on now Dean everybody knows how hot to trot you have for Ava" Sam said in a teasingly manner.
"Shut up" Dean replied back.
"Hey, guys what's the big deal, at least you two have hot babes, I had to lose mine" said Adam who had been quiet all this time.
"Your baby brother here is right, I mean why don't you guys just cut the bull already and admit you dig these two chicks, but now the question is what are you guys going to do about it" said Charlie tying to sound logical.
"Yeah guys I'm wondering that myself" replied Adam.
Both Dean and Sam just squirmed a bit not knowing how to respond to that.
"Hey look, I thought we came out here to fish no chat about our love lives" replied Dean not wanting to answer Charlie's question then he turned to Sam.
"Yo Sam, put the phone away your can text your sweetheart later, let's get back to fishing alright" he told him.
Sam just finished his text and put his iphone back in his pocket and nodded to Dean. "Right" he replied.
Charlie just rolled her eyes. "Oh brother, always avoiding the topic, but you can't avoid this forever, and one day we will all sit down and talk about it I can guarantee you of that" she said smirking.
"Yeah, we can't hardly wait" replied Dean sarcastically.
The subject matter regarding the women seemed to be dropped as they continued on with their fishing. Time passed on some more and they all got frustrated about haven't caught anything yet then suddenly Charlie started yelping in excitement as she tugged on her fishing rod.
"Oh, oh, wait I think I caught something!" she yelled out.
"You did, just hold on kiddo pulled it up" replied Dean watching on amazed.
Charlie kept pulling it up as she held on to the fishing rod and finally she lifted a wiggling fish.
"Hey, I caught one" she exclaimed all excited.
"Perfect" cried out Dean.
"Yeah cool" Adam followed.
Dean and Sam both helped her with the fish as she continued to gloat at being the one to catch a fish first before everybody else. After putting the fish in the box, they all continued on with their fishing while just chatting each other over about anything except the Gwen and Ava, or Rowena as they just wanted to talk about normal things and Charlie was ranting on all about the things they could do like go the Grand Canyon, visit California or Disneyland which is what she always wanted to do, She had already visited Las Vegas and Los Angeles even Hollywood and talked about some of the celebrities she saw there which amazed the brothers. After a long while, they all had enough fishing and decided to stop and leave despite nobody else other than Charlie had caught anything.
As they were headed back to the Impala Dean griped to Sam, "Can't believe we didn't catch a damn thing while a Charlie who never been fishing before caught one".
Charlie who overheard what he said just kept gloating. "Yeah, thank god for girl power" she remarked to them as Dean just gave her an annoyed look.
"Cheer up Dean, the important thing is we all had a good time, the four of us, I know I did" said Sam being all reassuring.
Dean's expression softened a bit. "Yeah me too" he said.
"Hey, I know I did especially since I got to catch a fish" Charlie replied back still gloating.
Alright, alright we all had a good time, I'm bushed anyway just want to get back to the bunker and relax" said Adam.
Soon they were all in the Impala driving back to the bunker. When the headed home, Adam did as he said and retired to his room to relax for a while reading a book from the library on interesting spells, while Dean and Sam just relaxed in a room as Dean watch some TV after putting the fish that Charlie caught away. Charlie herself decided to retire to her room as well for a while.
Shortly afterwards Castiel dropped in on them checking up on them to see how they're were doing since returning to the bunker and now with Charlie back. He had even called them the day before to see if they were alright but didn't show up in order to get them some time alone with their Charlie and Adam, but today he felt like dropping in. The guys greeted him and let him hang for a while. Both Adam and Charlie came out of their rooms to greet the angel and enjoy his company. Castiel didn't stay too long as he told them he still had to figure out what his purpose for remaining on earth was that God had mentioned which would lead him to wander around the world some but he will show up from time to time and if they ever need him he will be there then he left.
The evening came and Charlie suggested they go out again with Adam agreeing to her until the guys relented and they drove out of town to a restaurant for dinner then returned to the bunker. Then later that night, the four of them played a game of cards to for a while before it got too late and decided to retire for bed. Adam and Charlie retired to bed first while Dean and Sam remained in the main room for a while putting the cards away.
Dean just sighed. "What a day, I'm surprised Charlie didn't suggest we go to the Grand Canyon or something tomorrow" he said to Sam.
"Hey, come on, Charlie just excited about being back and free from Rowena, that's all, I don't see any reason we can take her out once and while and show her a good time. Besides I think it's good for all for us too" Sam replied.
"Yeah, I know, you know she and Adam are dying for a ps4 video games, maybe I'll get it for them so they can amuse themselves so we don't have to worry about always taking them out so much.
"Yeah, I would love to see the two them gaming together, wonder who would win" Sam replied.
"Charlie likely beat him knowing her" Dean said as Sam nodded.
Dean and Sam eventually retired to bed too and soon the night was silent. Then later at 2am in the morning, Charlie was woken up by an alarm of her watch. She sat up in her bed and turned the alarm of her watch off. Then she got up from her bed and opened the door and peeked out looking both ways. She didn't see or hear anything as it and the hall was quite dark and quiet, so she shut the door and locked it and then turned on the lamps. Then she went to one of her dressers and opened the top drawer where she had her underwear and bras and reaching underneath her clothes, she pulled out an iphone that was completely hidden away. After closing her drawer, she went over to her bed and dialed a number. There was ringing and soon a click and a voice, Rowena's voice.
"Celeste how are things going?" asked Rowena.
"Everything is fine, things today went well just like yesterday" Charlie answered.
"So, the Winchesters still don't suspect a thing?" Rowena asked.
"No not all" Charlie answered.
"Perfect Celeste, just perfect" Rowena said.
Flashback
Charlie and Rowena are somewhere in a motel when the Darkness was still released and the Book of Damnned and the cordex is lying on the bed along with a notebook and pen and a laptop. Charlie had been deciphering the code with the codex with notes that she had made on her laptop. Rowena had stopped her to give her more instructions and now they were both standing facing each other.
"Celeste, I need to tell you something in order to prepare myself and you for any conflicts in the future, do you understand? she asked her.
Charlie nodded her head. "Yes, Rowena" she said like an obedient servant.
Then Rowena went on. "As you know your buddies the Winchesters won't stop pursuing me and won't give up until they track me down to get back that book and codex as you might know" she told her.
Charlie just nodded again. "Yes" she replied again.
"For that matter so will that demon of a son of mine the King of Hell if he by chance survived that dog attack I sicked on him and I get a funny feeling he did. Then he will be hunting me down determined to get his revenge" Rowena went pausing a few seconds hoping Charlie understood which she did then continued.
"But nobody knows about your still being alive, to the Winchesters you are still deader than a door nail and I make sure it remains that way. Soon I will search for dear old friends of mine hoping to recruit them for a new coven I will form, and they will help me keep you a secret" Rowena said stopping again a couple seconds then continued again.
"Here are my instructions for you Celeste. If there ever becomes trouble be it the Winchester boys, my son or any other enemies, I want you to hide away somewhere and stay hidden if it becomes dangerous, I want you to try to escape unseen. If you can do that, I then want you to head to a hideway I will have found in the future and I will have written a location and directions to where you can find this hideaway once I find one, take the directions and just go. Once you've arrived at that place, wait there and if you have not heard from me or any possible future members of my coven, I would have a list of contacts you can reach out to for help. Hopefully you would have escaped with at least some future members of my coven and plan a rescue mission if you haven't heard from me" Rowena said as Charlie just listened on to everything Rowena was saying with a blank look on her face.
"Anyway, if the Winchesters are involved in my future capture, I will have no choice but to alert them of you still being alive, me bringing you back from the dead and being under my control. From what you told me the Winchester boys will do anything to get their precious Charlie back especially since they are the ones that got you killed. They will want you back more than destroying me which is what I'm counting on. As much as you make a useful assistant to me, I will need you as leverage to assure my freedom if it comes to that.
Of course, I will have to prove I have you so I will make a call and you will follow my instructions once I do. I won't tell them of your whereabouts at first, unless they assure my release and I will offer to lead them to you just the three of us as long as they follow my terms. Once I bring them to you if that ever happens, I will pretend to remove the servitude spell that I placed on you by handing you the hex bag and ranting some mumbo jumbo that they won't understand. For your part, you will play along. Once I do this, we will trick them into believing you truly free from my spell by not obeying any commands I give you in the Winchesters' presence. Then I will make my escape hopefully. You will just be your old self, the old Charlie they know and love and nothing more, are you still with me?" she asked her.
Charlie nodded again, said 'Yes, Rowena" as Rowena went on again.
"Naturally they will want to bring you back to their place and they will take the book and the codex with them. You will agree to go with them and if you have to, ask them to let you stay with them for a while to until you figure out next what to do. Once you're at their place, you will continue to contact me on the iphone I got for you that you will hide somewhere in your room. Don't let them know you have it and make sure it's hidden well. Contact me only when you're in our room alone but make sure they are nowhere around to overhear. Once you call me, you will follow any instructions I give you do you understand?" Rowena finished.
Charlie nodded once more. "Yes, I understand" she said.
"You will remember everything I told you and never forget and if it ever comes to what I predicted, follow what I told you to the tea" Rowena directed.
"Yes, Rowena, I will" said Charlie.
Then Rowena went over and placed both her hands on Charlie's face in motherly way. That's a good girl Celeste" she said.
Then removing her hands and she went over to handbag laying on her bed, unzipping it and reached inside pulling out an old-fashioned Polaroid camera turned back to face Charlie.
"Okay now I will need to have proof of you being alive if the time ever comes so I'm going to take a couple of pictures of you. Then we will record a little video with my iphone but right now say cheese deary" said Rowena as she raised the camera to take a picture of her.
Since, Charlie had been at the bunker she has secretly kept in contact with Rowena, talking to her on the hidden iphone in her room making sure Dean, Sam or Adam are no where in ear reach even talking to her late at night when the others were all in bed. The last time she talked to Rowena she instructed her to set the alarm on the watch she's wearing that Rowena bought for her to 2am, once she woke up, make sure nobody is around near outside the bedroom door and then call her, and now she's ready for her next instructions.
"You still know where the book and the codex is Celeste?" asked Rowena.
"Yes, Rowena Dean stored them inside a curse box in the storage room" Charlie said.
"Marvelous dear, now all I need you to do is to get dressed, pack your things and quietly head to the where the book and the codex are, fetch them and place it in the little handbag I gave you, make sure you don't disturb anybody, but if anybody does by chance interrupt what you are doing, you know what to do" replied Rowena.
"Yes, Rowena I do" replied Charlie.
After getting dressed and packing her things, Charlie headed out of her bedroom quietly carrying her suitcase in one hand and a handbag in the other. She snuck through the hall making sure not to make a sound. It didn't take her long to head to where one of the storage rooms were that was holding the curse box. She slid open the storage room door and saw where the cursebox was, unlocked it and pull up the lid. Inside were some scrolls and other materials as well as the Book of Damned and codex. Charlie didn't waste anytime reaching in and take the book and codex place them in her handbag and closed the curse box back and locked it. Then she closed the door, picked up her suitcase and started heading out. She was prepared to reach the stairs when she heard a voice.
"Charlie?" She quickly turned around to see Adam who just came into the room.
"Charlie, what is going on" he asked looking confused.
He was dressing in an undershirt and jeans and was wearing his shoes without his socks as it appeared he just got up from bed.
"Adam what are you doing up?" asked Charlie looking quite awkward like she was caught with her hand in a cookie jar.
"When I can't get any sleep or I had a nightmare or something, I sometimes get up real late to get a quick snack or something to drink in the kitchen. I was just getting some crackers and a glass of juice and was heading back to bed but what are you doing and why do you have a suitcase" he asked her still confused.
"Uh, look Adam…." said Charlie awkwardly as she couldn't think of a good lie to tell him.
"Charlie are you going somewhere?" asked Adam.
"Adam…" Charlie try to say but Adam cut her off again.
"What you're leaving, just sneaking out late at night without telling any of us, I thought Dean and Sam were like your family, and we were getting along pretty well, why would you just do this just sneak off like this?" Adam asked quite angrily.
Charlie put her fingers up to her mouth to shush him. "Adam please keep your voice down" she whispered.
"Why should I, what you don't want Dean and Sam to know that you're sneaking off on them like this after everything, just when they got you back and all, I mean I may not know you that well but they consider like a sister, I think they deserve better than this. You could have at least told them to their faces, give them an explanation" Adam replied back not caring his he was too loud or not.
"Look Adam I can explain everything if you give me a chance and not wake up Dean and Sam" said Charlie desperate to not let Adam screw this up for her.
"Okay I'm listening just give me one reason why I shouldn't go and wake my brothers up right now?" Adam demanded.
"Okay, I will, I need you to look at something and you will understand" said Charlie then she set down her suitcase and reached into her handbag and pulled out what appeared to be a jewelry box.
"What the heck is that and what does it happen to do with any of this?" asked Adam still confused.
Charlie now holding the jewelry box opened it up and just said to Adam, "I'm really sorry Adam" as Adam still didn't understand.
Inside the jewelry box was appeared to be a pile of chamomile herbs and she scooped up a handful really quickly and before Adam could say anything else, she murmured the enochian words that Adam didn't understand "bah, gah, rah, doh" and opening her hand she blew a pile of chamomile into his face and within seconds Adam collapse to the floor unconscious from a sleep spell Charlie used that Rowena gave her just in case the Winchesters interfered in her mission.
Charlie just stared at Adam's unconscious body now sprang out on the floor then she looked about as if she was preparing for the others to pop out to see what was going on, but it all remained silent. Then she just closed the box and placed it back in her bag and picked up her suitcase again, turned around and preceded to head up the stairs. Then she was soon out the door and outside the bunker.
She began to walk down the dirt road in the dark night. Soon there were headlights shining on her from a car. Charlie kept walking towards the headlights until she reached what was a blue ford car and walked right to the passenger side as she looked into the car window. Right inside the car was Rowena sitting in the driver's side. During their conversations, Charlie had giving Rowena the locations of the bunker as well as directions on how to get there using her laptop and finding a map and Rowena had been in town for a while now and was waiting outside. Charlie reached to open the passenger door which was unlocked.
"You got everything?" asked Rowena turning to face her.
"Yes, I did" Charlie said.
"Did you have any trouble?" Rowena asked.
"Adam, their little brother was already up and found me leaving with my bag packed but I took care of him before he could alert Dean and Sam" she said.
"Good girl Celeste, good girl, now we should be on our way" said Rowena.
With that Charlie, opened the backseat door and placed her suitcase in the backseat along with the handbag. Then she got into the passenger seat and shut the door.
"Now with the book back in my hands, I have big plans my luv, with you at my side we can do anything" said Rowena with sly.
Then she drove off and within moments the car drove down the road in the dark night soon out of sight.
