vrskaandrea: Thank you for the review. They are really good ideas. No Sam in this one. He will be back later on. Gotta see what he is doing with Eileen ;)
Nicole Miklos: Thank you for the review. Originally Dean was going to be kept in the dark but a lot of readers want him involved so I have got a rough plan on what's going to happen him. You will have to wait and see.
Malic Malic: I see Loki as an evil Gabriel. When I wrote Loki I used some of Gabriel's personality. Some of the tricks and games might have some Gabriel vibes. Gabriel did learn from Loki after all ;). Loki is just a bit more twisted and darker compared to Gabriel. I'm glad you like how I'm writing him. It is fun writing minor characters.
SilverDragonflymoon: Thank you for the review.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have thought it through. Some of the levels are going to be a bit wacky while some are going to be full of angst as well. Loki is the Trickster and this is his Playhouse so I thought it would make sense to have some funny moments. In Supernatural every season contains at least one comedy episode lol. For those who are not a fan of filler eps this story will go back to the main storyline soon. I know story 3 is the longest story so far out of the series and I don't want people to get bored. Please stick round there are many more surprises along the way. :)
Level 1: Jack
Jack had no idea what was going on. His mind is a fog. He didn't know how he got here. His memory is a blur.
The former nephilim knew something happened. His clothes was the first sign. He is wearing a brown shirt with shorts to match. The clothes are full of rips and holes and dirt. Jack didn't remember these clothes being in the bunker. Sam wouldn't allow him to wear dirty clothes.
Jack smiles as he imagines Sam nagging him to put those clothes in the laundry. Dean did say Sam had the hair to be a housewife.
Jack started investigating. He knew one of the key things when it comes to being a hunter is knowing your surroundings. The former nephilim had to examine every detail and find anything that can be used to his advantage.
The room was small. The floor is made of wood and the walls are white. The wallpaper has faded as the years went on so the white looked more grey now.
There is a kitchen and a bedroom Jack assumed the bucket is the toilet. The former nephilim knew he is in a house. Question is whose house is it?
He picks up a picture from the table. Jack's heart almost leaped out of his chest when his eyes went on the photo.
In the photo he saw himself smiling. Next to him is his mom with her arm around him. She wore a big beaming smile and her eyes sparkled. Jack stared at her with an awestruck expression. His mom was so beautiful. Jack missed her so much. He trails his fingers along her face. Tears form in his eyes as the familiar grief rises to the surface. Jack quickly wipes away the tears and he puts the picture back on the table.
A door opens causing Jack to whip round. He grabs a candlestick and gets ready to strike.
Then Jack's stomach dropped. His eyes widen with shock.
Kelly Kline steps in with a basket of vegetables.
"Jack?" She frowns. "What are you doing?" Jack drops the candlestick. The shock remains on his face. Kelly puts the basket down on the table. "Son? You look like you seen a ghost."
Jack eyes her up and down. His mom wore a long faded yellow dress, a white apron and her hair is tied up into a bun. She also had rips and holes in her clothes. Jack frowns. Are they suppose to be poor?
The former nephilim realized this is all a trick. Kelly Kline is dead. This woman standing opposite him is not his mother. The shock vanishes and is replaced with rage.
"You're not my mom."
Kelly frowns.
"Excuse me?"
"You're not my mom!" He yelled.
"Jack." She laughs. "I am your mom."
"No!"
He steps back as she steps forward. She looked hurt by his reaction. Jack wasn't falling for it. He needed to get out of here. He needed to find the others and figure out what the Hell is going on.
"My mom is dead." Jack glared at the imposter wearing his mom's face. "Who are you?"
Kelly sighs. She looked disappointed in him.
"Just when things started to look up." She sadly shook her head. "Yesterday you got me that lovely harp. Now you are treating me like this."
Jack frowns.
"Harp?"
His mom picks up a golden harp. The former nephilim immediately felt drawn to the instrument.
"Where did you get that?"
She gave him a 'Really look'.
"Did you hit your head honey?" She frowned.
"No."
Jack rubs his head. He continued staring at the harp.
"You got it from up there." She points at the ceiling. "You climbed down with it you told me it was real gold and we would be rich. Our days of being poor would be over. We could finally have a life together. As a family." She smiles. "I will never leave your side. I love you Jack."
Those words pained him. He knew that's not his mom yet at that moment he wished it was his mom. He wished this moment between them was real.
Refusing to breakdown in front of her Jack goes to the window. He pulls the blinds and almost goes back in shock.
The outside view is blocked by a green wall. Jack reaches out and places his hand on it. His fingers curl around a leaf. He pulls at the leaf causing it to rip off.
"What is this?" He questioned out loud.
Music begun to play. A soft hum filled the air. Jack relaxes and the leaf slips out of his hand. He sways to the music and his mind spaces out. All he thought about was the enchanting music that played from the harp.
His mom turns him around. She cups his face with both of her hands.
"Jack. This harp it will not be enough. We need more. Honey you have to go back. "
"Back?" Jack looked worried. "I barely got out the first time."
"One last trip." Her eyes are wide and pleading. "One last trip that's all I'm asking. Afterwards we will cut it down and you will never have to go back up there again. " The former nephilim still looked unsure. His mom smiles. "No one will abandon you, judge you or use you. You will never be alone. I will be here. Jack if you do this I can stay here with you forever."
"Be my mom?"
She nods.
"Just do this for me." She holds his hands and gives them a gentle squeeze. "For us."
Jack surprised her by wrapping his arms around her and laying his head on her shoulder. His mom responds to the hug and wraps her arms around him. His mom's warm embrace made Jack almost tear up. He didn't want to lose his mom. Most of his family are dead. People in the village hated him. They saw him as a freak and an abomination. He remembered when one of them called Dean tried to kill him. If he can do this one last trip and bring back something valuable he and his mom will have the life they always dreamed off.
He pulls away from her and nods.
"Yes mom. I'll do it."
"I knew you would." She grinned.
After packing his bag Jack opens the door and goes outside. He smiles as the sun beams down on his face. His mom gives him a peck on the cheek and smiles at him.
"Be careful."
Jack puts the bag over his shoulder and smirks at his mom.
"Mom I'm always careful. I stay out of trouble...most of the time."
She chuckles and looks up towards the sky. She grimaced at the sight.
"It's so high." She muttered.
"I'm not scared of heights." Jack gave her a cocky grin. "It's not actually that high. It's not so bad once you start climbing it." He hugs his mom. "See you later."
She grins.
"You to."
Michael was pissed. He was more than pissed he was furious. He still couldn't connect to Dean. His worry for Dean is increasing by the minute. He knew Dean had to be somewhere in their mind when Michael tried to look he was met with a wall.
That did not help his nerves at all.
Michael knew his job was to save everyone in Loki's sick game. The archangel wished Dean can be here. So far they did everything together Michael liked having Dean by his side because Dean helped him keep a clear mind. Dean is perfectly capable of fighting alone. He and Gabriel got everyone out from the other world and Dean defeated Freddy. Michael hasn't fought without back up for a long time. He couldn't ask Dean for advice. For once Michael had to think for himself. The archangel can fight he is a warrior but recently he lost faith in himself. Michael always feared he would make a mistake. Like for example when Lucifer got away the first time, AU Michael removing Michael's grace and shoving him into another world, getting captured by the werewolves, falling into AU Naomi's trap and getting himself hit by Freddy which caused him to lose control and Dean had no choice but to take the wheel.
Dean not being here might actually be a blessing in disguise. This is Michael's chance to prove he is still the worthy hero everyone looks up to. Michael can prove to Dean he is not a liability.
The archangel chuckles as he imagines Dean yelling at him saying he is not a liability. Michael thinks how low Dean sees himself thinking everyone is more important than him. Michael shakes his head. It sometimes amazed him how similar he and Dean are.
Back to Loki's game Michael really wanted to kill that bastard. Throughout his journey Michael has come across a troll who was annoyed because Michael stepped on to his bridge. The archangel wasn't in the mood to talk so he gave the troll a kick up the ass and sent the troll flying into the water.
Next Michael had a run in with a white rabbit. The little nuisance was waving a clock in front of Michael's face and yelling he was late. Every time Michael tried to move past the fur ball would immediately jump in front of him. It eventually turned into a fight.
Archangel vs rabbit. Michael wanted to smite the little bastard but Michael is not allowed to use his powers he would be cheating and cheating is not allowed. They few punches at each other, Michael got kicked in the face by the rabbit's big foot. Then the white rabbit got the archangel by surprise when he shoved a bottle in his mouth.
Seeing the Drink Me sign across the bottle caused Michael to panic. He spat the bottle out. The bottle hit the rabbit in the face causing him to fall on his ass. Michael grabbed the clock and used it to beat the crap out of the rabbit. Once Michael was certain the rabbit was dead he tossed the broken clock to the side and he checked himself over.
He was good for now.
Yeah this journey has been Hell so far. The Pagan God was doing anything to stop Michael from reaching his goal.
The archangel started making a mental list of ways he could make Loki suffer. He looked through his vessel's memories for some ideas. Michael never knew Dean had such a violent brain. In a way Michael wasn't surprised Dean was Alastair's student.
He went through all that pain all because he had to break the first Seal. Bring you one step closer to fulfilling your destiny.
Michael cringed at that thought.
His thoughts are interrupted when he heard a twig snap. The archangel whips round and his eyes dart in all directions.
"Gabriel!"
He steps forward.
"Castiel!"
Another two steps forward.
"Jack!
A growl comes from behind him. Michael tensed by the sound. He wished he had a weapon on him right now. Before Michael could turn round something big lunges out of the bush and tackles him to the ground. The archangel grits his teeth and tries to push his attacker off him. Claws swipe across his face. Michael blocks the attack. He hissed as the claws cut across his arm causing blood to pour out.
"Grrrr." Michael growled in both anger and pain.
The monster growled in response.
"I wasn't talking to you." Michael hissed.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a long thick branch. The archangel turns his head back towards his attacker. He throws his arm across his face again while his other arm reaches out for the branch.
Michael screams as the monster's razor-sharp teeth sink into his skin. The archangel pushes through the pain and extends his arm out towards the only weapon that could get him out of this situation.
Letting out one final scream Michael grabs the branch and hits his attacker on the head. The monster rolls off him and lands face first into the ground. Michael stands up on shaky legs. He winced as the blood pours down his arms.
The monster rose to his feet. Michael's mouth drops open. The monster is a wolf dressed in a white nightgown and with a hat to match. The wolf snarls at the archangel. Rage flashed across his eyes. Michael took in the pathetic sight and the first thought to go through his mind is.
Why?
Just why? Why is Loki giving him these ridiculous enemies? Michael did a dramatic eye roll and kicks the wolf in the chest. The wolf crashes into the tree. A grin forms on the archangel's face as he spots an axe sticking out of the tree. He pulls it out and aims at the wolf.
The wolf's eyes go wide at the axe. Michael steps forward. His eyes are wild and he is grinning like a mad man. Now Michael understood why Dean got excited with the grenade launcher. Michael is feeling excited to use this axe to cut the wolf into pieces.
The wolf squeals and turns and sprints into the woods. Michael didn't bother chasing him. He stood and watched the wolf run off. Then Michael raises his axe. With all his strength he throws the axe.
The axe hits the wolf in the back.
Blood pours down the wolf's back. The wolf falls down. His body lies there. Motionless.
Michael goes up to the body. He kicks it with his boot before pulling the axe out. Michael sighs with relief when his finds his arms have healed up. He smirks towards the sky. He was tempted to give the Pagan God the middle finger but he decided against it. One he would feel uncomfortable to do it and two the gesture reminded him of Dean.
He really needed to stop thinking about Dean.
The archangel lifts the axe up and continues walking through the woods. As Michael was walking he noticed something blocking his view. He cranes his neck up. He saw a long, green beanstalk. The beanstalk is so long it went all the way into the clouds.
This looks familiar. Michael thought.
Michael's eyes suddenly widen when he spotted a figure climbing up the beanstalk.
"Jack?"
Michael put two and two together.
Jack. Beanstalk.
The archangel looks back up at the beanstalk. The troll, the white rabbit, the wolf it all made sense now. They are all characters from fairy tales. Jack is about step foot into his own fairy tale.
If Michael remembered this story correctly Jack is going into dangerous territory. Without his powers Jack is vulnerable to the threat that lives above the clouds.
If Jack gets caught...
Michael didn't want to imagine the outcome. He had to get to Jack. He had to save him before it was too late.
The archangel sprinted towards the beanstalk.
He grabs on to the vines and begins climbing.
I find it funny that Jack is in this situation. My mind went to the conversation between Jack and Cas when Cas mentioned Jack and the Beanstalk lol.
Next chapter coming soon.
