The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.

Chapter 121 The Day After

The next morning, Sam got up and after showering he got dressed. When it was about 8:30, Sam decided to call up Gwen since he knew she would be up by now, so he pulled out his iphone and dialed her cell phone number rather than their home number. Within seconds, Gwen answered her phone.

"Hello Gwen, it's me" Sam told her.

"Sam, hi, you said you took the train yesterday, where are you are now?" she asked curiously.

"I got here in St. Paul real late last night, so I just caught a cab and checked into a motel" he explained.

"You know you don't have to stay at any motel, you could stay with us like before, my grandmom wouldn't mind" Gwen said.

Sam sighed a bit feeling a bit awkward over staying at their place after what happened with him and Gwen when they were trapped inside Madame Bess's painting knowing how weary Madame Bess is about them already. He didn't know how she would feel with him staying under the same roof with Gwen since it could happen again, besides, he didn't want to show up at their place real late knowing they were probably in bed already.

"It was really late, and I didn't want to just arrive if you two were both in bed plus, I think it's best I stay at a motel this time around. I'm not sure how your grandmother would be too comfortable with the both us under same roof after what went down between us. I mean, she isn't so sure about us already, I don't want to push it" Sam told her.

He could hear Gwen sigh herself.

"Well, I know my grandmom can be a bit old-fashioned and protective but maybe she wouldn't mind as much as you think as she knows my feelings for you" she said.

"Yeah, but I just think it's best to be the safer side at least until she gets more comfortable of us seeing each other, I do know she's still be bit weary about me" Sam said.

"Yes, she can be like that, she's just worried about me getting hurt that's all, but I understand. I still will talk to her just the same to make her understand about us, besides she does like you Sam, she really does" said Gwen.

"I like her too and get why she's weary, but I hope she comes around more" said Sam.

"She will, don't you worry, but anyway when are you getting over here?" she asked.

"I was going to go and have breakfast first at a nearby diner then head over there sometime afterwards as soon as I check the bus schedule" Sam explained.

"The bus, hey you don't have to catch the bus, just tell me what motel you're staying at and I will be on my way there to pick you up" said Gwen.

"No, that's okay Gwen, I don't want to put you out, I can get over there on my own, okay just hold tight" Sam said.

"You know it's no bother for me to pick you up" said Gwen.

"I get that, but I prefer to just get there on my own, then you can show me around the town" Sam told her.

"Okay, okay, I guess this a male pride thing or something" said Gwen jokingly.

"Something like that, but I like to ask you if know any place I could get a bite nearby where I am?" Sam asked.

"Well tell me what motel you're staying?" asked Gwen.

Sam told her the name of the motel and having check her laptop to do some research, she told him about the closest diner around although he would have to take the bus and even told him where he could find a bus stop which is not a far walk from the motel. They talked some more as Gwen had already had her breakfast and Madame Bess is at her shop already. She had let Gwen stay home to wait for Sam and spend the day with him although she would be looking forward to seeing him in the evening when her shop closes. Then they said their goodbyes and Sam hung up. Then Sam checking for the number for the local bus station with his smartphone found the number called them about the bus schedule and the bus routes.

About 9:00, Sam left the motel and walked towards the bus stop which was just five minutes away and waited there for the bus to come. It finally arrived about five minutes and Sam got on paid his fare and sat down at front not to far from the bus driver and then the bus drove off. It took about twenty minutes for the bus to arrive at the destination he wanted to go, and he got off as soon as it stopped. Then he walked from the bus stop and crossed the street then walked about few more minutes before arriving at the diner. While inside, Sam ordered his favorite meal for breakfast then sat down eating his food taking his time. After he finished, Sam checked his watched to see what time it was. Since it was too early for the next bus to come, he just wiped his mouth and hands with the napkins and got up and left and decided to just browse around the area. He found his way to the supermarket and decided to use the time to buy some batteries since they could use some more and went inside to purchase some.

After getting what he needed, he left and just strolled around area some more but didn't find anything he wanted to go so after a while he just headed towards the bus stop and sat down on the bench and waited for the next bus with at least two other people also waiting. None of them said a word to him or even looked to greet him, but Sam didn't care he preferred the quiet. It didn't take long for the bus to arrive and Sam once again got on paid his fare and sat down as the bus drove him back to area near the motel. Once he got off, he headed towards the motel and went to his suite as he put his bag of batteries away in his duffel bag. He then decided to call Dean to check on them which he would have done earlier but he was too focused on Gwen, the bus and getting his breakfast. Dean answered and they talked a bit as he informed Sam things were not only well but that he followed Sam's advice and called Ava after he got back to the bunker who is now heading there to stay for about a week. She hadn't arrived there, yet and Sam couldn't be more thrilled that he listened to him.

"Hey, that's great Dean, I knew you would come around. I'm just glad you'll have Ava to catch up with while I'm here" Sam said.

"Yeah, I although I was still uneasy about all of this, I admit, I couldn't get Ava out of my mind and just decided to go with the flow, but this is still a bit scary to me, I just hope we are not making a mistake, Sam" Dean told him.

"Yeah, this kind of scares me too bit but only because it's been a long time for both of us to have a woman in our lives, and we never thought it would ever happen again because of of the way he we live, but this could be a sign of a hope and its freaking us both out" Sam said.

"You're right again there, but we can just get through this one day at a time" Dean said.

Sam asked about Adam and Charlie and Dean told him they were doing fine and were looking forward to meeting Dean's "girlfriend" as that is what they call her. Dean even put both Adam and Charlie on the phone to talk for a few minutes and they both teased him about seeing his "girlfriend" Gwen. Then Sam spoke to Dean again.

"Hey, Sam just wanted to again wish you good luck with Gwen" he told Sam.

"Same here with Ava" Sam said.

"And remember about using protection, you know" Dean said in a teasing way.

"I will" Sam said laughing a bit.

They soon finished their conversation when Sam got off. He just sat down for a while to watch some TV to pass the time as there wasn't much else to do before seeing Gwen. When the afternoon was getting near, Sam called Gwen and told her he was heading up there right now although Gwen still offered to pick him up, Sam insisted he will get there himself catching the bus and will be there soon.

"I really got to get myself my own car" Sam thought to himself after he got off the phone.

When the time came, Sam left his suite and headed for the bus stop again and again waited for a about ten minutes when the bus arrived. Sam got on the bus, paid his fare again and sat down as the bus took off. It took him about close to an hour when the bus arrived in the familiar neighborhood of Madame Bess and Gwen's. When the bus stopped, Sam got off and walked around down the sidewalk until he turned left down another street, continued walking down that sidewalk until he found Madame's Bess's familiar looking house. It was now close to 2:00pm as Sam walked up to the house and rang the doorbell. Within several seconds, the door opened and standing there was Gwen. She looked quite beautiful in her white long-sleeved lace boho blouse with a brown chiffon pleated ankle-length skirt. The front part of her dark wavy hair was pulled back with hair barrettes and she had on some red lipstick wearing, a nice crystal-beaded necklace and matching ear rings. She looked great, beautiful in fact, but then, again she always looked beautiful to Sam. She smiled as she looked up at Sam as she glanced at him and he smiled right back.

"Sam, it's so good to see you, come in" she cried out as she opened up the screen door to let him in.

"Good to see you too Gwen" Sam said and as he stepped inside the two quickly embraced.

"My grandmom, is at the shop right now but she wanted to say hello" Gwen told him after they let go of each other.

"She really wished she could be here to greet you but I said we might stop by shop to see if you don't mind" Gwen said.

"No, not all, I was hoping I could see her too, to say hello and all" Sam said. They soon walked through the hall into the living room as Gwen was giving him the low down on what has been happening.

"You know, I've continued to be reading up on lore and devil traps, exorcisms and all of that just to keep up on all that supernatural stuff, Grandmom has been reading up on them too, we just wanted to be extra cautious" Gwen said as Sam sat on the couch.

"Well good to hear that, but you know if you ever have any trouble you could always call on me and Dean or Ava" Sam said.

"We know, but there's no reason we can't be prepared just in case you all are always around" said Gwen.

Sam just nodded. "True enough" he replied.

"Plus, a few days ago we took an even further step, I managed to convince grandmom for us to go out and get anti-possession tattoos" she said excitedly.

"You did what?" Sam said surprised.

"Yes, we did, I had to drag grandmom to go and get one but I felt that we needed to be extra cautious after our experiences with demons. I mean demons are real now walking the earth and can be anyone and can possess your body anytime, and there's nothing you can do about that. I strong-armed my grandmom to finally get those tattoos. She doesn't care for tattoos much, but we went to a place downtown and got one each on our shoulder" she said.

"That's great, at least you're prepared" Sam said.

"Yeah, just think you and Dean just kind of rubbed off on us, want to see it" she replied.

"Sure" said Sam curiously about her tattoo.

Gwen unbuttoned her blouse a little and the pulled out the side just to show enough of her right shoulder which had an anti-possession tattoo that looked identical to the one he and Dean has. Sam just glanced at it impressed.

"It looks good. I couldn't picture you with a tattoo, but this looks good on you "Sam told her.

"Thanks, I never thought I ever wear a tattoo either but I kind of like it, maybe I'll even get another tattoo just like some the cool folks wear or a bunch of them" she said half teasing.

"Hey, don't get carried away, one or two or even three maybe enough, I admit I like to see you wearing a nice cool tramp stamp real badass" Sam said also half-joking as Gwen buttoned her blouse up.

"Really? Well maybe I will someday" Gwen replied coyly then changed the subject. "Anyway, can I get you something to eat or drink, or did you have lunch before you got here?" she asked.

"No, I could use a just a drink but I figured we go up to lunch at least that's what a hoped we do and you can show me around town some more" Sam said.

"I would love to do that, and I know just the places but first let me get you something to drink" Gwen said and then stepped out of the room and went the kitchen as Sam just waited.

She can back a minute later with a glass of Pepsi soda and handed it to Sam who thanked her and drank his drink.

"You know Ava said if I just be patient you would come, and she was right" she told him.

"Ava, You spoke to her?" Sam asked looking a bit surprised.

"Sure, we stayed in touch and I sometimes talked to her whenever I need someone to talk to other than my grandmom, Ava is my friend afterall. Anyway, yes, I mentioned you to her and she suggested I not be too pushy, just wait patiently and have faith you come around, and then the next day you called" she said.

"Well, I'm glad you listened to her, anyway, I also told Dean to call Ava so he can see more of her and explore this thing between them too, he was reluctant at first but the last time I spoke to Dean, he told me he finally called her and she is heading to the bunker today" Sam explained.

"Yes, I know, she called me yesterday and told me that Dean called her and asked her to come down. Ava was so thrilled, I guess she just needed to have faith too" Gwen said.

"Yeah, Dean can be stubborn and sometimes its easier for him to avoid his feelings but it's good he acted on them this time, he and Ava need some time together too" Sam said.

They talked a bit some more but then they decided to go out for that lunch, but Gwen insisted the stop by the shop first and Sam agreed. They headed outside and straight to the car.

"If you only have one car, how did your grandmother get to work, the bus?" Sam asked her.

Gwen shook her head. "No, I drove her to work, since I would be using the car today to spend time with you, and I will pick her when she decides to leave. She decided to leave early and let her employee stay around after hours and close, of course, she hired a fellow psychic not too long ago" she explained.

They then got into the car with Sam being the gentleman as he walked Gwen over to the driver's side and opened the door for her.

"Aww, such a gentleman" Gwen said flattered.

Then he walked over to the passenger side and got in. He normally would prefer to drive the car but he didn't know where Madame's Bess's shop was, besides it was easier to let her drive him around since she is familiar to her hometown but he swore the next time he comes he will use a rental car. The only reason he didn't this time was to save money, but he's determined to rent one anyway, the cost be damned. Soon, they drove off out of the driveway and into the quiet street.
