The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.
Chapter 124 Date Night Deux
After driving Sam to the train station in Newton, Dean drove all the way back to Lebanon stopping to get some snacks on the way and a beer. Back at the bunker, Dean decided to take Sam's suggestion and call Ava. He had been thinking about her quite a lot since his conversation with Sam. Although in his head, he tried to rationalize reasons not to take this thing between him and Ava any further. It was wiser to make a clean break before anyone gets too attached and avoiding pain. But he realizes its too late for that. The truth be told, Dean is hooked and hooked really good. Ava is the first woman he really had genuine feelings for since Lisa and those feelings aren't going away anytime soon. His eyes always lit up upon seeing her again and he found himself looking forward to working a case with her. He always hated to part ways with her and would struggle whether to call her or not. Although he always did without anybody's knowledge(or so he thought) in the privacy of his room, chatting her with her for about nearly an half an hour sometimes. And since they parted ways recently, he at first avoided phoning her but then later relented although he avoided giving her answer about their last chat regarding continuing their relationship and Ava didn't push it trying to give him time and waiting patiently.
However, Sam deciding to go see Gwen today and convincing him to contact Ava and spend time with her helped him realize how badly he wanted to allow Ava in his life, and how he was tired of always worrying about being cautious and afraid to lose anybody else close to him. He just wanted to follow Sam's lead and follow his feelings and take chances throwing caution in the wind. Besides, he and Ava just seemed to fit, more so than he did with Lisa or Cassie. They were both hunters and really got each other and there was so much spark between them right from the beginning and it only increased the more they spent together and got to know one another. Everybody from Sam, Adam and Charlie thought he shouldn't pass up a chance with Ava and maybe they were right. So once he got back to the bunker, he pulled out his phone and called Ava inviting her to the bunker to spend the week there with the two of them catching up and she accepted instantly and planned to head there the next day as she was just got back helping an old hunter acquaintance with a case and was needed time to relax for a bit.
Dean was still a bit uncertain and nervous about all of this, but he didn't show it and both Adam and Charlie praised him for finally inviting Ava to spend some quality time with her. They were all excited for him and even teasing him about his "girlfriend" and Dean just laughed it off, but he was kind of scared of this deep inside. This was a huge step he was taking and he still feared that it would lead to more despair but he had to snap himself out of it reminding him he can't let fear dictate his life especially in letting people in his life. Instead of keeping up score of people he lost, he strived to live in the moment and look towards the future one step at a time just like Sam is doing with Gwen. He talked to Sam on the phone while he was on the train a bit although he didn't mention phoning Ava just yet but just they just talked about the long train ride and about seeing Gwen and all. He even put the phone on speaker so he could talk to Adam and Charlie as well who didn't say anything about Ava as Dean told them not to tell him just yet, he will tell Sam in his own time.
Later that evening, he struggled to sleep as he was still excited about the thought of seeing Ava again but he did eventually drift off later in the night. The next morning after breakfast he got a call from Ava telling him she's on her way and will be there by the afternoon since she was driving from Joplin, Missouri. Dean was so thrilled at the thought of seeing her again he was in such a good mood that day that Adam and Charlie were a bit taken back by him acting like a lovesick teenager. When Sam phoned him some time later that morning, he told him about phoning Ava and that she was on her way right there and Sam was so happy for him wishing him luck and Dean wished him luck with Gwen. He also put the phone on speaker again so Sam could talk to Adam and Charlie too for a while before they said their goodbyes and hung up.
Ava finally arrived by nearly 4:00pm and she looked great. She had on a nice blue and white flannel shirt completely unbuttoned over a white strapless top and blue jeans. Her red wavy hair was worn down and neatly styled and she was wearing red lipstick and red nail polish and carrying a shoulder purse on her shoulder and a suitcase in her arm. She looked the perfect combination of touch chick and very feminine. Dean greeted her in the garage where she parked her van with a smile of a happy boyfriend.
"Hi" he told her.
"Hi" she replied back with a smile.
"You look great" Dean said still smiling.
"You don't look half bad yourself" she responded.
Dean felt a bit bashful then led her out of the garage in to the bunker.
"It's good to see you again, you don't know how many times I just stared at my phone waiting for you to call to invite me over and so glad you finally did" Ava said as they walked in the main room with the map table.
"Hey, I'm sorry I took so long just had other stuff to deal with but at least you're finally here" Dean told her.
"Yeah, and I could finally call Gwen to let her know that you called and asked to spend time together, she was so happy for us" Ava explained.
Dean looked a bit taken aback. "Wait, you called Gwen about us? I mean you two keep in touch?" he asked her.
Ava just nodded her head. "Sure, we occasionally talked. I mean I bonded with her too and we became friends, so yes, sometimes we call her each other up. She always had a feeling that you were going to call without having to see it in her visions or anything just a gut feeling and she had the same about Sam. She just felt one day he would call her up and tell her he wanted to see her and she called me up to tell me the moment he did. And told me to be patient and wait for you" She explained.
"Well, I'm glad her gut instincts came true about us and I'm sure she and Sam are enjoying their time together as much as we're going to" Dean said.
Just then Adam and Charlie entered the room as they were playing a card game together to pass the time.
"Hey, well you finally showed up, Dean was so looking forward to seeing you again" Adam said as he and Charlie walked to Dean and Ava.
"Yeah, Dean couldn't wait to see you he was like an eager teenager all yesterday" Charlie added to Dean's annoyance.
"You already know my other brother Adam and our friend Charlie since you met them the last time. Pardon their manners and all, they're just like to mess me with me" Dean told her.
"No big deal, hey nice meeting you two again. And Charlie I hope you doing well after the guys found you" Ava said.
"I am, thanks for asking anyway we're just happy that you're here because it what makes our Dean here happy" Charlie told her smiling eagerly.
Dean just coughed a bit and swallowed wanting to change the subject.
"Okay, why don't we just get you settled, I just take you to where you'll be staying so you can get unpacked" Dean told her.
"And just where will I be staying?" asked Ava curiously.
"Yeah, where will she be staying Dean?" asked Adam in teasing manner as both he and Charlie just grinned at him.
"In my room, she be staying in my room, if you don't mind that is?" Dean asked her hoping he wasn't being too presumptuous although he couldn't seeing her mind since they already had sex before.
"No not at all lead the way" Ava just replied looking a bit flattered.
"Okay then" replied Dean just eagerly smiling right back.
He then bent down to pick up her suitcase she placed on the floor. He felt a bit embarrassed to the fact that he was so excited to see her again, he forgot to offer to carry her luggage but he decided to do the gentlemanly thing right now.
"You don't have to get that I can carry it" Ava said.
"No, that's alright I got this" Dean insisted.
"Okay then" Ava said who was actually flattered by Dean's chivalrous gesture even though she's used to carrying her own stuff.
Dean reached down and picked up her suitcase and soon led her off to his bedroom as she followed after him while Adam and Charlie just watched in smirked. A few minutes later Dean returned back into the room alone.
"Where's your girlfriend?" Adam asked still teasing.
"Ava is unpacking her stuff and stop calling her my girlfriend" Dean replied.
"Isn't that what she is?" Charlie replied teasingly.
"Hey, we haven't made anything official, we are taking this thing slow and spending time together and see what happens nothing is set in stone so knock it off with the girlfriend comments okay" Dean told them.
"Whatever you say, just hope your lady friend has a good time" Charlie told him.
"And by the way Dean if you two are busy in the room, you know just wrap a sock around your door knob to let us know" Adam replied giving Dean a wink.
"Shut up" Dean replied half laughing and gave Adam a light playful nudge on the shoulder.
"Bye the way, me and Ava are going to go out later this evening and we may be out late depending" Dean told them.
"Hey, I thought all of us were going to hang out tonight" Adam said.
"Me too, I assumed for this night we all would go out for dinner or something" Charlie replied.
"Hey, tonight is just for me and Ava, got it, we can all go out some other time since she will be here for the entire week" Dean said.
"But what are we going to do? I mean we want to go out and have fun too rather be stuck in this mausoleum all night" said Adam a bit upset Dean isn't inviting them along.
"Hey, I don't care where you two go tonight, go to a movie, or go out for a pizza, or whatever, but tonight is just for me and Ava got it" Dean told them a bit firmly.
"Okay, Dean you don't got to tell us twice, we can take a hint" said Charlie.
Dean felt a bit guilty for his tone of words, making them feel left out. The excitement of Ava being here was getting to him a bit.
"Hey, look don't me to sound harsh but you have understand this thing with me and Ava is important to me okay" he said more calm.
"We get it Dean, and we think you two should spend some alone time together" said Charlie understandingly.
"Yeah, same here" replied Adam.
"Good" Dean said.
"So, where are you taking your lady pal?" Adam asked refraining from using the term girlfriend.
"I thought about having dinner at the cafe' ".
"That place, no on the first date you should take to someplace more fancy like a nice restaurant" Charlie said.
"The closest nice restaurant is like an hour drive away" Dean told them.
"So you've driven us that far in the past, I mean the place you took me when I wanted to go out to nice restaurant once you brought me back here" Charlie told him.
"Yeah and we've driven out of town to hang out at bigger bars around the first time you got back from that place" Adam said.
"Yeah, I know, but I just didn't feel like driving that far tonight and wanted to show Ava off at the bar right in town" Dean said.
"Hey, you could still do that after dinner or just take her to another bar after dinner. Besides you can go to that bar any other time since she'll be here for a week as you said" Adam said.
"Okay, I guess you guys are right, all that matters is that we have a good time" Dean replied.
Sometime later that day, after Ava had finished packing her stuff and got a bit of rest after such a long trip, they all hung out in a room and just talked with Adam and Charlie taking turns embarrassing Dean with crazy stories about him. Dean did manage to call Sam to give him the lowdown on Ava arriving and what's being going on. He also let Adam and Charlie talk to him briefly as well as Ava and then letting him get back with his time with Gwen, he said his goodbye and hung up. Around 6:30, Dean decided it was time for him and Ava to head out for dinner and he informed her where they were going that night. Both of them got changed with Ava now wearing a nice red long sleeve blouse and black trousers and Dean just changed into his red long-sleeve button down shirt. Ava tried to invite the others to join them, but Adam and Charlie turned her down insisting they have plans of their own especially after Dean gave them that look. After heading to the garage and hoping into the Impala, the two soon headed out and drove all the way to another city to go to the planned restaurant which took them nearly an hour. They got to the restaurant and had their dinner as Dean tried to play the gentleman opening the door and letting her enter first, waiting for her to sit down first and letting her order first. They engaged in friendly conversation the whole time laughing and teasing each other like a typical couple.
After their meals, Dean picked up the check although Ava objected at first wanting to pay her own way, but Dean insisted since this was their very first official date and told her she can pay too on their next date if she wanted, so Ava relented kind of flattered by his gentlemanly ways. After they left the restaurant, Dean wasn't ready to go home yet since it was only 9:15 and the night was still young, so he talked her into heading to bar nearby so they can have some real drinks and have fun. At the bar they went to, the place was jamming. They ordered some beer then played pool at the pool table while good music was playing on the jukebox. They both had fun keeping up score as at first Ava seemed to be winning then Dean was winning later on.
"You see that, I'm kicking your ass babe" Dean told her in a gloating manner in enjoying outbesting her.
"Yeah, well you were just lucky for now, remember I was kicking your ass earlier and I'll do it again" Ava told him confidently.
"Yeah, sure you will, lets face it darling, I'm the best at this" Dean said in smug tone.
"We'll see who's the best" Ava told him gloatingly. Then they continued their game of pool going back and forth with each other enjoying themselves that they lost track of time as Ava was catching up and finally beating Dean.
"Woah-hoo, you see, I now I just wiped the floor with you Dean Winchester, it seems I'm the best" she told him still gloating.
Dean just have her a mock jealously look. "Hey, you were just lucky that's all" he told her although he really didn't care if she beat him he was just enjoying his time with her.
"Anyway, I got to take a brief break to go a take a leak, I'll be back in few minutes for rematch hun, so you better be prepared to lose again" Dean said.
"Sure thing hun" Ava retorted still gloating.
Dean left the pool table to head for the men's room as Ava just stayed and waited for him. She only waited for a about a minute when three rough looking men who had entered the bar headed over to where she was. One of them spoke up to her.
"Hey, there sweet stuff, looking to play a game of pool, I can teach you doll and a lot of other things too you like" he said with a sleazy smile on his face as his two friends just laughed.
The man who spoked to her looked was unattractive with dirty yellow teeth with one in the front was missing, he was wearing checkered worn out shirt and dirty jeans and had a vibe to him that said low-life and his friends didn't look any better. Ava wasn't flattered by his response and rather creeped out but she was used this type of attention from douchy guys in the past and knew how to handle them.
"Sorry, but I'm with someone already" she explained politely.
"Well, he doesn't seem to be around, I mean what kind of guy leaves a fine piece like you alone in a place like this, huh? If you were mine, I wouldn't let you out of my sight for a minute, so what do you say?" he told her.
"I'm waiting for him right he just stepped out to the men's room so if you don't mind" she told explained.
"No, I don't mind at all, I definitely wouldn't mind playing with you dear" he told her as he was getting close to her undressing her with his eyes with the same sleazy look he had.
Ava was getting more uneasy with this guy but contained her composure as to not start a scene.
"Well, this pool table is occupied, like I said I'm with somebody who will be back in a sec, so will you please go" Ava told him politely.
"Hey, don't be so hard to get sweetie, if you give me half a chance I can show you a good time" the guy said still giving creepy looks to her as his two buddies just smirked and laughed.
"Like I said, I'm already with somebody who I'm waiting on so no thank you" Ava told him firmly hoping he would just get the message.
"Hey, guys the little lady doesn't seem so friendly, maybe we out to just loosen her up to get her in the mood" said the sleazy guy turning to his buddies as they two just kept grinning and getting close to her.
"Hey, fellows I don't want any trouble, so what don't you just go find somebody else to flirt with and let me be okay" Ava said as she backed away from them.
"Like I said maybe you need to loosen up a bit and stop being so uptight, sweet thang" said the guy as now got too close to Ava and started to touch her hair.
Ava jerked away now getting frustrated as she wasn't in the mood for a group of creeps hassling her on her first date with Dean spoiling everything.
"Look, I've tried to be nice but now I'm just going to have to make myself clear, leave me alone right now or they will be trouble and I mean big trouble" Ava warned the men harshly.
"Hey, trouble is what we like, right boys?" said the guy turning to his friends again then turning back at Ava.
"Besides, I never take no for answer there so why don't you just you just relax, hun you may have a good time too" said the guy winking at her.
Ava getting more frustrated backed off some more.
"Look, I told you to back off and leave me alone" she said again more firmly.
"Hey, you heard the lady" said Dean as they all turned to see him standing nearby having returned from the restroom now looking a bit ticked off at some punks moving in on Ava on their date bothering her.
"Hey, buddy I don't see how this is any of your business" said the guy.
"Well, it is, this lady happens to be with me, so you fellows need to back off" Dean said more harshly.
"Or what?" asked the guy quite defiantly in a tone that he was looking for trouble.
"Hey, I don't want any trouble dudes" Dean replied standing his ground.
"Hey, Dean forget let's just let them have the table we can go somewhere else" Ava said as she walked up to Dean and tried to pull him away.
"Yeah, Dean you can go, but the little lady can stay here with me" said the guy now eyeing up Ava in a pervy type of way and this just ticked Dean off who wanted to say something but Ava stopped him.
"Come on Dean lets get out of here we don't need any trouble" Ava said.
"So, your letting your little woman talk for you white knight?" replied guy who was clearly trying to bait Dean into a confrontation, but Dean contained his cool.
"You know what man, you ain't worth it, you can have the pool table, come on Ava" he said turning to her as he pulled her a way and they both started to walk off.
But the guy just went up behind Dean followed by his two buddies.
"Hey, don't walk away from me chump" he said giving Dean a shove from behind prompting Dean to quickly turn around angrily ready to beat this guy down but he contained himself again as he didn't want to get into a fight on his date with Ava.
"Hey dude, I don't want to fight just have a good time out with the lady here, so I'm giving you a chance for you all just walk away and let this go, okay" he told him firmly.
"Well, I ain't the type to let things go buddy neither are my friends here" replied the guy.
"Hey, this is your last warning if you don't back off there will trouble in a way you don't like" Dean warned.
"Uwww, you hear that boys, Dean here is going to give us trouble?" the guy replied cockily turning to his friends who both just stood there laughing and grinning. Then he turned back to facing Dean. "What are you going to about huh Dean" replied the guy as he shoved Dean again this time in his chest.
"Hey, do that again pal" Dean warned now really getting steamed and ready to kick ass.
"Oh yeah" replied the guy who tried to shove Dean again to bait him but this time Dean blocked and shoved him right back.
"That was your last warning!" Dean fired back.
The guy was taken aback and looked a bit embarrassed but to save face in front of his friends he came at Dean and took a swing at him. But Dean being a better fighter just dodge his blow by ducking then swung back at the guy and made contact punching the guy right in the jaw sending him stumbling back into his two friends who quickly grabbed him to hold him. Just then the guy lunged at Dean again more aggressively and swung at him again but Dean ducked again and this time throw a couple of punches at the guy and tossed him and he winded crashing into an empty table nearby. The other two guys then came at Dean but he blocked and threw a couple of punches and karate kicks causing one of them to fall to the floor while Ava jumped in and to help and took care of the other guy with her punches and karate kicks sending tumbling to the floor too. However, the fight wasn't over as all three guys got up and continued to lunged at Dean and Ava but the two just like partners held their own. Dean continued to dodge and block punches and threw good haymakers and kicks at the guy who started it all and one if his buddies who was twice Dean's size, sending them both crashing into the pool table or another table close by.
The third guy swung at Ava but she ducked in time and gave a good karate kick, punches and a nice judo move sending him down the floor again. But the three men didn't give up and just got up and kept coming at Dean and Ava and at one point one of them swung at Ava who ducked and hit one of his buddies by mistake knocking him down the floor and Ava continuing using her martial arts skills took care of him knocking him down again while Dean took care of the bigger guy again not holding back and sending him crashing into the table again and this time the guy didn't get up. The whole time this brawl was happening the other customers just stood or sat down and watched silently sometimes gasping in shock but not one of them intervened. Some had been staring when the three guys started hassling Ava and when they started in on Dean when he came back as they just knew it was going to be a fight and just started quieting down waiting for it.
After all three guys were down again, they all heard the sound of gun click and a gruff voice.
"Okay, that will enough of that in my bar" as they all turned to face the bar owner now brandishing a rifle and pointing it at the three men.
"Mac you and your cronies are always started trouble in my bar, I want all three of you outta here right now" he said as he continued to firmly point the rifle in their direction.
"Oh god dammit Angus, we have the right to have a drink just like everybody else here" replied Mac the ringleader of the trio.
"Not when you start fights in here you don't. Now I'm not telling you again to get yourselves outta here or else they will be trouble" he told them as the held his rifle pointed at them.
Mac just gave a sour look on his face and rub his chin and then turned to his buddies.
"Come on fellas, we can find someplace better anyway, this place sucks" he told them and he headed out the door as this buddies followed them.
The crowd just watched including Dean and Ava. Then Angus, the bar owner lowered his rifle and turned to the couple.
"Sorry about that and all, Mac and is pals have caused problems in here before, they are nothing but trouble but you took mighty care of them and I have to say I'm impressed. Anyway, they won't bothering you anymore tonight" he told them.
"Thank you" Ava replied.
The situation was over quickly and the owner even offered them drinks on the house but they declined since they already had a couple of drinks and they didn't want to drink too much. The other customers looked at them some where quite impressed how they handled Mac and his buddies since they didn't like those troublemakers either and felt they deserved to put in their place. Dean just turned to Ava and with his hand touched her arm.
"Hey, you're alright there?" he asked her concerned.
"Yeah, I'm okay, I think I should be asking you that though, you sure put one hell of a fight there" she told him.
"Well, those guys got the worse end of the it, but you sure held your own there too" Dean replied.
"Yeah, I wasn't going to let those hicks mess with you and not back you up, I'm sorry those creeps gave you so much trouble" she told him
. "I've dealt my fair share of dicks giving me a hard time I can handle, I just didn't like they way they were hassling you" Dean told her a bit concerned.
"Yeah, well we sure handled them, by the way I like how all protective, kind of turned me on a bit white knight" Ava said slyly as she put her hand to caress his face.
"You do huh, well than I guess we need to getting to good old brawls more frequently then. And the way you kicked ass kind of turned me on too, I always loved a chick who can dish out a good old ass-kicking" Dean told her as he put his hand on her face and they two leaned in for a nice kiss as some onlookers just stared some even whistling.
Ava then pulled away a bit realizing they are being watched. "Okay, we don't need an audience, lets just get back to our pool white knight" she told him.
"You said it darling and I'm still going to kick your nice ass" Dean told her with sly grin and the two just continued on with their pool game without any more trouble.
After about an half hour, both Dean and Ava finished with the game to let another pair use the table and Ava persuade a reluctant Dean to dance on the dance floor to the nice music playing not caring if anybody else was dancing too. The two just slow danced real close to each other and kissed some more. As it was getting a bit late, the two finally decided to head out and drove back home. But before heading home Dean drove them on a dirt road into the woods and then parked his car near a tree.
"Hey, why did you stop here?" asked Ava curiously.
"I thought we just have some alone time together before heading back, you know" Dean told her slyly.
Ava smiled knowing what he meant.
"Well, if you put it like that, I wouldn't mine some alone time" she told him grinning.
"Now you're talking" Dean said as he leaned over to Ava and they both soon started making out a little.
"Wow, this is a bit romantic, the two us parked alone together in the woods like two teenagers" Ava said between kisses.
"Two horny teenagers" Dean corrected.
"You sure know how to say the most romantic things" Ava said kind of sarcastic as they kept on making out with each other.
"I can be more romantic than that, want to get into the backseat?" he asked her with a sly look on his face.
"Now you're talking" Ava said excitedly. Then the two got out of the car and quickly went into the backseat where they continued their making out which then led to lovemaking all through the dark night in the quiet woods.
