The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.
Chapter 127 The Week Goes By and Another Goodbye
As the days went on, Both Dean and Sam continued to enjoy their times with their respective women. For Sam, Gwen continued to show him different places in the city taking him to different parks where they can just hang out, enjoy the view, have a picnic, feed the ducks or just make out in the woods like a couple of teenagers in love. They also visited other places like the library since she knew how much Sam likes to read and more historic homes. During the evenings, they went out to nice restaurants and bars enjoying good-time music and playing pool. They even did a karaoke together with Gwen having to practically force Sam up on the stage and they had fun despite neither of them being able to sing a tune. Afterwards, they would go back to Sam's motel for sex and then Gwen would drive back to her home. Meanwhile, Dean and Ava continued to enjoy their time together despite their brief trouble with the law, they were both over it and even laughed about it a little. They swore never to go skinny dipping again but they did go out to the local bar to drink some beer and play pool or they went by the stream to go fishing. For more fun, they traveled to towns a bit further away so they since there wasn't a lot to do in Lebanon and went to more exciting bars that performed live music and one event had line dancing where Ava showed off her skills and even managed to drag a very reluctant Dean to partake in. He wasn't much of a dancer but did alright that surprised both of them.
Sometimes Adam and Charlie would go out with them during evenings like bowling out of town over an hour away, or a nice horror movie at the nearest movie theatre. Other times the foursome just hung out at the bunker where they played a game of pool or a card game. Ava and Charlie hit it off quite well as the only females to bond with although Charlie would tried to hide her little crush on Ava, she would tease Dean on what a hot babe he got and if she were into chicks she would have snagged her for herself which Dean just rolled his eyes. Each of Winchester brothers was enjoying themselves with their "girlfriends" that when end of the week was nearing Sam didn't want to leave and Dean didn't want Ava to. The last night Sam spent in St. Paul was having a nice candle-lit dinner in the dining room with Gwen instead of going out while Madame Bess had already had her dinner earlier and went upstairs to give them some privacy. Then she came back downstairs when Sam was about to leave and convinced him to spend the night.
"You might was well stay the night here as I know you are not looking forward to heading back to that small motel" she told him.
"That's kind of you ma'am but I don't want to impose" Sam said although that wasn't true.
"Nonsense, it's not like you haven't stayed here before" she told him.
"Well that was different ma'am, I mean….." Sam tried to explain but Madame Bess cut him off.
"It's not different at all, and I know why you don't want to spend the night. I know my granddaughter here likes to think I'm just this old-fashioned old lady who isn't up to date but I'm more modern than any of you two think and I'm been aware exactly wasn't been going on between you two. I know that Gwen been spending time at your motel room and know what goes on between the you youngins" she replied.
Sam looked a bit embarrassed not knowing what to say but before he had a chance to respond, Madame Bess continued.
"I'm not going to make a fuss about it as Gwen here is an adult as are you and what goes on between the two of you is your own business just hope you two are using protection that's all. That being settled, you might as well just spend the night here and I won't make any issue of what happens under my roof, you got my word on that" she finished.
Sam was still a bit embarrassed as he felt like a teenager whose girlfriend's mother was giving him permission to spend the night with her daughter. He didn't know what to say.
"That's nice of you ma'am but my stuff is at the motel and all" he said awkwardly.
"Don't worry about that, Gwen can drive you back to your motel room to get your things before driving you to the station. You can use the guest room that you and your brother used before if you like but being more open-minded and progressive here, I'm just going to say if you want to share the room with Gwen which is what I assume you both want than just go ahead already" she told him.
"Grandmom!" cried out Gwen looking a bit shocked and embarrassed that her grandmother was giving Sam permission to sleep in her bedroom with her.
"Oh come on, Gwen, like I said before, I'm not blind and you two are adults, stopped acting like your grandmother is some naïve old ninny from the dark ages" she fired back at her granddaughter.
Sam did finally relent since it was his last night he stayed over. The three of them watched some TV for a long while talking a bit then, Madame Bess retired early to bed while Sam and Gwen stayed up longer making out on the couch like two teenagers. This just made them even more horny and they turned off the TV headed upstairs to Gwen's room to have some sex. Afterwards they slept in her bed the whole night. Early next morning, Madame Bess knocked on the door waking both of the up, reminding them it was time to get up as Sam had to take his train that morning as both of them looked a bit embarrassed knowing that she knew Sam spent the night in her room. Sam washed in the sink for a quick ten minutes, then Gwen showered and Sam got dressed in Gwen's room having to put on the same clothes. They joined Madame Bess downstairs in the kitchen for breakfast as she made them sausage, grits and scrambled eggs with coffee while chatting.
After breakfast, Madame Bess cleared the table and Sam offered to help but Madame Bess refused insisted she will take care of it giving Gwen and Sam more time together in the living room. When the time came, Gwen prepared to drive Sam back to his motel room to change and get his stuff. As they headed near the door Madame Bess gave Sam and a nice hug.
"I will miss you dear, it was nice having you" she told him.
"It was nice being here and I miss you too you and Gwen" he told her.
"Well, you just make sure come back here and visit again soon and don't keep us waiting too long" she told him.
"Sure thing, ma'am" Sam said.
"And hopefully sometime you could bring your brother and Ava too, I'd like to see them sometime" she replied.
"I'll be sure to tell them" Sam told her.
They said more goodbyes and then Sam and Gwen left the house and Gwen drove Sam back to his motel room where he changed his clothes and got all his stuff and then she drove him to the train station. They arrived almost a half hour before his train departs. Gwen and Sam said their goodbyes outside the station as they gave a nice lingering goodbye kiss and then hugged for a few seconds.
"Like my grandmom, come back soon" she told him.
"I will" Sam said then he gave her another goodbye kiss.
Soon Sam grabbed his stuff and headed inside the station looking back a couple of times at Gwen as they both waved goodbye. Just like before, Sam sat down and waited for his train, he like before he boarded the train, showed his ticket to the conductor and when the time came the train left. Sam just sat in his seat by himself as no one was sitting next to him although a young couple were sitting across from him. He spent the time phoning Dean and they chatted for while catching up to what the other had been doing and even got to talk to Adam and Charlie and told Dean to say hello to Ava for him. Then he just surfed the internet listened to music and then just dozed off for a long while. He ate his meals during lunch and dinner and phoned Dean again to chat for a while when it got real late. When the train finally arrived in Newton, Kansas, it was really late and dark at night just like before. When he got off, he called for a cab and had to wait an extra twenty minutes when it finally arrived and took him to 24-hours open motel. He paid his fare and then checked into the motel and once inside his room he quickly took off his and shirt and just dropped into the bed and went to sleep. The next morning, Sam got up got washed up put on a new shirt and headed outside to walked to the diner which was close by the motel as Sam studied the location on the internet on his iphone. He ordered some breakfast, ate it real fast and then headed back to the motel when he phoned Dean to come pick him up.
Dean arrived sometime after noon and Sam was already ready to go. They both headed back to the diner to get some lunch and then drove back to Lebanon. On the way home, the chatted about their times spent with the each of the women.
"So, you got to paint the town red with your little lady love?" Dean replied teasingly.
"Yeah, Gwen showed me around city, we went to the most interesting places, I already told you about some the haunted historic homes she showed me" Sam replied.
"Yeah, who a thought, Grandma and granddaughter psychic duo doing a bit of hunting themselves, never pictured them into all that" Dean replied with a grin.
"They weren't exactly hunting Dean, they only focused on helping spirits move on and cross over, nothing more" Sam told him.
"Well, from what I remember that is part of hunting, just like what we do, so like I said they're sort of hunters semi-hunters if that's what you prefer" Dean told him.
"I guess, anyway it was the best just being with her, she's the most amazing person" Sam said thinking about Gwen and missing her already.
"Hey, I get it, Romeo, miss your little sweetheart already, well, can call her phone her when we get back and the two of you can be all lovey-dovey with each other all you like" Dean said.
"Hey, what about you and Ava, I mean you told me some of the stuff you two did but what else happened with the two of you?" Sam asked.
Dean was swallowed a bit looking somewhat awkward as he didn't want to tell him about him and Ava getting busted for skinny dipping just yet as it was still a bit embarrassing for him.
"We did lots of things, we hung out the bar, went bowling, movie night with the whole gang, Ava even got me doing a line dance at bar out of town, I mean can you picture me, line dancing" Dean replied.
"No, I can't picture that at all" Sam said jokingly.
The two them continued to chat all the way back to home. They finally arrived at the bunker and Sam was greeted by everybody there all welcoming him back. Sam started giving the others a bit of info of his time with Gwen and what he did.
"Gwen already giving him some of the dirt on your romantic trysts already" Ava replied gleefully.
"When?" asked Sam curiously.
"Yesterday she phoned me and we traded a bit of juicy details of our times with you guys, we talked for quite a while anyway she says it was the time of her life and is looking forward to seeing you again, when are you dropping by again, she really would like to know?" Ava wondered.
"Well, I will discuss of that with her sometime" Sam told her.
"Oh, this is your way of saying to butt out, I guess" said Ava.
"In a way" Sam told her.
"Hey, I can take a hint, anyway, Dean here can't wait to give you all the dirt about our time together, I presume" Ava said turning to Dean with a grin.
"Yeah, I already told Sam some lowdown on us already" Dean said with a bit of an embarrassed look on his face.
"Hey, did Dean tell you about the little brawl he and Ava go into at the bar with some roughnecks, and bartender had to grab a gun to send those creeps packing" Adam said with a smirk.
"What?" Sam replied as his eyes lit up while Dean and Ava just looked a bit embarrassed.
"Yeah, and what about the time they got arrested for public nudity when they skinny dipped out at the stream and some local kids stole all their clothes leaving them stranded naked and when the deputies found them" Charlie chimed in.
"What!" Sam cried out louder now looking really shocked while both Dean and Ava just stood there looking a bit comfortable.
"Yeah, and we had to go there, bringing them some clothes because they were dressed in nothing but blankets in the jail cell and had to wait for hours until the sheriff decided to let them go on a warning, although they did catch those kids got all their things back" Adam replied.
"Yeah and having to get the Impala from the impound and all" Charlie added again.
Sam just looked in disbelief on what he was hearing.
"You two got in involved in bar brawl and then got busted for skinny dipping out by the stream?" he asked Dean quite shocked.
"Hey, Sam it wasn't as bad as it sounds and it all turned out well, anyway, I mean just something to tell our grandkids about" Dean replied trying to out like it was no big deal as Ava just nodded on.
"Yeah, it turned out fine" she remarked.
Sam continued to look shocked. "Oh, boy, I leave town for a week and crazy stuff happens, you get into all sort of trouble" he said as the others just started to laugh.
Later that day they gang just hung out in the bunker although Dean and Ava went to get some alone time together in another part of the bunker while Adam and Charlie just watched TV together and Sam went to his room and phoned up Gwen again talking to her longer than he realized before he hung up and laid down on his bed to get some rest. By dinnertime, they all ate in and even Castiel showed up and joined them for a while as they all urged him to stick around despite the fact he doesn't get hungry and normally eat and they all ate some leftovers. They hung out some more watching a nice suspenseful movie and even Castiel got into it. He left after the movie was over and they all decided to play some pool in the room. Time passed on before they knew it and Dean and Ava decided to retire to bed early as it was their last night together while the others continued to stay out some more before retiring to bed too.
Then next morning Ava fixed some more breakfast for everybody then they all cleaned up, she got all her things as she was preparing to leave for her parents' house. Dean helped her carry her luggage this time and they all headed to the garage where her van was and helped her load her things inside the van. She said goodbye to the others and then she and Dean said their goodbyes.
"So, when is the next time are coming back?" Dean asked her.
"Well, I'm hoping the next time you seek me out wherever I am" she told him.
"You can count on it that" he told her.
"And I hope is soon, don't keep me waiting too long" said Ava.
"I won't" Dean told her. The two then engaged in a long passionate kiss in front of the others.
Then she said her goodbyes to him and the others again before Dean walked her to the driver's said and opened the door as she stopped her van and within moments she was driving off out of the garage while they all looked on. Once she was out of sight Dean started missing her already and Sam started thinking about Gwen again and missing her. Later the entire day was quite boring, nothing much happened as Charlie just did some bit of her own laundry and Adam decided to his although Sam and Dean just relaxed some watched TV, talked, or Sam spent time on his laptop searching for more cases, Dean went out to get something from the store, Adam and Charlie played game of cards, neither Sam or Dean were in the mood. Time just flew by like nothing in and no time it was dinnertime and then time for bed. Adam and Charlie retired but Sam asked Dean to stay up later to talk. Left alone in one of the rooms, Sam discussed the issue with Ava and Gwen.
"You know Dean, about this thing with Ava and Gwen, doesn't it seem all so scary now to you?" he asked his brother.
"Scary?, Of course it's a bit scary but as you said before, we should just stop worrying and just take a chance and go with the flow, I mean why are you bringing this up now?" Dean wondered.
"I know what I said, but now that I really grasp all of this and it has sunk in, I mean things won't be the same anymore, you know" Sam replied.
"Well, yeah it's a bit different know, who would've thought us having relationships with our kind of life" Dean replied trying make light of everything.
"Yeah, Dean but my point is that it may never be just you and me anymore, if you think about it" Sam said.
"It hasn't been just you and me and a long while now, I mean we got our little brother Adam and now Charlie living under the same roof as us" Dean replied.
"I know that, I mean for the longest time it was just you and me against the world after dad died. I mean Castiel is like family, but he comes and goes, then we finally found Adam again and got Charlie back but they are family so it's a bit different with them. Now, we got Gwen and Ava in our lives and it's just different you know. These are women we care about we are inviting in our lives more and more and that mean's a lot will change" Sam said.
"Well, it already changed a little but come on Sam, it won't change us, who we are, we are still hunters I mean what is this all about, you are the one that was inching for this, you insist on seeing Gwen again when I thought it was a bad idea and pushed me to see Ava and you were right, it was great" Dean told him.
"I'm not complaining Dean, nor do I have regrets, I'm just saying that things will change a lot. I mean we are making room for other people in our lives outside of family that is, that's what's changing. The more time we spend with these women we really care about the more our feelings for them will grow and they will play big roles in our lives. That's what scary, I mean this isn't something neither of had since you and Lisa and me and Amelia and I can help but wonder what will happen I mean where will this lead us" Sam said.
Dean was trying not to show he had Sam's concerns, but he clearly did it Sam could see it too. "Hey, like you said before, we don't need to think about all of that, just let whatever happens happen and worry about it when the time comes" he told Sam.
"I know I said that, but I can't help it Dean. I mean, Gwen has already discussed the idea of moving down here in this small town and leaving her life behind just to be near me if we really were ready this thing that is going on between us to be something more permanent. But after that, what next? I mean in time she could want to go even further by moving in the bunker" Sam said.
"Yeah, that would be huge step, and it would be something we all would need to discuss if it came to that, but would that really bother you?" asked Dean.
"Maybe it wouldn't bother me such much it would scare me a bit when the time comes but it is something to consider, I mean what about you? What if the time came and Ava got tired of just you two just getting together occasionally and wanted to take your relationship in a new direction, what if she also wanted to move down here to be near you or even move in the bunker?" Sam asked.
"That's a lot of what ifs. Look Sam, I know what you're getting at and yeah this whole thing is new to us, and it can be a bit scary but it's nothing we can't handle. We are used to handle scary and in this case it means our love lives. Sure, it will change some things about us and that does spook me a bit, but we will just have to deal with all of that, the good and the bad and the scary and I'm willing. All I know is this week with Ava was one of the best and I look forward the idea of seeing her again. This feeling I have with her, I never had with any woman not even Lisa" said Dean.
"I understand I feel the same about Gwen" Sam told him.
"So, we just deal with anything that comes our way, I am not going to fret about the future but just enjoy every time I have with Ava and whatever it leads to we will deal with it, when the time comes no matter what it is" Dean told him.
"I know you're right" Sam said.
"Well, it was what you said we should mainly do, stop letting fear get in our way. I mean, I know things will be different from now on, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. But I tell you what will never change" Dean replied.
"What is that?" asked Sam.
"We will always be brothers and always have each other's back no matter what, nothing can change that not Adam, Charlie, Ava, Gwen, nothing" Dean said.
"Same goes for me too" Sam said as Dean gave Sam a little nudge on the shoulder.
"Anyway, enough with this mushy stuff like a couple of girls, lets hit the hay" Dean said.
"That I can do" Sam said as the two headed for bed.
Just before Sam wen to his room he turned to Dean and said, "Night jerk".
"Okay bitch" Dean replied as they both smiled and each went to their bedrooms to get some sleep.
