The story takes place right after the season 10 finale, after Dean killed Death, the Mark of Cain was removed and Darkness was released into the world. I mentioned before, new characters will be added and thrown in the story and I will bring back several former characters from the show in the upcoming future.
Chapter 128 As The World Goes On(Finale)
Just two weeks after Ava left the bunker, Dean and Sam finally had their next case which was up in Maine and involved a condominium that used to be a mental hospital many decades ago and evil spirits of patients were haunting the residents and killing them and torturous ways. The two hunters stopped the hauntings like they always do while Adam and Charlie patiently stayed behind and waited for their safe return. As the months went by, life with the Winchesters went on as usual, fighting and defeating monsters, ghosts and all other evil creatures. Sometimes they phone Adam and Charlie for help having them research lore or spells and rituals in one of their many books they have in the library. Both of them would be relieved to be of any assistance to Dean and Sam during their cases.
When not hunting, the brothers either spent time with Adam and Charlie or spent time with their respective "girlfriends" who they got together with at least once a month if they could, and spent a week or longer with them unless they were called back for a case which rarely happened. Dean and Ava took turns visiting each other as sometimes he met up with her wherever she was staying and they would spend the night either in her motel or van. Sam would stay at Madame Bess and Gwen's house whenever he visited rather than at a motel and slept in Gwen's bedroom as the grandmother didn't seem to mind at all to their relief although it was a bit awkward at first. He did use a rent-a-car so he could drive her around instead of vice-versa. The more Dean and Sam spent with these women, their feelings for them grew even stronger and they didn't have a problem calling them their girlfriends as their relationships with them became official but they still didn't talk about any future plans just enjoying their times with them and seeing what happens.
Their times with Adam and Charlie were also meaningful, as the foursome sometimes would go on trips away from the small-town of Lebanon and head out to the big cities to watch a baseball game, it was Charlie's first game ever and she loved it. They also went to a wrestling match as the guys were all wrestling fans, Charlie not so much but she wound up surprising herself and enjoying the match. Other trips were at a cabin by a lake so they could so they could go fishing in a better area and plenty other places. Charlie's presence also improves the guys in more ways as she uses her hacking skills to make it easier for the guys to use credit cards for much longer periods of time without it being traced back to them or the credit card being declined and the guys spent amount money for numerous things. For Charlie, she had done a lot of shopping for new clothes at the thrift store, as well other personal items and some books which she did shortly after the guys brought her back to the bunker after she was released from Rowena's spell. She had later bought a video gaming controller and some video games as a dedicated gamer and eventually bought herself an old Toyota on sale for cheap when they went into big city and she drove herself all the way back to the bunker all proud of having her own car. Adam also used his new improved credit card to spend on a video game controller and video games of his own as he and Charlie were both avid gamers and even did some gaming together or borrowed the others video games.
Later during the early fall, he decided to take some kickboxing classes again. He had taken up the sport when he was fourteen after pestering his mother for a year who relented. He briefly stopped when he went off to college and started taking it up again a bit at the campus gym and now, he was interested again. The nearest gym was further away in another county, so Adam finally got himself the motorcycle he had wanted for cheap and it was in good condition. Now, he wouldn't have to depend on his brothers for transportation when he wanted a lift from Dean nor on public transportation or walk whenever he wanted to go out. In late September, they all celebrated Adam's 25th birthday, and even Castiel showed up. Dean, Sam and Charlie each got him gift, which included another video game he wanted from Charlie, porn DVDs from Dean, and some books on the paranormal from Sam. Castiel didn't get him a gift but that was okay, he had all that he wanted which was being surrounded by family. By October, Sam finally decided to get himself his own car too, buying a nice used Sedan for cheap that was still in good condition. Now, whenever he wasn't riding with Dean on a case, he could have his own transportation to go wherever he wanted including visiting Gwen and no longer needed a rent-a-car.
Castiel continued to be an occasional presence in their lives, dropping in on them at the bunker quite often or when they needed extra help on a case as he was part of the family like another brother to them. Sometimes he enlisted their help when dealing with rouge reapers and fallen angels who didn't return to Heaven on God's command but remained on earth. All the while he was still roaming about the world trying to figure out what his mission that God told him he had to finish. Crowley also was a presence in their lives after their falling out. Although he didn't seek revenge on them, he was sometimes linked to the cased especially when it involved demons. Both the Winchesters knew they would end up being stuck working with him or working against him in the future and it would be tough to work with him as he still held a grudge for them double-crossing him regarding Rowena the last time. As for Rowena, they didn't hear anything else about her and were relieved as she didn't seem to be a problem anymore now that she is at the mercy of the grand coven.
Time continued to fly by for the Winchesters during the months an in late October, it was Madame Bess's birthday. Since the guys couldn't come up to help celebrate her birthday, as they were working a case in California at that time, they phoned her up wishing her a happy birthday and even sent a birthday card signed by all four of them. Then soon it was November and in no time, Thanksgiving arrived. Although the boys aren't the really into celebrating holidays, they decided to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner at the bunker with an old fashioned meal for Adam and Charlie's sake. They ordered a nice prepared meal to go at a restaurant and brought it back at the bunker. The dinner consisted of the typical turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, turnip greens and pie for dessert as well beer for drinks. All four of them set up the dinner in the dining room. Madame Bess and Gwen had been invited to come weeks before, but Madame Bess got a bad case of the cold, so they remained behind at home and Gwen had to cook their dinner all by herself. Ava was of course spending the holiday at her parent's house. Both Dean and Sam spoke to their girlfriends on the phone before they were about to eat as Adam and Charlie just sat around and watched with smirks on their faces.
"I'm sorry I couldn't make it down there, we really wanted to but grandmom's cold got bit worse" Gwen explained over the phone.
"I understand, how is she doing anyway, I hope she's doing better" Sam told her.
"Yes, she has been in bed a lot and taking her medicine but she was able to get up now to eat dinner, she felt bad about not being able to do the cooking this year but I insisted she lay down and let me take care of everything, she needs as much rest as possible. I had to go light due to her cold giving her some turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce along with some soup" Gwen said.
"We'll I hope you have a nice dinner to the too of you" Sam said.
"And I hope you guys also have a nice dinner, you know grandmom felt so bad not being able to go down there and see you guys that she mentioned inviting you all our place for Christmas, with a nice dinner and all even your angel friend Castiel is invited" Gwen replied.
"That's nice and all and I hope we will be able to take you on your offer" Sam said.
"Just hope nobody ends up with a cold or anything" Gwen replied sarcastic as Sam just laughed.
Dean was also busy on his phone speaking to Ava. "Just glad you're all doing well out there, wishing you were here" he told her.
"Me too, but I'll be there by December sometime before Christmas if I'm able" Ava told him.
"I'll hold you to that, have a nice dinner with your folks there" he told her.
Back to Sam they were now saying there goodbyes.
"Happy Thanksgiving Sam" Gwen told him.
"Back at you" Sam told her and soon they hung up.
"Hey, Happy Thanksgiving there, hope to see you soon" Dean told Ava and she said the same thing before he hung up his phone too.
"So, you two are finally finished talking all lovy-dovy with your girlfriends we when are we going to eat" Adam said sarcastically.
"Hold your horses there, Adam, we are waiting for Cas to show first" Dean told him.
"Castiel, he's joining us for Thanksgiving?" asked Charlie curiously.
"Yeah, we told him to drop on by today for dinner and he said yes" Sam explained.
"Really, that's cool, I kind of like the angel dude, he's kind of cool in an odd way" Charlie said.
"Yeah, it's sort of awesome having an angel as a pal" said Adam.
Just then Castiel popped in right there in the middle of the dining room.
"Hey, Cas, glad you showed, now the whole gang is here we can have our dinner" said Dean.
"Good to have you here Cas" Sam said.
"Yeah, that goes for all of us, our home is yours as they say" replied Charlie as she gave him a little nudge on the shoulder although like the first time she met him only this time, his shoulder felt hard like steel and actually hurt her fist a bit.
"Yes, I'm aware of this American holiday, which occurs every last Thursday of November which originated as when the pilgrims who arrived in this country celebrated with a feast after the first harvest with a group of Native Americans and you all celebrate this holiday with a nice dinner involving a turkey" he explained.
"Well, you know your history quite well there Cassie" Charlie replied trying to engage in small talk.
"Anyway, now the whole gang is here can we finally eat already" Adam replied eagerly as he was quite hungry and wanted to dig into the food already.
"Okay, okay, lets eat already" Dean said.
They all sat down at the table, Castiel included although he doesn't normally eat, this was one of the few exceptions as the brothers set a plate for him and a glass of beer. Just as they were all about to dig in, Castiel spoke up suddenly. "As I recall isn't part of this custom to pray and give thanks to God?" he asked.
Both Dean and Sam just glanced at each other looking a bit taken aback as praying before dinner isn't their thing. Sam only prays when he's alone or before he goes to bed.
"Well, yeah I guess is that's what you want to do you can give prayer Cas" Dean replied not knowing what else to say.
Then Castiel put his hands together in front of his face and bowed his head and everybody also bowed their heads and he gave his prayer.
"Lord, I give thanks for that you helped us defeat Darkness in the end and saved the entire world and humankind. I give thanks for forgiving any wrongs I committed, restored my wings, giving me faith in you again which I swear I will never ever lose and allowing me more time on earth to find out what my mission is. I gave thanks for all those that I have in my life who are dear to me and like the family I've never had. I give thanks for every passing time on this earth forever more. Amen" he finished.
Sam and Dean just looked a bit touched by Castiel's words especially about the part about those close to him are like family as they feel the same way about him. Adam and Charlie were also a bit moved by this prayer and at that moment right there and then, all five sitting at the table preparing for their Thanksgiving dinner felt like a true close family fully complete.
"That's was pretty good Cas" Sam replied.
"Yeah, good prayer" Dean added.
"Happy Thanksgiving everybody" Adam replied.
"Same here" added Charlie.
"A Happy Thanksgiving" both Dean and Sam said at the same time.
"Okay, lets eat already, I'm starving" Adam cried out. With that they all digged in at their nice holiday meal, talking, joking, laughing and enjoying their dinner all together like a happy family.
Epilogue
Chuck(narrating) "With the curse of the Darkness now locked away again, the earth is now saved from it's destruction. Although Dean and Sam weren't the ones who defeated Darkness, they get to delight in its removal as a threat to earth and humanity. However, the world isn't entirely safe. Supernatural beings such as monsters, evil spirits, demons, witches and other evil creatures that go bump in the night still roam the world, being a threat to humankind. As long as the threat continues, Dean and Sam's battles with the evil in the world and to save humankind will go on. However, the Winchesters are not alone. They now have others they hold dear in their lives and the numbers have grown. They will continue to make room for these new people in their lives as time goes by. Castiel will continue his time on earth as he tries to find out his true mission that God has informed him about that he must complete. It won't be smooth sailing for either of them. They will still face danger, adventures with their close ones sharing in the battles on some of them, and they will have their ups and downs as relationships will be tested and there will be new discoveries that will seriously affect them. But they will face those when it comes and strive to overcome every single one of them. But right now, that night on a Thanksgiving holiday, the Winchesters just enjoy their dinner with their new formed family and nothing matters at that special moment".
To Be continued.
This is the end of my fanfiction which took a long time to finish. I will doing a sequel, I don't know when exactly but I might post them by next month. Although the TV series is coming to an end this fall, I have so much stories I want to tell of the Winchesters in their adventures but I will try not to take as long to finish that fanfic like I did this one. There might be at least a third sequel after that. Anyway I all hope you enjoyed my Supernatural fanfic even though it was quite long. Please post your reviews on fanfic, no matter what good or bad. Thanks again everybody and I'm now prepared for my next story Supernatural.
