Luciano looked around the store in awe. He had never been inside a Walmart before. Sure they had plenty of grocery stores in Italy, but something about Walmart felt more exciting. Allen chuckled seeing the look on the boy's face.
"Okay Luci what do you want for supper?" Allen asked as he grabbed a cart.
"Pasta." Luciano replied, staring up at him with puppy dog eyes.
"Sure." Allen didn't know one thing about making pasta, but that's what google is for. He led the boy to the toy's aisle. "Okay pick out any toy that's in a reasonable price range that you want okay. I'm going to get the rest of the groceries, don't move from this area." Allen told Luciano before he left to grab the rest of the groceries. The kid was a former mafia boss, he should be able to look after himself for a few minutes.
Luciano looked up at all the toys in amazement. Everything seemed so exciting to his four year old mind. After walking for a while, he stumbled upon the area where they keep the stuffed animals. He grabbed a stuffed light blue rabbit from the shelves with a big smile on his face as he hugged the rabbit to his chest. He plopped himself down onto the floor, waiting for Allen to come get him.
"Excuse me are you lost?"
Luciano looked up to see a young woman with blonde hair in a bob cut, wearing the Walmart employee uniform, which consisted of a blue vest and black pants. Why did she think he was lost? He knew exactly where he was and that Allen was going to be here any second. He shook his head no, with a scowl on his face, glaring at her. Maybe she would get the hint that he wanted to be left alone
"Where are your parents?" The woman asked, kneeling in front of him. Apparently she didn't get the hint. He noticed that her name tag read 'Karen'. He narrowed his eyes at her, what parents? What was she talking about?
"What happened to your cheek? " Why was this woman asking all these questions? Didn't she have better things to do than bother him, like do her job. If only Allen would have let him keep his knives on him, or even just one, then he wouldn't have to deal with his lady.
"Did you find what toy you wanted Luciano?" Allen asked, his cart was filled with all the things they needed.
Luciano smiled, finally able to get away from the woman. "Allen!" He beamed as he ran over to Allen, hugging his leg.
"Sir is this your kid?" Karen questioned,
"Yeah why?" Allen replied, glaring at the woman.
"It was very irresponsible of you to leave him unattended. What kind of parent are you?" Karen scolded, wagging her finger at him. "Who in their right mind would leave a four year old boy alone in a huge store?"
"First off lady, you don't even know me so why don't you mind your own business. And second, I think I'm doing a great job as a parent!" Allen retorted before turning around, taking Luciano with him. Leaving the lady far behind them, both of them hoping never to see the lady ever again.
