Listening to "Meet the Plastics" from Mean Girls while writing this. You'll see that in the end. Only Verity and Joy belong to me. Other than them, everything belongs to JK Rowling. Just a one-shot about Ginny Weasley, the Slytherin Queen (because no matter what house, Ginny is our Queen.

Ginny was in a daze when the hat called out Slytherin. She could remember exactly what it said:

Courage and bravery, but something else. Ah, yes. You would do fine in Gryffindor, but- Do you want what's best for you?

You don't want to put me in Gryffindor, Ginny realized.

Would you face being in Slytherin if it was what was best for you?

Ginny thought for a little bit. Yes, yes I would, she thought back. She was meek and nothing like a Slytherin, but Ginny wasn't like her family. She was resourcful and ambitious.

You know your brother Percy was almost a Slytherin? He said no when I asked. A pity... off you go, young snake.

"Slytherin!"

And... no one cheered or clapped. Except for one girl. Verity Allina had been the second sorted (Hannah Abbot had gone first), and she was sorted into Slytherin, just like Ginny.

"Woooooo! Stick it to your red and gold family! Go Ginny!" She began clapping hard and, one by one, her fellow housemates clapped too. Her brothers look thunderstruck, and Ron looked furious.

Ginny also remembered when she first met Verity, on Platform 9 3/4. Ginny had been standing with her mum, waiting patiently for fer hug and kiss good bye. Suddenly, a girl fell right next to her. She had curly strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes.

"Hello!" the girl exclaimed after popping up from the ground. "I'm Verity Allina. What house do you want to be in?" Ginny's mum interrupted.

"Our entire family has been in Gryffindor." Verity blinked, then laughed.

"I-I think you misunderstand me. What house do you want?" Ginny stared.

"Everyone in my family has been Gryffindor." Verity laughed again.

"Really? Pardon my French, but screw them! You don't have to be your family, you can be you. Hey, what's your name?"

"Ginny. Well, Ginerva, but- call me Ginny."

"Cool. I'm hoping to be a Slytherin. All my family is Hufflepuff, so they'll be mad. A frankly don't care. Want to sit with me on the train ride?" And Ginny had looked at Verity and saw everything Ginny wished she was: outgoing, funny, confident... Ginny looked at her and said:

"Yes, yes I do."

And that was how they were here. Ginny was a lot of firsts. The first female Weasley, and the first Slytherin Weasley. Verity stood up.

"Well?" Verity had asked, standing up and holding out her hand. Ginny raised her chin and strode over, grabbing her hand. "Wait, it's missing something," Verity said. She then turned to a girl. "Gemma, can you-" she whispered the rest of her phrase. Gemma nodded, and flicker her wand at Ginny. Verity handed Ginny a mirror.

A green and silver headband was perched in her flaming red hair, and her school robes had shifted into Slytherin. Not normal Slytherin though. There was no over-robe, and simply her skirt, sweater, button up and tie. It was a bow tie though, different and went really well with her look. Ginny smiled, and sat down. Verity sat down next to her. There was more silence.

"Well?" Ginny asked, getting a sudden burst of confidence. "Are you lot all going to stare, or are we going to eat?" The Slytherin table erupted into laughter. Now, all the Slytherins were in their common room, staring at Ginny.

"Honestly!" A girl with long, red-brown hair stood up on a table. "My name is Joy Copper, and I'm a muggleborn! Yes, a muggleborn in Slytherin! But listen here: people attribute Gryffindor with bravery and Hufflepuff with loyalty. Well, guess what? All the other three houses hate us because of something we had no control over! We have to stick together, and it doesn't matter if we're muggleborn, or blood traitors, or anything else. Above all, we're Slytherins. Agreed?"

Everyone stared at the first year. "Agreed," Ginny said. She did the traditional toast, raising your wand and lighting the tip.

"Agreed." Verity and Gemma raised theirs. Soon, everyone had theirs raised. Joy nodded, and jumped off. She walked up to Verity and Ginny.

"So... wanna be friends?" Joy asked, a little awkwardly. And all three of the couldn't help it; they burst into laughter. Their dormmate, Daphne Greengrass joined their little group later that night. And she had brought out a record for some song she called 'Meet the Plastics' (I know Mean Girls wasn't around, but I was listening to it as I wrote and couldn't help myself!). She skipped to the end.

"Say..." Joy sung.

"Say..." Verity followed.

"Say.." Daphne added.

Ginny beamed. "Here's where you/I belong!" Then Verity flounced up to Ginny and said,

"Come sit with tomorrow; it'll be fetch!"

They were laughing so hard Gemma had to come and quiet them.
