Izuku walked the paths in heaven looking for his round cheeked angel friend. If anyone could shred some light on this situation it would be her, but he had to tread lightly. If it appeared as though he was truly questioning the angels…it wouldn't end well.
"Ochako-chan!" Izuku hollered at his friend with a wave. Brown eyes turned up to meet his gaze and a smile spread across her face.
"Zuzu! You did it! Glad you saved that girl!" she exclaimed while she threw herself into Izuku's arms. The greenette simply hummed in agreement, even though he was not the one responsible for saving that girl. The weary angel pulled back to look at Ochako.
"Can…Can I ask you a question?" he asked with hesitance. Ochako tilted her head in slight confusion and furrowed her eyebrows.
"Of course, you can Izuku. What's wrong?" she asked with concern in her voice. Izuku glanced down at the ground before stumbling over the wording of his question.
"I…I know Bakugou is responsible for taking many innocents," he stated, even though it was a lie. An angel lying. Well, this wasn't a good start. "I've…I have never seen the records though. I…can I see them? I'd like to study them?" He asked with no confidence. It was an excuse that should work. Every soul, what they did, and where they went was on record. Izuku was also someone that loved taking notes and making observations. Makes sense, right? Ochako scrunched up her face in irritation before sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Seeing all the hurt he has done makes me so angry!" she exclaimed before puffing out her cheeks in annoyance. "But it makes sense for you to know everything. Come on," she turned and beckoned him with a hand to follow.
Izuku was in the giant library of records looking at all the people Bakugou had supposedly wrongfully taken, but he couldn't seem to make any connections. He'd been pouring over these records for hours, and nothing made sense. The victims had nothing in common. Nothing. The only thing they had in common was Bakugou chose to take them to hell. It was clear he was choosing who he brought because there were so many more he could take if he had no motivation. So…what was the demon trying to do? Izuku sighed and placed his head in his hands. He didn't want to, but he was going to ask the demon himself.
A loud thud sounded through the alley way as a man slammed a woman into the brick wall.
"Give me all you got!" he told her angrily. The woman shook as she reached into her purse for her wallet, but the man's eye turned wide when he heard a bang and pain in his abdomen. The woman pushed him to the ground and ran while he was trying to put together the woman had shot him.
"Well. You should have learned your lesson," Bakugou said. The man whipped around to see the demon with his red horns and black suit.
"What the hell? Who are you?!" the man screamed. Bakugou rolled his red eyes and clicked his tongue.
"I am here to take your extra ass to hell, asshole," he countered. The man's eyes and movements become frantic at this statement.
"What?! No…No! I can't go to hell! I was wrongfully killed! I did nothing wrong!" he cried. The demon grabbed the man by his collar and pulled him harshly to look at his eyes.
"Nothing wrong?! Your extra ass has been robbing and murdering people for years! This girl just finally ended you. Now, you have to pay up," a malicious smile spread across the demons face at his last statement. However, the blonde's attention was drawn away by a cough. There in the alley stood a boy with a mop of green hair and a halo. "Hey. I don't know what you're doing here, but this extra is mine," Bakugou hissed. Izuku put his hands up in surrender before speaking.
"No no. I am not here for him. I actually wish to talk to you," he said quietly. The blonde raised his eyebrow at the statement before getting irritated and dropping the man on the ground again. Well, his soul at least.
"Look. I am just doing my job. Tell your angel freaks to leave me alone," he growled while reaching for the soul that was crawling away.
"This…this is…um…personal business actually," the greenette stuttered out, and Bakugou slowly turned to look over his shoulder at the angel before he sighed.
"You know what? Fine. I'll allow your angel ass to attempt to humor me. Let me bring this extra downstairs, and we can talk," he begrudgingly agreed. Izuku's face lit up at the thought.
"Thank you! Where can I meet you?" he asked as red spoke began to envelope the demon.
"UA Coffee shop," was all the demon said before he vanished. Izuku began running toward the shop. Running toward his answers.
Izuku sat at a table in a small coffee shop with a green hoodie on and jeans. Angels could make themselves appear however they chose to avoid suspicion. His head laid on his head while he stared at his latte. What was he doing? What was he going to say? What was he going to ask? What if the demon didn't want to answer his questions? What if-
His inner thoughts, and mumbling, when an ash blonde walked in. Izuku refuses to accept his following thoughts: This man looked drop dead gorgeous. He wore black combat boots that he tucked his black jeans into that hugged in all the right places. That ass. How? How was it even possible to have that nice of an ass, and have it look THAT good in jeans? His torso was covered with a white shirt with an orange "X" on it, and a green jacket on top. Whenever the demon moved, Izuku could see the shirt cling to the demon's pecs. Izuku was drooling. Well…he would have been if he thought any of that. However, an angel would never find a demon attractive…Izuku would be keeping this experience in the very deepest depths of his mind. Bakugou gave a nod when he saw Izuku before ordering a cold brew and sitting down.
"Alright. What do you want?" the blonde asked before taking a drink of his coffee. Izuku's mind was blank, and stumbled over his words.
"Well. Um. I…um…I saw you…and it didn't make sense. I am not following you though! I suppose I did to ask you to talk, but I wasn't before that! I just…things aren't adding up, and I-," Izuku stumbled through his jumbled thoughts before the demon stopped him.
"Look. I don't have time to hear you mumble, you dumbass. What did you want to talk about?" he asks with irritation. The angel sits up tall, and takes a big breath to calm himself. It's now or never.
"As I am sure you know, Heaven blames you for taken numerous innocent souls to hell. We have records of you stealing souls from us. So why did you help that girl?" his curiosity and confusion clear in his voice. Bakugou looked uninterested until the last sentence, then his head snapped up to meet Izuku's gaze. Eyes wide in shock.
"How did you know about that?" the demon asked.
"I was sent to save the soul they believed you were trying to steal, but when I got there you were doing my job," the angel explained. Bakugou's nostrils flare and he grit his teeth before leaning across the table in anger.
"I was not doing your job," he seethed. "You dumbass angels take people that don't deserve to be in heaven. If it were your choice, you would have let her come to hell had she ended her life," he said with venom. Izuku was shocked at the change in the demon's demeanor, so he did not think before he spoke.
"Unfortunately, if she had taken her life, we would have had to let her go to hell," he said pleadingly with his hands in the air to signal surrender. Bakugou slammed his fist into the table.
"That's exactly what I mean! You angel freaks have everything fucking backwards. Everyone I take deserves it. You can't tell me you don't remember people from your human life that shouldn't be in heaven. You have the records! Why don't you watch them instead of being a damn extra!? This is bullshit. I'm out of here. If you decide to get your head out of your damn ass, and see that the angels are the ones that are fucked up, come find me. Until then, make sure I don't see you," the blonde said before storming out of the coffee shop.
Izuku sat in the library thinking over the conversation with Bakugou. Nothing made sense on numerous levels. Everything contradicted. Bakugou said that the angels let bad people in, while the angels would say they would never do that. Bakugou said he only took people that deserved it, but the angels say he steals souls. Bakugou saved that girl, while the angels said he was trying to steal her. Izuku let his head fall into his arms. His mind was exhausted from running around in circles trying to understand contradiction after contradiction. The angel sat up and ran his hands down his face, while debating what to do and looking at the records he pulled before. The demon had said look at the records, but why would the angels lie? The greenette worried his bottom lip because he shouldn't be questioning his fellow angels. If the was nothing in the files though, there shouldn't be an issue. His leg bounced as he opened the first file to analyze it again, and looked for clues. He continued for hours. Ripping his hair out. Chewing his nails off. Writing what he thought to be leads down furiously. Finally, he threw his journal and pencil in anger.
"There is nothing here! Why did I waste my time?!" he said as he pushed himself from the table. The movement caused a file to fall, and a disk to fall out. Izuku reached out, and when his fingers touched the disk a voice rang in his head. "You have the records! Why don't you watch them?!" Watch them? Angels hadn't watched souls' human lives for… he didn't even remember. It was too much to watch, record, and evaluate. Now they monitored, took notes, and whoever wrote the file said if they belonged in Heaven. Izuku slowly turned to the three-dimensional projector, and looked between the two items nervously. Gingerly, he put the disk in, and watched.
