This has been finished for practically forever, and I'm proud of myself for finally publishing it. *Pats self on back*

GUESS WHAT? This chapter is over 2,000 words long (2,674) which holds the record for being the longest thing I've written ever. Since I'm publishing this on the day after Father's Day (it's 12:30am), it's dedicated to todd3773 ('cause that's my dad's account)

There's a bit of Jiper in here. :D

On with the show...

Piper gazed back at Annabeth's sleeping figure, unable to contain her giddy smile. This is going to be epic, a part of herself said, Annabeth is going to hate me after this, the other part of her said- she decided to listen to the first part. This was going to be epic. After carefully easing the door open, she crept into the hallway. Everything was so quiet and still; almost unnaturally so. Usually there were students and staff bustling around, either cleaning or on their own individual missions. The bay windows that lined the walls in between the dorms showed a midnight sky, and the light of the full moon shrouded everything in shadow.

Maneuvering around the school was like navigating a minefield. At any moment someone could turn the corner, and Pipers' mission might be jeopardized completely. You could never be too careful, nonetheless, she still looked ridiculous in her all black clothing and creeping around like a ninja. At last, the stainless steel, double doors of the kitchen came into view. It too, was devoid of human life.

She crept into the large pantry and desperately tried to remember her conversation from earlier in the evening. Piper and Annabeth had been sitting across from one another on their beds, bundled in their coziest pajamas. Annabeth was sporting a fuzzy purple owl onesie, Piper in her favorite Cherokee Eagle flannels. The fire incident had left them (mostly Annabeth) a bit shaken, so naturally, they decided to have a sleepover and movie night; even though they 'slept over' every night, considering they were already roommates. After a brief spat on what to watch, they decided on Newsies, and settled down to watch- only moving once the credits rolled.

"Have you ever known anyone who has gone here?" Piper inquired.

Annabeth paused to think, "Yeah, my dad used to teach here as a American and Military professor before West Point, and I used to come to work with him when my babysitter was unavailable, so I know most of the older professors. Oh, and one of my oldest friends, Thalia, was here for a semester a few years ago before she got expelled and joined an all-girls traveling group." she chuckled, "and we can't forget the Stoll brothers, Travis graduated last year but Conner is still here, you'll probably meet him eventually. Did you know they keep a secret stash of pranking supplies in the kitchen?"

"Ohhh really," Piper said perhaps a little too earnestly, leaning closer to her friend. Annabeth studied her strangely but kept talking.

"Yeah, it's in the very back of the pantry disguised as a box of peas no one has ever used. I thought about turning them in when I first found out, but after listening to enough of my dad's stories and lectures, I realized this place could use some chaos every once in a while."

They talked until the sun had long since set, and Annabeth fell asleep. Piper however, was wide awake. She had the makings of a master plan swirling, and it involved some certain pranksters not-so-secret secret supply.

She saw why the twins had chosen the pantry as their hideaway. It was stuffed to the brim with supplies so staff weren't likely to find it by accident, and it blended in well with everything else, but not too well. The box of peas was easy to spot, mostly because it had a big, ugly picture of peas on it and looked as if it had been opened and moved a lot more than anything else in there. Piper opened it hungrily, inside- every prank supply you could imagine. Everything from Silly String and Duct tape to illegal fireworks, all at her disposal. But right now you are only here for one thing, remember, she mentally chided, and there it is.

Piper reached down and secured her prize: a small, bright-red air horn. She was so excited, she forgot one important thing- to look where she was going. By the time she saw the guy standing in the hall with arms full of cookies, it was too late.

Jason glared at the large bag or blue chocolate chip cookies in his hand. Of course, it was not their fault he was standing in the school kitchen at one o'clock, but he needed something to blame.

After the fire, Percy was shamed into hiding. It seemed he thought he was going to be known as the person who got bitten by a fish for the rest of his life. News flash, people usually forget those kinds of details in a day or two. Unfortunately for Jason, hiding means making a huge blanket fort and making his roommate get up and do everything for him so he didn't have to move.

Percy's mom sent him a huge supply of cookies, so he was here; microwaving them because Percy said: "they tasted better warm". He had no idea how mailing so many cookies in the mail could possibly be legal, but she sent twenty-something, and Jason was struggling to carry them all.

About halfway to the dorm, he dropped one and leaned down to pick it up (five-second rule right?) when someone rammed right into him. Jason tumbled onto the ground, fumbling to preserve the cookies he had been sent to protect. His attacker launched forward and landed awkwardly on top of him. He found himself staring straight into her kaleidoscope eyes, she looked startled but under that- a sparkle of mischief, he gazed into them mesmerized.

Regaining himself, Jason rocketed forward and Piper fell off him and onto the floor with Percy's cookies.

"I'm so sorry! I acted without thinking," he said hoisting her up, and unnecessarily dusting off her Power Ranger pjs. She chuckled.

"Don't worry about it, I ran into you first, remember?"

"I remember," he said, rubbing the back of his neck and gazing at his shoes. Silence reigned, you could cut the tension in the air with a knife.

"Soooo, umm, I'm Piper by the way." she said after a minute or two in an effort to dissolve the awkwardness in the air.

"What are you doing out of your dorm this late at night?"

"Uhhh, I'm Jason and my roommate asked me to warm up his cookies. What are you doing?"

Piper laughed, "I'm playing a prank on my roommate." she held up a small air horn. Her face got dreamy for a second, and her eyes took on a familiar glint.

"You know what," she said misterviously, "you should come too"

NO! I mean, that's not very nice is it, we shouldn't be doing that kind of thing. This is a prestigious academy after all." he rambled pathetically. She held up her airhorn and grabbed his arm, "This place could use a bit of chaos."

"I still don't think we should be doing this," Jason said for the umpteenth time.

"Oh come on!" Piper exclaimed. They were standing outside Piper's dorm room, and she was buzzing with excitement. She eased the door open and yanked Jason inside. They positioned themselves over Annabeth's sleeping form.

She looked so peaceful sleeping, Piper almost felt bad about what they were going to do. Almost. With a finger to her lips, Jason and herself crowded around Annabeths' slumbering figure

She held her finger to her lips, Jason looked terrified but joined her beside her roomies' bed. 1-2-3, BWAAAHPP!

Annabeth launched out of bed without as much as a small shriek. She punched Jason square in the jaw, and he collapsed. Piper was left all alone with a deadly warrior princess. She gripped Piper's wrist, and with a sleepy glaze still in her eyes- flipped her new best friend over her shoulder.

Piper landed limply beside the knocked out Jason just in time to witness Annabeth slip on the forgotten airhorn. Almost as if in slow motion she fell, landing on her ankle, and with a loud crunch, it twisted at an abnormal angle.

A cold shiver overswept her, and she screamed out in pain, then carefully inspected the limb, "definitely broken." Annabeth murmured. A woozy feeling overswept her and she collapsed onto the hardwood with a dull thud.

Percy woke up to a terrifying scream. He fell out of his fort and ran outside to see what all the commotion was about. What he might scar him forever. Jason lay unconscious on the floor, a brunette girl was sitting on the floor holding a pretty blonde, who was also unconscious with what looked like a broken ankle.

"So, what am I seeing here?" The brunette turned to him and he immediately recognized her from the fish encounter (the eyes were a dead giveaway).

"I wanted to play a prank on Annabeth here and ran into your friend Jason on the way back from warming up your cookies. I assume you're Percy? Anyway, I dragged him into it, and apparently, my roommate here has impeccable self- defense skills. She knocked Jason out, judo flipped me, then slipped and broke her ankle."

He sat there dumbfounded. How had that blonde managed to take out his cousin, who had been taking self-defense classes for as long as either of them could remember? This lady was awesome! And she is kind of knocked out on the floor right now...

"Do you need some help with her?"

"Uh, yeah." Piper said, "do you know how to care for someone with a broken ankle?" she said, still cradling her friend on the floor.

"No, but I can carry her to the infirmary."

"Okay, that works too," she said. Piper handed him Annabeth, and he cradled her gently.

"Where's the infirmary?" She laughed.

"In the third hallway, fifth door on the left."

"Thanks."

Percy carried Annabeth to the infirmity, and the nurse was in fits. Though he would be too if he'd been woken up to take care of a broken ankle in the middle of the night. Ms. Jacobson, however grumpy, immediately jumped into action. She took the teen from him and laid her gently on a bed.

"Now, young man, you go get the rest of your little friends. I have something I need to discuss with them." the frenzied nurse demanded . Then, she leaned over Annabeth still muttering things about broken ankles and inconsiderate millennials.

Piper and Jason got off with a week of detention. Jason was pissed, but Percy knew that they had been let off easy.

"I can't believe I got detention before the school year even started!" he exclaimed, again.

"Oh shut up Jason," Piper scolded, "it was fun," but even she seemed humbled by her roommate lying fast asleep in the hospital wing.

"Well, I think we should all go to sleep now. We can go visit Annabeth in the morning."

He and Jason waved goodbye to Piper and entered their dorm room, falling right into a light, restless sleep.

That Next Day:

Annabeth woke up with a pounding headache. This is not my bed. Why is my ankle in a cast? Suddenly, it all flooded back to her. Piper was there, an airhorn. A tall blonde guy, who I punched? I slipped and broke my ankle. Then, a boy with eyes the color of the sea carried me here. The hospital wing. The hospital wing.

She felt a lot better now that she knew where she was and what had gotten her there. The pain in her ankle was clouding her mind making it nearly impossible to think, which frustrated her to no end. Her eyelids felt heavy, and she surrendered again to her exhaustion.

Percy couldn't sleep and decided to go check on Annabeth without either Piper or Jason. He walked into the infirmary and found the bed where she was sleeping. Her ankle was wrapped in a sky blue cast, and he pulled out the Sharpie he had grabbed just in case.

Amazing self- defense skills back there. -Percy

He sat in the chair for visitors by her bed. I'll just wait here until Jason and Piper get up and come down here. His eyes settled on Annabeth, her forehead was slightly scrunched up, but she looked so serene. He sat there until at last his hours of missed sleep caught up, and he drifted off slumped against the chair.

When Annabeth woke again, there was a person sleeping in the chair. He had raven black hair sticking every which way, and was snoring slightly. Oh! Also drooling- a lot. She snickered. The sound must have alerted the sleeping boy, because his eyes immediately fluttered open, and with a little yawn turned to look at her.

When they locked eyes, it was almost magic. His wide ocean blue spheres gazing into her calculating grey ones. It was a comfortable silence, but she felt the need to end it.

"So, are you the one who carried me here?"

"Uh, yeah" He ran his fingers through his hair nervously.

"I'm Annabeth by the way."

"Yeah, I kinda figured," he chuckled, "Well, I should probably go- Piper will want to know you're awake." He gave her a warm smile and walked out of the infirmary.

Percy briskly walked out of the hospital wing, his face burning from his awkward encounter with the blonde. He pulled out his key, and unlocked the dorm room door. Jason was not there. He crossed the hallway, and pulled the extra key from underneath Piper and Annabeths' welcome mat. Which looked like Come In upon entering, and Go Away when leaving.

Piper was on her bed, and Jason on the floor, their arms were outstretched towards the other, almost as if they'd fallen asleep holding hands. Wow. What did I miss?

Sniggering, Percy grabbed the airhorn off Annabeth's bed (which had surprisingly not been confiscated), and gave it one small press. BWAHP!

Jason flung forward and covered his face, "Please don't kill me!" While Percy was wheezing with uproarious laughter, Piper sat up groggily, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"Whats up dudes?" she yawned.

Recovering from his hysteria, Percy reminded himself of the mission at hand. "Annabeth's awake." And as if he'd let a man eating shark loose in the room, his two companions shoved past him and shot out the door at record speed. (Mostly Piper was rocketing, but Jason said he had to chase after her in case something happened. Seriously, did he miss something?) Percy had already gotten his visitors time, so it was his friend's turn. He walked calmly to the infirmary, casually resting against the wall. When they barreled in, Annabeth was lounging on her hospital bed resting her eyes, inwardly bracing herself for the inevitable.

"ANNABETH!" Piper gripped her friend tightly, "Are you okay? Comfortable?" She looked distraught, and close to tears, reaching down and fluffing her friend's pillows over and over.

"I'm such a terrible friend. I'm so sorry, please forgive me! This is all my fault." Her friend kept rambling and fluffing her pillows frantically. Annabeth wanted to laugh, but instead worked to comfort her best friend. She gripped Pipers still pillow-fluffing hands, "Calm down, I'm fine, or as fine as I can be all things considered," she gestured vaguely to her broken ankle, "Besides, I am going to be alright, and I don't blame you. So what is there to cry about?"

Piper hugged her again, gentler, and sobbed silently into her shoulder. Annabeth stroked her hair, and whispered reassuringly. Her eyes met Percy's once again, and she could see a sparkle of amusement in his eyes. They one who ought to be comforted, comforting the one who ought to be comforting her, he seemed to say. But she didn't mind, and so they sat silently in the infirmary, Piper crying, and Annabeth comforting her while keeping Percy's gaze. Jason on the other side of Piper holding her hand (did she miss something?)

The four of them became friends that day- without having to say the words, and moments like these, though special and few, only made it concrete strong.

All done, hope you enjoyed.
