Hey peoples!

This is dedicated to my friend Awna. Get better soon. :(

On with the show...

Annabeth stared at the tv listlessly, where an unknown movie played. Piper seemed completely enthralled, but Annabeh had stopped paying attention after the 75th movie, in the second week. Having a broken ankle sucks! The only thing keeping her going was the promise of schedules later that day and school next monday.

She looked at the clock again. Still 11:45- just like five seconds ago. Distribution started at noon. So close... Annabeth fidgeted in her seat; eye's flitted everywhere but the ticking clock. The broken lamp that she'd thrown at Percy. That day-old chocolate milk spill. Piper's nonchalant expression. She was lounging on her bed, watching the movie. Face and body totally slack. 15 minutes felt like an infinity away.

Her mind drifted to Percy- and Jason of course, they had probably forgotten all about schedules. It had been almost a week since she'd seen them, but before that, all Annabeth did was remind them over and over. It was circled in red, blue, and green on their calendar. But if their time together had proven anything- Percy forgot.

At last, minutes were down to seconds and Annabeth was up- grabbing her crutch and hobbling out of the dorm with Piper close behind.

"Annabeth, where are we going?"

"Don't tell me you forgot!" She exclaimed. Percy hadn't been reminded in a week- but Piper. Piper had been reminded every minute of everyday until it was ingrained in her memory. Supposedly.

"What did I forget?" Piper ventured after a few moments of murderous silence.

"Schedules!" Annabeth grabbed her friend's arm and continued to hobble to the auditorium. She didn't have the time to be truly angry.

"WAIT! I forgot the boys." Piper's arm hurt from all the dragging. Not even bothering to knock, she burst into the room. Sure enough, the boys were not getting their schedules. They were playing a board game.

Jason recognized the rage in her eyes and got up and hid behind Piper. Leaving Percy victim all but himself.

Percy could only brace himself.

"YOU FORGETFUL DUCK! CAN YOU NOT REMEMBER ONE SINGLE, IMPORTANT THING? THERE ARE SIGNS EVERYWHERE, IN NEON ORANGE! IT'S CIRCLED ON YOUR CALENDAR IN THREE COLORS! SCHEDULES. TODAY. NOW!" How Annabeth managed to pull three shocked and struggling students all the way to the auditorium on a broken ankle remains a mystery.

They sat in the auditorium awkwardly while the Principal wheeled his way slowly across the stage. Inch, by inch, by inch. Mr. Brunner was middle-aged, his hair was thinning, and he wore a tweed jacket that always smelled like coffee. Annabeth knew him from her dad's time at Princeton- and they emailed frequently. He was like her second father.

"Welcome students to Princeton Academy, I hope you are all settling in nicely. This year is going to be amazing. Now, if you would all line up, we can yet your schedule to you lickety-split." The school groaned. Annabeth stood up and cupped her hands to her mouth like a megaphone,

"Nobody says that anymore Chiron!" she shouted. He smiled.

"Exactly Annabeth, It's what makes me vintage." Cue more groans.

Piper glanced at her best friend, what was that? She just smirked, and grabbed her forearm. Same with Percy and Jason, and made their way into the line.

The line was long, and they were behind a spanish woman with a dark braid straight down her back. Jason stared at her strangely, squinting so you could barely see his eyes. Only when her name was called for schedules did his eyes widen in obvious recognition.

"REYNA!" he called out to her. She jumped. And immediately assumed a defensive stance.

"Do I know you?" She said, her black eyes piercing.

"Jason. From Camp Jupiter Defence Arts?" he ventured. She softened visibly, and broke into a huge smile.

"Senātus Populusque Rōmānus. How could I forget? What ever happened to you anyway?" Jason shrugged, "Moved to Manhattan."

"Who are your new friends?" Reyna gestured to Piper, Annabeth, and Percy standing awkwardly behind him. Annabeth was trying to discreetly slink away, while Percy gripped her shirt sleeve, preventing escape. She immediately regained her composure when she felt attention drawn towards them.

"My name is Annabeth Chase, and this is Piper Mclean and Percy Jackson." she said. Reyna analyzed them, glaring at Piper especially.

"Well, nice seeing you again Jason. Great meeting you all." She waved goodbye.

!TIME SKIP OF AWESOMENESS!

Annabeth came into room 186 at 6:00 with pot lids (where did she even get those?!.)

"FIRST," bang, "DAY," bang, "OF," bang, "SCHOOL!" She kept banging the pot lids until Percy and Jason were awake and begging for her to stop.

"Alright, alright we're up!" Percy complained, his raven black hair was messier than usual and he had drool on the side of his mouth. Jason wiped the sleep from his electric blue eyes. Satisfied, Annabeth turned to leave.

"Get ready for school! Oh, and Percy- you drool when you sleep." she said, closing their door behind her. He stared at the closed door, mindlessly wiping the drool away. Too tired to think much. He grabbed an energy drink and a coffee and dragged his feet to Homeroom. I hate morning people. I hate mornings.

He slumped in one of the hard plastic seats of the classroom scanning the room lazily. There was a small african american girl sitting in the middle rows. Beside her- a tall chinese guy. An elfish latino guy in the back with a trouble maker's smile sitting by Jason and Piper. There was one emo kid, and one who embodied all things sunshine. Annabeth in the seat beside him, smiling at him with that smile of hers. He smiled weakly back, keeping eye contact as he loosened the lid of his coffee. Percy poured the energy drink into the cup, screwed the lid back on, and chugged.

Annabeth stifled her laughter as Percy gagged at the horrible taste of his extra energy concoction. The teacher came into the classroom.

"Hello my name is Mr. D. Get to know each other." he yawned. Shuffling to his seat, he sat down and went to sleep. The other students eyed each other warily.

"LEO MCSHIZZLE MAN IN THE HOUSE!" The latino elf climbed on a desk and bowed overdramatically. Everyone laughed and introduced themselves.

The African American girl was named Hazel Levesque. She was an equestrian and loved to draw.

The tall chinese guy was Frank Zhang. He had a strange obsession with animals.

Emo kid was Nico Di Angelo

Mr. Sunshine= Will Solace

The crazy trouble maker was- of course- Leo Valdez

The 45 minute block was spent messing around and getting to know each other. Five minutes before the out bell rang Mr. D woke up.

"I want you punks to do a one page essay about yourself" he gurgled, "due tomorrow," before escaping back to his nap. The whole classroom groaned (minus Hazel and Frank- they were too nice for that). That guy shouldn't be able to sleep the entire block then assign work due the next day. UHG!

-Time Skip to after school-

The nine of them decided it would be more fun to do the assignment together. I guess 45 minutes in a classroom together can really solidify a friendship. So they were in the library. It was pretty quiet except for the clicking of Leo's pen. He was typing, why did he even need a pen?!

Percy couldn't focus. For some reason his eyes kept drifting to Annabeth sitting in front of him. He didn't know how he'd never noticed before, but her forehead creased when she was focusing. And her eyes looked somehow softer as she typed. Like all that existed was her and that paper she was writing. She kept pushing her curls back behind her ear and looked miffed when it slid it back.

He got up and tapped Hazel on the shoulder.
"Do you have a hair tie?"

"Yeah.." She sounded confused, but handed him one anyway. He took the black elastic and tapped Annabeth.
"Do you want me to braid your hair?" he whispered.
"Uhhhh...I guess? Percy jumped into action, expertly french braiding her hair. Oh my gods, her hair is so soft! It smells like lemons!

Annabeth fingered her newly braided hair and looked up at Percy. Who knew he could braid?! No one had done her hair since the last day of fifth grade. His hands are so soft!

"How did you learn to braid." she whispered. Percy shrugged.
"When it was just me and my mom, she worked at a candy store called Sweet America. I used to do her hair for her before she went to work."
"That is so sweet!"
"Yeah, I guess."

"How many of you are going to the School Dance next week? Frank asked.

"What school dance?" Percy questioned. Annabeth sighed.
"Every year there is a dance to celebrate the beginning of the school year." She answered.

"Maybe we could all go together," Piper said enthusiastically. Everyone agreed. Annabeth snuck one last look at Percy. She couldn't wait.

I am really excited for the next chapter. THE DANCE! I have been planning that dance since chapter one. So stay tuned for that.
