Better Together Chapter 10: "Raiders Of The Iron Vulture Part 1"

GiddyReflections: Thanks, I'm using the suggestion you gave me! :D I have no idea what happened with chapter 226 of Nobody Listens, because there weren't any typos or missing words when I wrote it- I even had someone reread it for me! O-O I wonder if fanfiction somehow modified it; I have no idea lol. But anyway, it's been edited now. :) I make my art on SketchBook if you're wondering.

I am updating Enough and Nobody Listens today! Enjoy! ^v^

Also, I just made an account on FictionPress, which is like fanfiction except for original works. I haven't posted anything yet though lol.

Louie lay down on his bed and stared blankly into space.

"So, any big plans for today?" Huey asked him. It was just another Sunday at McDuck manor.

"Eh. Dunno." Louie replied simply.

"You know, you should tell June." Huey was sitting upright in in his seat with a protractor, doing some school project. He turned on a grey lamp, illuminating the paper he was measuring the angles on.

"Tell her what exactly, Hubert?!"

"You know what." Huey grinned, "Tell June that you LIKE her!"

Louie threw a pillow at him, "EW!" he seethed but gave in, "But you're not completely wrong. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go over to her house. Just don't tell Dewey, 'cause…" Louie leaned out of his bed and opened the window.

The blue-clad duckling was sitting in the front of McDuck manor, next to the pile of money (money fountain?) in the front of the house. He had his matching blue phone in his hand.

"Hey Lou-Lou! Can I add some music to your video and post it?" he waved the phone.

Louie gave him a death glare and Dewey dropped the phone in alarm, "Uhhhhhhh….yeah, um, pretend I never asked!"

Louie closed the window and Huey did a little dance.

"Don't get too excited." Louie grumbled, "I think someone's been watching way too may soap operas."

Huey just continued dancing.

"Yeah, you're getting a real kick out of this, aren't you?"

- Daisy's House-

"So, tell me again why you snuck out of the house?" Daisy Duck put her hands on her hips and stared down her 11 year-old niece. They were standing in the game room, a room with a muted pink background and big TV screen. May's gaming equipment cluttered the room, as well as her skateboard and a few more sports stuff as well.

"I was saving Louie from some psycho rich kid." June deadpanned, putting her hands in her front pocket.

Daisy rolled her eyes, "Whatever you say, June."

May and April giggled in the background as she walked out of the room.

June grumbled. The bell rang, distracting her.

"I'll get it!" She ran out of the game room and into the living room, where the wallpaper was an orange color. She nearly knocked over a glass table, rushing to get the door. Opening it, she saw that Louie was standing on the doorstep, rocking on his heels.

"Oh hey, Louie."

"Hi." Louie awkwardly waved at her, wanting to sink into his hoodie and become invisible.

June looked at him skeptically, "Uh, not be rude, but why are you here?"

A bead of sweat rolled down from Louie's forehead, "I just…wanted…to…."

June tapped a webbed foot on the ground impatiently.

"To tell you…."

"June! Come inside and help me move these boxes for once!" Daisy grunted from somewhere inside the house.

"I'll help later!" June called over her shoulder. She turned back to Louie, "What did you want to tell me?"

Louie looked at the ground and mumbled, "Nothing."

June blinked, "Oh, and if you're wondering what's up with the boxes, we're moving."

"You are?"

"Yeah…Daisy got a new job offer. She's going to quit working for Emma Glamour." June fiddled with her thumbs, "Anyway, since you're here, why don't we go on a little adventure together?" She smirked.

Louie put his hands in his pocket, "Adventure? Ugh, that's the only thing I ever do!" He complained.

June's grin widened, "No, this is different. We're going to raid the sky pirate Don Karnage's ship-slash-plane-slash-whatever-the-heck-it-is, the Iron Vulture, and get ourselves some gold!"

Louie whined, "Seriously? Last time, the worst that would have happened if we got caught was maybe Scrooge grounding us or something. This time, we have a chance of being ripped apart by bloodthirsty pirates!"

June batted her eyelashes, "Do it for the gold. Do it for me."

Louie groaned, "Okay, okay."
