A/N: There is an OC character in this story who does not belong to me. This OC character was created by Blair93! I'm honored I get to include an OC character he created. This character is really cool, I hope you like him!
The museum was extremely quiet, much too quiet for nothing to be going on. It was so quiet; someone could drop a paperclip on carpet, and it would have made a noticeable noise. The lasers all across the floor made no buzzing sounds either, much too quiet for comfort.
The masked figure entered through a vent on the roof, avoiding the lasers that covered what seemed like every inch of the building. It managed to squeeze though some very tight openings, hitting the ground with a little 'thud.'
"I'm in." They creature mumbled to a walkie-talkie.
"Good, I figured you would have made it." Rascal responded over the walkie-talkie. Right outside he waited in a fairly large van, similar to the Cooper van except it was black and a little larger. Rascal sat on a small metal stool, looking up at the dozens of computer monitors the van had. He had managed to tap into the museum's security tapes to watch the creature as it maneuvers through the museum.
The creature ninja-spired jumped all across the pointed decorative wall trimming littered around the doors. It slowly climbed down, careful to avoid any of the lasers on the ground. That is when it spotted what it wanted…an ancient Egyptian sword.
The sword was the most marvelous thing the creature has ever seen. It sparkled against the security lights right above it. The sword was handcrafted with pure gold with the handle being wrapped in expensive Egyptian cotton strips. The sword was quite small, only being about 10 cm in length in total and about 2 cm diameter. The creature only could stand in awe at its beauty.
"Get moving!" Rascal started to worry that the creature might get caught in the museum. He then heard a car pull up behind him. Getting extremely paranoid, he quickly started the van, only to find it wouldn't start. "We have a problem!" Rascal exclaimed in a hurry. He quickly tried to shut everything down, but it was no use. He figured he would probably end up in jail tonight.
"What is wrong?" The creature asked with concern. Rascal didn't respond, but the creature was determined not to leave without that sword. It was the key to finding Sly, and the creature wasn't about to leave without it. It quickly swiped the sword from its glass container off the wooden pedestal it was displayed at.
"Get out of there! Leave the sword, we've been caught!"
The creature ignored Rascal and silently dodged the lasers in the museum to make its exit. Left and right it squeezed to try to get to the exit as soon as possible. It didn't matter if Rascal was going to get caught at this point, the creature needed that ancient sword!
As the creature left the museum, it spotted someone who it really didn't want to see. He was a bit tall, and a full-blooded racoon. His eyes were brown but appeared friendly. His hair was spikey but was brushed down to the front, almost resembling a cap. He wore a tight navy-blue suit with blue boots, topped with gold trimming above his blue boots and navy-blue gloves. He had an athletic build and was a bit taller than Sly. He carried a cane identical to Sly's and worse a necklace with a mysterious glowing gem attached to it. "Rascal…" He growled.
Rascal turned around and noticed him and swallowed nervously. Rascal was significantly smaller than him, looking more like a fox than a raccoon. He had some raccoon appearance, but he had bright orange fur with an extremely bushy tail. His hair was short and blue and had little winglets that were so tight a pencil could hardly fit in them. He wore a black t-shirt with blue jeans and some blue Converse. He grinned, showing his missing front tooth. "Daniel…" He nervously answered.
Daniel smacked his hand on his face. "Rascal, what are you doing here? I told you to not come here."
Rascal crossed his arms. "You know why I'm here, Daniel."
Daniel rolled his eyes. "Rascal, I told you I would talk to constable Ariel about getting you that sword. There was no need for this…"
"She would have said no!" Rascal wined. "Besides, don't you want to find Sly too? This is our only way, Daniel."
Daniel thought for a moment about what Rascal had said. He wasn't really upset at the fact Rascal was stealing, he was more upset Rascal had snuck out without him knowing. "If she would have said no, we would have come up with a plan from there. I don't want you breaking the law, Rascal. Your mother would have not approved of this. I promised her I wouldn't let you do stuff like this."
"But Skylar isn't in trouble."
Daniel stood silent for a moment. "Where is she?" He choked. "I didn't even know she left…"
Rascal shook. "I can't say, Daniel. She will get into trouble if you find out. She insisted I keep a secret."
Daniel frowned. "I don't care if she is hiding the president of the United States, Rascal. She isn't supposed to be out. Where is she?"
Rascal stared at the infuriated Daniel for a bit. He then pointed at the museum's large wooden doors where Skylar might have been. Daniel took a look at the entrance and walked over to it. The creature sat on a ledge above the door, and then eyed Rascal, clearly extremely angry. Rascal nervously smiled and shrugged.
That same evening Bentley was getting suited up, preparing to discuss with a police officer about obtaining the records of Sly's disappearance. He buttoned up the navy buttoned up shirt Dimitri had given him. He slipped on some 511 navy blue pants and laced up his long black boots. He then tucked the pants into the boots with a little struggle. He took one look into his mirror and appeared disgusted with himself. "I never wanted to be a cop." He angrily stated to himself.
Bentley then wheeled himself out of the lab and onto the bustling streets of Paris. Luckily for him, the police station was just a few blocks down from the stop light he lived next to. The streets didn't contain many cars today, since it was later in the night, but Bentley still remained cautious crossing the road.
After about twenty minutes, Bentley finally arrived at the fairly small police station. When he entered, a cheetah wearing a low-cut blouse and a short black skirt greeted him from the front desk. "I don't recognize you." She lowered her chin on her hand flirtingly.
Bentley shined his fake gold badge. "I'm new. I'm a transfer from…Rome!" He exclaimed.
The lady didn't seem concerned with this clear lie. "Well, I didn't think we would get some new recruits, but the chief doesn't tell me anything anymore. Let me let you in, sweetie!" She hit a button on her desk and two cedar wood doors opened wide, greeting Bentley to a large office filled with the overnight investigators. Desks appeared to be at every corner, and most of them appeared filled. Bentley slowly wheeled over to Carmelita's former desk, only to find it appeared to not have been touched. It was very organized, with a ton of files into a small black bin she had. Bentley eyed something he had never seen before. On her desk was a small photo frame, with her holding two small children. One looked just like her and one looked identical to Sly. The fox child had blue ringlets just like her, wearing some blue overalls with red shoes and a train conductor hat. Bentley figured it must have been her son. The other child concerned him the most. It looked identical to Sly, except it had long blue curly hair like Carmelita. Bentley figured it was a girl because of the pony tail her hair was tied back in, complimented by a big pink bow. She wore a small pink dress with a big white bow on the side. She looked real happy standing next to Carmelita, hugging her leg with her tiny self. Bentley smiled, but wondered why Carmelita never mentioned anything about these children.
"Those are Carmelita's kids." A voice spoke behind Bentley. He turned around and noticed a female rabbit wearing a long sleeve shirt and black 511 pants with yellow boots.
"I'm sorry I was just…"
"It's okay." The rabbit spoke. "I'm Lila. I'm one of the officers here tonight. Are you new?"
Bentley stuttered a bit. "Well, yeah, I'm from Rome. Chief Barkley asked me to investigate the disappearance of Sly Cooper."
The rabbit fell for his lie. "Sly Cooper? That's the case Carmelita had been working on. I guess it wasn't independent like we thought it was." The rabbit walked over to Carmelita's locked desk and inserted her key into the lock. When she opened the drawer, she found a single file with Sly's photo on it. "Is this what you needed?" She asked.
Bentley took the file from the rabbit's hands. "Yes, this is what I needed!"
The rabbit smiled. "Well, I wish you luck. I do have to ask, have you seen Carmelita here lately? It's unlike her to not come to work. Chief Barkley won't talk to any of us about her."
Bentley frowned. "I honestly don't know, miss. If I find out, I will surely let you know."
"Please do, we miss her!"
