Better Together Chapter 15: "The Train Ride Part 1"
So I know I haven't posted artwork on my website that much…but I'm working on a big one, I promise! Also, how come I'm better at drawing FREAKING DUCKS rather than actual people?! Like seriously, my humans are wEiRd. (I just drew some cover art for my Fablehaven fic I posted yesterday…BIG OOF. You can see the art if you go to my profile and view my stories…though it sucks lol.)
I'm updating Nobody Listens today!
June whined, "Aunt Daisy, do we have to?" She was standing at the front door, tugging on the tail-end of Daisy's pale pink coat.
Daisy put her foot down, "Of course we have to move, June!" She hauled a dark grey suitcase to the door, "Now get your sisters down here! And have you still not packed?! We're leaving in a few!"
June grumbled, putting her hands into her pocket.
"Oh, why are you always in such a mood!" Daisy huffed. Then, the suitcase burst open, making clothes fly everywhere.
Daisy's yelled, "WHY THAT STUPID-!"
"Look who's talking." June said dryly.
Daisy seethed, "No backtalk! Now go upstairs and get your sisters! And pack your bag, for Pete's sake!" The duck started restacking the clothes in the inside of the suitcase.
June pounded up the stairs, mimicking her aunt.
"I heard that, young lady!"
June laughed nervously, "Sorry, Aunt Daisy!" She rushed the rest of the way to the top of the staircase.
May got in her face, "Guess what Huey told me when I texted him?! He said that you and Louie were stargazing together! HA!"
June rolled her eyes, "Ugh. Just don't tell Daisy." She slipped into her room and closed the door.
May and April watched as June walked away. Then they burst into laughter as soon as she was gone.
June shouted a threat from the room and slammed the door, locking it.
May and April laughed even harder.
- Time Skip-
"Seriously? We're going by TRAIN?! What's the year, 1950?" June hissed. They were standing at the train station. The walls were a white color, with many booths (mostly ticket booths) and a huge screen displaying the time of each ride. The background of the screen was black, and the times were a yellow color. Many people were rushing.
Someone even bumped into her, and the 11 year-old shouted, "HEY! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, LOSER!"
Daisy smiled apologetically at the man. He was around twenty and had a blue polo shirt and khaki shorts. He had brown hair styled to the side and a mustache. The man muttered something, and walked away.
April rubbed her temple, "June, please try not to tick people off."
June narrowed her eyes, "First of all, he started it!" She said the statement extra loud so everyone could hear.
Daisy pulled her into a ticket booth, talking to the person selling the tickets.
June frowned, thinking that this would be the most boring 16 hours of her life…
Key word right there: thinking
