Better Together Chapter 19: "Schemers Gotta Scheme Part 2"
I accidentally replaced the last chapter with the one for Enough whilst trying to fix a typo, so sorry for the confusion! I put the correct and original chapter back. ;)
(I accidentally said in Enough that June moved to St. Canard, but she moves to Cape Suzzette, not St. Canard. That was the typo I was trying to fix. Thanks to GiddyReflections for pointing that out to me.)
Also, I updated my profile and put more funny stuff/reactions on it. XD
Disney Boy: The season 3 fic and my other LPS: W.O.O.O. story is in the LPS fanfiction archive, but you can find it if you go to my profile and view my stories! Thanks, I'm glad you're interested! :D
"So, Uncle Scrooge, where are we going now?" Dewey asked. He was sitting in the backseat of the Sunchaser/Cloudslayer. Louie was to the right of him, and Huey and Webby were both to the left of him.
Scrooge grinned from where he was standing next to the wheel, "We're going after the elusive Maltese McGuffin! The artifact we tried to acquire, but lost it due to all the…" He winced, "Drama."
Everyone looked at Della. She laughed nervously from next to Webby, "Oops."
"So, is it a statue, or…" Huey prompted.
"I already told you!" Scrooge had a dreamy look in his eyes, "It's the stuff dreams are made of!"
"What exactly IS it?!" Huey scowled, crossing his arms at the vague statement.
Scrooge looked very irritated, "Okay okay, it's a statue, lad!" He quickly lit up, "And it's made of GOLD!"
"Gold? Sounds cool!" Webby exclaimed. She elbowed Louie, who blinked.
"Yeah. Cool."
The grown-ups soon lost interest in the conversation, and the kids started planning.
"Okay, so what's this scheme gonna be?" Louie asked.
Dewey and Huey exchanged sheepish glances.
"Well, we sorta figured you'd figure it out…" The duckling in blue fiddled with his thumbs.
Louie groaned and told him, "Well, I guess we'd better start somewhere." He looked around, spotting the same box that they had hid the info about their mom in and used as a hideout since. He jumped out of his seat, and motioned for his brothers and Webby to follow him inside. He stood next to a board. The duckling pinned a photo of Ms. Glamour on it.
"Okay, so we know that Daisy got a new job offer and ditched Emma Glamour to impress her and show her that she could do better. But, exactly WHO is Daisy working for? That's the main question here." Huey picked up a picture with a darkened figure on it. He grabbed a red marker and drew a thick question mark on the head of the figure.
Webby raised her hand, jumping up and down, "I know! I know!"
Dewey deadpanned, "No Webby, she's not working for Santa Claus."
"Maybe-!"
"She's not working for a demented cyclops, or zombie rooster, nor is she working for a Hydra." Huey raised an eyebrow.
"Awwwww. Bummer." Webby frowned. She muttered, "I really wanted that Hydra to be real…"
"Back on track, people!" Dewey yelled a bit too loud. He turned to Louie, "Getting any ideas yet, Schemer?"
"Not really…"
"Oooo, Louie's getting SOFT!" Huey cooed.
Louie snapped, "Oh yeah?! Well, you usually weren't this mischievous, so now, I'm starting to think you've been hanging after Lena way too much."
Huey reddened but didn't say anything.
Louie snapped his fingers, "Wait, I just thought of something." He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, "We can call Ms. Glamour to figure out the new person Daisy's gonna work for!"
"But she only answers the phone if she knows someone important is calling. We're not exactly VIP's." Webby said.
Louie grinned slyly, "Who says we can't be?"
Don't forget to review, follow, and fav! :) ;D
