This... Happened. On accident. I guess it's kinda free-form poetry (?) I don't know. It's been in my mind forever, to be honest. I just now got around to writing it. I may do more. I may not. I could probably do some for others, too... like one with other... well, people. Lists include IchiRuki Ichigo centric one, One for Ichigo with Orehime (I realize it's cannon, but I still... don't really ship it as hard as I do IchiRuki- but at the same time, he went to save her, too). Probably could do one for the Visards, too- specifically Shinji and Hiyori. Maybe a Kenpachi/Unohana one. IDK. Tell me what you think.

Thing is, they really don't have to be taken as 'ships', either. Keep in mind, these are my thoughts of this stuff- so no flames, please?

Anyway: Disclaimer: I DON"T OWN BLEACH.

Only Her

He was a fox.

Sly and cunning; a trickster.

He wore the mask of a snake: Sly, and cunning, still, but with the dangerous venom of a killer.

He wore the mask of a traitor… or, perhaps he did betray them…

Perhaps he was a snake, after all.

Then again, no one had ever thought him truly loyal to the Gotei 13 in the first place.

He wasn't.

He was loyal only to her.

Only to her.

She was the reason that he joined the Court Guard in the first place.

She was the reason he followed Aizen.

He'd sworn years ago (as he watched Aizen's dark experiments while lying like a snake in the grass) that he'd have revenge.

Revenge for her.

Only for her.

He lied and killed his way through the ranks… on Aizen's orders.

He did not dare to speak to her… or keep in contact with her.

He knew what might happen if he did.

She would be in danger again.

That was something he could not allow. Something he would not allow.

He betrayed his Lieutenant. He betrayed the Gotei 13.

And, in the end, he betrayed the snake, himself….

For Ichimaru Gin may wear the guise of a snake over his true, fox-like visage…

But that man was the true snake.

In the end, he failed.

He passed the torch to the Ryoka with the orange hair.

As he lay dying in the growing pool of his own blood that stained his white robes, he passed the responsibility of ending Aizen over to the teen-aged boy who had nearly brought the Gotei 13 to its knees- for, ironically, the same reason that Ichimaru Gin had played his part as Aizen's puppet- though, in Kurosaki Ichigo's case, it was a tiny girl with dark hair and violet eyes- that Aizen had tried to have killed.

As he closed his eyes for the last time, she was there.

Her tears dripped on his face, her voice was in his ears, begging him to stay.

But he had failed.

For that failure, he could not.

He could not bring himself to tell her goodbye, still.

Instead, he told her that he was sorry.

He'd not be remembered as a hero- not that he really wanted to.

He knew she'd never know why he'd done what he'd done.

But he'd done it all for her.

Only Her.

Read and review. Tell me what you think. If you want to hear anyone else- either someone I've already mentioned, or you know, someone completely different, let me know.
