A/N: Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the great reviews. As the title of this chapter implies, at last we have our Olitz. I hope you all enjoy this little fluff piece chapter about Olivia and Fitz's relationship. It has love, heart-to-hearts, and even a cute stakeout.

Chapter 18: At Last

April 13th, 1979

Olivia woke up, batting her eyes open. She slept insanely well, and felt the most blissful she had felt in ages - probably in her entire life. She turned over and saw Fitz on his side facing her, like he had fallen asleep while watching her, which frankly wouldn't have surprised her if that were the case. She watched him sleep for a few minutes, trying to take in every single detail on his face in this moment to memory. He looked relaxed and just as peaceful as she felt.

She skimmed the back of her finger down the bridge of his nose. Olivia silently giggled seeing his nose wiggle and twitch as a matter of reflex. She moved closer, feeling his morning wood rub against her thigh, and he subconsciously grunted at the touch. She reached over him with her arms and began rubbing his back in circles, starting to wake him.

"Hi," he said groggily with his eyes still closed.

"Hi," she replied, beaming at him as his eyes too fluttered open.

"So…" he said, unsure of what to say at this moment. "Um…how did you sleep?"

"Amazing," Olivia immediately responded.

"So it was – uh – it was good?"

"The best. One for the history books," she joked.

Fitz smiled smugly, giving himself a pat on the back, "I'm glad that our first time like that was so um good and memorable."

Olivia nodded in agreement and sighed, "It was. If only our first kiss was like that too. But instead I drunkenly made out with you and tried to seduce you in a hotel."

She sat up in the bed and looked at him with a face of embarrassment, "God, I'm never going to be able to apologize enough for that."

Fitz shifted himself to he was halfway leaning against the headboard, slightly looking up at Olivia.

"Um about that…that actually wasn't our first kiss…"

"What?"

"That wasn't the first time we kissed. Do you remember last summer when we were both in DC with internships and we decided to go out dancing at Live?"

Olivia looked at Fitz stunned and put a hand over her mouth gasping at the memory, and cringing.

"Oh my god!" she winced. "I thought that was just another dream…"

"Another? So you dream about me often?" Fitz smirked. Her face became completely flushed.

"Oh my god, I completely devoured your face at the Lincoln Memorial. I am so sorry."

Fitz simply shrugged, "I'm not complaining. It was a group effort. A – um – mutual devour…"

She hovered over him, pecking him on the lips, "mhmmm…speaking of devour…" She raked her nails over his chest stopping just where the comforter landed halfway down his abs. He stirred at her touch and she stared at his shaft standing at full attention underneath the blankets.

Fitz's breathing stilled, thinking of the direction her hand was traveling. With a smirk on her face, she dove underneath the covers and kissed him below his naval along his pelvic bone.

"Livvie," he said, lifting up the covers, but she pushed him back down to let it fall over her.

"Don't look ok? I just want you to feel and focus on feeling…every…little…thing," she said, sucking on various spots along his waistline with each word. She then went farther down, kissing up one thigh and down the other, skipping over his dick in the middle, and making him squirm.

"Livvie, please!" she heard him groan, and Fitz opened his legs far wider, practically begging for her mouth to make contact with him. She licked the tip and drew a cold breath over it, hearing him moan a solid "oh" in response.

She then licked the underside, took in his tip, swirling her tongue around to slurp the precum leaking from him. As her mouth captured his tip, she traced the veins on his underside with her fingers, lightly touching every inch that popped out. He fidgeted uncontrollably, whimpering and groaning for her, which only encouraged her more. Last night he had pleasured her and learned her body inside and out. This morning she was using to explore his. She wanted to know every little piece and part that made him twitch. She used her teeth to graze him teasingly and nipped at the tip.

"Shit!" Fitz's hips jerked up, loving the pleasurable pain. He needed her mouth achingly.

"L-Livie…ohhhh please…" He felt her hand go up and down his rod, and felt her breath coming immeasurably close. "Oh fuck! O-Oh my god," he moaned when Olivia's mouth fully engulfed him. '

She used her hand to glide between the base of his shaft and where her mouth started. He was so long she couldn't completely take him in, so she used her hand to make up for it, making sure no part of him was left untouched.

She bobbed up and down, and Fitz rocked his hips, rhythmically meeting her strokes to make sure she wouldn't hurt herself by having him go too far. She wouldn't have it though. This was all about him feeling, relaxing, receiving pleasure. She used her spare hand and placed it on his lower abdomen, pushing down to stop his movements. Once he stopped, she rubbed him, massaging his muscles and savoring in the feeling of his abs. She continued sucking, swirling, and blowing, all the while she massaged the every area below his navel until the flesh began to tremble.

"Livvie, I'm close!" he cried out, panting. He could feel his balls starting to tighten, and was about to be put over the edge. She moved her hand from his abdomen down to massage his jewels, creating a vacuum with her mouth and teasing the underside. The softness of her hand and the feeling of her tongue had him at his climax, and he emptied his load, crying out her name.

She swallowed every drop until he was dry and started to soften. She loved how he tasted, and was glad she was able to pleasure him like he had done to her multiple times last night. She felt an ache between her legs after blowing Fitz's mind, and hearing him moan to new extremes. She knew she had to have him again that morning in full. She yearned for him once more. She kissed his tip and went back down to his balls, licking and sucking them.

"Oh my god, Livvie…" he moaned, feeling her tongue wash over his sac. Even just having erupted, he couldn't stop himself from being in a semi-hard state from her.

"Mmm, Livvie, I want to see you," he grumbled. He felt her kiss up, and she came out from the blanket, kissing and running her hands up and down his torso.

This was about exploration, and Olivia kissed every part of the front of his body, learning what parts made him hiss and moan. She nibbled onto his sensitive ears, which had a particular effect on him. He was completely hard in a matter of minutes.

Olivia reached down, grabbing his hard rod in her hand, pumping him a good few times until he was ready. She kissed him along his jaw line, going up to his ear, and nibbling its sensitive spot as she just learned.

"Can I, baby?" she whispered seductively.

"Mmmhmm y-yes," Fitz whimpered closing his eyes and feeling Olivia's hands press into his pecs. She straddled over him, dragging her sex along his chest and abdomen until she was right in front of his dick. Fitz grabbed a hold of her hips and helped her align herself over him. Slowly she went down, capturing him. Her breath hitched every inch she moved down, feeling him go deeper and deeper inside her.

"Oh fuck," she moaned, feeling him fill her completely once she was down. "Damn...so good!"

She closed her eyes and started to bounce. Fitz watched in awe as she rode him. She was amazing. He had to kiss her. He contracted his abdomen to get him in more of a sitting position and closer to Olivia's face. He thrusted upwards for each time she bounce, making Olivia cry and moan in pleasure, a series of swears coming out of her lips. He moved his hand to her chin.

"Open your eyes," he said through gritted teeth. She shook her head, unable to, convinced that seeing him would be too much for her and drive her over the edge too quickly. Fitz kissed down her neck and chest, taking a nipple into his mouth and sucking. She let out a howl and he let go.

"Livvie, open your eyes," he repeated, more convincingly. Reluctantly she opened and saw his face right there in front of her. Without a moment's hesitation, she went for him, kissing passionately as continued to ride him. She ran her hands through the back of his hair, and Fitz splayed his hands across her back while they continued making out.

"Oh fuck, Fitz, I…oh…I can't…" she muttered between breaths while riding him.

"Let go, Olivia," he said easily. He needed her to, because he couldn't last much longer either. And within a beat apart from one another they both experienced earth-shattering releases that overtook them.

"Holy fuck, I love you," Fitz whispered, taking Olivia down to lie on top of him in bed.

"I love you too," she said kissing him.

They cuddled a little longer until both recognized how hungry they were. So with a shower together, that lasted a little too long, they got ready for their day and went out to brunch on 84th street.

"Ok I'll admit it, you were right this place has really good breakfast food," Olivia conceded.

"The best breakfast food, Livvie. Don't deny my talent in knowing good breakfast food when I see it."

Olivia laughed, seeing him get all giddy over being correct.

"So…" he began, "um…about last night…"

"Yeah?" Olivia said, a little concerned in the tone of his voice.

"I just-I know that Abby and you are close and everything but um…"

"Fitz, just tell me, you've got me on pins and needles here."

"Sorry…I was just – I don't want Stephen to know about us. Not yet at least, not until I tell him and have a proper conversation with him."

"You have to sit down and have a proper conversation with Stephen? Seriously? What is he, your child?"

Fitz gave her a glare, "have you met Stephen?"

"Never mind, now that I say it out loud, I totally get it. But don't wait too long."

"Believe me, I won't," he said, grabbing her hand. "I'll take any of Stephen's harassing if it means seeing you again tomorrow."

"So we're going out tomorrow?"

"Well, I would hope. I-I don't know if I could go more than a day without...seeing you, Livvie."

Olivia bit her lip, seeing Fitz get a little nervous at her. She rubbed her thumb over his hand, and used her other hand to brush the side of his head.

"I would hope so too, because we have a lot of lost time to make up for."

ooo

Following brunch, Olivia returned to her apartment to change her clothes. She realized that she never told Abby that she was spending the night at Fitz's and hoped that she and Stephen didn't grow too worried by the fact that she hadn't returned whenever it was when they got back from their date.

"Hey Abby! I'm back. Sorry I'm home so late. I hope I didn't leave you and Stephen worrying too much," she announced as she hung up her fleece in the coat closet. "I ended up staying at the guys' apartment pretty late. So I just spent the night there. I was helping Fitz prep for his oral exam."

"Sounded to me like he was doing real well with his oral exam last night?" Stephen piped in.

Olivia turned into the living room and froze, seeing Stephen and Abby waiting for her by the coffee table.

"You're disgusting," Abby commented to Stephen, disciplining him. She looked back at Liv. "We originally went back to Stephen's place last night after our date…but then we quickly left. I swear we left right away!"

"I-I- um…" Olivia was completely flushed with embarrassment yet again.

"So tell me Liv, did he ace his oral exam prep?" Stephen smiled cheekily, laughing way harder at his own joke than anyone.

"Will you shut it?" Abby snapped at him.

"Come on. It's all in good fun. I for one am thankful. It's about damn time."

"I'm going to go and uh…change…and then study," Olivia said, changing the subject walking backwards into her room bedroom. She changed and did her makeup, coming back into the living room to see that Stephen was gone. Thankful that she didn't have to hear anymore wise cracks from him, she took a seat on the couch and let out a breath when the phone rang.

"Hi," she heard on the other end.

"Hi," she replied, grinning. "So just as a heads up, Stephen and Abby know."

"I know," said Fitz. "He came back home about five minutes ago and has been nagging at me since."

Olivia laughed picturing Stephen loaded with questions, blazing them all at Fitz.

"So, what are you up to tonight?" he asked.

"Nothing planned."

"Good I know after brunch we said that we'd see each other tomorrow, but I'd like to take you out maybe to the movies?"

"Already tonight?" Olivia laughed. "Aren't you tired of me at this point?"

"Never," he said, and she could almost see him smirking through the phone. "I'll pick you up around six?"

"Ok mister, I'll see you then."

"I'll see you later – oh hey, and Liv?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

Olivia grinned ear to ear. "Madly?" she asked.

"Deeply," he responded.

"I love you too," Olivia said before hanging up. Olivia looked up to see Abby coming out from her bedroom.

"So…" she began.

"You want all the details, don't you?" Olivia assumed.

"Oh my god, thank god. Yes!" Abby replied taking a seat, thankful she wasn't going to have to push Olivia to tell her about what happened last night.

ooo

April 28th, 1979

For the next couple of weeks, Olivia and Fitz lived in a peaceful little bubble all to themselves. They went out almost every night whether it was just to have dinner, or go to a movie, or even just to go to the library together. Olivia couldn't explain it, but everything just felt amazing when they were together, and they never spent a single night apart after that night at Fitz's apartment.

They had romantic sunset strolls down the Brooklyn Bridge. They traveled downtown together to watch street performers. One day they even took Fitz's car upstate for a wine tour with Abby and Stephen. They went to museums, saw shows, and enjoyed all of the amazing perks that New York City had to offer young couples, including the rowboats in Central Park Lake in the spring time.

"Fitz! Fitz watch it! Careful!" Olivia screamed from her boat, holding onto the sides of the boat as Fitz, purposely rocked it. Being a Navy man, he went full force rowing extremely hard to the point where it felt like the cheap rental boat would fall apart beneath them.

"Relax…what's the worst that could happen?"

"We fall in."

"And last I checked, you were captain of the swim team, and I was in the Navy. So really what's the worst that could happen?"

"It's not so much the swimming, Fitz, as it is the water," Olivia pointed out. "Do you have any idea how many people in New York use Central Park Lake as their own personal garbage dump?"

Fitz slowed his paddling down, noticing the unusually murky and dark colored water.

"Alright, you've got me on that one lowrider," he beamed a smile at her and calmed the rocking. They stayed rowing in circles with the other boats for a while, enjoying the sweetness of spring in the city, until it was time to row back. After giving back the boat he picked up the things they had dropped off at the boathouse, mainly a picnic basket and blanket that Fitz prepared for their day together.

They walked along the park, trying to find a place that was nice and shady, but not too busy with people until Fitz came across a good tree off one of the paths.

They settled their items down, and enjoyed lunch together under the shade of a large elm tree. Fitz leaned his back against the trunk, grabbing Olivia in his arms so she was curled around him. She snaked her hand up his shirt and rested it on his chest, scratching him as she slowly combed her fingers through his chest hair. He was feeling too relaxed, closing his eyes in the sun with Olivia cuddled up beside him.

"Fitz?" she heard him ask, getting him out of his near-nap.

"Mmhmm?"

"What's the fishing story?"

"Hmmm?" he grunted.

"The fishing story that Stephen briefly brought up when we were outside the comedy club. What is it?"

He opened his eyes at her and laughed mildly, "Livvie, it's not that important."

"What is it?" she repeated.

"Seriously, it's not that funny."

"I want to hear it."

"Livvie, it's really not that special."

"Fine, if you don't want to tell me," she muttered angrily.

"Why does it matter?"

"Why won't you tell me?"

"Fine," he finally said, "you seriously want to hear the fishing story?"

"Well, if you're going to be mad about it..."

"No, fine, I'll tell you," Fitz said frustratingly done with this game.

"About five years ago, I decided to take a fishing trip by myself, and I forgot to fill up the fishing boat I was renting with fuel, because I was under the impression that they come already full. Then by about midday I got stranded in the middle of the lake, and I had to get towed back to shore by a 70-year-old couple in a canoe."

"That's not really that funny," Olivia uttered once he was done.

"That's what I was trying to tell you," groaned Fitz, shaking his head, confused why this was so important to Olivia. "Why were you even so adamant about hearing it?"

"I don't know." She took her hand out of his shirt and brought it back to herself. "There's just this whole portion of your life that I know absolutely nothing about."

Olivia had to admit that she was a little bothered about how closed off he could get whenever she'd ask him about his life at Stanford.

"Well, I don't know what you were up to at that time either," he fought back.

"I went to college. I was involved in BSA and Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law frat. I partied a bit with the friends I made there. Outside from Abby and Quinn the clubs I was in was where I made most of my friends. We would go to bars, and I drank. We would hang out at small get-togethers, and I smoked some pot-"

Fitz looked up at her in surprise.

"What? Don't judge me," she grinned.

"I'm not. I just didn't think of you as the kind."

"I know you said you were a different person right when you got back from the war," Olivia said. "I get if you don't want to share it with me. But if you ever do, I won't judge you."

Fitz took a deep breath. She would probably find out about his college days somehow, and it was probably for the best if it came directly from him. He knew that she just said she wouldn't judge him, but he couldn't be sure.

"I didn't go to class. I slept during the day an-and partied about every night. I partied hard…probably harder than I should have. I don't know…I-I was just…angry."

She ran her hand through his hair on the side of his head to show she was listening, and not judging him the slightest.

"But you're not angry now?"

"No," he said looking at her. "I'm the happiest I've been in a long while…because of you," he leaned over her and kissed her until she moaned into his mouth.

"Do you want to get out of here?" Fitz suggested, looking at the time on his watch. "We have about four hours until we have to leave for the show."

"I don't know what we could do in four hours?" Olivia replied sarcastically. He took that as his signal and lifted her off the ground, gathering their things to leave.

ooo

After their Broadway show, Fitz and Olivia walked out of the theater into Time Square, taking in the city at its heart. Olivia turned around, seeing Fitz frowning a bit.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, just a little stiff. Those seats weren't too comfortable," Fitz confessed.

"How about a massage once we get home?" she said, putting a hand on his back and already starting.

"Mhmmm," he moaned. "You are too good for me."

She leaned up and kissed him, taken aback slightly when he pulled away from her.

"Hey Liv, isn't that James?" Fitz asked pointing out to some of the many people gathered in Time Square on a Saturday night. Olivia followed Fitz's finger, spotting James walking closely next to someone.

"That is," she said slowly, trying to focus in on them.

"What's he doing in New York?" Fitz said in an awfully jolly tone. "We should go say hi to him."

"Fitz, no!" she quickly grabbed his hand, pulling him back when he went to take a step forward.

"Wha-"

She dragged him behind a food truck so they wouldn't be seen and then released him.

"What are you doing?"

"We shouldn't say anything. James and Cyrus aren't on the best terms right now," Olivia explained.

"What happened?"

Olivia contemplated whether or not she should tell Fitz. On the one hand, she technically wasn't suppose to know, but on the other hand, she had some explaining to do, and couldn't think of a lie that would adequately explain what went so wrong between Cyrus and James that would justify having to hide behind a food truck.

"Fitz, James is gay," she slowly stated.

Fitz listened, but didn't see why that was such a big deal, "Oh…I mean, I guess I always thought Cyrus to be considered a really nice and not the kind to be intolerant but-"

"No it's not that. He doesn't hate James. Cyrus loves him. Cyrus is gay too. They've had an on-again and off-again relationship for years."

"Wait what? But-but that can't be," Fitz stammered, taking in Olivia's words and processing them himself. Olivia remembered having a similar look when she first found out too a couple months ago. "But your mother-"

"Was gay too," she interrupted him. "Listen Fitz, for the sake of simplicity right now, everyone is gay, ok? I'll tell you about it more later, but just to give you the basics."

"Um…ok," Fitz replied confused, but knowing that Olivia was not going to be taking the time to explain this to him now. He would have to wait until they got back. "So…is that other guy James' new partner?"

"I don't know," Olivia said, poking her head around the corner to see if they were still there. She observed them from afar talking and laughing. They could have easily just been friends for all she knew. She watched them separate however, and walk away from one another, James walking at a slower, more somber pace. She could tell that there was something melancholy with him.

"Should we follow him?" Fitz suggested.

"No, we can't have him spotting us. That could be bad."

"Wait here," Fitz said before going back out onto the street.

"Fitz, no!" Olivia called after him, but saw him going in a different direction from James, up to a kiosk that was open. He sprinted back quickly with some items in his hands.

"Livvie, did I ever tell you about something I learned in Vietnam called camouflage?" he said slyly.

"What did you get?" asked Olivia, and Fitz held out his purchase of two newspapers. "You're kidding, right?"

"Nope," he smirked at her.

They followed James from afar, keeping their newspapers close to them and ready in case he turned around. They kept a distance, making sure they wouldn't lose track of him when they saw him turn the corner near a couple of payphone booths.

"Fitz, bench!" Olivia whispered, spotting the bench just out of the corner of her eye. It was near the booth, just in the perfect direction where James' back would be facing them so he wouldn't see.

"Copy that."

They went to the bench and sat down, crossing their legs, and holding their newspapers up simultaneously to cover their face in case he were to turn around.

They were just close enough to be able to listen to James if they concentrated. They heard him release a breath after a long period of waiting at the phone.

"Hey Cy, it's me. I know that…I know that with everything that happened recently you're going through a hard time, and I understand if you want space…but I just…I don't know how much longer I can do this, Cy. I miss you, and-and I'm really struggling here to keep myself distant. Listen, I'm in New York right now, but I'll be back tomorrow night. If you could give my house phone a call…I think we really need to talk."

James stood at the phone sighing, "I-I love you, Cy," he uttered and then hung up the phone and walked away past Olivia and Fitz.

Once the coast was clear, Olivia and Fitz lowered their newspapers and looked at each other.

"Well," Fitz started unsure exactly on what to say, "I guess sometimes feelings just never go away."

"No, they don't."

A/N: I'm so glad that so many of you are enjoying this story. There's still more exciting things to come, however I also want to warn everyone that the story will be starting to come to an end soon. There are about two more chapters and then an additional epilogue. But no need to fret, there is still a lot get through between exams, and law school graduation, and whatever is going on between Cyrus and James right now.
