CHAPTER 5: MOVING ON…
Richard was at home. He had the night off from work. Peppermint Patty was sound asleep. Colleen was back at her place getting things packed up and getting ready to move in with Richard and Patty. Yasmine and Polly also spent the night at the Reichardt's house. While everyone was asleep, he looked at photos of his deceased wife, Marie. He saw a picture of the two of them when they first started dating. She had on a halter top and blue jeans, along with lime green sandals. He figured Patty got that from her. He also saw them during their wedding, as they smashed cake on each other's face. Another photo was the same one the two younger girls saw when Patty showed them, Marie when she was pregnant with Patty. She looked radiant. She was baring her pregnant belly while showing a loving smile. She was happy to be having a child with her beloved Richard. The photo was bittersweet for Richard, as it was the very last photo he took of her.
He placed all the photo albums and pictures of his wife in a box marked "Marie Reichardt Memory Box" and took it up to the attic. He was sure to be quiet about it so not to wake up the girls. He wasn't burying her memory and if anyone wanted to look at those photos he would promise to bring them out for those who wanted to see them. Je was just starting a new life with Colleen and wanted his life to reflect that and that he wasn't just hanging on to his deceased wife's memory. He was ready to move on.
"I'll always love you, my sweet Marie. You will always be in my heart."
