It was a week since Maka and Kid started dating. Both were over the moon with happiness, much to their friends disgust (not real disgust of course). Soul however has been more distant and didnt seem thrilled with them. Maka debated confronting him, but was scared to damage their relationship.

She did manage to clarify with the potion, it WAS his brother who did it. Turns out he wanted Soul to help bail him out of trouble with the girl when they hung out. It sounded messy so Maka didn't push for details. She was glad he wasn't a dick like his brother.

It was the day before the weekend that everything went wrong for them. It started out the same, Soul was oversleeping, Maka woke him up, they ate breakfast then went to school. When they got to school they saw Black*Star, Tsubaki, Liz, Patty and Kid waiting for them.

"Hey whats up?" Asked Soul as he and Black*Star highfived.

"We got a mission to go on," said Kid. "Got sightings of some kishin eggs out west."

Soul wondered why Kid was in charge but stopped himself. Why is he feeling so negatively towards his friend? He wasnt jealous, he doesnt like Maka like that. She's a flat-chested violent maniac.

"Alright cool, lets head out then," said Soul as he transformed into Maka's hands.

Liz Patty and Tsubaki all transformed as well. Kid summoned his skateboard and made it bigger than normal.

"Your ride my dear," said Kid with a wink towards Maka.

Maka blushed and got on behind him and hugged his waist. Soul tried not to gag. They flew to their destination in silence. Aparently they were expecting 5 kishin eggs in the desert area. They reached the destination and split up to search for any signs.

"Maka, do you sense anything with your soul perspective?" Asked Soul.

"I do faintly but where I sense them doesnt make sense," She said as she walked towards the center of where they all searched. "They should be right here!"

After a brief second of silence the ground began to shake.

"Oh shit found em!" Shouted Soul.

Maka jumped back just as the ground burst with 5 worm like creatures coming out of the ground. Maka Kid and Black*Star nodded at eachother and began to attack.

Black*Star launched himself at the nearest one, with Tsubaki in her dark sword mode. He flicked his wrist as he travelled up the kishin egg and when he reached the top the worm burst into pieces, leaving its soul behind. He then moved on to another one to kill it the same way.

Kid got on his board and flew above the creatures and shot at there heads multiple times. He effectively dodged the tails that lashed out at him and managed to take one down, and moved on to another.

Maka jumped at one of the kishins and used Soul to split the worm from the bottom to the top, completely splitting it in half. She then joined Kid in taking the final worm down, Black*Star already done with his 2. Together Kid and Maka finished off the worm.

Once the dust settled the weapons all took there human forms again and looked around.

"Something feels off, that was to easy" said Liz.

"I agree," said Maka.

Soul looked around and knelt down and set his hand on the sand. They came up from underground, but why? Whats underground? He looked over at Maka and saw the sand shift near her.

He saw the sand disperse and ran forward to intercept whatever was coming. He saw a pointed tail going straight for Maka and just had enough time to scream her name before he jumped in front of her and got impaled by the tail. The last thing he heard before he blacked out was her screaming his name.

"SOUL!" Screamed Maka as she dove forward and caught him in her arms. She held him in her lap and pressed down on his wound. While she did another 25 smaller worms rose from underground.

Kid cursed as him and Black*Star got ready to defend Maka and Soul. Maka cursed herself for being so weak again. She took off her cloak and ripped off the sleeves and used that to try to stop the bleeding.

"KID! What should I do!?" Shouted Maka.

"Call my father, get backup out here!" He shouted back as he and Black*Star kept the worms attention off Maka.

Maka grabbed her pocket mirror and wrote the number on it and called Lord Death. He answered quickly and cheerfully.

"Hello hello! Wassup waaasupppp?" He said.

"Lord Death please help us! The main kishin eggs were with a nest that hatched! Soul is hurt really bad! We are out numbered severely!" Shouted Maka.

"Maka, dont worry. Stein and Spirit are on their way," he said in his real voice.

Maka hung up and watched the fight while keeping pressure. She cursed herself as she could find anyway to help them. She couldn't use Tsubaki or one of the twins cause she would need a couple hours before figuring out how to use them. All she could do was sit there and watch.

'What a weakling' she thought gritting her teeth together.

She looked up again and saw Black*Star get flung into a rock, right on his head.

"BLACK*STAR!" Screamed Tsubaki.

Maka saw a worm going towards her and picked up a rock and held it above her head. If she is going to die she isnt going down easy. Before it reached her Stein dropped from the sky with her father, Spirit, in his hands and cut the worms head off. He took off his coat and draped it on Soul and gave Maka a small smile before jumping back into action.

Maka dropped the rock and resumed putting pressure on Spuls wound. Tsubaki had Black*Stars head in her lap and they watched as Stein and Spirit took care of all the worms with soul resonance.

Once the worms were taken care of Stein rushed to Maka's side. He checked out Soul while Maka just sat back wordlessly. Her papa tried to hug her but she pulled away.

She was in shock now that the battle was over and she knew it. This was just like with Chrona. Once again Soul was hurt because of her. And she was a bother to her team without him.

Maka sat in the waiting room with Spirit, who was trying to comfort her but she ignored him completely. He eventually got the hint and just sat next to her with silent support. She stared at the ground and listened to the ticking of the clock on the wall.

The door opened and she looked up and saw Stein walking out of the nurse office and removing his gloves. She stood up and went over to him.

"How is he professor?" She asked.

"Surprisingly he is great. The black blood thats still in his system clotted the wound which kept him from bleeding out. I sewed him up, and he will have to rest for id say about 2 days then he will be good to go" Said Stein giving her a smile.

"Thank you so much professor! Can I see him?" Asked Maka.

Stein smiled as he put his hand on her head and patted her head before nodding. She smiled at him and then went into Souls room.

"Hey. Why did Maka let you touch her but not me," said Spirit sulkingly.

"Maybe cause she likes me more than you," said Stein as he walked off.

"I-Wha-thats not-you- DAMN YOU STEIN!" He said running after him.

Maka rolled her eyes having heard the scene and walked towards Souls bed. She was surprised to see him awake as he looked at her.

"Hey, how do you feel?" She asked as she stood by his bed.

"I feel great. For once im glad I have black blood in me. It boasts my healing, which is fitting for a cool guy like me you know?" he said giving her a grin.

Maka laughed as she smiled at him, which caused him to blush for some reason?

"Hey Maka, I need to tell you something," said Soul as he stood up. "Since you and Kid started dating, ive been feeling jealous. Turns out I really like you Maka. And I know you feel the same."

Maka stared at him in shock as he stepped closer, backing her into a wall.

"S-Soul I-" He cut her off by kissing her gently.

She tensed up and froze, trying to will her body to push him away. All that changed once he slipped his tongue in her mouth and she moaned as he kissed her deeply. He put his hands on her waist and that broke her out of her trance and she shoved him away while yelling "NO!"

She stood gasping while he grunted at her pushing on his wound but he stood tall before her.

"I'm sorry Maka, but I want you to know how I feel, and be with me. Im sorry it took me this long to admit my feelings for you." He said looking away.

"..." Maka said nothing as she turned around and ran out of the room. As she did she ran into Stein who was just walking to get something from the nurse office.

"Whoa, first Kid ran into me now you? Wheres the fire?" He said.

"Kid was here?" She asked in a high pitched voice.

"Yeah but he was running away not to long ago," said Stein pointing in the general direction.

"Oh no,'' said Maka as she trembled a bit.

She couldnt deal with this right now. She took a breath and then thanked Stein for what he did and went to her place. She knew she wasnt going to find Kid anytime soon.
