Pairing: Emily Prentiss and Erin Strauss
Chapter 1
Emily walks into the BAU bullpen and heads to her desk, it is only her first week at the BAU but already she feels more at home here than she has anywhere else in years. The only downside? Her bosses boss Section Chief Erin Strauss. Their history alone surprises Emily that she was even allowed the transfer into this unit, but nevertheless she's ecstatic that she's here.
"Morning Princess" Derek Morgan says with the biggest grin on his face that one can possibly have on Monday morning at 9am.
She smirks at him "Good weekend?" she says as she starts her stack of paperwork left on her desk.
"Well of course, it's always good when it comes to me, want to find out for yourself?" He winks and laughs as he sits down and starts his paperwork as well.
She laughs and shakes her head at his shameless flirting "Sorry to break it to you Derek but I bat for the other team and I don't switch hit at all."
He smirks and nods "All good with me princess, you're my new wingman then since Reid doesn't help me out a ton."
She nods and smiles to herself and thinks good for you Emily. You are out and nothing bad has happened yet, now you just have to come out to the rest of the team.
The rest of the team gathered in the bullpen and got to work. Hotch and Gideon were in their offices. It was a normal paperwork day, no cases to travel to so at 7 o'clock everyone was ready to head home when JJ asks "Anybody want to go grab a drink? It's still early enough?"
Everyone in the bullpen nods, Hotch and Gideon however choose to go home instead. As the team gets to the bar Emily thinks to herself that this would be a great time to tell the team that she's gay. Once they all get their drinks and gather around a table, she decides it's time.
"So, everyone, I want to say thank you for being so kind and welcoming to me and including me in everything. I also wanted to get this out in the open and Morgan knows already but I'm a lesbian. I came out to my family when I was young, and I just don't ever want to hide that part of myself again."
Garcia and JJ smile and nod and hug Emily, Reid smiles and nods and they all say, "Oh Emily that's great and we are so glad you're with us." Emily smiles and wipes her eyes and hugs them all and nods and grins.
After that heartfelt moment, dancing, drinking, and laughing commenced. When Emily went to the bar to get the next round of drinks, she found more at the bar then she bargained for. Section Chief Strauss was sitting there chatting with the young brunette bartender. Emily huffed quietly and walked right next to her bosses' boss and said to the young woman behind the bar "Another round for that table over there please." As she gave the young woman her famous stare down.
"Having a good time Agent Prentiss?" Erin Strauss asked with a slight smirk at seeing the familiar jealous look on Emily's face.
"Not as much fun as you it seems Chief Strauss." Emily states while waiting for her drinks.
Erin shakes her head and sighs "Emily are we ever going to be civil again?"
Emily grips the bar top tighter "I don't Erin, I guess we could if you tell me why I really got transferred to the BAU now even though I put in the request five years ago before you became section chief?" She stares at Erin waiting for an answer and all she gets in return is a defeated look and a sigh from her boss.
"Here you are hon." The bartender says breaking up the tension between the two strong willed FBI agents in front of her.
Emily pays for the drinks and says "Have a nice night Erin" over her shoulder as she walks back to her teammates.
Erin sighs while watching her walk away "You too Emily" she whispers in the air.
