Maka awoke and smiled as Kid was still lying next to her in bed. They were spooning, with her being the little spoon. She wiggled a bit and laughed when she heard Kid make a noise of protest. When she was able to she slipped out of bed and began getting dressed. Once she finished she looked back over at Kid and jumped when she saw him awake and groggily staring at her.

"Morning handsome," she said.

"Morning beautiful," he replied as he stretched.

He sat up and looked down at his hands. It looked like he wanted to tell her something. She sat down on the bed and took his hands and tilted her head silently asking what was wrong.

"Im going to be going away for awhile Maka. It will be a 3 week long mission, and I leave tonight," he said.

"Why didnt you tell me sooner?" Was the first thing Maka asked.

"I-I didnt want to ruin the day yesterday. I just found out yesterday morning. Theres a pair of witch twins that are gathering kishin eggs to destroy a city. Its the perfect time to get 99 souls and a witch for both Liz and Patty at the same time. I have to take it," he said.

"Kid, Im not mad at you. Im sad I wont see you, but I can understand why you didnt tell me," she said kissing his cheek. "Ill miss you a lot."

"Ill miss you to Maka. And Liz and Patty will miss there boyfriends. Thank you for not hating me."

"Just please dont do this again. Give me warning when you have to leave. If you dont I will give you a Maka-Chop," she said pulling a book from nowhere and holding it menacingly.

Kid nodded before he got up and got dressed as well. Together they went to breakfast where Patty and Liz were already sitting at the table. Both looking sad but excited for the mission to come.

When they got to school Soul and Chrona were waiting for them. They all said there goodbyes to their lovers and then Chrona Maka and Soul went to class.

"I don't know how to deal with goodbyes to a girlfriend," said Chrona as tears filled his eyes.

"Its not a goodbye. Its a see you later. They will be back, we just have to wait fir them to come home and cheer them on from afar," said Maka smiling.

"Agreed. They kick ass together. They will suceed and be home soon. Hell maybe earlier than planned. That would be so cool," said Soul.

"Yeah your both right," said Chrona.

The group then went to class.

The class went by quickly, and soon it was time to go home. As Soul and Maka gathered there things they were stopped by Stein and asked to stay over for a special lesson. They agreed and followed Stein to the wooded area of the school.

"Alright, we are going to start this with a test. Maka, use Soul to battle me and Spirit," said Stein. "And dont hold back. Come at me like you want to kill me."

"Alright professor," said Maka as Soul transformed and landed in her hands.

Spirit transformed as well and Maka made the firt move. She swung at Stein with Soul. Stein ducked down and swiped at her legs with Spirit. She jumped up and brought Soul down onto Stein. He jumped back to avoid it and landed a kick on Maka's side. She grunted but recovered quickly.

"Lets go Soul. Soul resonance!" Said Maka.

"Us to Spirit, soul resonance!"

"No not against my daughter!" Said Spirit.

Stein rolled his eyes as he leaned down and whispered something to Spirit. The scythe blushed and did as Stein asked.

Both scythes were charged up and they both ran at eachother and attacked. They were evenly matched. Maka and Souls resonance broke first, and Stein knocked Soul out of her hands using the back of Spirits blade. Maka turned and tried to get him back but Stein grabbed her wrist and flipped her on the ground, discarding Spirit. He then pinned her hands down with one hand and raised his other with his soul force activated.

He didnt use it to attack her though. Instead he gave her a smile and said "We won".

"Now Maka, what do you think your greatest weakness is?" Asked Stein as he got off her and helped her up.

"Once I lose Soul, im open to attack," she said brushing off her skirt.

"Correct. When you are ready we can start training you in self defense. First ill teach you, then Black*Star will. Usually Kid would teach you but since he isnt here us two will make due." Said Stein.

"Im ready now," said Maka.

"Alright. Soul, Spirit you two can do whatever. Lets begin Maka," said Stein as he took off his lab coat and started showing her basic stances.

With her extra lessons, the weeks flew past for Maka. Chrona took some missions of his own to help his time fly. Soul was... not having fun with it. He had nothing to do since Maka was training. He didnt have to be there with her every day, so he took to going on walks and thinking about things.

Its so weird to think that 2 months ago he liked Maka. Now those feelings are way gone. And now he was with Liz. He was happy with Liz, even though sometimes she could be to much. They argued quite a bit, but for the most part they were happy. She was hot, spunky, and knew how to take care of herself. She was pretty funny, and very loyal and dependable.

He first started talking to her but didnt pursue anything cause of Maka. Then when he knew his feelings were gone he told her he was ready to try dating. The night before she left they kissed for the first time. It was a wonderful experience, and a lot cooler than the pocky game.

He was walking back towards the forest area to get Maka. He came in the clearing and saw her and Black*Star were finishing up there spar. She had already beat Stein, and so far her record is lasting 1 minute against Black*Star (he was fast).

He watched as they spared, and eventually it ended with Maka being forced on the ground and Black*Star went to punch her in the face. What happened next surprised all parties there. A blade came out of Maka's shoulder and stabbed Black*Stars arm that was about to hit her.

Her eyes were still closed, and all the rest of us stared in shocked silence. Maka opened her eyes and blinked at the blade, before she screamed in fear. It disappeared before re-emerging from her arm. Black*Star got off of her and Tsubaki began wrapping his arm.

"Maka calm down," said Stein as he put his hand on her shoulder and she stilled.

He had used his soul sutures to stop her movements. The blade disappeared as well.

"Stein what happened?" Asked Spirit concerned.

"I dont know. My guess is your weapon blood got passed down to her and it a activated. But why would it wait till now?" He mused. "Anyway we should go see Lord Death. Maka, I am going to hndye the sutures. Dont freak out alright?"

He released her and she sat up and hugged herself. Soul kneeled beside her and took her hand in comfort. Once she got her barring he helped her up and they went to Lord Deaths room. Black*Star and Tsubaki headed to the nurse office to Nygus. Once in Lord Deaths office they told him what happened.

"Wowee. Maka Albarn, sycthe miester and weapon! Why did it appear so late though? What happened before the blade appeared?" He asked.

"Black*Star and her were sparring and he had her pinned. Instead of relenting he went for one more hit and thats when her blade appeared. Seems when she was in a place of helplessness it activiated. However if that were the case it should have happened back when Chrona was first introduced. So why now?" Mused Stein.

"Stein if you dissect my daughter we are over with," said Spirit.

"Hm damn. Well I have no clue," said Stein.

Maka squeeked at that and Soul glared. Lord Death just sweat dropped.

"Well well, guess all we can do is teach you how to use it. You dont have to use it once its under control. Keep it as a trump card in battle if you wish. Nygus can help since she is our only weapon teacher at the moment," said Death. "Anything else?"

Everyone shook there heads and started to leave.

"Before you go though Stein, Spirit, stay behind. I have to talk to you," said Death.

Soul and Maka looked at eachother and shrugged before leaving.

"Wow. A weapon and a miester. I knew I had the coolest partner," said Soul with a grin.

Maka giggled at him and smiled. Together they made there way to Nygus.
