The Doctor laughed as they took off. Ethan, still clinging on for dear life, glared at the Doctor. The TARDIS stopped shaking. It had finally landed. Ethan let go of the railing, feeling ready to hurl.
"That was fun," The Doctor said.
"You are gonna be the death of me," Ethan put his computer down and grabbed his overcoat. The Doctor grabbed his overcoat and walked out. Ethan grabbed his AK-47 leaning against a railing, strapped it to his back, grabbed a crowbar, and left. As soon as he walked out, he regretted it. A bunch of snake men. Most of them had legs, but what was distinguishing was the color of there scales. Some had blue, others had red, and more had green and black. They seemed to be underground, an abandoned train track, maybe. Ethan held his metal hand up to his mouth.
"Scan species," He whispered. The Doctor, with his usual goofy grin, walks up to the crowd.
"Hello!" He said. "Would you mind telling us where we are?"
"Scan complete," Ethan's hand said silently. "Species: Serpentine,"
"That's new," He muttered. He placed a hand on his Magnum.
"Before we get into anything, we should introduce ourselves," Ethan said. "I'm Lieutenant Ethan Crow, and this is Doctor John Smith,"
"Get them!" Someone yelled. The crowd started to charge, and the Doctor held his sonic screwdriver up in the air and turned it on, giving off a loud, ear-piercing sound, making Ethan hold his ears, and the serpentine hold whatever they call ears. The Doctor turned it off and grabbed Ethan's hand.
"Run!" He cried. They ran in a random direction, away from the serpentine. After a few minutes of running, they stopped and found themselves in a dark tunnel. Ethan leaned against a wall, and the Doctor paced.
"Doctor, even though I can't see, I can tell you're pacing," Ethan said.
"Well, I'm just worried about the TARDIS," The Doctor said.
"Okay." Ethan said. "Though I could really go for some scotch right now," He felt something bump him. He placed a hand on it, and it felt like a glass bottle.
"Ah, thank you Doctor," Ethan drank some of it, and then spat it out.
"This isn't scotch! This is wine! Doctor!" Ethan shouted.
"I didn't give you anything," Ethan froze, heart beating through his chest. He turned around and pulled a flashlight out of his pocket. He pointed it at the thing that handed him the wine and turned it on. He gasped.
Another serpentine. Instead of legs, he had a big purple tail. His had a long, slender neck, and purple scales. He had two long fangs visible and emerald embedded in his head with yellow-and-black star design tattoos going down the back of his neck and around the emerald, down his spine and his tail. He had malevolent purple eyes with slanted pupils, and black scales around them. He had an emerald embedded in his chest with black on the top spreading downwards to the height of the wrists, with purple curving from the sides of the chests. Daggers of yellow sprinting straight to his shoulders and down along the black line pointing downward, not completely but the point shifting sideways so the bottom part is pointing to the hip, and upwards looking like it but not pointing to the hip. At the very bottom, black spreads and then curls with yellow in the middle. His hands had a darker purple color. Ethan stumbled backwards, dropping the flashlight. The serpentine picked it up and, oddly, handed it to him. Ethan was confused.
A serpentine helping me? He thought. One second, they want to capture and/or kill us, and the next, they're helping us? What the freak?
"Uh, thank you?" Ethan said. He got up. He quickly noticed that the serpentine was taller than him. "What's your name, if you have one?"
"Pythor P. Chumsworth," The serpentine said, bowing.
"Um, okay," Ethan said, looking at Pythor if he were insane. "My name is-"
"Lieutenant Ethan Crow," Pythor said. Ethan looked surprised.
"How do you…?" Ethan stepped backwards cautiously.
"I heard you try diplomacy," Pythor slithered forward, and Ethan walked beside him.
"What are you a Lieutenant of anyway?" Pythor asked. His slow and oily voice sent spiders up Ethan's spine.
I've faced more than a voice. Daleks, homicidal robots, and so much more. Why does he scare me?
"A military corporation called the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, otherwise called U.N.I.T.," Ethan explained. "I was with them for a few years, but just recently retired. My friend the Doctor has been with them for about 52 years," They reached the end of the tunnel, which was where they landed. He saw the TARDIS. And the Doctor tied up to a pole.
"Doctor!" Ethan ran up, not noticing the crowd of serpentine that had chased them earlier. He started untying the Doctor when Pythor placed a hand on Ethan. He looked up, and saw that Pythor had a knife to Ethan's throat.
"Sorry, but I have a feeling you're with the ninja," He said.
"Great, snakes, and now ninja?" Ethan muttered. "What has the world come to? People that are more insane than me?" Pythor lowered his knife slightly.
"You don't know the ninja?" He hissed.
"Truth is, I'm a time traveler and planet traveler," Ethan said. "Hence the 'Mysterious' blue box over there called the TARDIS,"
"Prove it," Pythor growled.
"Fine," Ethan grabbed his AK-47 and held it in front of him. "You've seen one of these?"
"No," Pythor said.
"Then let me show you what it does," Ethan pointed it at the ceiling and fired, making a big dent in the stone. He reloaded and strapped it back on his back. Pythor's eyes were wide.
"Now do you believe me?" Ethan said. Pythor nodded.
"Good." Ethan finished untying the Doctor, who looked at Pythor and smiled.
"Thank you," The Doctor said. The tunnel rumbled.
"Always with the guns… You could've used my sonic screwdriver," The Doctor said. The tunnel collapsed, bearing down on everyone. Ethan grabbed the Doctor and Pythor and leaned over them like a shield, hoping for the best.
