Maka and the gang finished in the infirmary and were hanging out on the steps at the school. Chrona joined them since he got back from a mission. Suddenly a dark light shined behind them and they turned and saw Kid emerge with 2 big guns. The guns turned into Liz and Patty.
"EEEEEEEEEE" Squealed Patty as she glomped Chrona.
Chrona was prepared the moment he saw her and easily caught her. They spun and kissed passionately, so happy to be together again.
"SOUL!" Said Liz as she ran to him and he met her halfway in a hug. They then shared a softer kiss but still had passion from where they missed eachother.
"Maka," whispered Kid.
Maka's eyes filled with tears and she threw herself in his waiting arms. They also shared a passionate kiss.
Maka, I missed you so much," said Kid when they parted.
"I missed you to Kid, So much! I have something to show you." Said Maka stepping away from Kid.
"Yeah you guys gotta check out Maka's new skill! Not as awesome as me, but pretty close!" Declared Black*star as him and Tsubaki made their appearance known in the background.
Maka closed her eyes and concentrated hard. Kid gasped when a blade appeared from her knee.
"Oops, wrong place, I just learned of my ability today, and Nigus taught me how to control when it comes out. I cant control where it comes out of though, but I can make it appear and disapear at will." She said with a smile.
"I knew my girl was special, but this is unbelievable," said Kid as he smiled at her.
She lit up at that and they kissed again, but were interrupted by a clearing of throat and turned to see Spirit standing there.
Kid, go see Stein, as for the rest of you stay out here, I have to talk to you all," He said.
Kid got a bad feeling right then and went inside to his father's office, leaving Spirit to tell the kids the news. Kid entered the room and saw Stein standing there holding his father's cloak and mask. Kids blood ran cold, but he denied the possibility.
"W-Wheres my father?" He asked.
"Kid... or should I say Lord Death the Kid. Your father has passed away. You are the new Shinigami," said Stein as he handed Kid the cloak and mask.
"N-No. He didnt tell me about this. I-I didnt get to say goodbye," said Kid as tears fell down his cheeks.
"Im sorry Kid," said Stein.
Kid buried his face in his father's cloak and cried. He heard footsteps running his way and then he felt warm arms engolf him. He looked and saw Maka with tears of her own falling down her face. He felt a hand on his shoulder a d turned to see Liz with tears in her eyes holding his shoulder, and next to her Patty was sobbing while holding onto his hand.
Soul and Black*Star each put a hand on his shoulder, both had misty eyes. Tsubaki was next to him crying and Chrona sat behind him, not touching him but showing silent support.
They all cried and mourned the loss of Death. Stein left to give them privacy. Kid knew he wasnt alone even though he lost his father. He had his family and friends there for him. With that feeling he officially hit his limit of physcial and emotional capacity, and together they all went to his home.
Kid woke up to the morning light shining in his eyes. He stretched and looked around with a smile. They were in the living room on couches. Maka was curled up by his side, Liz was asleep sprawled on the couch with Soul on the floor beside it.
Patty was snuggled with Chrona, and Tsubaki was asleep on another couch alone. Kid noticed Black*Star was missing. He got up carefully, making sure he didnt disturb Maka, and then went outside. He found Black*Star perched on the balcony rail looking out onto the city.
He joined him on the balcony and stood beside him, also looking over the city. His city. He saw Black*Stars eyes were red. But he didnt ask him any questions.
"You know, I should have died with the rest of my clan. But Lord Death spared me. He had Sid raise me and gave me shelter and food. He gave me the life I live today. I was also grateful to him, and will never forget what all he did," Said Black*Star. "But that chapter is over now. Its your time Kid, show us your awesomeness. Your not as awesome as me, but you will do great. We will be here to kick your butt if you dont."
Kid felt his throat close up and his eyes sting. He knew Black*Star spoke the truth.
"Thank you Black*Star," he said.
They stood in silence awhile longer before they went inside. They saw Liz was awake and her and Kid went to make breakfast (symmetrical of course). Soon eveyone woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon and pancakes. Tsubaki also joined in to help.
They all ate there breakfast then all went to there repsective homes. Kid took Loz and Patty to go see Stein to prepare for the ceremony that would happen today. He found himself smiling as he looked towards the future. He was going to make his father proud of him and live up to be a great shinigami. He knew he could with his friends and Maka by his side.
Kid quick! You need to come now! Its time!" Said Soul as he burst in the room.
"What already? Shit I'm coming!" said Kid as he threw on his cloak and mask. He used a telelportal and after Soul talked to a nurse they went to the appointed room. Soul was told to stay outside with his wife, Liz so Kid went in ran to her side and grabbed her hand. "Maka! Maka I'm here alright? Just breathe okay? and don't forget to push."
"Of course not! I can't forget while she's already coming out Damnit!" She yelled as she tighten her grip on his hand.
After many more minutes they heard the cries of a newborn. Kid laughed as tears came to my eyes and he saw Maka was handed the baby in a pink blanket. Kid sat in the bed with her and wrapped his arms around her as the nurse took the baby.
"I can't believe time flew by that fast," Kid said with a smile.
"Me neither Kid, it seems like it wasn't that long ago that I became your wife, but here we are 6 years down the road, Souls my death scythe, I'm married to you, and we just had our first baby!" She said.
"Go to sleep Maka, you need rest." Kid said as he kissed her forehead and went out to the waiting room.
"Dude Kid! Hey bro! How's Maka?" Said Black*star as him and Tsubaki were playing with their kids.
They had firstly a girl they named Sakura. Since Tsubaki was a flower, they wanted their daughter to be a flower name to so they picked Sakura, the cherry blossom which worked because she had long straight pink hair and green eyes and was 3 years old. They so had a 1 year old with brown eye tuff of black hair on her head. They decided to call her Pink*Star to also carry on his naming legacy.
Black star looked very much the same except a lot taller and surprisingly his ego calmed down and he actually had 10 souls for Tsubaki! Now Tsubaki had her hair cut shorter and didn't grow much, but her eyes still was happy and calm when she was with Black*star and the kids. They have been married for 7 years now.
"Yeah man, tell us what's up! It's not cool to withhold information!" Said Soul.
Him and Liz have just recently gotten married, for they went through a lot of bumps in their relationship, and Soul didn't want to jump right in, so unlike everyone else, they have only been married 2 years. Liz had long hair that reached the back of her knees and gained a little weight. She didn't grow taller but she was still happy. Soul had sprouted up tall, and had longer shoulder-length spiky hair still the color white.
"She is doing good, and I have a beautiful daughter!" Said Kid with tears in his eyes. Black*star and Soul high-fived him, and the girls gave him congratulation hugs.
Kid and Maka have been married 6 years now and just had there first kid. Maka's hair was down to her waist and she kept it down for the most part. Her and Soul were successful in collecting all the souls needed, but Kid didn't want to seperate them.
He was actually working on a policy that lets meisters keep there weapons at death scythe status. The catch is they had to take a yearly psychology exam to make sure they arent going to stray from the lath of good.
"So what are you going to name her?" Asked Chrona as he and Patty just entered the room. Chrona and Patty have been married 5 years and had one kid, age 2, male. After awhile Stein finally came up with a way to remove Ragnorak from Chrona, and refill his body with normal blood.
Chrona became a civilian and even though he says he doesn't everyone knows he misses Ragnorak. With the black blood removed Ragnorak was taken from this world and destroyed. Kid and Stein made absolute sure Chrona was okay with that, and Ragboral as well. Ragnorak agreed, said he was tired if this world now that he didnt get to kill. They named their son Norak after him. He has short pink hair with blond highlights and pale blue eyes.
"I don't know yet, we talked about it but Maka needs her rest," He said as he ran his hand through his hair. "I can't believe I'm a father now! I wonder if thisnis how ky dad felt before..." They all gathered around him and hugged him tight.
"You are officially a true man now Kid!" Said Black*star as he ruffled Kids hair. He pushed his hand away and then a nurse came in and told him Maka was asking for him. He entered the room and she motioned him towards her. He sat down on the bed with her and she cuddled up to him.
"What shall we name her?" She asked softly.
"Hm, what do you think?" He asked. The nurse came in with there daughter and gave her to them with a smile. They cuddled together and they looked into there daughters eyes. They were bright yellow and she had tuffs of black hair. Her eyes were wide as she giggled and reached towards Kids hands.
"She looks like you Kid," Said Maka.
"But she has your nose," said Kid as he poked Maka in her nose making her laugh.
"Lets name her…Kami, it means God in English. Pretty fitting for the future female Shinigami," said Kid with a smile.
"Heehee that was my mom's name," She said with a smile.
They heard a commotion in the waiting room and the door opened to reveal Spirit, and Stein in the doorway. Spirit came straight in and crouched down on the other side of Maka as Stein stood by the door with a smile on his face.
"Oh My! My little Maka's officially grown up now… Can I hold her?" Asked Spirit. Maka glared but handed Kami over.
"Her names Kami," said Kid with a smile. "How'd the mission go?"
"It went good, we succeeded," Said Stein as he walked over and put an arm around Spirit and looked at the baby girl. "She has your eyes Kid, and your nose Maka, wow a female Shinigami? That should be interesting…"
"Im a granddad!" Squealed Spirit as he cried.
Kid walked forward and took Kami from him and held her close to his chest. He looked down and saw her smile at him. He laid back down next to Maka as a nurse then came in to kick Spirit and Stein out. Kid kissed Maka gently on the lips.
"I love you Maka," he said.
"I love you to Kid," She said and they stayed like that till the nurse took the baby and Kid had to leave.
'The future is sure to be interesting.' He thought, 'how do I train a FEMALE to be Shinigami?'
And thats it! Story is completed! I am working on a sequel about Kami's life and already got a good plot going so Ill be posting that soon if anyone would be interested in that. Thank you for those who read this and hope you enjoyed. Feedback is apprecoated in all forms.
