"Sokka! You know I'm always glad when Suki's here, but can you stop sucking face and come here to help!"

Katara sighed as silence echoed back as her response. Throwing parties was Sokka's thing but for some reason she was always dragged into setting and cleaning up.

"Don't worry Katara, we still have an hour before people start coming," Aang was setting up the bar, "And we're almost done."

She gave him an appreciated smile, "Thanks Aang, I can at least always count on you."

Footsteps stumbled into the living room before Katara could catch Aang blushing. Sokka walked in, arms full of grocery bags, "Who's ready to partyyyy!" He did a little dance towards the counter.

Katara frowned, "Where have you been, I thought you were with Suki in your room."

"Contrary to your assumptions, I was out buying all this shit for our party," he grinned and nodded at Aang, "I was in fact helping."

'Why do I always have to do all the work for your parties," Katara shook her head as she continued moving furniture around.

"Hey! It's OUR party," Sokka started to slide the alcohol onto the bar counter, "Plus what's there to set up, all we need is booze and music." He cocked a grin, "And I always bring the best of both."

Aang laughed as Katara waved him away in annoyance, "Whatever, everything is done anyways, I'm gonna go get ready."

"Don't worry sis, I'll be right here," Sokka grinned and poured himself a drink, "being helpful."

Katara rolled her eyes and headed back to her room to change.

The party began smoothly with Sokka manning the music and Aang bouncing around encouraging everyone to dance. Both Aang and Sokka were a part of a lot of university clubs and many of their members had shown up. Both of the university swim teams trickled in, Katara being the women's swim captain. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.

Katara was refilling her drink when Suki walked over. She smiled, "So what do you think of Republic city?"

Suki leaned against the wall, taking a break from the crowd, "Different, but in a good way. I was super overwhelmed at first being from such a small island, but Sokka really helped." Suki glanced over at her boyfriend losing at beer pong in the corner and chuckled.

"He's been super happy ever since you transferred," Katara said, "annoying, but happy."

Suki laughed, "I forget you have to deal with him 24/7, I'm so sorry."

They laughed for a bit and then settled into a comfortable silence.

"So you and Aang?" Suki suddenly said, looking at her.

Katara almost spit out her drink, "What? Who told you that?"

Suki frowned, confused, "He just talked so much about you and how much you two hang out, I just assumed."

The alcohol was suddenly starting to give Katara a headache. She groaned, "No just friends, I've been meaning to have that talk with him but haven't gotten around to it."

A subtle murmur suddenly swept through the party and Katara looked up to find a group of four striding in. She smiled as she recognized Zuko, but her smile quickly disappeared as she saw who was next to him, "What is she doing here?"

"Azula?" Suki questioned, "Sokka invited them this morning."

Katara sighed, "Only he would, why is he so friendly."

"Why? She didn't seem the friendliest but she was polite when Sokka introduced me," Suki took a sip from her drink and gave a slight smile, "And she's kinda hot."

Katara choked on her drink.

Suki shrugged, "What? I mean I guess all of them are.."

"No it's not that," Katara laughed, "She's just kind of famous at the university for being...I don't know….intimidating."

"Who is she?"

The party finally started shifting away from their entrance when Katara began to give Azula a second look. Suki wasn't wrong. Azula was dressed in a black silk top and leather pants that showed off her well-toned legs. Her long hair was worn down with small but flashy jewelry highlighting her features. Katara watched as Azula got a drink and leaned against the wall, her toned arms slightly flexing as she crossed them looking annoyed.

Suki definitely wasn't wrong.

"Katara?" Suki waved a hand in front of her face.

"Huh?" Katara blinked.

"Who's Azula again?"

"Oh right," Katara took another shot, "Her and Zuko are the kids of a prominent donor family, you probably know them."

"I probably don't...our island was pretty off the-grid…"

"They're Ozai and Ursa's kids."

"Oh!" Suki's eyes widened in surprise.

Katara nodded. She didn't press when Zuko didn't speak much about his family. She knew Ozai and Ursa's royal divorce sparked major controversy and headlines across the nation. Ursa won custody of the kids, but let them leave for university. Both Zuko and Azula now lived with their uncle in a very large family estate within Republic City.

"Katara!" Aang bounded over all smiles, "Dance with me?"

"Aang…"

Suki gave them a sad smile and tossed her cup away, "I'll leave you two alone."

Aang looked at Katara, confused, "Huh?"

Might as well just get this over with. Katara sighed, "Aang, we should probably talk. Let's go somewhere private."
