I know I have a bunch of stories started already, but I just really felt like writing this.
Well, at least I've got one story with a schedule, but let me know if you want to read more of this.
Just like Ephialtes, I will be answering reviews in the chapter you commented. Please enjoy
A young blonde girl, about 9 years of age, tried her best to navigate through a thick crowd while calling for her sister's name.
The two of them came to the city of Vale with their father to buy some items he couldn't find on Patch. While their father was shopping, the two girls slipped away and started playing tag in the city's streets.
However, there was a protest happening at the same time, and the youngest sibling had gotten the brilliant idea of running into the crowd to lose her older sister.
The blonde girl, Yang, got worried when she saw her sister disappear into the crowd, and wisely decided that the game was over.
However, instead of getting her father to help, she opted to look for her little sister herself.
" Ruby ! I give up ! You win ! Where are you ?! " shouted Yang as she made her way through the crowd.
The people barely noticed her, and she ended up bumping into someone and being sent sprawling to the ground.
She didn't stay down long. Her sister could be in danger, she needed to be there for her. She won't let this be like two years ago.
" Chic ! " she heard close to her. Looking in the direction the cry came from, she saw a small orange and yellow chick, that barely stood above her knees.
" Torchic ! Did you find her ? " she asked, hugging her Pokémon.
" Vee ! " answered another Pokémon.
Yang looked down to see an adorable piece of fur, a bit smaller than her Torchic.
Recognizing the new arrival, Yang panicked and let go of her Pokémon.
" Eevee ! Where's Ruby ? " she almost shouted.
" Vee ! Eev ! " answered the Pokémon as it turned around and started running through the crown.
" Let's follow her Torchic ! " shouted Yang as she started to run after the Pokémon.
The people around them reflexively dodged the running girl and the two Pokémon as they made their way through. Eventually, they got out of the crowd and arrived before a crying little girl in a red hood.
" Vee ! " cried out Eevee.
The little girl stopped her sobs when she heard the cry, and looked up.
" Eevee ! " shouted the girl with black hair and red tips, opening her arms.
Eevee jumped in the little girl's arms, who hugged her, while Yang hugged her little sister.
" Ruby, I'm so glad I found you. I'm so glad you're alright." she said.
" I was so scared." admitted the little girl through her tears, " I was running, then I couldn't get out, then I lost Eevee, and... and..."
" Shhhh." soothed Yang, " I'm here now, Eevee's here now. Everything's fine."
Ruby slowly relaxed in her sister's arms. Along with her red hood, her mother had gifted her Eevee before she disappeared. To Ruby, losing Eevee was like losing her mother all over again.
The little girl slowly fell asleep in her sister's arms, and so did Eevee.
" Whelp, I guess I have to carry them back to dad, right Torchic ? " softly said Yang.
" Chic ! " chirped the pokémon.
Yang slowly put her curled up sister on her back, making sure not to crush Eevee between the two of them, and started walking towards where they left their father. This time making sure to avoid the crowd.
" Why are there so many people here anyway ? " she wondered.
The people there were protesting against Faunus discrimination.
Since forever, because of their animal characteristics, Humans thought Faunus were Pokémon too, even though they could speak.
All of this changed when Pokéballs were invented, for Humans realized that Pokéballs worked on all Pokémons, except Faunus.
People then started to doubt, and both Humans and Faunus started to mingle.
As time went on, and after a few bloody wars, Faunus were given full rights in every Kingdom, along with the island of Menagerie as an apology.
But just because they had equal rights didn't mean they had equal treatment. Discrimination still ran rampant at all levels of society and Faunus kept protesting for things to change.
And like at every protest, in the front row stood, next to her parents, a raven-haired little girl and her Rowlet, a beige owl with a green bow.
" Filthy Faunus and their stupid protest. If only they could shut up and go back to work I wouldn't have to lay them off so often." growled Jacques Schnee, a white man with white hair in a white suit as he heard the news on his scroll.
Following quietly was a young 9 year old with white hair and a white dress. Today was the day she got her first Pokémon, thanks to her father, and she didn't want to upset him and risk going back home empty handed.
The father-daughter pair walked through the streets of Atlas, the young girl having to run to catch up from time to time.
" Hurry along Weiss." warned her father, " I want to spend as little time as possible in this dreadful place."
" It's the street father." answered the little girl.
" Exactly. A dreadful place filled with people. Most of them unworthy to breath the same air as us." said the man, " If only all the chauffeurs weren't on leave at the same time. I'll have to reprimand Klein later for letting this happen."
The pair entered into a Pokémon store.
" Here." said the father, " We'll find you the perfect Pokémon."
Weiss looked around. There were so many Pokémons in the shop. It was magical.
There were Spheals, Swinubs, Piplups and so much more. The Pokémons here were native to Atlas, and all resistant to the cold.
Then Weiss found a little bundle of ice, a ball of snow about as big as a rugby ball with rounded icy spikes on its back. A Snom.
She slowly brought her finger up to touch the creature, but was interrupted by her father.
" Weiss ! " Jacques called, " Come here, I have the perfect Pokémon for you."
Weiss reluctantly pulled away from the Snom to get to her father. In front of him proudly stood a Piplup, a forty centimeters tall light blue penguin that looked like it had a blue hood.
" This Piplup is an exceptional Pokémon." explained her father, " He even already knows Drill Peck, despite having just hatched."
" Thanks father." said Weiss, " I'll take good care of him."
" You better." dully said her father, " You should always take good care of your assets. Now get its Pokéball. I've already paid for it so I'll wait for you outside."
" Yes father." she answered to the leaving man.
Weiss looked at the Piplup. There was something in the small penguin that ticked her off. Somehow, it was like it was looking down on her. The smug look on its face reminded her of her little brother and it annoyed her.
Behind the counter, a clerk came by with a Pokéball in his hand.
" Miss Schnee, here is his Pokéball." said the clerk.
" His ? " noted the girl.
" He's male. People usually like to gender identify their Pokémons. That's what friends do." explained the clerk.
" Friends..." wondered Weiss as she took the Pokéball and pulled the Piplup back into it, " Sir, may I ask about this Pokémon over there ? "
She pointed at the Snom she had seen earlier.
" Snom ? Her kind is very popular with the kids nowadays, but this one's been sitting there for a while. People like the friendlier ones, so I guess her lonely nature makes her a bit too cold for their taste." answered the clerk.
Weiss looked at the Snom. It was lonely, just like her. She liked that Pokémon even more now.
" How much ? " she asked.
" Huh ? " was the answer she got.
" I said, how much for the Snom ? " she asked again.
" Honestly ? If you can convince her to follow you, she's free. I haven't seen anyone she wanted to get close with." answered the clerk.
Weiss put Piplup's Pokéball inside her pocket, and timidely approached the Snom, hand hesitantly reaching out.
The Snom pushed it's head, the part not covered in ice, into Weiss' hand, snuggling within her palm. The sensation was cold, yet the softness made her feel like she could pet her for hours.
" Well color me impressed." said the clerk, " I've never seen her react to anyone like that, even when I feed her. I'll get the Pokéball."
Weiss reached out with her other hand and gently grabbed the Snom, holding her close to her chest while petting her. She even started petting the spikes on her back, biting down the freezing cold to hear the happy purrs the Pokémon was making.
The clerk came back with the Pokéball, and gave it to Weiss, who let Snom pull herself inside.
" Well, congratulations on getting not one, but two Pokémons today miss." said the clerk, " Let me just run you through the basics of taking care of them."
" I'm sorry sir, but if I take too long my father's going to get worried. I should go. I'll ask my butler all the specifics once I get home, I promise." cut off Weiss.
" I guess it's fine. Have a nice day ! " said the clerk.
" Thank you ! " answered Weiss as she walked out of the store.
" You sure took your time." noted her father.
" Sorry father, I was only learning on how to properly take care of Piplup." she answered, making sure Snom's Pokéball was safely hidden inside her pockets.
" Good. Information is always important to know, no matter what you want to do." acknowledge her father, " Now follow me. We should get home as fast as we can."
The man then took off with large steps, making the little girl following run from time to time to catch up, just like when they came.
On their way, the man failed to notice a little girl with brown hair getting out of an alley and bumping into his leg. The girl was wearing rags and looked like she hadn't showered for several weeks, at the very least.
Jacques immediatly balked when the girl impacted his leg, kicking her even further away from him.
" Get away you little runt." he almost shouted, " Filthy piece of a grimer nearly ruined my suit."
The young girl was sent sprawling at the entrance of the alleyway. She was seeing stars, but soon in the middle of the stars was the face of a young white fox with fluffy white hair.
"Get that Vulpix !" she heard a voice shout.
The little girl shook her head. That's right, she was running away from the bad guys that wanted to catch this Atlesian Vulpix.
This specie was extremely rare due to being chased to near extinction for their furs, which the bad people behind them were after. Moreover, this particular Vulpix had hail follow her wherever she went, making her even rarer.
The girl pulled herself up and grabbed the Vulpix, running away as fast as she could while carrying her.
She didn't stay long on the main stree, immediatly dashing towards another alley. She was dressed in rags so anyone would believe she had just stolen a Pokémon.
She heard the voices behind her grow closer and closer with each passing second. She was starting to panic, not wanting to leave Vulpix to whatever fate awaited her if she got caught. Then, the Pokémon in her arms started wriggling out. She had to struggle so as not to drop her.
The Vulpix didn't want to leave her arms, simply to get her face behind the girl, facing the ones chasing them. Then, in a low cry, the Pokémon unleached a hail of Powder Snow, freezing the ground and halting their pursuers.
The girl took a corner and jumped inside an opened house, closing the door behind her. Only then did she let herself breath and relax while she let Vulpix go.
The Pokémon didn't leave her side. Instead, she gently snuggled up to the little girl and opened her furry train to protect the girl from the hail clouds that were starting to form inside the house.
The little girl really wanted to rest, but she flinched when she heard some noise.
She then remembered were she was. Inside someone else's home. Someone who had left the door open.
The girl shakily stood up, and Vulpix climbed on her shoulder, keeping her train over the girl's head.
She slowly walked through the house, trying to find where the sounds were coming from, until she walked into an orange haired man in a white suit and a flying keychain.
" Klefki." said the man wearily, " Did you forget to lock the door ? Again ? "
The keychain made a low sound, like a child that was caught forgetting his homework.
The man sighed and looked at the little girl. With her rags it was obvious she didn't live here, and while the Pokémon on her head was extremely valuable, he had never stooped so low as to poach Pokémons, and he wouldn't start now.
" Listen kid. You've never seen either me or Klefki here okay ? " he said.
The young girl nodded. Something told her this man wasn't living here, and that he would react badly to her rattling him out.
" Good. Now I suggest you get out with me, because this time Klefki will lock the door." he added.
The little girl shuddered slightly. She was worried about the bad people chasing Vulpix, but staying inside wasn't an option anymore, so she followed him out.
" And can you please put that thing back into its Pokéball ? " asked the man, " This thing's Snow Warning is a beacon to everyone trying to sell. Abomasnows aren't really common around here you know."
The girl looked at the orange haired man strangely. She had met Vulpix only a few hours ago, probably less, there was no way she had a Pokéball for her.
" You don't have a Pokéball do you ? " asked the man.
She shook her head. She knew what Pokéballs were, but never had the chance of even holding one before.
" Here, take one of mine. You can keep it, I can find more easily later." he said as he threw her a Pokéball.
The girl caught the ball and looked at the Vulpix on her shoulder, holding the Pokéball in her palm as if asking if she wanted to get in.
Vulpix jumped on the Pokéball and got pulled inside, the hail storm disappearing with her.
" Great. Goodbye kid. Hope you'll never see me again." said the man as he started walking away, stopping when he heard a growl like thunder.
He turned around. The little girl was red from shame. She had thought she had gotten over being ashamed of having her stomach growl, since she barely ever had anything to eat, but it seemed she really didn't want to look bad in front of someone that had been somewhat kind to her.
The man sighed, and beckoned her to follow him.
" Fine, let's get something to eat." he said.
The girl beamed and ran up to him, the two walking side by side as they left into the distance.
" My name's Roman Torchwick. What's yours? " asked the man.
His only answer was silence.
" You're not really a talker, are you ? "
Haxorus knight : No spoilers ;p.There won't be anyone from the Pokémon series, well except Pokémons obviously.
