Chapter 5: Nabbed A Sword

(Castle Koopa in Dark Land)

A bunch of minions, from both the present and past, were gathered around a stage. Goomba's, Koopa, Shyguy's, Hammer Bros, and alike, all gathered there. It was a little strange to some since half were from a different time period. Eventually, Kamek and Kaster walked on the stage.

Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- Fall in, minions!

All of the minions formed front and center in front of Kamek and Kaster.

Kamek- Let's hear your rallying cries!

Kaster- Goomba's!

All the Goomba's (at once)- Our bodies might be stomped…but our will cannot be crushed! We will forge ahead!

Kamek- What do you say, Koopa Troopa's?

All the Koopa's (at once)- Woe to those who step on us! Our shells are strong…but out spirit is stronger!

(In another part of Castle Koopa)

Bowser Jr and Slicor Jr were just standing in front of the cage Princess Peach and Amethyst were lock in while occasionally hearing the echoes of the minion rally outside.

Bowser Jr- You know what, buddy? I'm bored out of my damn mind.

Slicor Jr- Yeah, me too. Sure, we'll get a reward for watching the princesses, but…I'm bored out of my damn mind.

Bowser Jr- By the way, there's something I've been meaning to ask you. Where are you from, anyway?

Slicor Jr- I came from another part in time. According to what Papa and Kaster told me, when we came out of that strange magic book, we arrived 1,000 years into the future, or the past to you.

Bowser Jr- Does that mean if we had that book, you'd have to go back to the past?

Slicor Jr- Yeah, probably.

Bowser Jr- But hanging out together is the only thing keeping us from dying of boredom!

Slicor Jr- Yeah, going home would be super lame! Wait, I have an idea! Let's just find the book and destroy it! Problem solved!

Bowser Jr- Oh, great idea! I bet our dads would like that too. So any idea where the book is now?

Slicor Jr- Nope, no clue.

At the same time, Princess Peach and Princess Amethyst were having their own conversation while still locked in that cage.

Princess Peach- There must be some way out of here!

Princess Amethyst- Don't you worry, because…

Then Princess Amethyst lifts her crown from her head and revealed a set of keys.

Princess Amethyst- I've got our escape key.

Princess Peach- How did you…

Princess Amethyst- I've been kidnapped by Slicor enough times to know where in his pockets he's hiding his keys. I can basically pickpocket his shell after all the times he's swept me into his Clown Car to be locked up in his castle. However, we need an escape plan before we break out of this cage.

(Back at the minion rally outside)

Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- Who's the strongest?

Bowser's minions- Master Bowser!

Slicor's minions- Master Slicor!

Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- Who is the fiercest?

Bowser's minions- Master Bowser!

Slicor's minions- Master Slicor!

As the minions continued to cheer, Bowser and Slicor eventually walked up on the stage from behind where Kamek and Kaster were standing. However, it wasn't long before Bowser rushed in front of Slicor and tried to block him from view from the audience.

Bowser- Now that we have two armies, there's no stopping us! It's the end of Mario and his pathetic ****ing gang.

Eventually, Slicor managed to move Bowser out of the way and block him from view from the audience like Bowser did to him earlier.

Slicor Koopa- Out of my way, dumbass!

Bowser- What?!

Slicor Koopa- We'll do whatever it takes to grind Marco and the other losers into dust!

Then the crowd of minions began cheering like crazy, despite Bowser and Slicor spending more of the rally trying to knock the other off the stage. Kamek and Kaster watched and prayed that they wouldn't start another fist fight and wreck the whole castle again.

(Dry-Dry Desert)

Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, and Starlow arrived in the desert after trying to pick up the trail of Bowser and Slicor.

Starlow- I think I see Bowser's castle in the distance. Just on the other side of this desert.

Loewy- Funny, even after 1,000 years, Castle Koopa is still in the same location even after all the times Slicor brought the princess there after he kidnapped her.

Marco- Well, so is the Mushroom Kingdom castle. But I'm still expecting some changes to have happened to this world over the past 1,000 years.

Suddenly, a strange looking character named Nabbit rushed past them and bumped Marco from behind.

Nabbit- Out of my way!

Starlow- That guy sure was rude.

Luigi- Nabbit usually is.

Loewy- You know that guy?

Mario- His name is Nabbit. He's a notorious thief in the Mushroom Kingdom and known a lot of trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom. But what brings him all the way to the desert?

Then Marco noticed there wasn't a sheathed sword strapped to his hip.

Marco- Our father's sword?! Little bastard took it! I need to get that sword back!

Starlow- Sure are making a huge fuss over a simple sword

Loewy- That ain't no simple sword. It was actually handcrafted by Arkness, the god who held the title of Lord of the Universe in our time and father of our friend, Kyrin.

Marco- More importantly, it was once wielded by our father. And that sword is the only thing Loewy and I have to remember him by. And I can't return to my time without it!

(Later on in the desert)

Nabbit managed to hide behind a large rock and pull out the large sword out of his sack.

Nabbit- That guy who looks similar to Mario sure does have one remarkable sword. I don't think I've seen a blade this well-crafted before in my life. Must be worth a lot!

Then Nabbit noticed two shadows directly standing in front of him. When Nabbit turned his attention away from Marco's sword, he saw Mario and Luigi.

Mario- Still have a habit of taking what doesn't belong to you, I see.

Nabbit- Uh ho! Time to go!

Nabbit tried to run away, but he ended up crashing into two other men that were standing behind him and Nabbit fell to the ground. When Nabbit looked up, he saw Marco and Loewy were who he crashed into. Before Nabbit could make a run for it, Marco grabbed Nabbit by the ears and lifted him off the ground.

Marco- Hand it over if you know what's good for you!

Nabbit- (Grunt)…fine…

Nabbit reluctantly returned the sword back to Marco before Marco let go of his ears.

Nabbit- Killjoys!

Nabbit began to run away like crazy, leaving a trail of sand and dust behind him.

Loewy- Sure is fast, even for rabbit standards. Not as fast as our friend Chaos, but…

Marco- Loewy, look out!

Marco quickly pushed Loewy out of the way as a large platform was falling from the sky and almost landed on Loewy.

Luigi- Yikes! Where did that come from?!

Kamek/Kaster's voice- NAHAHAHAHAHA!

Mario- I know that laugh anywhere…

Marco- So do I…

Then Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, and Starlow looked up and saw Kamek and Kaster riding their brooms and flying just above them.

Mario- Kamek…

Marco- Kaster…

Kamek- Trying to save the princesses, are you? Well, it won't be so easy, this time.

Then Kaster waved his wand and several more platforms appeared and fell from the sky in several parts of the desert. Blocking multiple paths to cross the desert.

Kaster- You like? That was just something I whipped up during my spare time. What can I say? I'm a crafty henchman.

Kamek- Plus, you got two armies of minions to contend with. Even if there are twice as many Mario Brothers to deal with. It's going to be a long, hard slog to Castle Koopa. In fact, I'd doubt you'd even make it if you spent the rest of your life trying! NAHAHAHAHA!

Kaster- Your laugh is terribly annoying.

Kamek- At least it's not as annoying as yours!

Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- NAHAHAHAHAHA!

Then Kamek and Kaster flew off on their brooms.

Starlow- You know, both Kamek and Kaster seem very similar to one another like how the four of you are similar. But how are we going to reach Bowser's castle?

Marco- I think I know of another route. It might be considered the long way, but it should lead to Dark Land.

(Somewhere else in the desert)

Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, and Starlow arrived in the south end of the desert.

Luigi- You sure you know where you're going?

Marco- We actually took this route in the desert when hiding what remained of King Slicor's Ultimate Star Cannon after me and my friends stopped him from blowing up the Mushroom Kingdom.

Loewy- Except we flew on the Shooting Star airship to the spot where we buried it.

Marco- I paid attention to our course as we were flying. Just in case Slicor or anyone else was on to the Ultimate Star Cannon buried in Dry-Dry Desert.

Luigi- Wait. You mean that big laser cannon that runs on star power?

Loewy- How do you know about that…

Marco- Don't tell me…

Mario- Afraid so. Not that long ago, Bowser dug up the Ultimate Star Cannon after Tabuu hit him in the eye with a book that told Bowser all about that weapon. But you don't have to worry. Luigi and I managed to destroy the Ultimate Star Cannon for good. But that was our last adventure before we ended up with this situation we currently have.

Marco- That's a relief. Slicor's Ultimate Star Cannon was almost as bad as Tabuu's Off Wave attack.

Starlow- Sorry to interrupt, but I think Marco was right about this path. I see a bridge that leads back to Castle Koopa.

Luigi- Hang on! Why does the bridge look so new instead of a rickety one falling apart like in the movies?

Marco- What's a movie?

Starlow- You're joking, right?

Mario- You have to understand that Marco and Loewy are from the past. Most of the things we have today probably don't exist yet. Such as cars, computers, phones, or televisions

Marco- Probably, because Loewy and I don't even know what those things are.

Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, and Starlow walked onto the bridge and began to cross it. Luigi acting a little nervous and taking baby steps with each step on the bridge. Suddenly, these two tall Pokey pop out of the gorge from below. One from the past and one from the present.

Luigi- AAAAAHHH! It's a Pokey attack!

Loewy- I didn't know Pokey could stack their segments this high!

Before they could do anything, the Pokey's shook the bridge and knocked Mario, Luigi, Marco, and Loewy down the gorge.
