Chapter 13: Vs Kamek and Kaster
(In the skies above Peach's castle)
The NEO-Castle Koopa was hovering just above the Mushroom Kingdom and its cannons were out and firing. However, they weren't firing at the Mushroom Kingdom. Instead, Bowser's cannons were firing at the Shooting Star that was trying to fly in close. Magolor was at the steering wheel while Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, Yoshi, Goombario, and Starlow were standing on the deck of the ship.
Magolor- The Shooting Star might be an airship of the gods, but this is still very different from the controls of the Lor Star Cutter!
Mario- You'd rather the Lor Star Cutter being in the line of fire instead?
Magolor- …ok…fair point there, Mario.
Goombario- Cannon fire incoming!
Then they noticed a large cannonball was about to hit the front of the Shooting Star. Luckily, Yoshi launched his tongue and caught the cannonball before spitting back at cannon that fired it.
Luigi- Careful not to push yourself, Yoshi. You're still not fully recovered.
Yoshi- Yoshi still capable for this.
Marco- You just need to get us close enough so the four of us jump onto the castle.
Magolor- Then hold on tight, kiddies! This is going to be a bumpy ride!
Then Magolor flew the Shooting Star through the bombardment of cannon fire while also making sure the Shooting Star didn't get shot down. As the Shooting Star flew right above the front door to the castle, Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, and Starlow jumped off the Shooting Star and onto the NEO-Castle Koopa.
Mario- Thanks you guys. Now get to safety! We'll handle the rest from here.
Then the Shooting Star dashed off to get away from the cannons still firing at it.
Loewy- Hope they'll be ok!
Marco- I also hope they don't damage the Shooting Star.
Mario- Why are you worried? That's the Shooting Star from my time, not yours.
Luigi- Let's just get that book back so we can return every back to the past.
Starlow- Agreed.
Little did they know that Iggy Koopa was watching them from the roof as they entered the castle.
Iggy- I see the Mario Brothers of the present and past have gotten back inside the castle. I better warn the bosses!
(Later in the higher floors of the NEO-Castle Koopa)
Mario, Luigi, Marco, Loewy, and Starlow managed to fight there way up to the same area where they flew off earlier after the castle became airborne.
Starlow- Can't believe we had to deal with twice as many minions than normal just to get up here!
Luigi- Well, we do have two Koopa Kings to deal with here.
Mario- But this is where we last saw the book. Hopefully, no one touched it since.
Bowser's voice- Oh, I wouldn't say that…
Then the door at the other end of the room opened up and out came Bowser, Slicor, Kamek, and Kaster. In Bowser's claw was the book.
Bowser- You retards looking for this?
Mario- Things don't have to get nasty, Bowser. Just hand over the book so we can return everything back to normal.
Slicor Koopa- GWAHAHAHAHA! You really are just as simple minded as Marco. I actually like it here. And I don't care if I take of the Mushroom Kingdom in this time or my own. And I have twice as many minions to make the Mushroom Kingdom mine!
Bowser- Don't you mean our?
Slicor Koopa- Yeah, sure, whatever…
Marco- I don't think you get the full concept of this little situation here. If we all continue to remain in this distant future that we're not supposed to be in…it could cause real nasty damage to the time line! Like a temporal paradox!
Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- NAHAHAHAHAHA!
Kamek- You think we're unaware of that risk?
Kaster- We're not that stupid to risk causing something like that!
Slicor Koopa- Typical of you to think you have all the answers, Marco. You've been acting like you think you're the big shot ever since you and your friends bested Tabuu on Shooting Star Summit that day. Sure, you beat Tabuu and ruined the Immortal Wedding Ritual when you crashed my wedding, but you don't have your team to back you up this time, Marco! In fact, they appear to still be in the past unable to assist you at all!
Bowser- And you don't have your team to back you up either, Mario!
Slicor Koopa- Wait! Are you saying there's still a team in this time period?
Bowser- Mostly for dealing with Tabuu, but yes. Mario and Luigi lead a team of their own like their ancestor did in your time. But we'll deal with them after we've gotten rid of the Mario's! Kamek!
Slicor Koopa- Kaster!
Bowser and Slicor (at the same time)- Deal with them!
Bowser and Slicor left the room to leave Kamek and Kaster to fight the Mario Brothers.
Kamek- Ok, you heard the boss!
Kaster- Time to dispose of these four Mario Brothers once and for all!
Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- NAHAHAHAHAHA!
Marco- Now that I think of it…I'm beginning to wonder if Kamek and Kaster are related like how Loewy and I are related to Mario and Luigi.
Starlow- They both have the same kind of laugh and use the same magic spells.
Kamek- You dare compare me to this amateur of Koopa magic?!
Kaster- Amateur?! I happen to be the greatest Magikoopa in Slicor's rankings and my magic is at least ten times that of yours!
Then Kamek and Kaster pressed their faces against one another and glared sparks at one another. While they were busy growling at each other, Luigi and Loewy almost landed a jump attack on them. Kamek and Kaster narrowly dodged it as they both flew up higher on their brooms.
Kamek- Shit! Marco just distracted us and we almost fell for it!
Kaster- Dirty trick there, Marco!
Kamek- We can settle who's the real master of magic after we destroy the Mario Brothers. Because Master Bowser and Slicor will have our heads if we screw up.
Kaster- Very well. Time for some dirty tricks of our own!
Then Kamek and Kaster pointed their wands at the other's and created a magic beam string link connecting their wands. But then Kamek and Kaster began moving around the Mario Brothers with the beam of magic remaining between them. Almost like a line of rope. In fact, this started to become a game of jump rope with the Mario Brothers with them jumping over the magic beam as Kamek and Kaster kept dashing around them. Eventually, the magic beam faded. Marco pulled out two fire flowers and tossed one to Loewy.
Marco- Loewy!
Loewy caught the fire flower and they both transformed into Fire Marco and Fire Loewy. They were about to shoot a combined fireball at them, but Kamek and Kaster made a big grin as soon they used the fire flowers.
Kamek- About time they used one of their powerups!
Kaster- Boy, is Marco in for a big surprise!
Then Kamek and Kaster crossed their wands and sort of created an energy field around the entire room. Suddenly, Fire Marco and Fire Loewy changed back to their normal forms.
Loewy- Huh…?!
Marco- Our fire power…what just happened?
Kaster- NAHAHAHAHAHA! Did you think you were the only ones who could combine your powers like that?
Kamek- Well, when Kaster and I combine our magic, we can create this energy field that will instantly neutralize and powerup items you Mario turds try and use!
Kaster- Not so tough now, are you…
Then Kaster was cut off when Marco swung his sword and almost slashed Kaster in the face.
Kaster- ****! Almost forgot about Marco's sword! That sword of his is almost as dangerous at those super powers Kyrin gave to them!
Luigi- This is going to be rough without the use of our powerup items.
Mario- Well we aren't one tracked ponies.
Marco- We can still fight regardless.
Kamek began building up energy in his wand for one powered up magic attack. Luigi and Loewy began building momentum for a triple high jump to reach Kamek, but Kaster tried to shoot regular magic shots at them. Luckily, Mario and Marco landed a jump attack on Kaster and knocked him off his broom.
Mario- Luigi!
Marco- Loewy!
Then Mario and Marco held their hand over their heads for Luigi and Loewy to jump off of to give them an extra jump boost to reach Kamek. And with that little boost, Luigi and Loewy landed a jump attack on Kamek and also knocked him off his broom. To make matters worse for them, Kamek also dropped the spell he was charging and it fell and exploded in Kamek and Kaster's face. When the smoke cleared, Kamek and Kaster were burning red with angry.
Kamek- That ****ing does it! I'm through messing around!
Kaster- So am I! You annoy me bad enough when there's just two of you! But I hate it twice as much now that there's four of you!
Then Kamek and Kaster crossed their wands again and created a large impulse shockwave that knocked Mario, Luigi, Marco, and Loewy to the ground. Also, it made Marco drop his sword and drop to the floor. Marco and Loewy tried to reach for it, but Marco and Loewy's hands and feet literally began to sink into the floor like it was made of playdough and they couldn't get unstuck.
Kaster- You didn't think we'd make it that easy for you, Marco!
Kamek- Kaster, let's finish them off while we still have this chance!
Kaster- Agreed! So long, Marco and Loewy Mario!
Then Kamek and Kaster combined their magic again to create one huge ball of magic before launching it at Marco and Loewy. But with quick thinking, Mario managed to get back up, grab Marco's sword, and use the sword to swat the magic attack back at Kamek and Kaster.
Kamek and Kaster (at the same time)- Oh ****!
The magic attack exploded in their faces and knocked them to the ground.
Kamek- Ugh…we had a good run…you and me…I mean, maybe good isn't the right word, but it wasn't always bad…
Kaster- Yes, I agree. We're not a terrible team. Some of the plots we hatched were pretty fun.
Kamek- You were like a brother to me…a hideous ugly brother…
Kaster- Why do you keep saying that?! We're practically identical!
Kamek- Do they not have mirrors 1,000 years ago?!
Kaster- You're the one who needs to look in a mirror!
Then Mario and Marco punched both Magikoopas on the head and knocked them out.
Loewy- That arguing was starting to get annoying.
Luigi- Let's hope Bowser and Slicor don't argue as bad when we finally get to them.
Mario- Oh, before I forget, here's your sword back, Marco.
Mario handed Marco his sword back to him.
Marco- Thanks, Mario.
Marco took his sword back and put it back in the sheath strapped on his left hip.
Starlow- How did you know you could knock Kamek and Kaster's attack back at them with Marco's fancy sword?
Mario- I saw him send Ludwig's spell back at him by swinging it. I figured I could do the same with it.
Marco- Impressive. You know how to use my father's sword just as well as I do.
Starlow- No time for talk! We still have two Koopa Kings to topple and a book to reclaim.
