Author's note:

Hi, glad to see you again. I'm trying to make this story more darker than it could (don't worry it's not gonna rated M), you might have also noticed that my username and The Quiet Kid's name are also the same. Just to let you know that "Houser" is my English name if I ever became an American or Britain.

Anyways, back to the story!

Chapter 2

A New Friend

After the shadow vanished, at that moment, Houser never felt his heart beat as hard as before. This gave him quite a shock, and sleepy as well. Of course! Houser haven't slept a single bit through to entire night. That's why there's always 2 slight dark circles under his eyes. But now, he can finally sleep his way till 7:00 AM.

7:00 AM

Houser wakes up without the need of alarm, he got used to it, after all, this happened every single day. Then Houser went to the bathroom to take shower and brush his teeth. Just right after he opened the bathroom door, a smell of hungriness flies into his nose. It's the smell of eggs and bacon! Houser loves the homely and simple breakfast he gets from his aunt. The person who loved him like his mother, even he didn't get to see her.

"Did you enjoyed your breakfast?" His aunt asked, smiling.

"It's great... I want to have this meal everyday, just by you and only you." Houser said it in a very calmly way. This surprised the aunt, she always wanted a child to raise, when talking to Houser, she felt like talking to her own son.

"Well then, I'll make this everyday for you, under one condition." Houser looked up too see his aunt, eyes questioning.

"You be well and be a good student for me. Alright?"

"Ok." Houser smile, calmly said again.

*Ding dong*

Someone's at the door, Houser goes to the front door and opens it. It was Jeremy, his best friend as usual.

"Hey Houser! Today I'm gonna have a baseball match with the team with the other school, you wanna go watch?". Jeremy said excitedly, he always an active boy, he likes sports a lot, but not as smart as Houser. It's like the two is opposite to each other.

"Oh...okay." Houser replied, since it's summer and he doesn't have anything to do, better to go out and get fresh air.

"Take this lunch box with you then.", his aunt said back in the kitchen.

"Ok!" Houser shouted back.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the field, there are students Houser recognized, it's the students from his school, high graders. On the other side, a group of another students from another school, they are very enthusiastic and giving out cry battle as they are ready for the match.

"Wow, the kids from the other school sure is energetic." Houser said.

"Yeah, tuff guy, ya know." Jeremy replied.

As Jeremy gets himself ready, Houser encouraged him, "Hope you guys will win." Jeremy looked at Houser with a determined eyes, "Don't worry,I'll kick their ass out!"

And thus, Jeremy goes into the battle field. For Houser, he doesn't like the crowd, so he chooses a bench away from the spectators. And just when he started to sit down, the match was started. The cheerleaders are giving out their best encouragement as well as the player. Houser doesn't like sports much, so he ended up reading a book. He accepted Jeremy's invitation because he's his only friend, he doesn't want to make him upset.

After a while, Houser goes to the public bathroom nearby, forgot to bring his book with him. Only to come back seeing another boy reading his book.

Oh my god, someone is reading my book, they didn't know who it's belong to! How do I get back the book from him!? He walked to the boy reading his book while thinking. Houser rarely talk to anyone beside Jeremy, this made him a social awkward, really awkward. As he comes close, the boy looked up, he sees Houser standing there with a nervous expression.

"Uh...could you... give me the book... back? It's mine..." Houser tried to speak, he almost missed the word.

"Oh...sorry, I saw it lied on the bench, sorry for reading it without your permission. Here.", the boy gently gives the book back to Houser.

"Say, what are you doing here?" the boy asked again.

"Oh...uh, I was watching m-my friend playing baseball,...b-but I find it bored so I read the book...", his words became more and more abrupted.

"You don't like sports? I heard that sports help you get stronger, with muscles. Well, to be honest, I don't really interested in sports either. Guess we have the same "hobby". This makes Houser gives out a small chuckle, wow, he rarely does this, like rarely! Only when talking to his friend of course.

"Yeah, what are you doing here anyways?", Houser's words become more straightforward now, as he feels like talking to a friend, his new friend.

"Oh, I just got bored at home, so I went out for a walk, and spotted this baseball match so I stayed to spectate it." Before Houser can say anything, the cheerleaders becomes louder, as a team is getting close to winning. No doubt, it's his school team has won the match. The two boys can hear cheering from the team and the spectators, it was filled with joy, happy, excitement, hope,... but still, the depression is still there. Houser tried hard to get a smile a him, as he's celebrating his friend's victory.

"Hey look, our school have won.", the boy said.

"You're from the same school as me?", Houser was surprised a little, as his new friend is also the same school as his.

"Oh, I didn't know that. Shocking." A while later, the boys waited Jeremy to come outside, he was sweating, alot, but there's a face of victorious, giving out his best smile as he could.

"We won! You see? I've kicked their ass out!", Jeremy said with confident. Houser doesn't seem to care at his friend saying bad words at all, he respects the way his friend said.

"And who's this? Your new friend?", Jeremy pointed to the boy with his baseball bat, while breathing out heavily.

"Who me? Yeah, I guess so. Houser and I are from the same school after all."

"Well, what's your name then? Houser is very shy when asking people's names." He said it as revealing Houser's tiny "secret" as well as giving a small chuckle.

"Oh, really? Heh." The boy said as he looking at Houser, who is embarrassing. "My name is Jack, nice to meet you."

"C-can we meet again?", Houser asked.

"Sure, how about your house then?". Jack replied.

"C-cool!", Houser said excitedly.

Then the boys went home.

Jeremy and Houser walking with their bicycles next to them, one with a baseball bat and a uniform in the basket. The sunset was quite clear, but hot, making them sweating.

"Congratulations on your new friend.", Jeremy said happily.

"O-oh... thanks.", Houser jumped, as he was thinking about his new friend. But the more he thinks about Jack, the more it feels... familiar. Houser waved Jeremy and went home, ready for the night, again.

"Tonight will be an interesting night."

Woo! Well that was something, I think this chapter is a little longer than the first chapter. Who's Jack anyways, just his schoolmate? And why did Houser felt something familiar with him? Maybe next chapter?
