A smile covered Elsa's face as she carefully touched her new born nephew's hand. The baby rested in his crib as she leaned forward to see him. The prince of Arendelle was barely 2 weeks old, but right from the beginning it felt like this baby had turned her life upside down.

This baby was one of those things that are unexpected. Yes, it was to be expected that Anna, as the queen of Arendelle, eventually would have children. But the thought never really crossed Elsa's mind. It was a big surprise when Anna told her she was expecting. And she found herself not being able to think of anything other than her future nephew and the joy on her sister's face when she announced she was having a child.

Elsa rubbed the baby's check carefully, trying to make her hand as warm as possible to not disturb the baby's peaceful sleep.

Seeing him like this made Elsa's stomach turn. It was still weird for her to think about him as her nephew. This was her sister's baby, an unexpected surprise she was happy to receive. This was her nephew, and he represented the biggest life change she ever experienced.

This little baby was the reason she was considering moving back to the castle. This baby was the future of Arendelle. A kid that would hopefully grow to be a man who would some day rule the kingdom as bravely as his parents did.

The thought alone scared Elsa. He was so small, so fragile, but was already expected to do a lot. It almost felt unfair. All she wanted was to protect him.

She took her hand off the baby's check and placed both hands on the side of the crib.

Upon meeting her nephew for the first time a week ago, Elsa felt a lot of things that she never felt before. The same mixture of emotions she felt when she started to know Honneymaren, but multiplied by ten. She felt love, excitement, nervousness but most of all, she felt fear.

She was scared. Scared to use magic around him. Scared to hurt him like she hurt Anna so many times. She didn't want to hold him, she was scared of dropping him… but at the same time she did want to hold him, because she didn't want to shut him out like she did with Anna.

It was all so… complicated.

The thoughts ran through her head, she felt… nervous. Scared. Her hands started to frost the side of the crib and she instinctively jerked them away.

The little baby let out a noise of discomfort and Elsa freaked out. She managed to wake him up. She took a second to calm herself and regain composure. She melted the frost from the side of the crib and leaned to look back at her nephew

"Calm down honey, Anna will be here in a moment" she commented. Her sister was currently bathing and changing in the other room and as a good aunt, she offered to look after the baby for a few minutes.

but despite her efforts the baby's face twisted in discomfort and he started to cry, Elsa didn't know what to do, she didn't want to pick him up… not while she was alone. She didn't want to hurt him.

"Hey, it's ok, don't cry, aunt Elsa is here" she said softly, waving a toy in front of the baby's face. Her nephew started to calm down for a second

"Ah you see, I always be here for you my love" she whispered softly. But then she accidentally dropped the toy by the baby's side, making him cry even louder.

Once again she started freaking out

"Ught, Anna, your baby is crying I don't know what to do" she shouted, somehow feeling a bit guilty, she knew that her sister was tired and needed some time for herself. But she didn't knew what to do...

"I'm coming" Anna yelled from the other room. Elsa reached for the baby's hand once again and said

"Don't cry, your mommy is coming" a smile appeared in her lips as a fuzzy feeling filled her body. It was so weird to think that her little sister, the goofy girl who always wanted to build snowmans, the warrior who fearlessly lured the giants to break the dam… was now a mother.

Not only that, Anna was the mother of the cutest baby she'd ever seen. Honestly.

"awn, what's up honey" said Anna, walking to the crib to pick up the baby. Anna's hair was still wet and she was wearing a button up nightgown. Elsa watched in disbelief as the little baby stopped crying once Anna started rubbing circles around his back.

"Im impressed, how can you calm him so easily?" she asked playfully, Anna smiled sweetly

"I honestly don't know, I've only been a mother for two weeks, so I guess it is instinct? Or maybe luck… yeah… it's most likely luck, to be very honest with you Elsa, I don't know what i'm doing" she commented. Elsa chuckled softly. Of course Anna knew what she was doing, it was obius to Elsa, she was already a great mom.

Anna continued to rock her son in her arms, the baby was not crying but was still fussy

"awn what's the matter, love? Are you hungry?" she said sweetly, walking to the rocking chair on the corner of the baby's room.

"You don't mind if I feed him, right?" Anna asked as she sat down

"Umn, no, go ahead" she responded, somehow expecting her sister to take a baby bottle to feed the child, but her cheeks turned bright red when he saw Anna unbuttoning the top of her nightgown. She turned to look at the window, giving her sister some space to accommodate the baby. Anna laughed at her sister's reaction

"Elsa, you can look, it's fine" she said softly. Elsa smiled as she saw her little sister looking down at her child and touching the baby's cheek, softly singing the lullaby their mom used to sing to them. This was a side of Anna that she knew well, the one that cared for her love ones, the one that was soft and loving, the one that reminded her of their mother.

She sat on a chair on the opposite side of the room and admired the scene. Anna was no longer the annoying girl that always goofed around; she was a woman. She was the queen of Arendelle and in her four years of ruling she had already done way more than Elsa ever did. The fifth spirit looked out the window and admired the view

"The kingdom is now almost twice the size it was when I left it, isn't it?" She asked. Anna lifted her head from the baby to look at her sister

"Yeah, economy has busted up since we started supporting the exportations, Kristoff is helping me work things out for us to build another exportation port, Arendelle is know the first provider of textiles for the kingdom of Corona, we have to be assertive in our decisions of we want to keep it that way" The young queen finished, adjusting her baby to nurse him in a more comfortable position.

"You're amazing Anna, I was queen for four years and I did nothing, I only freezed the place and then lured a curse to the have been queen for the same amount of time as I was, and look at all the prosperity you brought to Arendelle" Elsa said, genuinely feeling proud of her sister. Anna's cheeks turned pink

"You were a great queen Elsa, don't underestimate yourself" Elsa laugued slyly

"Of course I wasn't a great queen, and you know that.I was too insecure… You, on the other hand, have been queen for four years, and you managed to solve all the trouble I left you with, you busted up the economy, population, medical services, exportations… you even had a heir… truly Anna, maybe you were meant to be queen"

Anna felt a bit bad for Elsa, yes, maybe she had done all of those things, but Anna always felt like she was no were near as amazing as her sister

"Well yeah, maybe I did all that, but It was not easy. Thankfully I'm not alone, I had the help of my lovely king consort, remember?" Elsa smiled at the mention of Kristoff, trully, the proof that true love does exist

"And…" Anna continued

"You have Ice magic! and you are the fifth spirit… nothing I can do can beat that" Elsa laughed at her sisters enthusiastic ways.

"I guess we're even," she commented.

The sisters stayed in silence for a minute and Elsa continued to watch her sister's motherly ways. Anna was so sweet with her baby, carefully rubbing his hair as she breastfeed him.

Elsa left out a sight. Having a baby, breastfeeding, caring for a child, those were things that Elsa just couldn't see herself doing. But she was still curious about it...

"Does it hurt?" Elsa Asked curiously, Anna looked at her puzzled

"What?"

"Um… that" she couldn't get herself to say it, Anna looked down at her breast and laughed softly

"A little… it's hurting a lot less now. When I did it for the first time I really wasnt constable, thankfully I had Grenda's help… having a baby is a lot harder than they put it in book's" Elsa nooded

"You look tired" she commented, Anna snorted

"I am tired… but it's worth it" The baby finished nursing. Anna buttoned her nightgown with one hand, then she stood up and walked to Elsa, showing her the baby

"Just look at this little man, as handsome as his father… it's all definitely more than worth it"

Elsa admired her nephew and sudden urge reached her body

"Can I hold him?" She asked, her words came out without thinking. Anna's face lit up and she nodded in excitement carefully placing the prince in Elsa's hands.

The baby felt warm against her cold body and she found herself staring at him once again. He had red hair like Anna, his eyes were the same shade of blue as his mother's, but his eyebrows, nose and lips were very much like Kristoff's. The baby was the perfect combination of both of his parents.

"Awns look how cute, we should take a photo of both of you together!" Anna said happily.

Elsa laugued, still looking down at the baby. His eyes were wide open and he looked back into his aunt's face. At that moment Elsa knew, she was excited for the future.
