JustSomeoneElse: Aw, thank you so much! I'm glad that you liked it! And, ahaha, yes, Hibari is much too old for Nami Chuu but his loyalty never wavers. Haru x Enma really is rare, so let's hope I gave this pairing some justice with this drabble! (*´ο`*)

Enma blushes beneath the blatant stares of strangers as the crowd of people part for them as if they were Moses or something like that. He would do anything and give anything to run out of the mall and back home hiding underneath the sheets until his shame wore down but the only thing that kept him from doing so was her hand in his. He could also run out of the mall with her but considering that she was the reason why people were staring at him, he couldn't do that. Not to her. He instead, looks down in shame and wishes that he could have her obliviousness.
It's summertime in Namimori and that means people wearing flip flops and shorts and short shirts. It's not uncommon to find someone wearing clothes of lighter material or something that showed off some skin here and there. Even in the hot weather, some people who were, perhaps, shy, would wear jeans or a long-sleeved shirt to hide the parts of their body that they're not proud of showing. Even then, that was nothing compared to what Enma is dealing with.
Haru, Enma's girlfriend and quite frankly, the love of his life, decided that today would be the perfect day to work on her cosplay. While he personally finds it a bit odd, he doesn't tell her so; cosplaying makes her happy and who was he to deny her anything that makes her happy? Which explains why he is in the mall, walking hand and hand with the Namahage even though it is in the middle of June and not New Year's.
"Enma-kun?" Haru's voice sounds rather muffled due to the mask over her face. She turns back to face him, noticing that Enma has stopped walking and they are now standing in the middle of the mall's pathway. "Is something wrong?"
"Uh...ah...H-Haru...d-don't you feel h-hot or anything under there? It's like eighty d-degrees outside. You should take it off." He whispers the last part, half-hoping that she would hear him so that the stares would go away and half-hoping that she didn't hear him so that he won't get scolded at.
"Hahi! 'Take it off'! Enma-kun, what is going on?" The red-haired male winces at the accusing tone and against his better judgement, he decides to answer her.
"People are staring at us...and not in the good way. I-I don't want them to bully you, Haru." Enma finally gets out, closing both of his eyes as if expecting a painful punch. Which probably will happen soon and perhaps an argument will follow soon after and oh my God what if there's a break-up-
"Enma-kun." He feels her actual, soft hands holding onto his and he looks up to see that she has taken off the mask and the gloves. There is a gentle smile on his face and even though she has yet to say anything, he feels a flood of relief wash over him. "Enma-kun, Haru knows that people are staring at Haru. Just because Haru has on the mask doesn't mean that Haru can't see. Even then, so what? They don't know who Haru or Enma-kun is and that's none of their business to tell us what to do. If Haru wants to wear a Namahage costume in June, then so be it. It's Haru's life, not theirs."
"A-Aren't you embarrassed though?" While he was moved by her small speech, he couldn't help but have some doubts if Haru truly believed her own words.
The brunette shrugs. "Not really. They'll just talk either way and Haru will just keep walking."
The red-haired male lets out a smile, the first one since they had arrived at the mall. "Let's go shopping, Haru. I think I saw a cool cosplay store a few more stores from here." He helps her put back on her gloves and mask before the couple walks hand in hand to said store. They get several stares and hushed talk as they pass by other shoppers but they both held their head high, not letting others' opinions get in the way of their own.
Haru and Enma return back to the same mall two weeks later. This time, they are both wearing matching Zelda and Link costumes, respectfully. They get stares and lots of whispers as they pass by but Enma doesn't mind. Especially not if Haru's by his side.
