JustSomeoneElse: I know, right?! Enma is such a shy cutie and our Haru exudes confidence! *sighs* If only they had interactions in the manga. (*゚∀゚*)
Song 3: Why - Haru x Tsuna
...
"If I leave now, good, good, good, yeah
Everything I'll meet, great, great, yeah
My lightened heart, work, work, baby
It already glimmers in front of my eyes
But I hesitate, why..."
- Taeyeon; Why
...
Dear Tsuna-san,
Haru is writing you this letter as a way to give Haru some closure. You aren't obligated to write back.
Haru is going to America for university. Haru is aware that Haru told you and everybody else that Haru is going to the University of Tokyo but Haru has her reasons that Tsuna-san will find out soon enough.
Haru has spent 4 years pining after Tsuna-san. During those 4 years, Haru knew that Tsuna-san likes Kyoko-chan and Haru understands why. Kyoko-chan is everything that Haru isn't; calm, mild mannered, smart, and beautiful. Even though Haru knew that Haru could never fill up the space in Tsuna-san's heart the way Kyoko-chan does, Haru couldn't let go because every single time Haru would try to move on, you would somehow find a way to draw Haru back in. Because of that, Haru is going to America for university.
For 4 years now, whatever Tsuna-san had asked of Haru, Haru would do it. No matter how dangerous or ridiculous it might have been, Haru would risk Haru's life for Tsuna-san. That's how much Haru trusts you, Tsuna-san, even if you didn't see Haru in any romantic way. Haru has lived 4 years of Haru's life with the purpose of doing whatever it is you needed Haru to do. And even though those years were the best years of Haru's life, Haru wants to live Haru's life for Haru and for nobody else.
Haru knows that Tsuna-san is going to be very upset and angry about the fact that Haru is moving to a completely different country that neither one of us knows a lot about. Haru has a feeling that you may question why Haru chose to go to another country to start anew when Haru could just live life the way Haru wants to right here in Namimori or in Japan. Tsuna-san, you may not realize it, but you have a very powerful effect on Haru. Haru knows that if Haru were to tell you about Haru's wishes of moving to America for university, you would have asked Haru to stay. You would have persuaded Haru to reconsider Haru's choices, that if Haru just wanted to have the college experience, Haru could just dorm or go to another school that was still in Japan and not in some other country. And Haru just knows that had that situation did happen, no matter how strong Haru's resolve was, Haru would crumble and agree to stay.
Haru wants to thank you for everything you have done for Haru, Tsuna-san. You have taught Haru what it means to be brave in situations that terrify you to save your loved ones. You have taught Haru what it means to be kind to everyone, even the ones who have done you wrong. You have taught Haru that it doesn't matter how physically strong you are, the size of your heart will always prevail. You have taught Haru valuable life lessons that Haru will never forget, not now and certainly not in America.
Haru hopes that you will do well these next four years. Thank you again for an incredible 4 years! Now it's Haru's turn to start a new chapter of Haru's life!
Love,
Miura Haru

"Don't cry, Otō-san, Kaa-san. Haru's going to be fine. Haru will call and text everyday. Promise!" Haru fakes a smile, trying hard to not cry, which is much easier said than done as both her mother and father are crying so hard and hearing them cry makes her want to cry.
"I...I know you'll-you'll be fine, Haru. It's just...it's just hard to see you-you go." Her father manages to make out in-between his hiccuping cries. The only time Haru remembers her father crying was during her paternal grandmother's funeral and the fact that he is crying right now just shows her how important and distraught he is over her moving to another country.
"My...my ba-baby." Her mother sobs out, hugging the brunette girl tight. Said female closed her eyes and hugs her mother back tight as well. She doesn't really want to leave her family, not like this. But she wants to start a new life, a new life where she will put herself first, not her past life where she prioritizes a boy before her own self.
"Hahi! Kaa-chan, Otō-san, Haru's going to miss her plane!" Haru composes herself, faking a slightly irritated tone to show that she is fine. After another round of tight hugs and kisses on the cheeks, the brunette woman waves good-bye to her parents as she heads to the boarding gate. As she stands in line, she looks out at the large glass windows, the fact that she really is going to be leaving her hometown for another country that she hardly knows sinking in. As the line inches forward, she foolishly wonders if Tsuna would burst through into the airport terminal and into the boarding gate to stop her from leaving. Haru lets out a sad scoff as she shakes the idea from her head. No, he cannot do that. She had mailed the letter to him today, a few mere minutes before she went to the airport. He cannot possibly get her letter in time to stop her.
It is almost her turn and Haru gets her plane ticket ready. She looks forward at the boarding stairs and she finds herself feeling so nervous, more nervous than she had been this morning. She knows that attending university in America would be an adventure, amazing and frightening all on its' own but yet, she is still so hesitating. But why? The image of a smiling Tsuna passes her mind and Haru sighs sadly, mentally scolding herself for still thinking about him just as she is going to start anew.
It is now finally her turn and she gives the flight attendant her ticket and passport. After double-checking everything, the flight attendant hands them back to her and ushers Haru towards the boarding stairs. A slight summer breeze blows by, gently caressing her cheek and Haru smiles as she boards the stairs.
It is the end of the summer of her eighteenth year and it is then that Haru decides to live her life without Tsuna in it.
End of Song 3.
(6/29/20): GASP! The first melancholy song of the series! While this song is considered to be a fun, summer bop - by the way, I do not own the song; it belongs to Taeyeon and SM Entertainment so don't you dare sue me - I find the song a bit...remorseful in a way. Even though the song is described as refreshing, I just feel that while you are ready to start a new life, you are still hesitant to leave the old one behind. I don't know, it's just my interpretation of the song! Anywho, I wanted to write a Haru x Tsuna drabble where Haru is making steps to live a life that doesn't revolve around Tsuna. As you can probably tell by the last sentence of the drabble, Haru leaves for America near the end of the summer where she will start a whole new life. I apologize that it isn't very ... cute or heartwarming as the other drabbles. But the main thing that I'd like to be taken away from this drabble is to live your life your way and not have it be revolved around a crush. Anyways, there aren't a lot of good English covers for this song, although I did find one on Spotify by Shibuya Sunrise. The lyrics are again taken from colorcodedlyrics and it is an English translation from the original Korean song, so I apologize if anything got lost in translation. As always, please let me know what you thought of this chapter and I will see you in two more weeks for a Haru x Yamamoto pairing! Bye~! o( ̄ー ̄)○
