"Kacchan! Stop picking on Izuku!" The small pink haired girl yelled with all her might. She turned towards the smaller of the boys who was sitting on the ground trying to furiously wipe away the tears that were spilling down his face.
"Kanna, you're just a stupid girl. Stop trying to stick up for stupid Deku," a blonde boy muttered just loud enough for the other children to hear. The girl held out a hand for the small, green haired boy to grab. Pulling him up she began to dust off his black shorts that were covered in sand.
"Th-thank you Kanna," Izuku whispered to Kanna. She offered him a smile before she grabbed his hand and began to walk away from Kacchan, starting towards home.
"Breathe in, breathe out. The date is April 1st. It's been… 1003 days since I've been in here," she whispered to herself before furrowing her eyebrows, "1003? Or 1002?" She tapped her temple staring up at the dingy and dark stone ceiling like she did for the past almost three years. She laid on the simple straw cot that her captors had thrown on the floor for her. The room was small and not well lit. The only thing that illuminated the room was a small single lightbulb that hung just out of her reach from the same ceiling she was peering into. In the corner was a toilet with a small sink attached. That's all she had been given. That's all she had known in the last few years of her life.
A loud boom from the floor upstairs pulled her from her thoughts. The sudden commotion dislodging dust from between the rocks above her, making it rain down upon her head. The villain organization that kidnapped her and her family weren't the most subtle people but this boom wasn't normal. Kanna stood up and moved towards the door, it had a small cutout in the middle where they normally shoved a tray of badly made food for her. She looked out into the dark hallway and peered into the darkness. She became extremely aware of a man standing on the other side, inches from her, staring back at her. Startled, she fell back before the door unlocked and sung open.
"We've got another kid here!" He yelled out. He was tall with long black hair, a dingy looking scarf around his neck and a gold pair of goggles propped on his forehead. He crouched down and slowly approached her. "What's your name?"
"Sh-Shiro Kanna," stumbled from her lips. It had been so long since she had spoken to another human being. "M-my brother and my parents are here too. I think…" She began to feel the tears pouring down her face now. Was he even still alive? What about her parents? Why hadn't someone come looking for them before? The tall man swooped in and proceeded to pick her up, carrying her out of the room she had called home. As they made their way into the hallway, it was almost as if everything was moving in slow motion. Hundreds of people bustling around them, moving in a controlled chaos, stopping to stare at her. Kanna suddenly became super self conscious. She hid her face in her rescuers chest, the tears wetting his shirt.
"You're safe now. I promise," He whispered into her ear. Up the four flights of stairs and into the main house that she had been dragged through so many years ago. The light coming in from the windows showed through her closed eyelids and stung her eyes. She felt herself being lowered onto something soft. Trying to peel her eyelids open the sun was so bright.
"She was down in the dungeons. I didn't see any injuries but her arms are all bruised up. I presume from where they were drawing her blood," she recognized the taller man's voice, it seemed so distant. Her eyes shot open and she saw he was walking away from her. She jumped up and clung to his shirt, shaking like a leaf.
"Eraser, stay here with her while I heal check her over please," an older woman's soft voice commanded. The man turned around, gently holding the girls upper arms, steering her back over to what Kanna now identified as a couch. She sat down, taking in her surroundings now that her eyes had slightly adjusted to the lighting. The house was full of heroes and cops moving around. Some with boxes filled with papers, others with what she presumed were other captured people. No one she recognized…
Kanna sat in the hospital bed. The old medic hadn't found anything severely wrong with her but knew immediately that she was malnourished and should be in the hospital for a couple days at least. It was about 1 a.m. and the hospital was dead silent except for the occasional opening of the door as a nurse did her rounds. The t.v. that bolted to the wall played softly. It was a newscast about what had happened that day.
The heroes had come into information about the villain organization that captured her. Found where their main hub was and found out that there would be a meeting between all the higher up's of the organization that day. Storming in, they apprehended every villain and started to search the compound. Thankfully one of the heroes found a secret door that led down four flights of stairs, coming to find prisoners. 33 in total, Shiro Kanna being one of them. Scrolling across the screen were the names of the people they had kidnapped and kept hostage. The ones marked in yellow were found alive and were being treated for their injuries. Most of the names that scrolled past were in white, meaning they were found dead.
Up next were the S names. Kanna watched in anticipation to see if her family was on the list. Shiro Akari and Shiro Haru scrolled past in white. "Mom… Dad…" She felt a tightness in her chest and her vision began to blur from tears. Shiro Kai scrolled past in yellow. "Kai!" She yelled out as the door opened suddenly scaring her a bit. A nurse walked in silently with a clipboard in her hand.
"Miss Shiro, you really should be getting some rest. You had a traumatic day," the female said softly.
"M-my brother, Shiro Kai. Is he here? In this hospital?" Kanna blurted out. The female nurse nodded slowly and she adjusted the I.V. bag that hung next to the bed.
"He is and he's in stable condition but he's going to need some time to recover Miss Shiro," The woman looked back at the teenager, "Your brother has some pretty intense injuries to his body but he'll be just fine. Give it time and the doctor will let you know when you can see him, okay?"
Kanna nodded. The tears falling from her eyes once again. She settled back into the hospital bed and tried to catch up on some much needed sleep.
Katsuki sat in his normal school seat staring out the window, waiting for class to start. Something was pulling at his mind today and he couldn't figure out what it was.
"Ka-Kacchan," he heard a breathy whisper from in front of him. He looked up and saw the annoying green haired boy that made the hair on the back of his neck bristle with rage.
"The fuck you want stupid Deku?" he muttered trying not to bring too much attention that this moron was talking to him.
"They found her. They found Kanna…"
A/N: The title is still a work in progress. It might change, it might not. Enjoy and I'll probably post the second chapter later today because I need to get this story out of my head before it ends.
