Miss Queen B: Hey there wonderful readers. I'll keep this short and head striaght to the notes:
Note One: Thank you, thank you and thank you so much for the reviews and letting this story cross the 500th review line. At this rate it might surpass my other story "Let It Burn" as the second most reviewed story after "Deep Blue Sea." Wow and I do love all of them by the way. I'm glad everyone is loving this story so far.
Note Two: I don't know why, but when I'm typing these chapters I have to urge to listen to a lot of Lifehouse's songs for some reason hence why I used another one in this chapter as well. It's all cool, I used to listen to that band a lot during highschool (so many years ago, ok I'm not that old. Class of 2006, whoo)
Note Three: So about this chapter: Behemoth has a friendly chat with Methuselah about recent events. Scylla invites Mosura on a lunch date which turns into a complete disaster. There's a time jump with Scylla slowly getting the hang with this whole relationship thing, but that's put on hold when she is summon to meet the newborn Prince for the first time. Only to have Mosura request a favor Scylla really don't want to do. Enjoy.
Gentle Waves
Part IV
~You said you loved the ocean,
It's funny because you are
Just like the ocean.
You came crashing into my life
Like a tidal wave, and yet
I still think you're beautiful.~
~by Unknown
(Meanwhile..)
Methuselah, I remember a time when things were a lot easier. He said, while tapping his claws on the ground.
Lying out in the open fields, he turned his attention to his Rock-kaiju friend who was stretching out his neck by rolling it slowly. Care to elaborate on that, my hearing is still ringing from yesterday. He snapped his neck sharply to the left and sigh in relief. Much better, I must say the King knows how to use the headlock move professionally, I swear, I think he was trying to kill me.
What was your first clue? When he put you in a headlock or when he swatted you in the face with his tail?
It didn't hurt that bad. Methuselah said with a glee smile.
You bit your tongue and started throwing up from having the wind knock out of you. He said, a little worried.
All in the name of brawling, my friend. Methuselah said, I knew he was holding back.
Granted yes, but he had his reasons. You saw what he did to the False King and the city around them and you have the audacity to heckle him.
Methuselah looked over at his back that was missing a large chuck of rock. Perhaps I went a little too far.
A little? He questioned.
Well, how I was supposed to know he was still holding a grudge against our Spit Fire, it's been years now since the False King's awakening. He needs to suck it up and just let what Rodan did go already.
Behemoth looked away and scratched the top of his head gently from Methuselah's statement. It's more complex than that you could say, my friend.
I get it, Rodan attacked the Queen, but she knew what she was getting into when she entered the battlefield. Plus in the end, she came back like always so I don't see why it's still a big deal to our King. I mean look at it this way, Rodan could've done worse…
He laughed nervously on that last part. (Could've done worse...oh my friend, if only you knew) They always say a great fighter never goes after the body or mind, they go after the heart. Rodan being blinded by the Queen's beauty and gentle soul made him go after the King's heart by trying to steal the one thing he loves the most.
Aw hell, I wish the ringing in my head would stop. I swear when his tail hit me, I lost my hearing for a good minute. And don't get me started on that blue blast he nearly shot out from his mouth.
You do know he was aiming at your head right, hence why I had to intervene to make him stop.
I would've been fine, I was planning on getting out of the way. Methuselah said.
No, you were too scared to move from what I saw.
Well Old-timer, you saw wrong, perhaps your vision is finally getting too weak from your old age.
I can see perfectly fine thank you very much.
Methuselah shrugged, Just saying with you hanging out with that younger female, you need to make sure you can keep up with her.
His friend started to laugh, but it was quickly drowned out by his cluttering thoughts. Yesterday was a weird day in his opinion. First with the King assigning (in a rather threatening way) to look after the wildfire demon and then his little adventure in the water with Scylla….
Something on your mind, Behemoth?
What makes you say that? He asked, making a twirling motion with his claw in the dirt.
Well, the fact that you came over here just to check up on me and talk…
What's wrong with that? Maybe I'm just not in the mood for a sparring session like you are…
It's not that...I'm just noticing the "Chatterbox' is rather quiet today.
~A strangled smile fell from your face
It kills me that I hurt you this way
The worst part is that I didn't even know
Now there's a million reasons for you to go
But if you can find a reason to stay..~
He sighed, Well, like I said before, I remember a time when things were a lot easier…
O..k, does this have something to do with the squid?
He wasn't lying when he felt his legs and arms buckling from being so close to the lovely Scylla in the water. He was just happy that she was letting him get close to her for once. Even letting him kiss her on her forehead before they went underwater. He was scared out of his mind from the idea of drowning again, but with her hanging on to him, he lost all train of thought in that moment. One thing he noticed when they were underwater, he could feel her relaxing til she was as light as a feather. He didn't want this moment to end even when he was running out of air. While he was trying to hold his breath as long as he could, he felt something pressing up against his small trunk. Surprised he opened his mouth only to have hers connect with his. Her tentacles tighten their grip on his tusks while two of them slither up his face and curl themselves into his fur. He felt like his heart stopped, but just as soon as it started, it ended quickly and the next thing he knew, she was gone and left him there, confused and barely breathing.
He shook his head, I'm not saying she's being difficult...I mean back then it was so easy to fall in love and have a mate for life. The courtship would be fast and easy yet romantic as well…
Methuselah shook his head, I will never understand the whole concept of lifetime mates or things in that category, hence why I never bother taking one nor want one either.
No regrets?
I have regrets like everyone else does in life, but when it comes to relationships, nope.
That's….horrible in my point of view. Sadly, I think Miss Scylla feels the same way. He said frowning.
Methuselah laughed, Let me guess she's giving you the runaround.
Well, if you want to be rude about it….maybe. I'm trying to make sure she's comfortable around me, but it seems like the closer I get the more she pulls away. One minute we are getting close and bonding and having a good time, I can sense her trusting me when it comes to things she needed to talk about….then out of nowhere she kisses me only to run off afterwards…
He got another pitiful chuckle out of his rock-kaiju friend. Behemoth how can you be so smart yet dumb at the same time. I hate to say it, but you need to stop looking at this the old-fashion way. Times have changed and the female you're trying to court has changed as well.
First of all, I haven't courted her yet, I have to ask her. Second, what in the world are you talking about?
Well think about it. She's not a sloth-kaiju like you are, that right means you have to approach her differently. She's a breeder and I know a thing or two about those types of kaijus. I had friends back then that were breeders as well and they told me there is no such thing as relationships or mates, they just do the deed and leave the females to take care of their young so my friend right there is your disadvantage. Plus add in the age difference and the fact the little Spit Fire and her don't get along so well since she is the Queen's servant.
She and the Queen are best friends. He corrected him.
Same thing either way, but what I'm trying to say, it is possible you're in over your head with this particular female?
Now you're sounding like Rodan. He said, though Rodan was a little more in depth with it like how he thinks Scylla was stuck-up and had to point out the large number of partners she had in her life. That was something he didn't need to know nor care.
Maybe Rodan is looking out for you like I'm doing. If she's pulling away every time you come near her then perhaps you're wasting your time. Like I said, Breeders are not the relationship type.
I don't think I am. Maybe I just need to try harder. He said, looking down at the ground.
Methuselah shrugged, Whatever, I hope you know what you are doing. One thing I could suggest is talking to the Queen or even that other companion Rodan said she hangs out with. They might have a few pointers.
I could talk to the Queen, but she rarely visits due to bad circumstances I can't talk about. And from what I hear from Rodan, the Muto is someone you need to stay away from.
Oh come now, she can't be that bad if Scylla hangs around her all the time. Besides, have you seen her fight, that female is tough as thorns. Methuselah said, with a wicked grin.
How would you know about that?
Oh I spotted her terrorizing a city and eating humans while I was on my way to the False King's calling. "Classy" lady, when I shouted at her to save some of those humans for the rest of us, she told me to Fuck off and find another place to destory or she'll shove a building up my ass. He laughed from the memory. Funniest thing I've ever heard.
Wow, very classy indeed. Behemoth said, unimpressed. He sighed, I guess I could ask the Queen about her, she seems very open and happy to have someone like me be interested in her best friend.
Speaking of the Queen, here's your chance to say something. Methuselah said, looking up at the sky. She is on her way over here.
He looked up to see large colorful wings in the sky only to have them descend down towards them. Oh dear, he was not expecting her to show up, he thought while picking himself from the ground. He looked over at Methuselah who was still lying down. Methuselah, show some respect and stand up.
I landed on my leg wrong when the King bitch-slap me across the face. I can't stand.
Oh, sorry. I forgot about that. He laughed nervously before feeling a gust of wind followed by the Queen floating next to him. He stood up in perfect posture and smiled, My Lovely Queen, how nice it is to see you on this beautiful day. He said, bowing to her.
She giggled, It's good to see you too, Behemoth...then looked behind him. As well as you too, Methuselah. How are you feeling?
Oh, you know, about as good as anyone can be after getting a large chuck of rock torn off your body. He said with a smile.
The Queen sighed, I'm apologize, my King can be rough when it comes to sparring. That's why I'm here in case you need a healing session. She said, as she gently landed on the ground and folded her wings in. I just want to make sure he didn't do any permanent damage.
I may be badly injured, but the fact that I knock some teeth out of him I say we are even. Methuselah said, smiling like he just accomplished something great.
Yes, I saw that as well and those ugly dark bruises on his chest and sides. I'm surprised he didn't use his Atomic breath on you. The Queen said, walking over to the Rock Kaiju. Did you happen to save that large rock chunk, I can seal it back on your back if you like.
Nonsense, I wear my battle scars with pride. I'm perfectly fine, Lovely Queen. Methuselah said, feeling a bit embarrassed having the pretty moth examining him from head to tail.
Quit lying, Methuselah, you could at least let her heal your leg or that ringing sound you're hearing in your head.
Ringing sound? The Queen questioned
He nodded, Yes, our King swatted him in the face with his tail and may have caused more damage then he realize.
I'm not a hatchling, Behemoth, so knock it off. Methuselah said, only to stiffen when the Queen grabbed hold of his face. Placing her forehead against his, a small blue light started to appear between them.
Methuselah it feels like he cracked your skull a bit. Probably why you keep hearing this "ringing" sound. Now hold still. She said, pulling her head away only to place her claw on the same spot.
I would've healed eventually. Methuselah protested, but surrendered no less.
My Queen? He called, getting her attention.
What is it, Behemoth?
I just wanted to know how Miss Scylla is doing? He asked nervously.
This really hurts. Methuselah said, trying so hard not to move.
You were laughing when our King was stomping on your stomach yet getting healed hurts? Behemoth asked, bewilder.
Oh my goodness, so what exactly did you say to him to get this sort of abuse.
Now there's a funny story you see…..Methuselah looked over at him as he slowly shook his head about that topic. Hoping the rock kaiju will get the hint NOT to mention the fire demon….um….I knew he was holding back….so of course I started heckling him about it….take a note of this my lovely Queen, he hates…..fat jokes!
The Queen giggled again. Well, I could've told you that. If I had a flower for every time Scylla called him the Fat Lizard...anyway again I'm sorry for your injuries, Methus-
Are you kidding me, that was the best brawl I had since forever! The pain, the blood and check this out, I survived fighting our King...so what if I lost and nearly urinated on myself when I thought he was going to kill me. It was amazing! He said, getting up only to have his legs buckle from the pain in his left one. He slowly lay himself down on the ground again.
He sighed, He can't stand up due to his leg being broken or something in that measure.
The Queen jumped up onto the Methuselah's back to check for any more damage. Are you sure he didn't use his atomic breath, there's a lot of burn marks on here? She asked.
Oh that's just from Rodan being a dick….he tends to fight dirty, that little bastard.
Methuselah, language. He said, giving him a stern look. Now can you pick yourself up?
The rock kaiju grumbled and lifted himself up while hissing slightly to himself. He made sure he didn't put any weight on his left leg while the Queen crawled down to it for a look. She let out a small "hmmm" before placing her claw on his leg. It could be sprain, but once I'm done it would be all healed. She said then turn her attention to him. I'm sorry, Behemoth, I hope you don't think I'm ignoring you.
Not at all, but I hope she's doing alright anyway.
Of course she is, what makes you think she isn't? She asked
Well, given what happened yesterday, I feel like I scared her off.
Oh, the whole swimming thing? The Queen asked.
Swimming thing? Ha, you mean when your squid friend planted one big smooch on Behemoth before taking off. Methuselah said only to hiss from his leg healing up.
The Queen nearly fell off Methuselah from his statement and he started to blush. She what?!
Methuselah, why would you blurt that out to her? He shouted while shaking his head. How embarrassing and he was glad Scylla wasn't here to hear this.
What? I thought she knew about it, Surely Scylla mentioned it to her during their little "Girl Talk" thing. Methuselah said, while testing out his fully healed leg. He stretched it out, did a few stomps that made the ground shake then strike a pose as if he was going to attack. Not bad, not bad at all. Our King is lucky to have you around to take care of his wounds, my lovely Queen.
Oh Methuselah, when it comes down to it, I'm the lucky one. The Queen said, blushing.
I feel great. Methuselah said, doing a small jump then faced him with a smirk. Come on, Behemoth tackle me, I want to test out this newly healed leg.
Behemoth laughed nervously. Let's not. He said then turn his attention to the Queen who seems a little giddy. So did you come here alone, my Queen? He asked while thanking his lucky stars that Rodan took off to give himself an energy boost from his old volcano nest and said he will be back in a couple days.
Oh no, Scylla is on her way over here, I just flew ahead because I wanted to make sure Methuselah was OK. I know my King and he does not play nice.
She's on her way? That's great because it will give me a chance to explain myself.
About what, Behemoth? You didn't do anything wrong. The Queen smiled only to slightly frown a bit. I know Scylla is a little difficult when it comes to males-
A little is an understatement, my Lovely Queen. Methuselah said, while growling and pretending to fight an invisible foe.
But I know her and don't tell her I said this, but she really likes you.
She does? He asked, a little surprised.
The Queen nodded, Yes, but it's all new to her and there are some things she's having a hard time dealing with and don't want to scare you away. So just be patient a little bit longer. Trust me, every time she talks about you it's nothing, but positive things.
You see, Behemoth, you were sulking around for nothing, now try to punch me in the face! Methuselah said, while getting into a fighting position.
The two stared at the rock kaiju with the Queen giggling and him shaking his head. The Queen smiled, So did Scylla really...you know...kiss you? She asked while blushing a little bit.
He started to stroke one of his tusks, a habit he does when he's nervous about something. Um, yes, it was quite a surprise though I don't know what I did to make her run away right afterward. I hope she's not having second thoughts about me.
I doubt that. In fact that's the reason she is coming over here so she can apologize for leaving you like that. She was a little embarrassed from the whole thing to say the least.
Before he could say anything like that, all three heard a voice from afar. Mosura, what part of "Slow down so I can catch up" do you not understand! Scylla shouted while coming into view.
He quickly shook his body in a poor attempt to fluff up his fur and put a smile on his face. The Queen looked up at him with a happy and approving face. Don't be nervous. She said.
The funny thing is My Queen, I'm never a nervous kaiju till she captured my heart. He said, feeling warm.
My Queen, can you please heal my stomach, but I think I'm going to be sick from hearing that ridiculous line. Methuslah said, grumpily.
Very funny, Methuselah, you've been hanging out with Rodan too much. Behemoth said, walking over to Scylla.
She must've been nervous because she stopped dead in her tracks and every few seconds would look behind him to see if the Queen was coming over to her as well. Luckily for him, Methuselah was keeping the Queen busy by telling her more about his brawl with the King. Despite looking so nervous, she appeared to be happy to see him just as he was happy to see her. He decided to test the water as they would put it by kneeling down to her, Miss Scylla, it's great to see you again. He said, and proceeded to plant a small kiss on her forehead just like he did before.
Sadly, his mouth met air because she quickly backed away from him and looked away with a nervous blush on her face. He picked himself up back to his perfect posture and at the corner of his eye he could see Methuselah shaking his head from his rather embarrassing moment while the Queen frowned from his missed opportunity. His attention went back to her when she cleared her throat. It's good to see you too, Behemoth...and here I thought you didn't want to after what happened yesterday.
Nonsense, never feel that way. He said, but still Scylla didn't want to look at him either out of embarrassment or shyness. A tip Rodan gave him came into mind and decided to try it. With that, he lifted his paw up and use his claws to gently caress her face (which made her snap out of her deep thoughts) before placing them on the bottom of her chin to tilt her head up so she can face him….Like I said before my Dear, you always brighten my day, no matter what.
~I'll do whatever it takes
To turn this around
I know what's at stake
I know that I've let you down
And if you give me a chance
Believe that I can change
I'll keep us together whatever it takes..~
She was rather speechless and tense, but after a few seconds he can feel her body relaxing while letting her tentacles wrap around his arm. Not sure if this was some form of an embrace, but will take it no less. It didn't last though as she gently pushed his arm away, I'm flattered, I really am. She said, softly. I hope we weren't disturbing you. I came here to apologize for yesterday and the Queen wanted to make sure Methuselah was alright after fighting the King.
He smiled, she looked so cute when she blushed. Apologize for what my Dear? He asked, trying to play dumb. You didn't do anything wrong.
Actually I did. With me swimming off and leaving you in the ocean alone knowing your fear of the water.
Granted I did almost drown, but I'm still here and kicking so there's no need to feel bad about it.
But it was rather rude for me to do that. I'm more well-mannered than that. Also,...about what we did underwater….I'm sorry I didn't know what came over me….but believe me it will never happen again.
Well, that was truly a slap in the face, he thought, but he smiled no less. Don't be so bashful about that, my Dear, although it caught me by surprise I enjoyed it no less.
Good save on that comment, Behemoth! Methuselah shouted.
That only made Scylla blush deeper and she was getting very uncomfortable. Perhaps this is a bad time to talk? She asked, backing away a bit.
Oh don't mind him. He's not himself right now after getting hit on the head by the King.
No, I'm feeling just fine. Quit lying! Methuselah said only to get a disapproval glare from the Queen.
But if you want more of a one on one discussion how about a nice lunch date?
She lowered her head and frowned, I'm not sure, I know the Queen needs to get home since she doesn't want to be away from her egg too long and I'm helping her out since she's been a bit hyper with the whole waiting game.
That's understandable, it doesn't have to be today, whenever is perfect for you will be perfect for me. He said, with a lot of charm. Boy, this lovely female sure loves to challenge him.
That seems to calm her down. Alright, how about tomorrow then. The Queen and I will be delighted to have lunch with you.
Splendid….wait what? He asked.
What? The Queen said out loud by accident.
That makes three of us….what? Methuselah added.
00000000
(The next day)
What?... The King said with narrow eyes and a confused look on his face.
She watched from the distance while her little friend and Dear King talked. She hated putting her friend in this tense situation, but if she wanted this...this...whatever this thing she got herself into with Behemoth to work, she really needed Mosura for emotional support. Luck was not on her side though since the Gentle Giant was friends with a male neither she and Dear King liked.
It's just lunch and Scylla wants me to go with her for you know….support? The Queen said with a nervous smile.
Just lunch….boy where did I hear THAT before. Dear King sneered, but stayed calm no less.
I won't be gone long, it's only going to be the three of us unless you want to come along as well. The Queen chirped happily, probably hoping that will calm the tension in the air.
I would, but somebody…YOU...told me you don't want to leave the egg alone….
Right….I forgot about that. She said, and started to play with her antenna, My King, she needs my help.
She couldn't help, but smile despite the constant nagging and tentacle-pulling moments Mosura would do to her, she was glad to have her as a friend no less. Her warm thoughts were quickly interrupted by Dear King.
So what if the Stupid Squid gets fucking horny around the Chatterbox, I don't see how this is YOUR problem?!
I can hear you, you know. She said out loud to get the royal couple's attention. That didn't make Dear King cringe down though.
AND? Do you want me to say it louder or something? He yelled back at her before snorting.
My King, show some manners. The Queen whispered to him while slightly hitting him in the shoulder.
He turned his attention back to the Queen and huffed, You already went over there yesterday-
Because she wanted me to go with her so she could talk to Behemoth and I wanted to make sure you didn't hurt Methuselah as badly as you said you did.
Oh really, and this has nothing to do with- He stopped when his eyes shifted over to her which made her flinch a bit before letting his eyes glow. A sign he was communicating with the Queen through their connection. Boy part of her wished she had the mental power to do that with Mosura. Oh the things they can talk about between each other.
With his eyes glowing and making sneerful hand gestures, Mosura's antennas started to twitch which was her way of responding. Again, she kept a calm face and even bowed to Dear King. Probably trying her hardest to show him, this lunch date was just that and not some stupid way for her to go see the firebird. Back and forth they went with glowing eyes and twitching antennas as the bickering body language went from pleading to sass to insults to something that made the Queen say out loud. Will you stop calling her that! Back to antennas twitching she went.
Then went to Dear King rolling his eyes and facepalming his head. Oh you HAD to bring that up, didn't you? You and her are the same- Now his eyes were glowing so bright it made Mosura shake her head from the hard tension she was feeling in her head.
If you let me go this time, I'll talk to her about it….deal? She asked.
He snorted, Fine...deal.
Mosura smiled and kissed his mouth, Thank you, we will be back soon. She said and flew over to her. She landed on her shell, Are you ready to go or do you want me to shine you up a bit?
She shook her head, No, let's get out of here before Dear King changes his mind. She looked back at Dear King who was lying next to the egg as always, giving her a deadly glare. No doubt, will be blaming her if anything goes wrong with this lunch thing. Thanks again, Dear King, and no worry it's my duty to make sure the Queen is protected at all times.
The glaring went on and on and it didn't stop even after she took off into the ocean with the Queen saying good-bye and I love you to Dear King. Once they were out of sight, the Queen spoke, I told you he was not going to like this.
What did he say?
Well to put it in a nicer way, he said you need to face this problem yourself and not get me involved. I can only accompany you on this lunch date for now till I can convince him otherwise.
Oh, that's not good then. She said, slightly sinking down into the water.
She felt Mosura tapping her shell. Hey, no frowning, we want Behemoth to see you shining not all dull out like you are now.
Haha, very funny. She said.
00000000000
The so called lunch felt awkward to say the least and she was pretty sure she's not the only one who felt it….
It was another sunny day, but at least there was a breeze, but that didn't seem to damper Behemoth and Mosura's nervousness yet polite manners. When they arrived at his home, Behemoth was there waiting and was happy to hear Rodan was out and about and won't be back anything soon, so Mosura (and Dear King) had nothing to worry about. He politely greeted her and the Queen with that warm deep voice of his.
It's great to see you again, Miss Scylla and as well as you too, my Queen. Though I'm surprised nevertheless to have you here and forgive me for sounding rude.
The Queen laughed nervously, Oh, Behemoth, you're never rude and Scylla invited me to this lunch thing and how could I say no. I just love your colorful stories, I could never get bored of them.
Yes, of course. He said trying hard to look disappointed, but she picked it up no less. He really wanted this lunch thing to be between him and her as another way to bond. Part of her felt guilty since he did nothing to wrong her in any way yet she pulled this stunt on him. The other part of her didn't see the guilt since she wanted Mosura here in the first place to she wouldn't get so distracted by-
Scylla, are you alright. She heard the Queen say.
She shook her head and looked up at the Queen. I'm sorry what?
You seem really distracted by something my Dear. Behemoth said, with a worry look on his face.
She laughed nervously, No….I mean...sorry...I was just….admiring the scenery. She said and pointed at the mile-long destruction behind them. I noticed some of the plants are coming back from that fire trauma it endured.
That made the Sloth beamed, Oh yes, I'm finally getting a lot of tiny saplings in if you would like to see.
Plants were never her thing, she didn't eat them nor find them amusing, but before she could decline, Mosura spoke up. We would love to see them. There's nothing more wonderful than seeing something grow out of carnage. Right Scylla?
To be honest, plants are all the same to me. She said as Behemoth guided them over to ground covered in ash and soot.
I hate to say this, my Dear, but not all plants are the same. Some grow into flowers, others trees and sadly, weeds. Behemoth staring down at the dirt and as gently as he could he blew some of the ashes away, revealing little tiny trees growing. The Queen landed down on the ground to get a better look. How lovely, it's funny how the most festering place can grow the most beautiful plants.
Yes indeed, you have to hand it to Rodan, yes he did burn down this place, but thanks to his extra radiation he put in the ground, this batch of trees will come back faster, stronger and very rich when it comes to health. Behemoth said.
Speaking of health, I think I'm going to go find those plants and flowers Behemoth showed me the last time to eat. After laying an egg that big, I could use the extra energy. Mosura said, flying up into the air.
I'll go with you. Scylla said.
No, no, I can get it faster if I flew over there plus we don't want to leave Behemoth alone, now do we. Mosura smiled.
She knew what she was doing and she didn't like it one bit. She gave Mosura a look because this was not part of the plan. She didn't want to be alone with the Sloth not after that little smooch and run thing she did underwater. Mosura?
It will only take a minute. She said, smiling before flying away. Leaving her alone with the Gentle Giant. She sighed.
You seem rather nervous. Care to talk about it. Behemoth asked.
What makes you think I'm nervous. She squeaked.
His eyes grew big only to chuckle a bit. Well for one thing, your voice got very high there.
She blushed, Oh…..
It's quite alright, it's actually quite cute. He said, looking down at her with that warm smile she was growing to like. Anyway now that we have some alone time, I was hoping we could discuss what happened when we were underwater.
She looked down at the ground, staring intensely at the little saplings and the ash. Anything was better than staring into his eyes. What's there to talk about. I said I was sorry.
Perhaps, but I didn't see the problem in it. Do you really mean it when you said you will never kiss me again? He asked, softly. Again though I was surprised by it I happen to enjoy it no less. I don't see why it had to stop with that unless there's a reason?
Now she was blushing, Would you accept that maybe I was off guard and now looking back at it that was me moving too fast. She lied. There was no way she's going to tell him that having him so close to her made her breeding urges flare up.
Well, the last thing I want is for you to feel uncomfortable. Though that seems to be happening a lot…
Please don't start blaming yourself for this. She said rather quickly. Can we not talk about this and just enjoy our lunch.
Behemoth stared at her before shrugging, So be it. So what does a lovely lady like yourself eat?
No plants that's for sure. I tend to grab whatever I can from the ocean or the sky. She said, finally looking up at him again.
If you like to venture out in the ocean, I will happily join you on one condition.
Which is? She asked.
Just don't leave me there like that last time. I have to say it was rather embarrassing to explain to Rodan why I was nearly drowning in the ocean.
Behemoth stayed in the shallow part this time while she gathered another bundle of tiny sea creatures she can find for some sort of meal. What she would do to go to the bottom of the ocean for a whale or a colossal squid, but that kind of hunt could take hours and she didn't want to leave for that long. She would look back once in a while to see Behemoth talking to the Queen who was having her own meal while sitting on his back. Nothing out of the ordinary since that's how the Queen can talk to much bigger kaijus due to her small size. Once in a while she would toss a tree down to him for him to catch it and eat.
I have to say, Behemoth, you sure pick the best place for greenery. These plants really help with energy. Mosura said, before taking a bite out of a tree.
Well, there's plenty, my Queen, so eat up. I know it takes a lot to give birth or in your case lay an egg so we need to make sure you recover a hundred percent. He said, smiling.
Oh stop, you don't have to worry about me, I already have our King and Scylla looking after me. She giggled. As much as I like the attention, they're getting a little overboard.
You can see them just showing you how much they care. He insisted.
Oh, I know they do. Mosura said while shifting her blue eyes over to her. She smiled and she knew that smile from anywhere, Mosura was about to say something that might embarrass her if not careful. Especially Scylla, but not too surprising there, she always had a big heart.
Yeah, she was going to embarrass her.
It's strange because I don't even feel nervous about becoming a mother, Kaiju knows Our King is the exact opposite of that, but I think it's because I know Scylla will be there to help out and reassure me that everything will be fine.
Mosura, quit talking to him like I'm not here, please. She said, giving her a look.
But Scylla, Mosura whined, (Her trick to getting her way) Don't be so gloomy about it, I'm simply telling the truth. She looked down at Behemoth, I would help out whenever Scylla had her hatchlings, but she would always tell me it's not needed. She was such a great mother, so tender, and loving and patient and we're talking about raising nearly a hundred hatchlings. She giggled.
Behemoth smiled, clearly impressed, I see….I can actually picture that in my mind. I felt that vibe the second I spotted her during the False King's ruling.
Losing her appetite, she walked over to the two with a rather moody look. Mosura, enough, please.
The giggling stop and Mosura floated down till she landed on Behemoth's tusk. What's wrong, we're only talking.
No, you're kind of putting me in an odd spotlight. She said, trying not to lose her cool.
Well, somebody has too, you're too busy being so distant from us and not saying anything. Mosura pointed out.
I was trying to gather food, so excuse me for it taking so long. The sea creatures aren't exactly big here.
My Dear, it's perfectly fine if it takes a while, Like the Queen said, we were just chatting. Behemoth said.
Please don't defend her. I know our Queen and she can get a tad overboard. Scylla said.
I was just telling Behemoth some nice things about you. What do you want to talk about then? The bad, the weird, or how about that one embarrassing thing that happened eons ago when-
They heard the ground shake and all three looked back to see Rodan landing on his pile of boulders' nest and started to stretch out his wings. While Behemoth and Mosura looked so calm seeing Rodan, she, on the other hand, muttered underneath her breath. Great just when she thought things can't get any worse.
Rodan, good to see you home…..I think….Behemoth said, a little unease. Look sharp, we have guests.
It didn't take long for Rodan's yellow eyes to spot the colorful wings dangling on Behemoth's tusk and sure enough she saw that troublemaking grin spread across his face. I can see that.
If you can see that then perhaps you can leave, we are having lunch after all. She said, politely.
The Queen landed on her shell and whispered, Scylla, don't be so rude.
Me? He's the one interrupting this lunch date. She said. Of all the nerve, why isn't her little friend freaking out from this.
Interrupting? I'm just coming home after being away for two days. So tell me how in the world am I in the wrong here? He asked, frowning a bit.
Behemoth huffed, Rodan, let's try to be civil here.
It was a good thing, Mosura got away from Behemoth because "shockingly" Rodan flew over and landed on the Sloth's tusk this time causing her to back away a bit from the sudden closeness. She was shocked to see how calm Mosura was though. Rodan cleared his throat, I am being civil, plus you said it yourself we have guests and it's rude not to say hi, don't you think?
Yes, of course and I'm glad you're finally taking my advice on using better manners but-
Behemoth, let's not keep the lovely Queen and her "colorful" friend waiting. He said, then turned his attention to Mosura. She huffed because the word "Colorful" was something Dear King would use if he wanted to insult her in front of Mosura. And how are you on this wonderful day, Lovely Queen.
Seriously, did he really think the Queen is going to buy that Behemoth-like charm. He even went as far as bowing his head a bit. She spoke too soon when she heard her little friend chuckled. I see hanging out with Behemoth did teach you some manners. I'm doing fine as you can see. She said, smiling nervously.
Always with the sly insults, and here I am trying to be polite. Rodan said, smiling.
She turned her attention to Behemoth who was looking a little uneasy as well. Can we please get back to our lunch date. She asked.
Of course we can, the more the merrier I always say.
Forget that, Behemoth if this is a date-date, you two can go ahead to do what you want. I will gladly keep the Queen company since she's here and all. Rodan said, full of charm. Pure mockery, she thought, pure, disgusting, mockery.
Oh like I'm going to allow that to happen, you silly bird. She said, getting right up to his face. How about you make things easy for all of us and just leave.
Rodan cleared his throat, This is my home and I'm not going to leave unless Behemoth says so and I can guarantee he would do it more politely.
Can we please not fight. This is supposed to be a quiet lunch and I'm sure we can compromise. Mosura said, tapping her shell.
Behemoth nodded, The Queen is right, I'm sure once everyone settles down we can-
NO! She and Rodan shouted at the same time.
You know what maybe it's best I leave. I need to get back to watch over my egg after all. The Queen said.
Scylla growled to herself, So be it, I don't want to be here anymore. She said and turned around to walk away. The sudden turn nearly made Mosura fall off her shell.
Wait, Scylla that's not what I meant. I want you to stay after all this is your lunch date and-
Please stop talking, Mosura. Scylla said, trying so hard not to look back. She didn't know where she was going, but she just wanted to take the Queen away from the stupid bird.
She heard Mosura sighed, I'm sorry, we need to do this lunch date another time. She shouted back to Behemoth and Rodan.
I understand, I really do. Behemoth said, sounding very disappointed.
Don't look at me that way, she started it, I told you she can be a stuck up little-
The sound of a punch hitting Rodan could be heard followed by the fire demon falling into the water…..
00000000
She's been walking for nearly an hour in silence not knowing where she was going nor did she care. Mosura was nice enough to wait for her to cool down or to say something, but when that didn't happen she decided to break the ice instead. Scylla, will you stop for a second.
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly before stopping so her friend could get off of her. Once Mosura landed on the ground the happy face disappeared and the anger came out. What in the world was THAT all about! She asked with her wings fluttering and turning red. I have never seen you be that rude before and kaiju knows Behemoth didn't deserve that!
ME! She snapped, What about you! She pointed a tentacle in her friend's face. It was supposed to be a lunch date not you reconnecting with your past Fling, Mosura!
That made the Queen's head fly back in shock and it even shocked her as well. Never in their years of friendship did she ever say something so petty and spiteful like that to the moth. Scylla, how dare you say such a thing to me. You were the one who invited me and he was right, it is his home so you had no right to make him leave. Not to mention he just asked me how I was doing!
That doesn't mean you had to answer him! I mean it was bad enough having you embarrass me in front of Behemoth-
How is me giving you compliments embarrassing you. He seems rather delightful knowing more about you. She said, getting upset.
See there you go again, you always get too heavily involved with the males in my life-
You INVITED me to help you. Remember? I had to really beg my King for letting go in the first place but I didn't mind because that's what you want. I wanted to be there for you like you wanted!
But you didn't have to praise me like that, if I want him to know more about me that will be my job not yours.
Exactly! But we were there for a couple of hours and you barely said much to him. You made sure to keep your distance and keep backing away from him when he tried to get close. While you were too busy looking the other way you didn't see the hurt in his eyes.
Looking the other way?...Oh, that's funny coming from you. Do you expect the King to look the other way when he finds out you were talking to that horrible bird again.
The Queen started to tremble from her remark and turned away. I'm leaving, I don't need this harassment from you. I get enough of that already. She said, jumping up into the air.
She groaned and lowered herself to the ground already regretting this stupid bickering between them. Wait, Mosura….don't go, I have no right to be mad at you.
Staring at the wet sand, she felt Mosura landing down on the ground again next to her and all went quiet. The air felt thick to both of them for a couple of minutes till she exhaled and looked over at her little friend. I'm sorry….you were right, I did invite you after all, I didn't know he was going to show up….I think this whole...whatever this is with Behemoth is just taking a toll on me….
Mosura sighed and leaned her little body against hers. Scylla, I know you like him and he really likes you, but it's not right to string him along if you're just not comfortable with anything. Obviously this is making you a little crazy to say the least.
She frowned, I do want something to happen, but this is all new to me. I don't know how I'm supposed to react and I don't want him to feel like I'm just going to use him in hopes to get eggs. I don't want to say it out loud, but I miss my old life sometimes Mosura. I'm still young and not having any eggs to nest and take care of is just throwing me out of my element and it's rather depressing, and ever since he came into the picture it's just getting worse. Not to mention, perhaps he's too nice, too good for someone like me to have and don't get me started about him hanging out with Rodan. It's like the King all over again with me not getting along with his best friend and putting him in the middle like we used to do to you.
You know if you just talk to him about all this then maybe it won't be so awkward and tense between the both of you. You need to give Behemoth the benefit of a doubt, he's a very understandable kaiju and I don't think he would look at you in a different light.
Oh please what makes you so sure about that. She asked.
Well, that's one of the things about being in a relationship, taking chances, talking things out and understanding each other.
She wanted to laugh and she did which made Mosura look at her strangely. I think you and I know you lost a lot of creditably when it comes to relationships. Maybe that's another reason why I don't want nothing to do with one.
Mosura took a step back and lowered her head to stare at the ground. You too? I get enough lecture and badgering from everyone else, but I never thought my best friend would too.
Scylla sighed, I'm not going to yell or anything like that Mosura, but come on, I was there when you and the King started out and believe me it was not that easy to sit back and watch the two of you go through so much drama, the fighting and nearly getting yourselves killed when fighting the False King or other strong opponents, but you love him and he loves you and you even went as far as threatening to end our friendship because I wouldn't accept him. And I know you don't want to hear this from me because of all the stuff you went through with him and the firebird, but a part of me just can't understand why?
Mosura didn't say anything so she decided to continue.
Look, I'm not judging you and even though the King can be a big A-hole sometimes, but Rodan...he's….someone I thought you would never give a time of day for. Who knows maybe he was right that he treats you differently when it only you two...but if you were unhappy with the King….why didn't you-
I wasn't unhappy, Scylla, I told you, we were going through a rough patch. He left and I was lonely.
But he came back like he always does. And I know you and Rodan formed a bond, but you knew you were hurting the King by keeping Rodan around so why didn't you break it off with him. What in the world was going through your mind when you were sneaking out and doing things with him behind Dear King's back. Granted, me and him don't get along, but he didn't deserve that kind of treatment.
Mosura sighed and couldn't help, but giggle a little bit even though it was probably her way not to shed tears. What happened between Rodan and I is just that….just between us. The only thing I can say is that when my King left, I was lonely and he was lonely and it just happened. I don't know how else to explain it, Scylla. He's different when it was just me and him and we were having so much fun. He just made things so easy especially when things were rough between me and my King. It was hard for me to let that go. The only thing I regret was letting it get so far like it did. There's more to him than just some cocky A-word he claims to be, and I'm glad Behemoth was able to see that just like I did. I'm not perfect, Scylla, you know that, but don't let my relationship or my mistakes keep you from trying something wonderful with Behemoth. You said it yourself, he's a lot more well-mannered and charming than Rodan and my King, so why make everything so hard?
Her buried her face in the dirt. I really messed up didn't I? She said though her voice was muffled by the dirt.
And most likely embarrassed yourself...a gain, but hey, there's a first for everything. Normally you're the calm one in any given situation.
Well, I don't know why, but it feels like I get so clumsy and warm everytime I'm around him. Oh kaiju, we just took off without even saying anything to him.
Technically, I said something and like I said you could've stayed.
Oh just rub that in my face.
I will once you get your head out of the dirt. She said
They both laugh and she could suddenly feel Mosura wrapping her arms around her neck for a comforting hug. One of her soft wings rested on top of her shell while the other folded inward. She finally lifted her face out of the dirt and sighed, Mosura, forgive me for throwing your mistake in your face like that. I think it was stupid desperate attempt to change the subject about my own problems.
I had a feeling, but it's ok. I'll always be here for you. She said, hugging her tighter.
So what should I do now? She asked.
Well, I need to head home to check on the egg and my King. You, on the other hand, can use this time to cool off a bit and perhaps head back to Behemoth's home and explain yourself. I mean he deserves an explanation don't you think?
0000000000
~She said "if we're gonna make this work
You gotta let me inside even though it hurts
Don't hide the broken parts that I need to see
She said like it or not it's the way it's gotta be
You gotta love yourself if you can ever love me…~
Unfortunately she didn't go back.
After Mosura left, she just stayed in that one spot till sunset trying to figure out how to approach the situation in a mature fashion sort of away, but came up with nothing. It stunned her a bit because it was so out of her character, but she didn't know what else to do. So she went home, got some sly remarks from her parasite companion before going to sleep. What she didn't expect was waking up the next day to another gift next to her sleeping spot. At first it freaked her out because it was a freshly dead whale with fatal puncture holes around its neck till she heard the Muto chuckling from behind her.
The stupid bird came by this morning to drop it off. Pissy and moody as always when I asked him about it. The Parasite said.
She tapped the dead whale, making some blood squirt out of the wounds, and was very confused. What is it? Some sort of peace offering? She asked.
The Muto shook her head, No, apparently you said something to the silly sloth about you not liking plants or something like that I wasn't really paying attention so he made the bird bring this instead.
She frowned because she had a strong feeling Behemoth was blaming himself for that bad lunch date. Stupid male, he was too nice for his own good and she would know since she's been around Mosura and everyone kaiju knows how nice and trustworthy she can be. Did Rodan say anything?
Just the unusual insults and something about you making a big scene yesterday got the Sloth all wild up with emotions. Don't really care. If you're not going to eat that, can I have it?
Seriously, that's the only thing going through your mind right now is food? She asked, annoyed.
I'm hungry and this will save me some time hunting since I don't feel like it and we can't eat humans anymore.
No, this gift is for me. She said.
Just asking since you don't seem happy with it like the last time.
Maybe it's because there's no motive around it, he's just being nice. She said, grabbing the whale with her tentacles and proceeding to tear it apart for smaller bites.
I can see how that's throwing you off a little since most of the times when a male gives you a present that usually lead to-
Don't say it! She shouted.
Give me a piece and I'll leave you alone.
She tossed a piece over to the Muto who took a step back to catch it with her mouth. After swallowing it, she chuckled, More self-control my ass. Stop making it so hard on yourself and get it out of your system already.
Leave! She spat.
Fine, fine, suit yourself, but you know I'm right. I'm always right. The Muto said, walking away.
She told herself to give her time to think about all this and what to do next. She thought about going back to Mosura, but figures she's been visiting them way too much and didn't want to cause anymore problems with Dear King. Shoot, she was already on edge on how Dear King took the news about Rodan showing up on that lunch date. She hoped Mosura was doing fine. However the sudden need to go see the Sloth was getting to her that by the late evening, she couldn't take it anymore and took off without saying a word to her companion and headed over there with no plan how to approach him.
It was late at night when she made it to his home. The stupid bird was asleep on his pile of rocks with his wings wrapped around him like some light up cocoon. What she really wanted to do was push him off just to see him hit the water when a deep voice interrupted her petty idea.
My Dear Scylla, this is rather….unexpected.
She blushed. Ok it was kind of odd showing up in the middle of the night, but hey, she's new at all this romantic stuff. She cleared her throat. Sorry, I….was so restless and couldn't stop thinking about that awful lunch fiasco yesterday and…. Her tentacles started to curl up tight to the point they were actually hurting. Why did she feel so nervous all of a sudden? Why was it so hard and weird just to tell him he was on her mind and she just wanted to see him. Perhaps I was a little rude for just leaving like that. Trust me, I'm normally more polite and lady-like than that.
He let out a deep chuckle which sent shivers down her body and made her shell rattle a bit. Good graces Scylla, get a hold of yourself she thought. Staring down at the water, she can hear him getting up and walking towards her with low rumble steps. She felt his large shadow covering her from the moonlight and the comfortable warmth from his fur. She didn't dare to look up at first til her eyes locked on his enormous tusks and slowly trail up the worn-down ivory covered in vines and battle scars (no doubt if she ask he would gladly tell her how he got those scars in great detail). The need to curl her tentacles around them came into mind, but luckily for her she had better control of herself. (right?) Finally, she looked up at his face and he was just smiling at her with his eyes glowing. A great trait every kaiju has in the dark though none of them could switch different colors like Dear King can.
Now I hope you didn't come all this way over here just to apologize? He asked though he couldn't stop smiling.
She blushed, What other reason could there be?
She said it in such a low whisper hoping he wouldn't catch it. Plus to make sure not to wake up his rotten companion. But he did. Well, maybe I was hoping you were here because you wanted to see me.
There was a slight slyness in his sentence and made her think he's been hanging out with Rodan too long, but quickly threw that out of her head. She suddenly felt like her throat was closing up from the closeness he was next to her. He smelled like fresh dirt and plants and it was quite relaxing to her and for some reason made her wonder if her scent was as pleasant as his was.
Because I feel like every time we see each other you always look so timid and I hope it's not of my doing? He concluded.
You really need to stop blaming yourself. She said, finally uncurling her tentacles and letting them wrap around his tusks. The same kind of gesture she would see Mosura do when she would wrap her wings around Dear King. A way so showing comfort and support. A small bit of affection without going overboard.
He took one step closer believing touching was allowed. I just want you to be comfortable around me, my Dear and clearly I'm not doing a good job.
She flinched when she heard Rodan shift in his sleep before turning her attention back to Behemoth. Letting her tentacles coil tighter around his tusks, she leaned against the left one and closed her eyes. She needed to relax and he was so nice to wait patiently for that. This is all new to me…..all I want is time. She said, thinking that was too much to ask for.
Like I said before, I have all the time in the world for you…..
That was good to know and here she thought that was all words.
They stayed like that for a moment while enjoying the sounds of the warm breeze and the gentle waves below them. She sighed, I better get going so you can go back to sleep.
Or we can stay up and watch the stars. To be honest I'm wide awake anyway.
She really shouldn't, but she wasn't exactly stepping away either. It was taking everything in her to keep herself from going into another trance. That does sound nice. She whispered, its not like she had other things to do anyway.
Wonderful…..

~I'll do whatever it takes
To turn this around
I know what's at stake
I know that i've let you down
And If you give me a chance
And give me a break
I'll keep us together,
I know you deserve much better..~
(A month and a half later…)
Next thing she knew time flew by faster than she thought and Behemoth was true to his words. He did give her time to figure out some things and as Mosura said "explore this silly thing called relationship" though still not sure if she could call it that or not. It was more like visiting him every few days or so and seeing where it goes. One thing for sure, it keeps her days busy instead of just resting at her nesting ground with the parasite. She would spend most of her time with Mosura who was getting more and more impatient for her egg to hatch which of course is causing more emotional strain on Dear King's head and was there just to calm her down. When she's not there she would be with Behemoth for friendly conversations and her trying every possible way to get him to go back into the water with her. Rodan would normally be gone when she would show up or stay in his nest and watch them quietly. They don't speak to each other and that was perfectly ok with her and had a feeling he was trying to be civil like she was for Behemoth's sake. Next thing she knew, she was shortening her visit to her little friend to make more time for him which she never thought she would do ever in her life. Luckily Mosura understand since she did the same thing when she got together with Dear King and was glad things were getting better between her and the Gentle Giant
That right there made her over think again. Was it, really? Sure they were spending time together, but she was still having conflicted thoughts with the whole showing affection thing. After that kiss she did underwater, she made sure to keep herself more tamed, but that didn't stop the Sloth from trying to make a move. If she would call it that, to him it was trying to cuddle up against her or nuzzle foreheads which she would kindly back away from again and again. She was sure he wasn't trying to persuade her into doing something sexually, but that doesn't mean rubbish to her high instincts and urges so it's best not to respond to any of them. Mosura told her one way or another she needed to talk to him about that because those little rejects will eventually get to him if she's not careful.
She was lying in her nest thinking about all this when all of a sudden she heard Mosura's voice in her head. Happy to hear from her since the last time they spoke was a week ago, she closed her eyes to help her concentrate on her message. She nearly jumped out of her nest, but grabbed the Muto's attention from her excitement on hearing the good news.
The egg hatched a few days ago and Mosura wanted her best friend to be the first to see the new heir…
00000000
~But remember the time I told you the way that I felt
That I'd be lost without you and never find myself
Let's hold onto each other above everything else
Start over, start over...~
She didn't know what to expect since Mosura refuse to tell her the sex or what the little one looked like. All she said was if it made Dear King speechless, she will be too. She was not sure how to take that, but Ok, either way she was excited. It's not everyday she would be the one congratulating Mosura's on motherhood and her new hatchling and perhaps hopefully it won't be the last.
It took her awhile to get to Mosura's home since she couldn't make up her mind if she wanted to bring a gift or not for the little one since she didn't know what to take. The first thing she heard when she resurfaced was Mosura's soft sweet melody in the air and could see her lying down in the sand with one of her wings cradling her while flashing different colors through the silky material. That was easily clouded by the site of her home. It looked like the island suffered a bad flood by the way the ground was covered in broken shells, dead trees, rocks and there were puddles everywhere. The trees that were still standing were torn up a bit and the mountain home had seen better days.
Scylla, I'm so happy to see you. She heard Mosura whisper.
She shook her head and walked over to her rather extremely happy friend. Her bright wing was still covering her like a secure hug, but would see something kicking the wing from underneath it. As am I. She said, lying down in front of her. What in the world happened here? She asked, looking around the island.
Oh that, we got hit by a tropical storm a few days ago. No big deal. Mosura said, lifting her wing up a bit to look at whatever she was hiding though she had a good guess what it was….or who it was.
Are you serious? Why didn't you and Dear King take shelter.
I didn't want to leave the egg or risk moving it which was a good idea since it started to hatch during the storm.
You don't say? She said in disbelief. How did you manage to protect it during the flood?
It wasn't easy, but my King made sure to block most of the water while I made sure to keep the rain and mud from entering the egg. She giggled, I swear barely in the world for a minute and just like my King, the little one had to make a grand entrance. It's like when the human gave him that boost of power to fight the False King and had to show off how powerful he became. Anyway, next thing I knew the storm lit up and this little one came out squealing.
She lifted her wing up and it was a good thing she was lying down because she would've fainted from the site in front of her. Curled up against its' mother fur with her arms cradling it laid a very tiny lizard kaiju. Same color scales, same features of the King, but with big blue glowing eyes and a smooth back. It let out a tiny little squeak from the sun hitting him and buried his face in Mosura's fur. Mosura giggled and looked up at her with a proud smile. Scylla, I like you to meet our little Prince...Azure.
She couldn't stop herself, Oh my fucking Kaiju, he looks just like him!
She quickly smacked herself with one of her tentacles while Mosura's eyes bulged out from her sudden reaction. Scylla, since when do you use such language?
The little Prince gave her that familiar look Dear King would give her. The "Stupid Squid" look. Yup he was Dear King's son alright. She bowed her head in shame, Forgive me my Queen, Mosura, it's just….it's just….wow...he just a tiny version of Dear King, even down to that grumpy stare he's giving me.
That made Mosura laugh, I know right? She said, while Azure turned away from her and started to grab hold of Mosura's furry cheeks. Clearly not liking the attention he was getting by growling and nuzzling her face while pulling a few strands of hair. Ow….now, now, don't be shy little one, Scylla is not going to harm you. That didn't seem to ease him as he tried to curl himself back into a little ball as a way to hide himself.
Scylla let one of her tentacles snake over to the little Prince and grabbed him by his tail. As gently as she could she pulled him away from his mother so she could get a better look. Mosura didn't mind since she trusted her and wanted her to bond with the little one. Azure protested, nearly yanking out some of Mosura's fur before being dragged across the wet sand and over to her.
She lifted him up by the tail, getting another squeak out of him from being upside down, and examined him. No back plates?
My King said those will come later on, give or take half a century. She said.
She hissed when Azure started to claw at her tentacle in hopes she would release him. No back plates, but his nails surely grew out in no time. He reached up and bit her. Although it felt like a pinch she quickly put him down. I see he is already getting his teeth in as well.
Mosura nodded, They grew in pretty fast, but it's to help him eat and I can already tell he's going to eat a lot.
Given who his sire is, not surprised. She said, looking down at Azure who was trying to get up on his feet only to fall back down again. Once again he gave her the "Stupid Squid" look, seriously how in the world would he know that. He let out a small little growl, a mere tiny squeal compared to Dear King. She tilted her head, Aww, what's a matter little Prince, trying to scare me with that little roar?
Don't antagonize him, Scylla, it will make him fussy. Mosura said, leaning over to grab him till she intervened.
I'm not, I think it's really cute. He's just trying to show his dominance. Though it might be hard since he's still having a hard time walking.
He's only four days old.
Still I remember my hatchlings doing that to one another. Just shows he's going to be a strong one growing up. She said.
They both remain quiet while she continues to play with the little Prince. The boy was so serious she noticed just like Dear King. Not even a smile or a laugh out of him as he tried to bite her a few more times. She did love the eyes though, they have that calming blue glow like Mosura's and from the looks of it it was the only thing he got from his mother.
So what do you think? Mosura asked.
Well, I'm sure Behemoth is going to be thrilled when he hears how right he was about it being a boy. My goodness, Mosura, he looks nothing like you….but still, he's adorable and I'm so proud of you. She said while gently pushing Azure back to her little friend. Azure didn't protest and quickly buried his body back into her fur for protection. Mosura giggled and gave his forehead a tiny lick. I'm glad, I really am. Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. I just love lizard kaijus.
Yes, I know. I truly know. She said, looking at the little one trying to hide. So how is Dear King taking it?
He was about as stunned as you were. He never thought he would live to see another one of his kind exist again. He won't admit it, but I know he's a little worried about him growing up in this world. You know with the humans already keeping an eye on him and now they might do the same thing with Azure. I keep telling him, it won't be that bad since Azure has us to protect him and teach him how to survive.
How about being a Sire for the first time?
Well, that's a whole different story. But in my opinion he's doing a good job so far. I already caught him trying to teach him how to walk when he thought I was sleeping. And even going as far as cuddling him.
That's an image I would love to see. She said, snickering.
Azure stared at her, probably seeing her not as a threat anymore since she was getting along with his mother. She lowered her head down so she could meet him eye to eye. My Prince, do not fear me, I will be loyal to you and protect you with my life. You are my future Alpha.
Mosura giggled, I hope the others will show the same respect as you do?
Oh, so when are you going to show the Prince to the others? I know Behemoth is going to love meeting him. She asked.
When he gets a little bit older. He's still too young to swim right now according to my King. Mosura said, while nuzzling the little one who was occupied at the moment trying to grab her wing. Then Mosura's happy face grew serious all of a sudden causing her antennas to twitch wildly. Speaking of that, I need a favor from you.
Anything, what is it?
Well, the King wants every Kaiju to meet Azure to make sure they won't pose as a threat and see Azure as their future King and I mean "everyone."
Well this should be interesting to see when you take him to see the Muto. I'm sure she will be happy. She said sarcastically.
We have an idea how to handle that one, but this particular one I need to handle alone and my King is going to allow it this one time.
Oh crap she thought. You mean….
Msoura nodded, I was wondering if you can summon Rodan over here for me.
Mosura are you sure that's a good idea? She asked. She really didn't want to do it. She didn't want to speak to the bird.
He's going to meet Azure one way or another and I want this to be as calm and steady as possible. My King is willing to let this happen because he wants to make sure Rodan won't do any harm towards him. I'm sure Rodan wouldn't, but my King just wants to make sure. I might as well get it done and over with it and I feel like this is a private matter.
I don't know, Mosura...what makes you think he wants to see him anyway. That might stir up a lot of trouble.
Mosura frowned and Azure looked at her as if he could sense her sadness. Please, don't force him. Tell him to take his time. I really think it's better I do the introduction than my King.
She sighed and nodded no less. Alright, I'll go speak to him. You do know he doesn't like me right?
Well, perhaps you two can learn to deal with each other since you both care about Behemoth, right?
Her little friend did have a point.

(The next day)
She spent the whole day with Mosura and the little Prince before heading home for a good night sleep and to think over how she was going to talk to Rodan about this. She didn't know why Mosura wanted this little meet and greet, to happen, but it did make sense...sort of. Prince Azure will be the next one in line to rule so of course Dear King wants to make sure the little one gets the same respect and loyalty from the other kaijus so Rodan was no exceptions
With that in mind, she got up bright and early and headed out to Behemoth's home once again to complete the Queen's request. It was high noon when she made it to his home and was sad not to see the Gentle Giant there-
If you're looking for Behemoth, he went to visit Methuselah for something.
She looked up to see Rodan unwrapping his wings around him while giving her a yucky look. Well, at least he was here so that made her job a lot easier since she didn't have to track him down. Actually….and this is going to sound weird….but I came here to see you.
That made him tilt his head up a bit. Oh really, for what? Are you going to tell me to leave my home again or something?
No, geez Rodan, stop making everything about you for like two minutes.
He snorted causing smoke to come out of his nostrils. Look who's talking.
She rolled her eyes and took a deep breath so she wouldn't lose her temper. I didn't want to do this, but I can't really turn down a request from our Dear Queen….The mention of the Queen got his undivided attention this time…..But she wants to see you.
His wings dropped to his side and the embers in them festered into black smoke. What?
You heard me. She asked me personally to summon you to go over there to see her.
He stayed quiet for a bit then sneered. You're lying. This is some fucking trick, isn't it?
I wouldn't waste my time coming over here to talk to you if I was lying. Seriously she wants to see you. What part of that do you not understand? Or do you like hearing me repeat myself?
Stunned now, the only word he can spit out of his beak was: Why?
There's someone she wants you to meet…..
