Miss Queen B: Hello Lovely Readers, I hope life is treating you well, I'll keep this short and head to the the Notes:

Note One: I have to say Thank you so much for all the reviews in "Boiling Point" I'm glad nobody was too disappointed in the results. I do have to say, the only thing I thought was a little off was all the praise the Muto was getting, even going as far as seeing her as the better Queen than Mosura. Honestly, I think it take more to be a Great Queen than brute strength and I wouldn't trust someone like the Muto in that high power. She is a psychopath and narcissistic, she finds others' misery as her entertainment and doesn't care who she hurts. Back to the subject, I'm happy with the reviews no less.

Note Two: Speaking of reviews, I never thought I would do this because everyone is entitled to their opinion and when it comes to review my stories I will take the good and the bad with respect, but what I don't like are readers bashing other people's reviews. I was deeply shocked when one reader left a nice review saying how she liked the story "Playing with Fire" and the romance in it only to have another person telling her to "Go F**k yourself." That was it, nothing else but those three words. I was so upset I deleted that review because I will not tolerate cyber bullying. So please, let's be respectful to other reader's reviews and enjoy these stories. Thank you.

Note Three: I'm so, so, so for the long wait, I had a bad case of writer's block, strep throat and was putting all my concentration on "Boiling Point" to focus on Part V, but it's here and I hope I did a good job on it. Though I do feel like I was a little cruel when writing this. I hope I didn't lose readers from the wait.

Note Four: So about this chapter: This takes place right after "Boiling Point" and shows what happened that night between Behemoth and Scylla. Scylla embarrassed herself in the worse way possible. While Rodan is keeping his mouth shut about how he got his wounds, the Muto sees hers as something to brag about. And finally, Rodan meets the young Prince face to face. Enjoy.

Gentle Waves

Part V

~People say you don't know

What you've got till it's gone

Truth is you knew what you

Had you just never thought

You'd lose it.~

~Unknown

The egg….it hatched, didn't it? Rodan asked, in a very low tone of voice.

She nodded, trying so hard not to tell him to turn down the Queen's request. She really didn't want him to go over there and see the little Prince. If she was stunned to a point of using foul language from seeing a tiny version of the King, she didn't want to see the reaction Rodan might have. I saw the hatchling yesterday. I've never seen the Queen so happy. Mosura was very happy indeed she thought as she lowered her head. Look, I told her this was a bad idea, but she said our King wants to make sure we all share the same loyalty to the little one like we do to him. I already pledge my allegiance to the hatchling and now you're next in line to do the same thing.

He crossed his wings, There's no way I'm going to face the Brute and kneel to him again. I have done that already.

She rolled her eyes, of course he was going to be difficult about this. It's just going to be her and the little one. I'm just here to give you the message, you don't have to go if you don't want to, but she was hoping you will. But let's face it, you and I both know if you don't go you will regret it because you still care about her. She wanted to say Love, but would never say that out loud to him and couldn't help, but give him a smug look when he cringe from his statement.

.I'll think about it. He said which surprised her a little. You would think he will take any opportunity to go see her little friend.

Tsk, suit yourself. She said while letting herself rest down on the warm, wet sand. Bringing her front leg closer to her face, she started to groom herself. After all, she did wanted to look presentable yet she couldn't get herself comfortable with the ugly glare she was getting from the Fire Demon. She could actually feel his glare burning a hole in her shell.

Hey….He asked very slowly.

She stopped grooming herself and looked up at him in his nest. With a smile and full of sass because she had a feeling he was going to ask about the hatchling. Yes..

She can hear him grumble, no doubt calling her the worst names in his head. The Results…..

She tilted her head, Results? She asked, playing stupid.

He rolled his eyes and scoffed, What does it look like? The Sex? Was it a larva...or…

She giggled, thinking about the little Prince and how he looked so much like his Sire even down to that anti-social, "leave me alone" trait. She was there all day with the little one and not once did he smile or giggle like any normal hatchling would do. The hatchling is healthy that's for sure.

Oh she could literally see smoke coming out of his empty head, clearly not liking the answer she gave him which just made her tentacles curl up in pure glee. He was about to speak, but quickly shut his mouth when they both heard footsteps behind her. She turned her head to the right to see Behemoth walking over with his eyes locked on his fire companion with a warning no less.

Rodan, I hope you are treating our lady guest with respect and compassion. He said with a big grin on his face.

The smoke sank back into his skull and he cleared his throat while fisting his claws. Of course I am, We were just talking that's all. Apparently, the Queen's hatchling finally popped out of the egg. He said, while giving her a dirty look. She can tell he did not want her here.

The sound of rolling thunder could be heard above them and sure enough all three could see light gray clouds heading over to them. She could hear a low rumble of bliss coming from Behemoth as he walked over to the shoreline, letting the waves hit his long claws. Finally, some rain heading our way.

Rodan slouched, Well that's just fuc-

Language, Rodan. Behemoth said without missing a beat which made her giggle. That bird always made her question his character, like how easily he went from being rude and awful to her to showing respect and cooperation with Behemoth just like that.

Well excuse me, but while rain is such a pleasure to you, it fuc-really hurts my skin.

Wow, the kaiju that brings fire and destruction is afraid of a little water? She asked, looking up at him.

About as painful as leaving you in a dry location for weeks. He said, spreading out his wings to stretch them out.

Ouch, that is painful. I understand.

So I take it, you're heading out for the rest of the day? Behemoth asked.

Don't sound too disappointed, Behemoth. Rodan said, slyly, From the looks of it, I might be gone for the rest of the night so you have all the "alone" time with your "colorful" friend. Besides, I need to clear my head about something anyway.

She blushed, Really Rodan, it's only a meet and greet, you're putting way too much thought into it.

What meet and greet are we talking about? Behemoth asked.

Nothing, Rodan said, jumping into the air. I'm out so I'll see you tomorrow. He said to Behemoth.

Alright, have a safe night and please stay out of trouble. He said, with concern in his voice.

I should be telling you that. He smirked before flying off to an unknown destination.

Scylla sighed since he didn't really give her an answer so no doubt the Queen and….She chuckles...Little Prince Azure will be disappointed.

She suddenly felt Behemoth lying down next to her and sigh, What was that all about? He asked.

She started to blush again since they were now alone and she can smell his Earthy scent. Lately, with them getting closer, like right there on the borderline between friends and lovers, even just smelling him made her feel her need. She quickly shook her head and counted in her head to calm her nerves. Oh, the Queen asked me to summon him to go see our future Alpha.

Ah, yes, Rodan did mention the little one being born but, sadly, I got too distracted by the rain coming. So the little one is here now?

She nodded, Yeah and I had the honor to meet the little one first and….Wow is the best way I can describe it.

The two stayed quiet for a moment till Behemoth chuckled. It's a boy...right?

She nodded in disbelief.

Splitting image of his sire?

Oh yeah, right down to that grumpy mood Dear King would portray. He has our Queen's glowing eyes, but that's about it. Though the Queen seems rather happy with the "results."

He chuckled, Well, I'm sad to say I have to tell Methuselah he lost a bet and now owes me a huge favor.

That's right, you knew all along what it was going to be, huh?

Just a very lucky guess. I sired ten cubs throughout my life so I sorta know a thing or two when it comes to how females sport themselves when they are pregnant.

She giggled,The Queen told me about his grand entrance. Apparently, he was born during a tropical storm kicking and squealing. Yup, Little Prince Azure is going to be something when he grows up. And it's a good thing for the world, that will take a least a hundred years for him to reach adolescents and many more centuries before reaching full adulthood.

Prince Azure….He said then shook his head, And the Queen wants Rodan to meet him of all kaijus.

In her defense, Dear King wants everyone to meet him...Rodan just happens to be the next one after me. She said, grimly.

I see….this is going to hurt him….and most likely the rest of the rain forest. Behemoth said, but still kept that relaxing smile on his face.

Oh I know it will. Or worse if he does something out of line in front of the Dear King….no doubt I would be there just to make sure things run smoothly.

Did he say he was going to go?

No, just said he'll think about it. She said, resting her head down on the wet sand.

Give him time, normally a night of flying around tends to ease him down a bit. I'm sure by tomorrow he will be good as new and ready to meet the young prince.

She chuckled, I swear your positive attitude can be so...so...irrational sometimes.

Perhaps, but it sure puts a smile on your face. He said, lifting his strong arm up and placing his claws gently down on her shell.

He was doing it again, testing the waters when it comes to touching and affection. Part of her thought it was cute because he acted like a male who was really rusty when it comes to flirting since he seems unsure of himself. You would think he would get a tip or two from someone like Rodan since Mosura told her when it came to flirting and grabbing a female's attention, the firebird was very straight forward and very confident in himself.

She cleared her throat, Something wrong?

He shook his head, No, just admiring your features. He said. He slowly ran his claws down her shell, gently going over the small spikes and could hear his nails clicking across the shallow grooves and the swirl design on the side. He didn't have to be so...slow about it. It's her shell, she can't feel his soft touch since she was not attached to it completely. How do you keep it so clean and polish.

She laughs nervously, Oh, Dear Queen tends to make sure I always look my best. I still remember all the times she would primp me up during my breeding cycle. Oh kaiju, I lost count how many times we would fight about this...even worse when she brought Dear King to get involved.

Over a polished shell? He asked.

She shook her head, No, just the whole breeding thing. With her experiencing the first time being "In Love", she would tried to show me her viewpoints about it. Why settle for someone whose only goal in life is to give you eggs. You need to find someone who is nice with a great personality, she would say.

That seems to make him beam, as if she was describing him personally. Well, he did have a great personality which, of course, will never tell Mosura to avoid the "I told you so," speech. The Queen sounds like a wise female back in the good old days.

Maybe...just don't tell her that or else she will never let me live it down.

He scooted closer to her to the point her long legs were pressed against his side, slightly getting buried in that thick, coarse-like fur. He titled his head down for a better look. You seem to have cracks on it, I bet those tell a story?

How funny, I could ask you the same thing with all the wears and tears on your tusks.

I have tons of stories on those, but I want to hear yours first.

He flinched when one of her thorns poke the palm of his hand, but tried to bush it all as if she didn't see it. What's there to talk about? It's the same old story about survival. When I was still part of a pack, we normally live peaceful lives and tend to keep to ourselves. Till. of course, at the end of our breeding cycle when the hatchlings were born. Can you imagine only six to ten females looking after nearly a thousand little ones, they were so tiny, so soft and apparently very tasty to other predators. We would get a lot of them invading our nest to feast on them so obviously, we couldn't let that happen. I lost count how many times I was struck, bitten and knocked down from much larger predators so they wouldn't go near my little ones. Those cracks on my shell came from a bad fight I had with alpha kaiju, I swear if he had hit me one more time, my shell would've shattered. She sighed, remembering those times like it was yesterday. The sad part is... there were times I would win and there were times I would lose….where I end up losing all of them.

That must've been hard to live with that trauma and guilt. He said, tracing the old cracks in her shell with his nail.

It was….that time when I lost all of them, I was so depressed even Mosura had a hard time getting me to eat or move. She finally told me the next time I had eggs, she will be there to help out and protect them so I wouldn't do it alone. Oh, it all changed when she dragged Dear King into it. Although I was against it because me and him fought and I mean we fought a lot. I'm still surprised till this day how calm Mosura was when taking care of him and me and helping out with all the little hatchlings, but somehow she made it work. Anyway, with him around, none of the predators dare to come around. I don't think he knows how many little ones he saved when he was around.

I find it intriguing you talk so highly of him, but would still give him a hard time. He said, smiling.

He knows I care about Mosura so he knows I have to give him a hard time. He gives me a hard time, always calling me names like "Stupid Squid" when I get on his nerves. She laughed.

He joined in with his own deep chuckles only to see him staring at her gently causing both of their laughter to stop. Their eyes lock with him still smiling at her while he continues to pet her shell. The wind started to pick up a little causing the waves to splash against the shore harder and bring in the scent of fresh rain. Behemoth took another big whiff of the rain and let it out slowly. She shifted a bit which made him remove his claws from her shell and tuck it back underneath him, till she was at a better angle to see his face to face. Using one of her tentacles, she started to trace the scratch marks and dents on his left tusk that wasn't covered in vines and moss.

Do you remember how you got these? She asked. Thinking it was rather a stupid question with all the stories he had stored in his mind.

Hard to tell sometimes since a lot of them overlap each other. They were either from playful fighting with my sons, war or fighting off unwanted predators from my Lifemate.

She slightly frowned from the word "Lifemate" because he said it with a hint of sadness in his voice. She can recall Dear King talking about it when he was courting Mosura. His kind mate for life, they would never take another mate unless the other one passed away, but even so it was a rare thing to do. Most of the time when one mate dies, the other one would end up dying later on due to heartbreak because they can't see themselves with another and would rather join their loved ones in death. The thought of that made her eerie and couldn't understand why those kinds of kaijus would put themselves in that situation. It was so much easier being a breeder, no attachments, you can pick and choose suitors and if you don't like them then you can pick another one and in the end, you get eggs and the joy of parenting and when the little ones are old enough, you get to do it all over again. Back to the subject, she realized the reason she was frowning was not from jealousy (she was never the jealous type), but from the feeling of crossing boundaries. Behemoth already belongs to another female even though she's been dead for who knows how long and she felt like she was in unwanted territory.

Lifemate...I find that such a silly word to say out loud.

Oh, how so?

Because I find it hard to believe how a male could pick a female to be with him for the rest of their lives. I mean seeing the same kaiju every single day and night for years and years. Wouldn't you get tired of that and what if she can't bear hatchings or lay eggs? Mates for life, so you can't leave to find a female who can…

If you really love someone, those things wouldn't matter. Some of my pack thought I was crazy for courting my mate after only knowing each other for a day.

That perked her head up a bit. Didn't you think that was rather too fast?

He shook his head, No, because when I saw her trying to find shelter in the rain, I just knew.

The way he said it was so sappy she almost let out a small giggle. He really needs to give Dear King some pointers on how to talk more romantically knowing Mosura loves things like that. The smile faded when she noticed Behemoth lost in his own thoughts with a sad smile on his face.

She trailed her tentacle to the higher part of his tusk to grab his attention, Do you still love and miss her after all these years?

He hesitated to answer her as if he might offend her for still having thoughts about his first love and it wouldn't. It was his Lifemate and the mother of all his children and there was no way she could ever replace that. He cleared his throat, Yes, very much so. Probably due to the way she passed and our last conversation. She was still so young and with me being so much older than her...You would think I would be the one who would get sick, but she was the one who caught this illness and I had to watch this young and beautiful being wilt away while an old male like me stayed perfectly healthy. Despite that, she stayed positive no less, telling me she was going to get better and when she does, she wanted to have another cub as her reward. The last days we had together was her talking about our future little one. How she was hoping for another girl because they were easier to bare than sons. Then one night, she went to sleep, she was so tired and weak, but still had that smile on her face, and never woke up…..

Feeling guilty, she pulled her tentacles away from him, I'm so sorry, Behemoth, I had no right to ask such personal questions.

It's quite alright, my Dear, like I always told Rodan, talking about it helps. And oh boy, you wouldn't believe the stuff that silly bird keeps to himself.

The smile came back on his face and so did hers. She went back to tracing the cracks on his tusks, mainly the long one that went from the sharp point to all the way up the top. I bet that one hurt.

Aw yes, my opponent in that fight was a tough one. Nearly broke it off, but he hesitated. He said, chuckling a bit.

Odd, why would a challenger hold back or hesitate.

Behemoth sighed in a bittersweet tone. He was my eldest son. His last test of independence before venturing off into the real world. What a wonderful day that was, seeing that little cub fully grown and trying to take down his old Sire. It was a rite of passage in my Kind. I told him not to hold back since a true opponent wouldn't and with him being the oldest he had to set an example for all his siblings that were watching.

You should be lucky he did since you would've lost one of your tusks.

It would have grown back eventually. He said, placing his claws on the tusk in question. Trust me it was a lot worse back then than now. It's fully sealed with this shallow crack to remember that day.

You sounded like you were so close to your hatch-I mean cubs. She said, looking up at him.

Of course, I mean weren't you close to your little hatchlings.

That made her mind stop for a split second and she slowly looked away to stare at the ocean and the gray clouds coming closer and closer as they speak. In a motherly way, yes, since my goal was to make sure they survive all the way to adulthood, but to be close to each and every one of them? No….there were simply too many to do such a thing. That's just the quirks of being a Breeder, just to make sure we raise the next generation of strong, healthy squid kaijus. I would lay nearly a hundred eggs, but would only see maybe a dozen or two fully grown in the end. We don't even pick names for the newborn, it would make it too personal and emotional if they end up dying from other predators or unfortunate events. Normally they get to choose their own names when they get older. Sounds terrible, huh? She asked.

He thought about it then slowly shook his head. I can't really say, what's odd to me is normal to you.

I guess we're just really different from each other, don't you think? She asked, feeling like reality hit her with that statement.

Perhaps, but it just makes you more interesting. It's never a dull moment with you and that is why I adore you.

She blushed and had a hard time staring at him all of a sudden. There was a low thunder and the next thing she knew it started to rain. Behemoth let out a small hum and lifted his head up so the cold rain could hit his face and let it soak deep into his fur. The rain was simply bouncing off her hard skin and shell, but she didn't mind. My, my, let's just hope it doesn't get any worse.

We will be fine. So tell me more about your hatchlings, can you remember a time when they were acting out or being mischievous.

She shook her head to get rid of the water running down into her eyes and she giggled. They weren't all bad, though I can remember one particular batch that loved to give Dear King a hard time. Always staring at him, biting and climbing on his back and sometimes stealing his food. Boy, I lost count how many times he would tell me or Dear Queen he would eat them if they didn't leave him alone, but I knew it was just him trying to be scary. Oh my, there was this one time, one of my hatchlings ran off and Mosura took off to go find him and she ended up bumping into one of Dear King's old pack members and…..

0000000

She ended up losing track of time from their never ending conversations because the next thing she knew it was dark and the rain wasn't letting up. It was actually getting worse to the point the ocean waves were crashing against the shoreline. Despite this, Behemoth was in a very happy mood, he didn't care that his fur was drenched and covered in a few tree bits thanks to the wind. Sadly, while he was enjoying the rain, she was having a hard time talking and keeping her head up due to the raindrops getting into her eyes. It was the constant feeling of getting poked and forcing her to blink every second.

Are you alright? Behemoth asked.

Yes, the rain is just annoying. Maybe we should go somewhere else just to get out of it?

Nonsense, I've seen worse storms than this so we will be fine. Plus...He trailed off and the next thing she felt was his claws on her shell again and gently pushing her forward. Her eyes shot open when she felt half of her body moving across his tusks till her face was nearly pressed against his wet fur. The rain stopped hitting her and could feel something hovering above her. She looked up to see Behemoth looking down at her with a smile. He was using his body to block out the rain for her….well, her head at least. The rest of her body was still getting hit with those raindrops. Now she was turning burning red from the sudden closeness and from his scent being mixed around with the fresh rain smell….it's not that hard for me to block the rain for you. Better?

She couldn't breath all of a sudden and silently told herself to calm down, don't do anything silly or you might regret it. And if you can't, then you need to leave right now. Yes, but I really...She pulled away from him, seeing his smile turn into a disappointed frown, and got up from the wet dirt….should be heading home. My companion won't admit it, but she does get a little jumpy when I'm not around her.

Are you sure? He asked, getting up himself. Towering her with his huge height.

She nodded, Yes, it's been fun, but I should be going. She said, turning around to head towards the ocean.

...Wait….She heard him whisper.

The way he said it made her stop dead in her tracks. She turned back around to face him and his nervous look. What is it?

He cleared his throat and slowly shuffled his claws in the dirt to ease his nervousness. You don't have to go. I would love it if you stay. I don't want you swimming in this weather.

She swallowed the lump in her throat when he took a few steps towards her. Thanks, but I can handle the rain. It's not a big deal.

Alright, but can you stay for me? He asked with a small smile. To be honest I'm not ready to part from you yet.

She felt like she couldn't move her legs as he closed the gap between them and made her feel so small once again due to his height. Behemoth...I really shouldn't…my companion tends to get into a lot of mischief at night if I don't keep an eye on her….Which was partly true, and most of the time she tends to ignore the Muto's wild behavior, but she just needed an excuse to leave.

Trust me I know the feeling, but I'm sure she will be alright, I mean how much trouble can one kaiju get into in one night.

The rampage she committed during the False King's ruling came into mind. The night Mosura spent with Rodan came into mind. Keeping Dear King from doing something horrible to Mosura while she was in her egg came into mind. So yeah, a lot can happen in one night including something now if she stays any longer. Having him close to her and his pleading words were not helping either. If you know the feeling then you should-

He bent his knees down and pressed his forehead against hers and everything around her stopped dead in their tracks in her opinion. His wet fur was soft and cool and was making her body warm and tingle. She took a deep breath while telling herself to take it easy, you have more self-control than this, do you really want the Muto to be right about you? He started to nuzzle her, it was so easy for his fur to glide across the top of her head thanks to the rain and let out a low rumble.

Stay...He whispered…

Her tentacles started to curl up tight to keep herself from doing anything. The Muto's awful word playing in her head about not having control over herself. No matter how hard she tries to resist she can't fight off those breeding urges forever. It was in her nature, her need to breed and darn it he was making the moment right and catching her off guard.

She suddenly felt his warm mouth on her forehead and him planting a soft kiss on it. It was nice and wet and she couldn't stop herself from returning the affection by letting her tentacles spread out with some curling around his tusks and some gripping onto his facial fur. She was losing this battle, but will not give up. She didn't want him to think breeders were just some sex-crazed creeps. Please stay...there's something I need to ask-

Lost in a deep trance, her strong instincts took over and she crashed her mouth against his before he could finish his sentence. Whatever romantic plan he had in mind was quickly thrown out because her powerful kiss caught him off guard by the way he tensed up against her. The grip she had on his fur and tusks tightened as she started to rattle her shell and pull her mouth away to make a few cooing sounds.

The freaked out look on his face made her want him more and he was a little speechless. Scylla, that was intense, but-

She cooed again and pressed her body firmly against him which pushed him closer to the ground. It can get even more intense. She whispered to him.

He laughed nervously, My Dear, I don't want you to think my intentions was to-

No need, I'm up for a mating dance...She whispered, sounding a little buzz. Yeah, she completely lost control in this situation. The only thing going through her mind was to breed. There's a male full of seed right in front of her and she wants it. She didn't care if it was impossible to make eggs since he was a mammal, it was her impulses talking, not her-

Scylla…? He asked, getting a little weird out by her behavior.

I've never done It on land before so if you want you can take the lead….She said, rattling her body again. Her Kind's way to grab a male's attention and get things started.

Wait, wait, I'm flattered, really I am, but you look a little off at the moment. He said, picking himself up from the ground, but that didn't stop her from pressing herself harder against him, literally burying herself in that wet fur and that wonderful scent of his.

I'm fine….don't tell me you never thought about going this far with me?

He blushed and looked away to hide how bashful he was getting, For once I don't know how to answer that, but-

Grabbing his tusks again she started to pull him towards the ocean, Please don't ruin the moment, follow me into the ocean and I'll let you have me. How long can you hold your breath?

He dug his claws into the ground and tried to get her to stop walking. My Dear….

Don't talk, just go with it. I know it might not work but, if there's a slim chance for me to get eggs I want to try it.

Scylla! He called out to her, confused.

It was the first time she ever heard him raise his voice, but it was enough to snap her out of her trance and she quickly pulled herself away from him and tried to calm her nerves. The rain around them lower down to a soft drizzle and she can hear the rumbling sounds of thunder. She looked at Behemoth who had this confused yet concerned look on his face and she realized what she tried to do.

He cleared his throat, Are you Ok?, He asked while stroking his tusk with his claws.

She blushed big time and felt a little hurt from acting like a fool and him politely rejecting her. Though she shouldn't feel upset about that since he most likely did it out of respect while other males would take any opportunity to get laid. Still she was embarrassed no less from her "horny" behavior. She turned around so he wouldn't see the tears forming in her eyes, how could she look at him the same way again….how could he look at her the same way most importantly. I need to get out of here. I'm sorry. She said, heading over to the ocean.

Wait, Please don't take that as some rejection, you weren't acting like yourself and I didn't want to take advantage of that.

She didn't want to hear his explanation and picked up her pace.

Scylla, my Dear, stop.

She could hear and feel his heavy footsteps getting closer to her even though she was already in the shallow part of the ocean. It wasn't till she felt his large claws landing gently on her shell when she came to a halt and just stood there. Too ashamed to look at him and kept her head down where all she could see was the water and the rain falling into it.

Scylla…

Don't...She said, Don't apologize, don't be polite about this either. I just made a fool out of myself and tried to use you for my own gain. You need to be mad about this!

I'm not, you just caught me off guard, and again I wasn't implying that when I asked you to stay. I'm a gentlemale and as silly as it sounds I don't go out there and have random matings, I court the female first before claiming her as my own.. I just wanted more time with you.

That just makes what I try to do sound worse!

How so?

She hissed out of frustration and turned around to face him. You just don't get it! Why is it so hard for you to see what Rodan saw, or Dear King or even Methuselah that I was trying to use you to get eggs because that's what breeders do. We use males so we can have hatchlings. Why do you think I've been so standoffish with you or didn't want nothing to do with you the first time you asked Mosura to have me come see you. Dammit Behemoth, the only reason I came to see you in the first place so I can get Rodan to leave me alone, I try to break it off with you over and over again, but I couldn't bare the thought of hurting you that way because you don't deserve that type of treatment. Now the tears were coming and she was so angry and embarrassed at herself.

Scylla….

Stop being so nice about this! I'm not that sweet and lovely kaiju you think I am. I like you, that I know for sure, but it's hard for me to look at you when all I see is what you can give me. All I see is a male full of seed. How could you like me knowing what I really am?

Because I fell for you the minute I saw you in that damaged city…

Well that threw her off completely...Pardon?

He smiled nervously, That's what I wanted to talk to you about. Scylla, there's nothing you can do or be that will ever make me think low of you. Call me old fashioned and a hopeless romantic because I do believe in love at first sight and that night even though the world was going downhill and ruled by the False King, I have to say, the only good thing that came out of it was discovering you. The sound of your voice, your politeness and caring way you have towards others just filled my heart with joy. And even though we were around each for that day, I just knew I wanted to know more about you and be with you.

She shook her head, No you don't mean that.

Yes I do. Even after being away from you for years, I couldn't get you out of my mind and would wish upon the stars to see you one more time. You say you don't like Rodan, well I owe a lot of things to him just like he said he does to me. If he didn't bring the Queen over here that one day after saving her life I would have lost that opportunity to see you again. Did you know I didn't ask him to go over there to talk to you? He did that on his own because he knew how much it would mean to me just to see you again. And I know you and I had a few bumps along the way, but I wouldn't change a thing. They say you can only have one true love in your lifetime and for a while I believe that after my mate passed away, but now I can see how wrong I was.

Now she was getting nervous and had a very bad feeling.

Despite the rain and the gloomy atmosphere around them, with a soft smile on his face he kneel down to her till their forehead touch just like before. I love you Scylla, and with the Queen's blessing, I wish to court you.

Her head flew back and took a few steps away from him with this shock look on her face. The sudden move nearly made him fall over, but he quickly picked himself up. The look on his face said it all, that wasn't the reaction he was expecting, but he plastered a fake smile no less. She can now see why Dear King ran off when Mosura confessed her love to him eons ago because she suddenly had the urge to take off and not look back. Yet, she also remembers watching Mosura sob uncontrollably in the rain from the harsh rejection. Not caring about her seeing her in such a complete mess and covered in mud and blood. Wait….the Queen's blessing….her friend knew about this?! Oh she was going to talk to her about this later, but right now….he loves you?….She knew he was smitten and she liked him too, but to be courted?

She guessed too much time past, because the smile on his face started to fade slowly. My Dear, Are you-

No….She said, plain and simple. There was no thought into it. No hesitation, but she was crying no less because she knew she was going to hurt him. Really really badly, but she just didn't feel the same way...right?

She could literally see his heart smashing into little tiny pieces from that one simple word. He didn't even try to smile anymore, he just had this deep frown and sad eyes. No?

No...She repeated. You and I are way too different and after my behavior I just portray in front of you, I can't see you anymore.

I don't care what just happened. I love you-

Stop saying that! It's only going to hurt you more.

Are you saying you have no feelings for me at all?

I like you, but we don't believe in love.

But I'm not asking your entire species, my Dear, I'm asking you. All the time we've been spending together, you weren't feeling the same way I did?

She started to walk backwards, she just wanted to get away and not see his hurt face anymore.

Please don't walk away. I know you're scared, but so am I.

Stop following me! She said, in a hurt and frustrating tone. She didn't mean to sound so harsh, but she just wanted to leave. I said No….I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same way about you.

She turned around, already regretting those words coming out of her mouth, but it was too late and with that she dove into the water and took off home and didn't bother to look back...

~I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house

That don't bother me

I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out

I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while

Even though going on with you gone still upsets me

There are days every now and again I pretend I'm okay

But that's not what gets me...~

The sun was barely coming up when she made it home, but at least where she lived the sky was clear, but it didn't clear the dark storm brewing in her mind and heart. She took a deep breath and looked over at her companion's nest to find it empty and she raised a brow. Odd, the Muto was not a morning kaiju so where in the world could she be? She shook her head as a way of telling herself not to care, since she was exhausted and needed to sleep off this horrible feeling in her. With that in mind, she walked over to her nest, got herself in a comfortable position and went to sleep. Yet, she slept uneasily because the scene of her rejecting Behemoth's proposal wouldn't stop playing in her mind and she couldn't look away from that heartbreaking look on his face. She didn't know how long she was asleep when she heard footsteps and grunting noises coming close by and she opened her eyes to see what was making that noise.

She nearly jumped up from her nest when she spotted the Muto limping her way out of the ocean with water and blood leaking down from her beat-up face and scratched up body. The scar where her eye used to be was sliced open with some inner flesh dangling out of it as well as blood dripping down. The other side of her face as well as a few parts of her body looked like it got burned because there were small bubbles of pus and raw open wounds on them. There were large puncture wounds all over her chest that were slowly bleeding thanks to the ocean reopening them.

Oh my goodness! What in the world happened to you! She shouted, while walking over to her.

The Muto responded by spitting a large wad of saliva and blood in front of her before letting her tongue dangle out of her mouth. Her tongue was swollen and nearly cut all the way through with jagged teeth-like marks on them. She growled to herself, That fucking Bastard bites hard.

What? She asked, confused.

Nothing, I'm going to sleep. She said, limping her way over to her nest.

I think we need to check those wounds before you go to sleep. I mean I'm sure the swim over here wasn't pleasant due to the water being salty.

What part of "I'm going to sleep" did you not understand. She hissed. Clearly in a very bad mood and in a lot of pain.

She looked at the parasite, examining the wounds in great detail and realized they were battle injuries and she freaked, Oh kaiju, don't tell me you tried to do something with Dear King again?

The Muto started to laugh, spraying the air and her with a red mist. Oh Scylla...that's funny...I really needed that laugh, but no. If I did I would either be dead or gave our King a proper lay.

She cringed, Muto, I'm not in the mood for your rather...blunt speech…

The Muto collapsed in her nest and started to maw on her burn wound to pop the bubbles full of pus. Well you were the one who asked. She said.

She shook her head and wanted to drop it, but she was curious about the Muto's wounds, especially her eye one. It was badly scarred before, but now it looked like someone reached in and scooped out a large portion of meat in hope she would bleed to death. How she made it home was a miracle in her opinion. So what happened?

The Muto sighed, clearly irritated. Might as well say it since I'm sure you'll be hearing it from that Clueless Pile of Fur. When you left yesterday, I decided to go out and do something out of boredom. I ended up spotting that little fiery Asshole flying over to an abandoned city. So I decided to see what he was up to.

Let me guess, you couldn't keep your mouth shut around him and pissed him off, didn't you?

No, I simply told him some truthful things and he flipped out. That stupid bird was over there looking for flowers he wanted to give to that Little Tart and her brat. He didn't want to hear what I had to say so he attacked me and I fought back. He gouged my eye out and I kicked him so hard between the legs he ended up blacking out. She started to laugh, He was so out of it due to blood loss, he thought me and him had sex.

Not an image I wanted to see in my head, but is he alright? She asked, knowing very well if this gets back to Behemoth or Mosura they're not going to be happy about this.

The Muto pulled a large piece of metal out of her arm causing blood to squirt out from the wound and threw it to the ground. Yeah, yeah, he's fine, I swear I don't think there's anything on this earth that can kill that piece of shit. He should be back home with his wounds and crushed pride. I won that fight and sooner or later he'll thank me for bending him over and spanking some sense into him.

Perhaps you need to control that mouth of yours since it seems to be getting you in a lot of trouble. First with Dear Queen, then Dear King and now Rodan….I mean who's next on your list...Behemoth...Methuselah?

It wouldn't be a fair fight with Behemoth since he would just bored me to death from his endless chattering so I could go after the Dumb Rock instead if I get really bored again.

You really need to find something else to do beside upsetting our fellow kaijus. She said only to gag in disgust when the Muto spit another phlegm of blood and spit.

Speaking of violence and sex, how did YOUR night go with the "Gentle Giant?" The Muto asked with a sly, bloody grin.

The events of last night replay in her mind again and she lowered her head and frowned. This is something she did not want to discuss with the Muto, but sadly, the parasite would understand it better than Mosura would.

Seriously Scylla I'm about to pass out due to blood loss and exhaustion so I don't have all day to play the guessing game. She said, looking a little woozy.

She held her head up high and put on a brave face. What's to tell, I broke it off with him and told him I never want to see him again.

She forgot the Muto can read kaijus like clear water because she wasn't buying her lie for a second. Oh fuck, you did it, didn't you? You went after him for his seed, right?!

So much for sleeping all day to escape, I'm heading out. I need to check up on Dear Queen and little Azure. She said, turning away from her.

You don't look so happy, was it that bad or did his old age made it rather difficult to perform? The Muto laughed while trying to pick herself up from her nest.

She just kept walking since she was in no mood for the Muto's heckling and trash-talking.

Come on Scylla, don't be this way. I just beat up the fire demon and this juicy story will make this the best day of my life! I told you you had no self-control! You could at least humor me about it?

I'm leaving, please don't bleed all over the grass. She said, heading back into the ocean.

Why are you so upset about it, You told me yourself you didn't want any relationship with him. Stop being such a dramatic bitch!

Even underwater she can still hear Muto's annoying voice. She really hopes those wounds get an infection…

~what hurts the most was being so close

And having so much to say

And watching you walk away

And never knowing what could've been

And not seeing that loving you

Is what I was trying to do..~

After Scylla left, he stayed in the shallow water for hours, unable to move from his spot or even try to. For once, he didn't know what to do since he never experienced rejection this high before in his life. Not that he would put himself up there when it comes to his ego, but was well-liked by a lot of kaijus that he never thought any of them could hurt him the way she did. It was the brightness of the morning sun peaking out of the clouds that finally snapped him out of his daze and decided to get out of the water and try to find something to eat. Though after a while with him staring down at the plants he found, he realized he wasn't even hungry….he just felt like his stomach and chest was in a very tight knot and the sudden need to scream came into mind. He was about to do it too when he saw something bright and orange flying over to his land.

Next thing he knew he watched Rodan crashing down to the ground all beat up and bloody and just lay there. How bad was it for him to say he's not even surprised anymore knowing the type of kaiju Rodan is to see him like this. He sighed, not in a mood to voice his concern like he normally does and walked over to him. Up close, he can see puncture wounds all over his body, with a huge one on his wing that still had blood leaking out. The right side of his face was swollen and he had red blood all over his mouth and claw. For a second he thought Rodan black out again till the fire demon raised his head to spit out a bundle of half burnt plants from his mouth before resting his head on the ground again.

Taking a seat next to his bloody friend, he slightly nudged him which caused Rodan to open the eye that wasn't swollen shut. Bad night? He asked while staring out at the ocean. A bad habit he got himself into when it came to waiting for Scylla to visit him.

What makes you say that? He asked, weakly.

Him and that smart-mouth of his, he thought. You're covered in blood and wounds.

Rodan groaned and picked himself up from the ground and the next thing he knew he could feel his Companion's warm body leaning against him. Already getting soak from his hot blood. I don't want to talk about it.

Which is fine with him because his chest was hurting so badly he felt like he couldn't talk anyway. Fair enough….He said quietly

He could feel the tension in the air and could hear Rodan shifting. I think I'm still bleeding….which is a true statement since now his skin was burning...I'm surprised I didn't die. He had a feeling Rodan knew there was something bothering him because it was taking him a hard time to respond to him. The fire demon cleared his throat, So how was your night?

His night? Everything about last night didn't make sense to him. One minute they were having wonderful conversations in the rain, then she tried to...well...seduce him then he confessed his love and proposed to her only to be shot down and left broken. I...don't want to talk about it….He said, lowering his head. He felt so numb all of a sudden. He heard Rodan click his tongue, Then we won't. He said and patted his arm.

He cleared his throat and decided to change the subject. So I heard you were summoned by the Queen to see the heir...are you going to go?

Sure….Rodan said, and he looked down to see him drifting off to sleep again….I just need a quick nap…

And clean yourself up as well…

And clean myself up as well and then I'll go...Rodan said, before passing out.

It wasn't till he heard the fire demon's calm breathing when he spoke up. I...told her I loved her...and asked her if I could court her…..He closed his eyes, refusing to cry….she said No….

~It's hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go

But I'm doing it

It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friend and I'm alone

Still harder getting up, getting dressed, living with this regret

But I know if I could do it over

I would trade, give away all the words that I saved in my heart

That I left unspoken..~

Mosura stared at her with her mouth slightly ajar from what she told her. In the background, she could see Dear King getting playfully attacked by the little Prince. He's been trying to teach Azure how to walk, but Azure had a different plan in mind. Every time Dear King would use his snout to prop Azure to his feet, he would take the chance to scratch and bite his Sire's mouth and snout. Dear King couldn't help, but grin from his son's poor attempt to inflict pain on him before letting out a large snort that made Azure fall down on his back. Such a serious little hatchling because he didn't laugh or smile, he just got up and made a loud squeaky growl at Dear King.

You did what? Mosura asked, dumbfounded.

She sighed, I lost control of the situation...I...I...I don't know what's worse...that I tried to seduce him….or him rejecting my advances.

Looks like someone lost a bet, my Queen. Dear King said, trying so hard not to laugh.

THIS IS NOT FUNNY, YOU STUPID, FAT LIZARD! She snapped and boy, did she regret it the second it came out of her mouth, but she was so angry, and frustrated and she couldn't get Behemoth's broken face out of her mind.

His plates started to glow and his tail began to whip around violently. You have some nerve, you think you can come over here and talk to me like that!

Calm down, both of you….Dear Queen said, using her wings to keep them apart….just calm down….we have the little one here after all and I don't want to scare him.

She's the one yelling and for what? She's been telling you she didn't want anything with the Chatterbox so why the drama!?

Because I don't understand the humor in this. You've been making snide remarks about this since day one and I'm sick of it! She shouted. Boy did this bring back memories when the King wasn't the King, but just Gojira and when they fought, they would fight.

Don't get mad at me because you were too "Sweet" and "Lovely" just to be straight with him. How hard was it just to tell him you only saw him as a male full of-

Will you stop using that term, it's bad enough I hear it from the Muto all the time! She yelled back. It's bad enough she used that term to explain it to Behemoth.

Scylla. My King...can we please calm down. Dear Queen said as softly as possible. I don't want a fight to break out.

Well it's the fucking truth, isn't it! Dear King shouted.

Language! Dear Queen said

Something in her broke and she started to bite down on her tentacles to keep her from screaming. It doesn't matter anymore because I told him I didn't want to see him anymore. It's done, alright. Do you want to laugh at me about that as well!

Azure started to whine and started to tug on Dear Queen's wing for attention. The King shifted his head over to the little Prince and picked him off with his mouth and placed him down in front of Mosura. I'm going to grab some food for him, YOU need to fix this! He said to Mosura while pointing at her as "This."

They stayed silent with the exception of Azure whining for food which Mosure tried to comfort by grooming his face with her tongue. She waited patiently till Azure's cries were tamed and went back to his little serious self again. Which included him giving her that stare again while clutching onto Mosura's fur. Mosura cleared her throat, Did you really tell him you didn't want to see him anymore?

She nodded while lying down next to her.

Just because of what you tried to do? I'm sure he's not going to hold that against you…

She sighed and wiped her face with her tentacles, Mosura….he told me he loved me….he proposed to me….and all I was thinking about was just getting eggs again. I knew he liked me, shoot, even Methuselah told me he was crazy about me, but I didn't want to believe it, I didn't think he had those strong feelings for me.

Oh Scylla….I don't know what to say about that….

She glared at her, You should say something. You knew how he felt this entire time. He told me he asked you for your blessing. You knew he was going to ask me if he could court me, but you kept it from me.

I didn't think it was my place to tell you and when I tried to, Dear King told me not to because he knew you will flip out. I don't get it, you look like you were having a fun time being around him for the last couple of weeks…

That doesn't mean I was falling for him…

You could've fooled me…

No, it wouldn't work out, I told him that. I told him how could he look at me the same way knowing I tried to use him. Knowing I couldn't see him as him, but just...the term Dear King used.

She could hear Mosura sighed, Did you at least let him down gently?

I hurt him, Mosura, I just kept telling him No to his proposal and left him. I didn't know how else to handle it, no male ever told me he loved me so...I didn't know how else to handle it….I didn't….

Hey, hey, hey, it's OK. Just breathe, my friend. Mosura said, I know it hurts, but if this is what you want , we will get past it.

You're not going to lecture me about it? She asked.

Though I am heartbroken for Behemoth, at least you were honest with him and if you don't want to see him again, I'll support you. And if you change your mind and go back to see him, I'll support you on that as well. Just tell me what you want to do…

Can we just drop the subject and not talk about it for a while, please. She pleaded.

Alright, if that's what you want. Mosura said.

Yes, She said, while caressing Azure's face which he tried to bite back in return. She sighed and Mosura extended her claw out which she wrapped her tentacle around to form a connection.

It's going to be OK. Mosura said, giving her a sad smile.

Will it?...

And watching you walk away

And never knowing what could've been

Is what I was trying to do, Oh..~

(Two days later…)

Are you sure you don't want to wait another day or so before going over there? He asked his Fire Companion who was getting ready to fly off to see the Queen and the new heir.

Well, it's now or never I always say, plus any longer these flowers are going to die. Rodan said, looking up at him.

I'm just saying, first impressions are the main key when it comes to meeting a new kaiju and having punctured holes, cracks and a swollen eye wouldn't be my idea as a good impression. He said, staring at Rodan's right eye. It was still puffy, but not as bad as it was two days ago, but what was really concerning him was what Rodan said about it. Apparently, he can't see anything out of the eye, but blotchy colors which was making it hard for him to fly right.

What? You think my appearance is going to scare the little brat?

More like our Lovely Queen might ask questions. He said, sadly, And since you refuse to tell me what happened to receive these injuries I'm sure you really don't want her to know as well.

Rodan crossed his wings and just stared at him. Don't lecture me about keeping things since you won't tell me why you've been so moody ever since I got back. He said while tilting his head to the right.

He sighed and just stared at the wet sand beneath his claws. The memory of Scylla rejecting his proposal was still playing over and over in his head.

Behemoth? He looked up a little bit to see Rodan jumping up so he could sit on his tusk. Seriously, what's wrong….did you and the squid have a fight or something?

He exhaled, To be honest I'm still trying to figure it out myself. He said quietly.

So what happened? He asked again.

He was a little surprised by Rodan's tone because he sounded like he was really worried about him and not just looking for a story he can make fun of him later on. It's a little embarrassing to say-

Hey I told you a lot of stuff I did in my life that was embarrassing so like you said, I'm not going to judge. '

Yes you will and you know you will, but that's beside the point. I really don't want to talk about it, but Miss Scylla made it very clear she doesn't want to see me again. So what's done is done, my friend.

If that's the case, you don't seem to be taking it well.

I'm fine, really I am. He said, putting on a force smile.

You sure about that? You've been very quiet and that's saying something since it normally takes me hours to shut you up. Plus I lost count on how many times I would see you stare out at the ocean so spill it. He said.

He didn't want to because he had a bad feeling, if he started talking about it he might break down so instead he just put on a bigger smile and said. No more stalling, no doubt the Queen is waiting for you.

Rodan stared at him again and clicked his tongue. Behemoth, you know it's OK to be angry about it sometimes. I mean it just seems unfair to be treated poorly and expect to be Ok with it.

I rarely get angry, my Fellow and I don't intend to start now.

Rodan shrugged. Alright, if you say so.

How about this, after your little visit then we can sit down and talk. Deal?

The fire demon nodded, I guess I'll see you later then. He said, spreading out his wings.

Oh and Rodan, please be on your best behavior over there…

Now what does that suppose to mean? He asked, slightly offended.

Well, I just don't want you to have a bad reaction just like that last time. He said, referring to his breakdown that led to him burning down a mile worth of trees and greenery and that was from finding out about the Queen's pregnancy.

Rodan looked at him dully, The squid told you what it is, didn't she?

He nodded.

And you're not going to tell me either, right?

He shook his head, I'm sorry, but no. Why ruin the surprise or prevent you from going over there. But I can give you some advice.

Which is? He asked.

When you see the hatchling, take a deep breath and let it out slowly. You don't want to react poorly around the Queen. She loves her hatchling dearly and the last thing you want to do is freak out from its appearance. So deep breath, relax and be mature about it. And most of all, keep your fire temper under control.

Rodan rolled his eyes. Is that all?

I'm being serious here, Rodan. If it help don't see the hatchling as the King's heir, but as Mosura's child. If you really love her, you will be happy for her because no doubt, if she really loves you, your opinion will matter the most and she will be hurt all over again if you don't approve.

His wings slumped and he looked away. Well if you put it that way. I won't let you down. He said, a little unsure.

I trust you and good luck. Behemoth said and flicked his tusks up to throw Rodan into the air.

Flapping his wings, Rodan lowered himself down to grab the bundle of flowers and vines before flying up into the air once again. He gave him a quick nod before flying off and leaving him alone to deal with unlovely thoughts. He laid himself down and tuck his legs and arms under him and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes, his thoughts returning to Scylla again and he exhaled.

~What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts

(Meanwhile…)

So how long is he going to stay mad at me? She asked while looking at her friend who was making funny sounds to the Little Prince.

After that outburst and fight with Dear King, he kept his distance from her for the last two days which was fine with her at first, but now the tension was getting to her. She told Mosura she didn't want to go home because of the Muto being in a nagging mood so Mosura told her she was welcome to stay on their island as long as she wanted (despite Dear King's protest). Plus it was helping Mosura out to have another pair of eyes on Azure since the boy was having a hard time sleeping through the night. He just had too much energy to settle down and sleep so of course it was throwing off the Royal couple's sleep cycle as well. And they weren't kidding either. The first night she was here the second they all closed their eyes, Azure would start crying for attention and not just from one parent, but from both of them. Hours of playing and cooing the little one to sleep didn't help and when he finally did take a nap, he was up and recharge after only an hour.

While it was making the King rather grumpy from not getting enough sleep, Mosura was a little more patient about it, but due to her motherly experienced it was only a matter of time before her little friend felt the sleep deprived mood. She, on the other hand, couldn't really complain, she was taking care of a young one, it was in her nature and very well-missed, and it was keeping her distracted from unwanted feelings that were hurting her chest and head.

Come on, little one, can you smile for your mommy. Mosura said, smiling at the Prince.

Sitting in front of the Queen with his tail wagging, the Prince blinked at her before letting out a high pitch growl. Baring his little teeth.

Mosure giggled, Sooo serious, just like your Sire, but even he would smile sometimes.

Once every million years or so. She said, rolling her eyes. Mosura, are you even listening to me?

I am and I wouldn't worry about my King, you know how he gets when he's in one of his moods. Just give him time.

I don't think he likes the fact I'm staying here for a while.

Well, all the times we settle down with your pack during times of need, it's my turn to return the favor. Mosura said, smiling up at her.

And I will forever appreciate it. She said and noticed Azure staring at her again with those glowing blue eyes. Her eyes narrowed a bit from the staring going on and on. Seriously, what's with the staring?

Maybe he likes you? Mosura said, giving the Prince a small nuzzle.

He was giving her the "Stupid Squid" look again. Sure…..She said, frowning.

Suddenly Mosura's eyes started to glow and let out a small "ow" while her antennas twitched wildly. My King is in distress. She said, rubbing her head with her claw.

She looked over at the King who stopped swimming around the island and lowered himself down into the water to where only his spikes were showing. They started to pulse his bright blue hue. What's going on? She asked.

Mosura took a deep breath and pulled the Prince close to her fluffy chest. He didn't protest, welcoming her embrace by curling up against her as much as possible. Rodan is coming. She said, calmly with a little hint of nervousness.

Sure enough when she looked at the sky, she could see Rodan flying (rather clumsily) over to where they were. She couldn't help, but smirk a little to see how this was going to play out and to see what sort of damage her Parasite Companion did to him. For a moment she thought about the Muto and hoped she was taking her time to lick her wound and sleep off the pain instead of getting into more trouble. Well, this should be interesting….She said….Should I leave?

Mosura shook her head, No, you can stay if you want, but if you don't want to be near him you can keep my King company.

Hmm, what is the lesser of two evils? She said, sarcastically.

Scylla? Mosura questioned her for her poor joke.

Sorry, I don't mean to make it sound like in poor tast-

Her sentence was interrupted when Rodan landed near them, releasing a small burst of flames and smoke. Typical males always have to make a grand entrance, but sure enough it got Mosura's and the Little Prince's attention. As well as the King from the low pulsing sounds she can hear a mile away. Her eyes narrow from the sight in front of her. Plucking strange flowers and plants from his beak with his claws, Rodan bow down while holding the flowers in front of Mosura and the little Prince. She only made it to the count of three when his eyes locked with Mosura's only to glance down to see Azure looking at him curiously.

As if everything came to a halt, that cocky smile of his dropped and somehow he made the plants in his claws catch on fire. Mosura flinch from the light show and she couldn't help, but shake her head. Talk about a bad first impression. All was quiet and for a moment, she really thought the firebird blew it and most likely hurt Mosura's feelings from his reaction till they heard tiny snickers coming from the Prince.

Mosura looked down to see the Prince playing with the burnt plants and ashes that fell on his head and shoulders. Shocker, he has the same mocking laughter like his Sire. Rodan was clearly dumbfounded by this sudden turn of events and she was just waiting for something to come out of Mosura's mouth. Finally, Mosura let out a thrillful giggle. Oh Kaiju, Rodan, do you know how long I've been trying to get him to laugh, and you manage to do it in a split second! She said while bending down to brush the leftover burnt plants off the little Prince. That's Rodan for you, he's a very odd yet charming kaiju.

Rodan stared at the little Prince with this bittersweet look before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He let it out slowly, Well, at least somebody finds this funny. You have no idea what I went through to grab those flowers.

I could take a lucky guess. She said, with a smug look. There were puncture wounds on his wing and around his neck with bright orange cracks all over his body. A great sign he took a lot of hits and blows from the Muto, but what really caught her attention was the swollen eye on his face.

His yellow eyes darted over to her with a look that read "Shut your freakin mouth."

Well, it's the thought that counts and they were beautiful before they burst into flames. Mosura said, smiling. And oddly familiar?

Rodan sighed, I wouldn't worry too much about it. They were just blue flowers. He said, but for some reason she felt like there was more to his story than what he was leading on.

So Rodan, what's with the beat-up face? Had a bad night? She asked.

Mosura couldn't help herself, but turned her attention to Dear King over this.

Dear King's head popped out of the water. Don't look at me that way, I had nothing to do with that. He probably got it from Methuselah.

Smoke started to fester out of his wings and he gave her a very ugly glare. I could ask you the same thing since Behemoth is too much in a depressing mood to talk.

She could literally feel her face burning up and the tension in the air as they gave each other the death glare. Mosura cleared her throat, Please don't start you two. She pleaded.

Very well. She said, taking a few steps back to give Mosura and Rodan some space. She laid down far enough for them to talk, but was still able to hear them loud and clear. Her eyes trail over to the ocean to see Dear King keeping his distance as well, but from the looks of it, he was communicating with Mosura and no doubt she was just soothing him to stay calm and to make sure he does not intervene.

She had to say, it was quite speechless how well Rodan was taking it. She really thought he was going to freak out or burn down the island just like he did to Behemoth's home. She did have a strong feeling Behemoth was behind Rodan's calm demeanor. She leaned her head forward to get a better look and hearing.

The Little Prince was very curious about Rodan's wing by the way he was trying to touch them with his tiny claws, but Rodan quickly lifted his wing up so he wouldn't get burned.

I think somebody likes your wings? Mosura giggled.

At least he has his mother's great taste in things. He said, in a bittersweet tone. Like it was taking everything in his power not to say anything drastic. So what's his name?

Oh, my apology, I got distracted from his snickering. She cleared her throat, Rodan, I would like you to meet my little Prince….Azure.

He was still trying to touch Rodan's wing to the point he stood on his feet with his claws reaching out only to fall forward, Rodan calmly grabbed him by the loose skin on the back of his neck with two of his nails. Named after the color of your eyes, not bad at all. He said, putting Azure down in a sitting position. Azure tried to bite his claw, but that didn't faze the fire demon. Don't even think about it, little one. You might break your teeth or burn your mouth.

Azure growled at him playfully before giving him the same annoying look he would give to her all the time. Mosura smiled at him, clearly very happy this little visit was going smoothly.

You know I was really surprised you wanted me to come over to see him.

Well, I want all the kaiju to meet their future King, but I wanted you and Scylla to be the first ones since you two are very important to me.

Oh she really wished Mosura didn't put Rodan in the same category with her. I mean come on, they've been best friends for millions of years which was much, much longer when compared to Rodan.

Is that it, you just want me to meet him? He asked, with his eyes looking over at Dear King in the ocean. She knew the last thing Rodan wanted to do was bow to the King again.

Mosura frowned a bit, The thing is….my King just wanted to make sure you kneel to him and see him as your future alpha...though I had to reword a few things since his speech was a little more harsh.

I'm sure. He said, using his claw to tilt up Azure's head as his way to examine him. Scylla was right, he is a very healthy hatchling. You did good, Mosura, you should be proud of yourself.

I am...I'm really happy. She said, smiling at him.

He smiled back at her even though it looked half-hearted in her opinion. No doubt this was killing him on the inside. They stayed quiet with him still playing with Azure and Mosura observing.

So, could you see him as our future King? She asked in a whispered tone. Probably nervous to hear his answer.

He sighed and looked deep into her eyes. Mosura,...He said before looking over at the King in the ocean and over at her as if to make sure what he was about to say was only for Mosura's hearing...You know how I feel about you. Don't ever think I won't be here if you need me and that goes as well with this smaller version of the King. I'll make sure to keep him safe from harm. He said, kneeling to her and the little Prince.

Thanks Rodan, that means a lot to me. Now how about we heal that swollen eye of yours.

I'm fine, I don't need your help with that.

Don't be absurd, I can tell you lost your vision in that eye and without it your flying is going to get worse.

She shook her head while watching Rodan leaning down to Mosura only to get his injured eye jabbed with Mosura's long, sharp claw to begin the healing treatment. Rodan tried not to move, but she could tell he was in a lot of pain. He let out a painful, very pitiful growl which made Prince Azure laugh once again. Caught off guard, she started to think about Behemoth and how funny it's going to be once she tells him about this meet and greet with Rodan and the Prince only to snap back to reality when she realize those days with the Sloth Kaiju were done and over with…..She frowned…...why did she feel so sad about this? This is exactly what she wanted….

Right?...
