Hi guys, wrote this today for Csi99031 who kindly reminded me that I needed to update this story! Sorry it's taken so long and that this chapter is so rubbish, but hey-ho, please enjoy! P.S. thank you for the reviews so far as well, they're great! x
Nick followed him all the way into his apartment and as soon as Greg got inside he headed straight to his kitchen draw and pulled out all the bottles and boxes of drugs he owned. He then picked them up one at a time, reading them and finding out which ones were the strongest. When he figured which ones he wanted, he tipped them out the bottle they were in and grabbed a bottle of water out the fridge and swallowed them.
"Let me take you to the hospital" Nick practically begged him, "They can prescribe you something stronger."
"I don't need anything stronger, I'm fine." Greg told him, limping by him and standing by his door which he opened. "I didn't ask for you to come up here."
Nick raised his eyebrows. "You're right, you didn't. But as your friend I came up to make sure you were alright. Which you obviously aren't."
"I am so you can go." Greg told him, standing impatiently.
Nick frowned at him. "I understand that you have problems right now, but since when does that give you a right to be an ass to everyone around you?" He asked him with accusation. "We just want to help you and you're treating us like shit."
"If you wanted to help, you'd leave me the hell alone." Greg told him, feeling himself get angry.
"Look, why can't you just admit that you need help?" Nick asked him.
"Because I don't need help for Christ's sake!" Greg yelled at him. "How many times do I have to tell you all? I. Don't. Need. Help!" He told him, his voice getting louder with every word. He breathed heavier and leaned on the open door as he felt his chest tightening.
Nick sighed and tried to keep himself from getting angry. "Just sit down will ya? Look what you're doing to yourself."
"Please get out." Greg said to him.
"No. You need to calm down." Nick told him.
"I don't need to calm down! I need you to get out!" Greg yelled at him again.
Nick could see it getting harder for him to breath and didn't know what to do. "Get out Nick!" Greg snapped at him again.
Nick threw his hands up in surrender and walked to the door. Once he stepped outside, Greg slammed the door shut, opened it and slammed it again. And again. And again. "Get out, get out, get out!" He shouted, even though Nick had already gone.
He slammed it one more time before sliding painfully down the wall and letting himself cry.
Nick stood the other side of the door, watching as Greg slammed it numerous times, all whilst shouting. Once he'd stopped, the next thing he heard was Greg gasping for breath and sniffling. He was crying.
Tentatively opening the door, Nick went in and sat besides Greg, pulling his friend into his side as he cried.

They'd been sat for ten minutes in the same position until Greg pulled away and wiped his face. Nick didn't dare say anything, frightened that he might get Greg worked up again.
Greg didn't say anything as he attempted to push himself up off the floor. He managed to get so far up but then his leg wouldn't cooperate anymore. Nick stood up when he saw Greg move and grabbed onto his arm and pulled him up.
Greg slowly made his way to the kitchen, holding onto any wall or piece of furniture he could on the way, and went into his cupboard and pulled out a bottle of whiskey. He didn't bother with a glass, just drank it straight from the bottle. He grimaced as it burnt his throat but soon took another swig.
"Can I have some of that?" Nick asked him.
Greg slid it along the counter and Nick grabbed it. He picked it up and began pouring it down the sink. To his surprise, Greg didn't shout or protest. Just watched him.
"That cost a lot of money." Greg told him plainly.
Nick looked to him and shrugged and then watched as the rest of the liquid dripped from the bottle. He dropped the bottle in the sink heavily and looked up to Greg. "You need a hospital."
Greg looked up to him and nodded. "I know."
Nick frowned slightly. "Why didn't you ask me sooner to take you? Or let me take you when I asked?"
"Because..." He took a deep breath and looked down to his counter. "I thought I'd be alright."
"I thought it would pass. I didn't know it was such a big problem." He told Nick with a nervous laugh.
Nick smiled sympathetically. "Well then let's go get it fixed. Let me take you to the hospital."
Greg looked up to him with sadness shining through his eyes. "But what if they tell me something bad?" he asked him worried.
Nick walked closer to him and put his hand on his shoulder. "Then we sort it out together, alright? Now come on."

After hobbling back down the stairs, Greg sat quietly in Nick's truck as they went to the hospital. He looked out the window the whole journey and Nick glanced over to him worriedly. Once they arrived at the hospital, Nick went to find a wheelchair for his friend and told him to sit in it. At first, Greg had refused, insisting that he was fine to walk, but Nick eventually won. They went inside and Laura walked by them.
"Laura," Greg half shouted to get her attention.
"Greg" She said happily. However her face dropped when she came over, "Is your leg still not right?" She asked putting her clipboard down.
He shook his head. "No, I need someone to look at it. It's really causing me problems." He told her trying to keep his tears at bay. "Can you get somebody to look at it? I need to know what's wrong."
Laura nodded. "Yes, yes of course. One minute." She went away and Greg swallowed nervously.
"Don't worry man, she'll sort you out." Nick told him who was sat in a chair next to him.
Laura came back and waved them over. "I've found us a spare cubicle, right this way."

Greg had just come out of an x-ray Laura had managed to fit him in for. She'd checked him over and Greg knew something was wrong when she ordered an x-ray. He sat with Nick, who kept giving him a reassuring smile and twiddled his thumbs nervously until Laura walked in.
"Greg, I have your results."

Wrote this very quickly so I know it's not very good! x
