Taming of the Sea

Lying across the railing Hermione groaned out.

"You okay there 'mione" Hideyoshi asks, concerned as he rubbed the young girl's back.

"I feel sick" Hermione groaned as she felt the contents of her stomach slosh about as the boat rocked back and forth across the open water.

"Ya need to get ya sea legs little Mori" Tomas laughed out as he tightened the rope to the mast.

Hermione ignores the man as she sinks to the ground, breathing heavily as she looks up into the sky in order to stop the world from spinning. Booted feet come into Hermione's view, looking up she see's Captain Ciro holding out a potion bottle towards her "a calming draught to ease the nerves of a first time sailor."

Hideyoshi reaches out and takes the potion from the captain's hand and helps hold it whilst Hermione drinks the potion. Hideyoshi then brought Hermione to their shared cabin in order for her to rest until the potion kicked in. Coming back out he walks up to Tomas who was standing at the side of the ship "Are you fishing?"

"Hmmm? Oh older Mori, I am. Nothing like fresh fish but since we're on the move I'm using a fishing trawler."

Nodding his head in understanding the asian man looks at the net gliding through the water "although I understand what you mean about fresh fish but won't trawling affect the ecosystem of the sea."

Waving his hand in dismissal Tomas replies "Don't ya worry older Mori Sir, I had this net magically crafted myself. It will extend and shorten depending on the surrounding area and will allow magical creatures to pass through it."

"Seimei's beard! That's genius, how were you able to inscribe so much into the net whilst maintaining such intricate detail" Hideyoshi asked excitedly, looking at the nets' unique design.

"I have a half-dwarf friend who specializes in needlework so it was easy for him to do the design. Inscribing the net with runes took quite a bit of work so I decided to use the different parts of the net. Like the handle is the only part that extends and shortens while the front bit of the net is where the magical creature detection rune was placed," Tomas replied, happy to see someone so interested in his creation.

"That's fantastic. So you essentially localised each part of what would be a normal net to act independently of each other. Therefore, preventing the runes from affecting any other inscription."

"Wow, you got it one go. Guess that's why you're the professor, professor" Tomas replied with a grin.

Sighing exasperatedly, Hideyoshi smiled back as the two continued their chat.

At the helm of the ship, Captain Ciro stares out of the window in front of him, seeing dark clouds growing. "Captain" the helmsman says, waiting for Captain Ciro's instruction.

"Tell the boys that it's all hands on deck, we've got a storm brewing and she doesn't look happy" Captain Ciro states, taking a seat on his command chair.

A short hi/low sound rings out through the ship "Men, this is your helmsman speaking. All hands on deck, I repeat all hands on deck. We have a storm approaching. All loose objects are to be tied down. Mr Mori and Miss Mori please head back to your cabin."

"Aw nuts, just as the conversation was about to get interesting" Tomas moans petulantly.

"It's ok Tomas, I'll tell you more about the recentibus spell later, for now I better head back to my cabin."

"I hold ya to your word Professor. Hope little Mori doesn't get too sick cause of the storm" he replies using his thumb to point to the storm growing behind him.

Hideyoshi nods in agreement "yes, she has been quite tired with all the moving around we have been doing lately."

Someone calls Tomas' name further at the front of the deck, "Well later professor, I got work to do" Tomas bids him goodbye as he jogs off towards the voice.

Hideyoshi walked through the ship en route to his cabin, and everywhere he went the few crewmen working on the small ship/boat ran back and forth preparing themselves for, what would likely be, a rough ride. 'I hope the storm doesn't wake Hermione up' Hideyoshi thinks to himself idly as he enters the room.

In the room, Hermione was looking on a chair, looking out of the little window in the cabin. The water was beating against the ship causing a thunderous roar to vibrate against the room's metal walls. The little witch shuddered just as Hideyoshi stepped into the room, "get down from the chair 'mione, you don't want to be too close to the window right now."

"Why papa? What's happening outside?" she asked as she hopped off the chair and walked towards her father.

"The storm is relentless outside but it is to be expected considering where we are right now."

"Are we going to be ok papa?"

Hideyoshi patted the young child's head and with a smile replied, "you don't need to worry 'mione, this ship and its crew will keep us safe." He then brought her over the bed and laid down next to her, patting her back to ease her worry.

Noticing the tension in Hermione's shoulders Hideyoshi began softly singing, "Hush my baby, Hush my child, I know it's rough outside, I know it's too loud to hear but trust that I am near. I'll hold you tight when lightning strikes and cover your ears when thunder blears in the skies. When the wind howls, I'll roar in return so you don't feel fear because my child I am near. And the rain? When it pelt's down like needles falling from the sky, I will shelter you from its sharp sting because my dear, daddy is here.

Hideyoshi continues his song until he hears Hermione's breathing even out. He waited for a few moments to confirm that she was indeed sleeping before getting out of the bed and heading out of the cabin. There was something going on outside, more than just a mere storm, he felt it in his gut. Hideyoshi would not say it in front of Hermione but he felt worried, something was activating his fight or flight instinct. He could be wrong, he could be overthinking the situation but he had Hermione with him and he wasn't going to take any chances. So back he went, up to the main deck.

"DON'T BOMBARDA IT! DO YOU WANT IT TO GET ANGRY!" Captain Ciro shouted angrily at one of the crewmen who had his wand pointing out to the open sea.

"Captain! What's going on?" Hideyoshi questioned as he walked straight up to the old sailor.

"I don't know what kind of luck you've got professor, but that looks like a mighty fine magical creature we have in our midst" the captain replied with a grim look.

"What?! A magical creature? Here?! Are you sure it's not just a whale that might have lost its way" Hideyoshi asked his voice coloured with disbelief.

"Trust me professor, when it comes to beings of the sea I never get them wrong. Identified the sucker with my very own magic detector" he said jabbing his thumb to the navigation room that sat behind the ship's steering wheel. Light could be seen shining brightly from the gap underneath the door.

The detector was a glass ball shape much like those used in divination. The similarities however, stopped there as the detector was pure black almost opaque. If a magic was detected the ball would shine a bright pink colour. The brighter the colour the closer the magical signature. The detector was special in that it would not shine when in contact with magic frequencies given off by witches and wizards. This way, the crew didn't have to deal with a constant shining ball picking up their magical signals.

"Any guesses as to who our magical friend is then captain" Hideyoshi asked as he grabbed a railing as the boat rocked violently once more. He was quite surprised to see the older man had not even flinched and stood almost rooted to the flooring off the ship.

Ciro shook his head, "nothing that I have unfortunately."

A loud BANG echoed and the boat tipped at a brutal 45 degree angle before steadying. "ANY DAMAGES TO THE BOAT?!" the captain demanded.

"None captain, we were able to cast a protego to the area!" a voice that sounded like Tomas shouted back.

Hideyoshi's eyes widened, "Hermione" he screeched in panic.

Just as he was about to run and check on the little witch, said girl came out, "papa, papa. I saw it, I saw it."

He knelt down to his daughter's height, gripping her arm to steady the young girl. "What is it 'mione what did you see?!"

Hermione opened her mouth ready to answer but another crash sounded as many of the crewmen were tossed off their feet.

The shape in the water got larger and larger, until the creature pierced through the water with such ferocity that the boat had almost capsized from the wave the creature had created. "IT'S THE KRAKEN" one of the crewmen screamed as he pointed towards the giant sea creature that towered high above them.

"I thought the kraken was a myth!" another cried out.

"So are unicorns to the muggles, you dingbat. Now pass me that rope" Tomas shouted as he spelled himself to stick to the boat despite how slippery the deck was from the water raining down on them.

A thick rope levitated towards him quickly as he tied down the last few loose bits to the ship. "Everyone, we've got to use the sticking charm! This kraken is relentless and we have to protect the ship" Tomas shouted.

The crewmen nodded in sync and all were casting Exposimise to their shoes as they stood all around the ship's edges, ready to protect the ship against the one true beast of the sea. Hideyoshi casted the spell for both himself and Hermione as they watched the crew shout protego over and over.

The kraken's tentacles were as large as a skyscraper and its screeching tone pierced through the storm. It rose its tentacle high in the sky above the ship and let it fall. "PROTEGO MAXIMA" Hideyoshi cried out as he desperately held on to Hermione.

The protego shattered causing the researcher to fall on his back. Luckily, it seemed that the spell was just strong enough to repel the tentacle resulting in another ungodly screech from the creature.

"We're sitting ducks out here!" a crewman yelled.

Captain Ciro balled his hands into fists, looking around he could see the helpless look his men were showing. He looked around only to see the crashing waves and dark cloudy skies. He gritted his teeth hard as he scanned the area, until he saw it. A few rocks not too far from them. Thinking quickly he undid his charm and rushed over to the steering wheel, "you" he said to the helmsman "help the others protect the ship, I will steer our way out."

"B-but captain" the helmsman stuttered.

"You know my orders!" Ciro shouted, "now scram!"

The helmsman scrambled towards the rest of the crew, casting his own protego and sticking charm swiftly so as to not raise the captain's ire.

"Hold on tight lads, tis a bumpy ride ahead!"

And with that the captain spun the wheel anti-clockwise, the bowstrip (front of the ship) faced the kraken head on. "Alright lads, get yourself in order. I want half of you to distract the kraken with as many spells as you can, the other half continue protecting the boat."

"AYE AYE CAPTAIN!" they answered together in determination as they put their fate onto their captain.

"Can you give us a hand professor Mori, lassy!" Ciro called out.

The two Mori's nodded their heads, "Aye aye captain." They both readied their wands.

"On my mark!" the captain bellowed.

The crew and the two Mori's raised their wand, "FIRE!"

Spell after spell was casted in quick succession. From an arresto momentum, to slow the tentacles to an avis, to peck at the kraken's eye, each spell kept the kraken busy and most importantly too disturbed to notice the boating gliding pass.

When the boat was too far for their spells to continue reaching, the kraken then opened its large eye only to find that the ship was gone. Angered, the kraken dived under the sea and raced towards the ship.

"Captain Ciro, it's gaining on us!" Hermione cried out.

"Not if i've got anything I can do about it" the captain replied, as he opened a hidden compartment on the ship's helm, where a blue button lay. "Everyone, hang on tight!" he yelled before jabbing the button.

Suddenly, the ship rocketed forward. "Captain, we're gonna crash!" Tomas screamed as he gripped the railing hard watching as they got closer and closer the sharp rocks that littered the area they were approaching.

The captain ignored the screams of the others as he concentrated, he could hear the shrieks of the kraken as it was getting closer to them again as the speed boost began to wane. Hideyoshi looked at the kraken as it got closer and closer, his spells were not able to hit the large but streamlined body of the kraken when it took cover underwater.

Just when everyone felt that all hope was lost, the captain spun the wheel of the helm clockwise, jerking the ship and making take a harsh 90 degree turn, "and one last time!" the captain declared as he once again jabbed the speed boost button, throwing the ship forward and out of the krakens way.

The kraken screeched again and again as if stuck in place as the ship kept moving away from the beast. "W-what happened" Hermione asked, her legs feeling like jelly from the fight against the terrifying creature.

"A whirlpool, and a strong one at that" the captain stated. "I noticed that waters around the rock were not splashing on the rocks like they should in this kind of storm, which meant that the current from the whirlpool was so strong that the waves couldn't even touch the rocks."

"That's just brilliant" Hideyoshi stated, his mouth open in surprise. He never even noticed such a fine detail like that, and was truly thankful that he had such an experienced man as captain of this expedition.

"You don't get to be my age, still transversing the sea without being able to see the mood of the waves" the captain replied with a bit of pride.

"The old coot would probably faster die from a walk in the park than from a tumble with the waves" Tomas pitched in with a cheeky smile.

The captain grumbled under his breath about not being able to find good hands nowadays when an excited squeal cut through his monologue, "that was so cool!" Hermione went up to the captain and began asking him questions, like how the speed boost worked and how long could it last, how he knew that the kraken would be trapped by the whirlpool, how he was able to notice such small details, and his other experiences.

Rather than being put off, the questions made the captain smile. The corner of his eyes crinkled in happiness as he answered each question. The rest of the crew smiled at the interaction and decided to begin clearing up the deck, and having a breather after such an intense event.

"Be careful there captain, you might get yourself a new first mate at this rate" the japanese wizard jokes.

"I would be honoured to have such a brave lass as me first mate" he replied, ruffling the girl's hair. "She's like the grand-daughter I never had."

"Well thank you captain but she's got to finish her schooling first before she heads out into the vast ocean" Hideyoshi said looking down to see Hermione's beaming face.

"Of course dad, I can't be a sailor like Captain Ciro if I can't navigate or watch the sea like he does," she said in a matter of fact tone.

Hideyoshi chuckled, "let's see what happens first. Remember a few years ago when you wanted to be librarian for the national archives until you realised you didn't want to stay indoors all the time."

Hermione pouted indignantly, she was younger then so she obviously didn't know any better. As much as she liked books, she wanted to do more than just read all her life. After all, reading about adventure's isn't the same as experiencing an adventure in real life. She would not truly know what it felt like to have tasted the salty water or felt the wave smash against the ship if she had only read about it in a book.

The brunette's eyes took on a shine as she declared, "maybe I should be a researcher like you papa."

Hideyoshi's eyebrows lifted in surprise, "Oh? But I thought you don't like it when I spend too much time researching in my room or how busy I can get when drafting a new paper on magical theory."

"I don't like it but even though you're busy you still make time for me papa," Hermione replied. "You always bring me to all these different places to learn different things. If I become a researcher then I can spend more time with you and we can research together."

Hideyoshi felt his eyes misting up as he looked away, hiding his face from his daughter. He felt blessed to have such an understanding daughter. "Are you okay papa?" Hermione asked looking up at her dad worriedly.

"I-i'm fine, just the salty air is making my eyes sting a bit" he replied, secretly wiping away his tears.

"Let's get some rest, all the excitement has made me quite drained" he said, nodding towards the captain in acknowledgment as he guided the girl back to their cabin for some well needed rest.

The rest of their time at sea, sailing towards their destination was calmer with only a few bumps along the way. During the journey, Hermione had learned more about fishing from Tomas, who liked to tease the young girl due to her funny reactions but he was still incredibly helpful in taking care of the youngest member of the ship. In fact, Tomas was the one who would always give Hermione sailing tips whether or not she asked for them.

He would always begin his mini lectures with a "remember little Mori," before giving his tip about something like tying off a line which "starts with the horn farthest from the load, you wanna wrap the line around both horns. It's important that you only do this once because wrapping it more increases the odds of jamming."

Despite this Hermione enjoyed the hand on part of the lecture where Tomas would guide her through the step by step process of tying a line. She partly thought it was just his way of making her do his work but she didn't mind plus it was probably longer for him to teach her than actually doing the job himself.

Captain Ciro was also a permanent presence as he would regale the younger Mori with stories from his youth about creatures magical and non-magical alike that he encountered on his travels. He would tell her about the lovely lady he met in the Isle of Scilly or the traders he accompanied to the Port of Singapore. By the end of it, Hermione would be out like a light and her father would need to carry her to the bed to sleep.

The rest of the crew were friendly to the Mori duo and would show off their moving tattoos which greatly intrigued the young witch. Similarly, the asian wizard was fascinated with the artistic style and magical method used to create such body art. The tattoos were from different regions of the world and each sailor had different reasons for getting a tattoo. One of the sailors had a tribal like tattoo done whilst in India. It was geometric in design and covered a part of his face which symbolized ensnaring evil beings and keeping one safe until they meet their ancestors in the geometric shape spun around the eye of the sailor making Hideyoshi feel like he was in a trance if he stared too long. The sailor wouldn't say his reasons for getting the tattoo but the sad eyes and soft smile spoke volumes to older Mori, who asked no questions and merely placed a comforting hand on the man's shoulder.

Another member of the crew had caught Hermione's interest with his frog tattoo, which showed a lot of finesse with its intricate art despite hopping about the man's arm. "Why did you get a frog on your body?" the witch asked curiously as she poked the man' arm startling the frog that hopped further up the sailor's arm.

The sailor was amused at the little girl who stood further away to try and catch another glimpse of the amphibian that now sat on his shoulder. "My ancestors were Aztec, they are known to tattoo their bodies for a number of reasons but mostly it has to do with tradition. You see the Aztecs believed that animals were spirit guides and that each person had a totem animal, sort of like an animal that represented them." Hermione scrunched up her face trying to figure out what the man meant.

Noticing this, the sailor explained "do you know what a Patronus is?" He waited patiently as she nodded in reply before he continued "well totem animals are a bit like Patronuses, they represent who the person is inside and it protects them against evil beings."

"Wow, that's so awesome! How do you know what your totem animal is?"

"It's not anything complicated, it's just whatever animal the person feels the most kinship towards. In Aztec culture the frog represents the importance of a person in the circle of life, regardless of not being towards the top of the food chain."

"But it's important to do your best and try to be the best" Hermione replies staunchly.

The sailor agrees with a nod, "yes everyone should always try their best but sometimes a person's best is not enough and that's okay."

"How is it okay" Hermione replies softly. The conversation had brought her back to the Yabusame competition where she had not been able to strike down all the targets. The young witch thought back to all the work she had done for months in order to show her father how well she was doing during one of his free moments in between his research. She had worked so hard but still she had failed to meet her own expectations.

The sailor interrupted these swirling thoughts in the girl's mind by laying a hand on her head, "we are all connected, one way or another. Those who are at the top can only function if there are those at the bottom holding them up. Everyone begins somewhere, and failure is not a dead end, it is a learning experience." He looks into Hermione's eyes, "do not fear failure because failure is a person's greatest teacher." And with one last pet on the head, he went over to help another crewman.

Hideyoshi noticed that the sailor had left Hermione and that the young girl was lost in thought. "Something the matter 'mione?" he asked sincerely.

"No, just something he told me. It's comforting but I don't know why."

The wizard hummed lowly, "sounds like you're reconciling something."

"Reconciling?"

"It's like settling. Maybe there was something bothering you but what he said was the answer to your question."

Hermione thought about it for a moment, "reconciling. Yes, maybe I am reconciling my feelings. Thank you papa."

Hideyoshi smiled at his daughter, "whatever is bothering you, feel free to talk to me about it and if you can't then talk to someone who cares about you like your teachers or friends."

Hermione looked at her father, he was acting weird or well weirder than his normal philosophical self but she nodded anyway.

"Good, now how's about you help me find out if a wingardium spell is fast enough to catch a fish swimming underwater" he says much to her excitement.

Two days went by and they were at their destination, floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The rough seas they experienced in the last 48 hours had suddenly vanished, and the waters were eerily calm. They had taken a while to get to the middle of the triangle due to the massive lightning storm that blocked their way forcing them to go one big round before finally being able to break through.

"I've got to tell you professor man, I don't like this," Tomas said, his usual grin pulled down into a scowl.

Hideyoshi was standing next to him with Hermione clutching to his body, there was a light fog covering the area and it felt like the temperature had dropped 20 degrees. Captain Ciro was once again at the helm, in case disaster struck he would be able to see them out of here at best and at worst he was the one with the ship's portkey authentication spell that would pull them out if things went south.

The older Mori held out a device and frowned, "there is something jamming the device and it's definitely not the weather."

A small plop rang throughout the empty space, causing many of the crew to catch their breath, a sailor turned towards the sound but saw nothing. He felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. A soft bloop came from the other side of the ship, but yet again the sailors on that side of the ship saw nothing. Not even a vague shape could be seen in the murky depths below.

Hermione didn't want to say it aloud but she was scared, the kraken that they had faced early on in their journey was a horrifying creature but still she knew it was there, she knew what she was facing. Here, she didn't know what was going to happen but it seemed like nothing was going right. According to Captain Ciro the winds would steer the sails out of any dire issue but where they were now, there was no wind. It was as if everything was frozen in time even the very air that surrounded them. She had never seen her father so tense, so unsure of himself and that increased her worry by ten fold.

She turned her head away from where she hid it on her father's side to look at Captain Ciro, and as she looked at the old sea dog and saw something jump out of the water towards him, she screamed "watch out!"

As if a spell had been broken all chaos broke loose, various other beings jumped out of the water onto the ship's deck. For the first time,Hermione had heard her father swear loudly as saying "fuck." Because their ship which held just a mere dozen or so crewmen, themselves and the captain not included, were now faced with undead merfolk.

Undead merfolk unlike normal merfolk were those corrupted by black magic. Their magical core was twisted to the point that their very souls were broken. As such, they were not able to properly pass on, forced to live on until their physical bodies wasted away, these creatures were vicious and mindless. Most of their rationality would have been lost throughout their years of life and their sole purpose was to simply kill those who had the misfortune of entering their range. These dark creatures were thought to be extinct due to the care given by various governments and the merfolk counsel to prevent such a tragedy from occurring to another living being but it seems that they were wrong. These vicious beasts with their pupiless eyes and sharp fangs were very much alive in the Bermuda Triangle and they were out for blood.

Fighting ensued, the men blasted the undead creatures as much as they could but they kept stepping forward, time and time again. Though they were relatively small in number the horde felt endless. Hermione held on to her father's robe as they each casted spells to ward off the soulless beings. Captain Ciro struggled with an undead merfolk that got on top of him "l-light...THEY ARE WEAK AGAINST LIGHT" Captain Ciro shouted as he fought off his assailant.

"LUMOS MAXIMA" Tomas shouted, killing two of the undead merfolk that were situated near him.

Hideyoshi processed the captain's words quickly, "these are dark creatures, they are weak against light" he called out. Several nods from around him confirmed that the other s had heard the conclusion as they began firing off light based magic. The undead merfolk hissed and screeched in anger, throwing themselves off the side of the boat. However, one remained, relentlessly fighting against Ciro "screeeeeiweee" the creature shrieked.

"You blasted merfolk, can't you see that you've lost. Get out of here!"he bellowed.

"Shreeeieinan-CI-saisomms" the dark creature continued shouting. At this all wands turned towards the direction of the captain and the only dark creature left on deck.

"I'm benign kind today so i'm only tellin' you once more, get" the captain shouted, his grip around his wand tightened.

"Seee-rroooooo" the creature sounded out.

The captain furrowed his eyebrows, and the creature once again called out "Ceeeee-rroooo".

"It can't be," the captain said looking at the creature in disbelief.

Once again the undead merfolk sounded out "Ciiii-rrooooo".

The captain's jaw dropped, and tears ran down his face as he replied "J-julia. I-is that you?"

"Kwwwweeeeen, seeaaa kween" the creature replied.

"Merlin's beard it is you, Julia my love I-" the captain said as he stepped closer to the creature who was reaching forward with ehr arms.

Captain Ciro's touching reunion was cut short by a Patronus that slammed into the undead merfolk. The captain turned to look at the perpetrator furiously "who dares!"

"Sorry captain" Tomas said as his Patronus, a small parrot, disappeared. "It's not time to play happy families and we both know that she is not Julia."

Ciro looked at the undead merfolk who struggled to get up, looking up at him helplessly. In spite of that, the captain noticed a part of his jacket was clutched in her hand indicating that she was going to attack him. A resigned sigh was breathed out before the captain pulled his hat down further, and finally casted his own patronus sending the last undead flying off the ship.

"I think we are done for now, don't you think professor" he said to Hideyoshi.

"I agree captain, we best get out of here unless a few more creatures want to welcome us early to a wet graveyard."

Nodding, the captain pulled out a scroll and signed off on the bottom of the parchment "hold on tight everyone, it's going to be long one" he yelled, and a few seconds later the ship winked out of existence.

The crew ended in a port in Florida not too far away from the Bermuda Triangle but enough that they were safe from whatever the seas had to offer at the moment. "Oy, professor what the hell was all that?" Tomas asked, obviously meaning about what happened to the captain.

"It seems to be like that undead creature performed a Legilimency spell on our dear captain. I didn't even know they were able to do that, none of the texts have ever spoken about such an ability."

"Well you better figure it out because that really spooked the old captain" he said with a shrug. "How's little Mori" Tomas asked, genuine concern marring his beautiful face.

"She will be fine but I am worried. These events have not been the best I admit but with a crew like yours I had no doubt."

"Well you see…." and Hideyoshi did his best to explain the situation to Tomas but for now it was best that they leave the old sea dog on his own to mull over some things. Sighing Hideyoshi drank his whiskey, having placed a sleeping Hermione in a hotel room.

"Flattery will only get you so far Hide" the young woman said as she poured a glass of water and placed it in front of the asian wizard. "I haven't seen you around here in years. What is your ass doing all the way back here" the bartender asked simply.

Switching from alcohol to water the Asian man replied "well, maybe you will see me more often sometime down the line."

"Mmhmm sure, tell me that when you don't just disappear and appear out of nowhere randomly" the bartender replied.

Hideyoshi groaned, "it's not like that Zelda, a lot of things happened and you know my research takes me everywhere."

"Such as?"

"Such as me being a father to an amazing little girl" he noted.

"What?!" the bartender squawked. "You have a daughter you never told me about, when did you even get a wife and why was I not invited to the wedding?!"

"No! I adopted her" he explained.

"Well, am I going to meet her?" Zelda asked.

The wizard shook his head, "not right now, we spent more time than we thought out at sea and it's time for Hermione's new school year to begin soon. She only has this year left before her OWL exams so whatever optional subject she chooses will be what her exam will be on. It's a lot of stress for an 11 year old."

Zelda rolled her eyes, "you Mori's and your need to drown in books. I'll never understand it."

Hideyoshi's laughter echoes into the night as Hermione's sleeps soundly dreaming of possibilities under the shining moon glowing brightly in the sky.

Wow after all the bs i spilled about updating soon, can you believe im actually updating. I spent literally 7 hours on a desk without leaving busting my ass to finally do this update. If things seem wonky in the end, i'm sorry because its almost midnight and i'm about to pass out.

I read and appreciate all comments and if anyone wants to see anything in particular i'll very much consider. Again i wont drop this story but don't expect a fast update.
