Chapter 6
The Glee Club
As Rachel sat in Glee that Friday afternoon, getting ready to listen to Finn and Mr. Shue sing, she felt extremely anxious for that night. Sure it wasn't that big of a deal, in , it had happened in multiple different ways with each of the different people. Rachel kissing Finn, Finn kissing Quinn, Quinn kissing Finn, and even Finn kissing Rachel but that was kind of different. But those were all different, they had apologized by this point, or just ignored, it was all during dumb fights, or dumb actions, they had forgiven and forgotten.
This time… nothing was happening. They were all on pretty good terms, and Rachel hadn't even been showing...as much, interest in Finn recently. She thought he was over her, and now he kisses her and puts her in an uncomfortable position. It's so disrespectful and confusing.
So Rachel was happy to tell Quinn what he had done. Of course she was anxious, Quinn could overreact, she could misunderstand, there was the possibility of losing her trust, there was the possibility of Finn being mad at her. These things scared her, but she had to do it.
Mr. Shue and Finn sang "Make Damn Sure" by: Taking Back Sunday.
It was...an interesting choice.
"I wanted to do "The Club Can't Handle Me" By FloRida, but we thought it kinda sounded like something I would regularly sing so…" Finn stated, slightly out of breath from the singing and (rough) dancing. Mr. Shue just stood beside him grinning and nodding along.
"Well, that probably would have been even worse to witness, though this still made me want to be deaf. And blind. Would have been better if you had actually fallen down, kept me on the edge of my seat seeing you trip around, Finn." Santana said chuckling. Finn gave her a pouting babyface.
"That's enough Santana. Anyways, I hope you all have a good day, continue working on your voices, and think of songs to sing for sectionals!" Mr. Shue finally said, then walked away to talk to Brad and some of the band members, that were somehow never busy.
10 minutes later
Most of the class was gone, mainly the football players and cheerleaders. Quinn had given Rachel and hopeful smile and said she'd see her there, talking about the football game, before rushing out of the room with Satan and Brittney. Uh..Santana and Brittney. Rachel always mixed those two up.
She said goodbye to everyone that was still in the room and left the building. Her dad picked her up and took her home.
Rachel had planned on going to the football game when Finn asked her to at lunch, she was mad at him sure but she was still blinded by love. She had later decided against it, because of the fact she was mad at him and was still scared about telling Quinn, but she knew she had to, so when Quinn had asked her to come, mainly so afterwords they could maybe hang out, she finally was convinced she had to go. Plus it would give them a little time to hang out alone before Puck's Saturday night party, that was planned for in case they (miraculously) won, or so they could feel better when they (inevitably) lost, that is if nothing wrong went down between Quinn and her, and or Finn and them before the party even started.
Rachel called Quinn and agreed to come. Quinn was obviously happy and even said she was picking her up and driving her there. Rachel still felt uncomfortable. She was almost certain Quinn didn't know about the "auditorium incident", so she decided that after the game she was going to tell Quinn since Finn was obviously too much of a coward to do so himself.
Quinn picked up Rachel for the football game and gave her a prepaid ticket that she got for free, being a Cheerio and all. They drove together in Quinn's car, they had to get there extra early so Quinn could get ready but neither really cared, they just enjoyed each other's company and sang along to the radio.
Friday night; the girl's locker room
Quinn was putting on her cheerleading outfit that was specifically for the games with the rest of the team. She was excited about tonight. Quinn never had high expectations for the football team, but she still loved cheering. Going out in front of hundreds or occasionally a thousand or more people, having them all be excited to see the award-winning cheer team, made her feel important. It made her feel powerful, and she loved the feeling of being hoisted up, doing flips, just preforming. She got the same feeling during the show choir competitions.
She was also excited about hanging out with Rachel, which strangely but not entirely so, still felt surprising to think. She was also excited to go to the party, Puck's parties were, all be it dangerous, but so fun, especially with her best friends and her other friends. Tonight was gonna be great.
It was time for the game to start. Rachel didn't know how most of the game worked, but luckily that didn't matter because the whole time Rachel found herself watching the cheerios instead of the actual game happening behind them. That is, a specific cheerio. Quinn. Who was definitely just a friend, and that meant that Rachel was just admiring the Head-cheerleaders talent...and incredible flexibility…
As a proud friend of course.
Yeah.
Rachel's happy moments were soon over as the game ended. Everyone was cheering. Wait cheering, that wasn't right for when you lose? Rachel looked at the Mckinley team, they were all screaming, smiling, jumping. The other team was angry and disappointed as they left the field. She looked at the board, They had won by 6 points.
Obviously this was great news for the school and the town, seeing as they never win, but it was putting a small dent in her plans. It didn't matter, maybe this was a good thing, it would mean Quinn was so excited that she didn't care as much.
A girl could hope.
Everyone was congratulating the football team, eventually, they were all allowed to go to the showers and change. Quinn headed to the showers with the rest of the cheer squad.
"I can't believe that we won, I mean its been ages since those football losers won a game. They really do suck, can't believe we have to cheer for them. Though I am glad we won, the parties are always better when the guys are excited about something. And cheering for them isn't so bad, because at least I get to shake my body, it's always nice to let out some tension.." Quinn heard Santana say to Brittany as they started taking off their clothes.
"Yeah. But San, I thought you liked releasing your tension with m- " Brittany began before a blushing Santana covered her mouth and quickly dragged her off to the showers. Quinn just laughed at how obvious her best friends were, and blushed a little at the dirty undertones. Even with how well they hid it around everyone else, Quinn could tell something was going on between those two. Or maybe they weren't that good at hiding it and everyone else was just oblivious, or too scared to say anything.
Quinn had a nice warm shower and then got dressed in her regular clothes, and walked out of the locker room towards the bleachers. Before she even made it past the building, large hands pulled her away from everyone else.
So I know I said a lot was happening in this chapter, but it was too long. So next chapter more of the bigger stuff so far will be happening! Again sorry for the wait! Don't worry though, now that I'm back I'm planning on writing more!
Hope you enjoyed the chapter, hope you have a good day/night!
