"Max!" Kenny yelped, climbing off Kimberly Brock on the couch. "Max, wait!"

She stared at him, the pain so bad she couldn't talk or move. My love, she thought, my husband, the father of my children...we've been married for 10 years.

"Max," he tried again, pulling up his pants. "Max, don't!"

"Don't touch me!" she cried, pushing him away. "Don't ever touch me!"

"Max, please, listen to me."

"How long?" she spat. "How long have you been cheating on me? On our family?"

No, he thought, no... "Max."

"How long?"

"Two years. You know we weren't working."

She slapped him before fleeing into the night.

Sobbing, she curled up in the hotel, hurting more than she thought. I'll kill him, I want him to suffer…

"We can do that."

Max shot up in the bed and looked around. "Hello?"

"We can punish him. You want to punish him?"

"Who are you?"

"Your pain, Mistress. I feel it."

Max screamed as the hotel window burst in and a woman flew in. She scrambled up, unable to take her eyes off her milky white skin, hair, and bright blue eyes. "Help!"

"I will help you. He won't make you hurt again."

Max couldn't move, as the woman put her hands on her face and let out a scream that flooded her mind and soul. Max felt like she was burning as her skin and hair turned as white as the other woman and her eyes turned the same turquoise. Feeling the power rush through her, as her nails and teeth grew sharp, as her mind was filled with nothing but rage and wanting to stop the sorrow.

"You are ready."

Max curled and uncurled her hands, as she looked at the Banshee that gifted her with her new powers.

"You needn't be afraid."

Max smiled, showing her sharp teeth and red tongue. Opening her mouth, she let out the same blood-curdling scream that transformed her. Screaming, again and again, she felt her powers and connection to the banshees grow.

"She won't forgive you."

Kenny handed Kim a beer. "I know. I wanted to make it work for our kids, at least until they were older...I should have told her I wanted a divorce years ago."

Kim kissed him. "She knows now."

"I didn't want to hurt her. We were never going to work."

"I know."

"I want you, Kim. We're going to be a family," he said, laying a hand on her stomach. "With my kids and our baby."

Max finished screaming as her physical transformation finished, very torn between on her terror of what just happened to her and the power she felt. Seeing her reflection, she was a mirror image of the banshee who created her. Solid white, except for her blue eyes, she felt the desire to destroy more and more and less and less like who she was.

"Come, Sister. You know what to do."

"How?" the Banshee that used to be Max Lacos managed through her new dark thoughts. "What?"

"I felt your call. Your sorrow and need for revenge."

Kill, the new Banshee thought, I need to kill.

"Destroy them, Sister, and join us."

Kill, she thought again, feeling the desire of being a newborn banshee overwhelm her. Looking at her sister, she licked her white lips with her red tongue. "I will kill them all."

Her sister screamed again, as they flew out the window together.

"I know you want your mom," Kenny said. Max isn't taking my kids. Anyone can see I'm the better parent. "She'll be home soon."

"I want Mommy," seven-year-old Zoe said.

"Get some rest. I love you."

Zoe hugged her pillow and began to cry, as Kenny shut off the lights. Be an adult Max and come home. We need to talk about getting divorced...I shouldn't have married her. She's too difficult, too stubborn, not what I ever wanted. Hugging Kim in the kitchen, he sighed. "They want their mom."

"Max won't get custody."

Looking up, he heard a rustling in the bushes. Glancing upstairs where Zoe and Mark slept, he yelled as the window burst in with a flash of white. "What the hell?"

The Banshee stared at her husband as he recoiled in horror at her. Rushing toward him, she grabbed his face and stared into his eyes. Kill, she thought, punish. Opening her mouth to reveal her sharp teeth, she screamed in her husband's face.

What, Kenny thought, as she screamed again, feeling it invade his thoughts and body, he couldn't move from the banshee, as she screamed again. Feeling his body go limp as the banshee scream pulled his soul from his body, he fell lifeless to the floor.

The Banshee screamed again, intaking his soul and watching as his body shriveled into a dry husk on the floor. Screaming again she felt the last of her human soul die after killing him and her remaining humanity wash away as she fully became a banshee. Feeling nothing, she turned to a stunned Kimberly and barred her teeth. Screaming, she grabbed her too, her sharp nails cutting into her. Starring at her, the Banshee stroked her cheek, her hot breath on her face, as she looked into her eyes, searching for signs of sorrow beneath her terror as she decided what to do with the sobbing woman.

"Please," Kim sobbed. "Please don't hurt me."

The Banshee cocked her head to the side, the urge to scream overwhelming her.

"The kids, they need me. Their mother left them."

A lie, the Banshee sensed, a liar. The Banshee sliced her face with her sharp nails, making Kim cry out in pain.

"Please!" Kim sobbed, looking at the husk of Kenny on the floor. "I don't know what you are or... Let me go. I won't tell anyone."

The Banshee smiled, showing her sharp teeth and shook her head. Opening her mouth, she screamed and took Kim's soul until she was a husk on the floor

Her transformation complete, her humanity, soul, and memories gone, The Banshee that was Max Lacos stood in what used to be her kitchen for a moment, full of rage. Screaming again, she flew out into the night, joining her banshee sisters in the hunt.
