Itachi Uchiha, 26 years old, was the main heir of the Uchiha Group conglomerate. Calm, cold, and 'dangerous', were the right words to describe him. He had an outstanding ability in handling and leading the Japanese business industry. Thus his contribution to the glory of the Uchiha Group was undeniable.

In short, Itachi was one of the 'most sought after bachelor' in Japan.

However, this status was going to change. Itachi had just found out that he actually had a fiancée. And just like his background, his fiancée was none other than the esteemed daughter of the Hyuga aristocratic family; the Family whom for generations had been heavily involved and very influential in political and governmental activities in Japan.

Itachi massaged his throbbing forehead. This sudden matchmaking was clearly absurd. He knew that marriage were an obligations that he had to carry as the main successor of the Uchiha family. But did it has to be through an arranged marriage? What's more with a 'princess'?

Itachi had never met this Hinata Hyuuga, his 21-year-old fiancée. He only knew that Hinata was the eldest daughter of the main Hyuuga family, who was beautiful (if the photos sent by her secretary were not photoshoped ...), but ... sheltered. Hinata was rarely seen or heard on the news. But with her status as a daughter of a wealthy noble family, Itachi imagined a childish and selfish spoiled girl. A princess who lived her live in luxury who had never known the rigors of the real world. Itachi sighed tiredly.

But that aside, who else could Itachi hoped to marry? What kind of woman would understand the burden he had as the main heir of Uchiha? He who had always been, and would always be, preoccupied with work, what kind of woman could comprehend him? Furthermore, was there a kind of woman who could attract his attention so that the word 'love' could appear in his heart?

In the end Itachi decided to follow his family's request. All for the sake of the Uchiha. His grandfather, Madara Uchiha, had always intended to strengthen the Uchiha Group by combining their families in marriage with the aristocratic Hyuga family. But unfortunately, he only had two sons, Fugaku and Kagami Uchiha, and the Hyuga family also had a son, Hiashi Hyuga.

Disappointed, the ambitious two elders did not quell their desires there, of course. They were determined to continue their wish to the next bloodline of their descendants.

Therefore, it became a curse to their grandchildren. Itachi as the main heir of the Uchiha, had to marry Hinata, the eldest daughter of the Hyuga family.

Love?
Such a rare luxury in the marriage of families like them.

Hinata had a headache. She massaged her temples. Hinata did not know what else to do.

How could that grandfather of hers do this to her?! He sold her in a forced marriage? A marriage with a stiff iceberg man of the Uchiha conglomerate Group nonetheless?

Hey! Hinata was still 21 years old! There were still many places she wanted to explore and things she wanted to do! Hinata did not want to get married, especially to a member of a family who were always in the spotlight of Japanese media. Oh God, for 20 years she was burdened with the heavy name of the Hyuga, and then she was going to be added with the burden of the Uchiha family name?!

Hinata screamed as loud as she could under her pillow. She was so annoyed! She wanted to be free! All this time she had been a good Hyuga daughter; refined and calm, expert in playing chess, musical instruments and calligraphy. She was truly a reflection of a princess from an ancient aristocratic family.

Hinata had lived for her family for more than 20 years. She expected to have a free life in her future; for once she wanted to live for herself. She even already had her own income from her secret side job as an editor. Hinata was getting ready to live independently. But these matchmaking demands...

"Hu... hu ~" Hinata sobbed. She hated that she was forced to marry someone she did not want. And nobody even cared about her opinion. But such as, she could not escape the demands she bear as the daughter of the Hyuga Family.

Their first meeting was held at one of the best restaurant in Tokyo, owned by the Hyuga family.

Hinata stared at Itachi. Her first impression of him were 'untouchable' and 'cold'. He seemed charismatic, a perfect Uchiha nobleman. His onyx eyes were dark and mysterious, Hinata could not guess what was on his mind. But, clearly Hinata saw the Adonis's indifferent look at her.

Hinata gritted her teeth in silence. Of course, how could a young workaholic businessman be interested in the concept of love? Hinata immediately decided that she would not spend the rest of her life beside this cold man.

Hey, a cold and indifferent nobleman such as Itachi Uchiha was not her type! What Hinata hoped for, was a simple man who was warm, loving, and loyal. Someone just like Naruto Uzumaki... Yes, Naruto was Hinata's perfect boyfriend who was fiercely opposed by her family; just because his last name was not favorable for the Hyuga.

At the end, it was a story of a tragic first love. They were very young, trampled under the power of the Hyuga Family. When it was all over, Hinata could not find even a trace of Naruto and his mother in Tokyo.

Through a private detective whom Hinata hired, she found out that Naruto and Kushina was harshly driven away out of town. She could breath easily though, finding out that they were living well in Kyoto with the help of Kushina's distant relative.

Hinata realized that she was not strong enough. She decided that she would no longer meet Naruto. She did not want to cause any more trouble for Naruto and his mother who even loved her like her own child.

Goodbye dear first love...

Hinata stared down at the table while sighing lightly. Why did she remember those painful memories she had buried so many years ago then? But it gave her a conviction though. That whatever happen she would survive this forced marriage scheme. And when that time comes, when Hyuga would not be in her name anymore, she would find a way to have her freedom.

When the Hyuga gave her up to became an Uchiha, that was when a new path would open for her.

Hinata calmly attended this family dinner. She glanced at Itachi who was involved in a business conversation with the two family heads.

Hello to you, my future ex-husband.

A grand wedding, one of the most luxurious weddings in Japanese history, was officially held. Itachi, in his black hakama, and Hinata, in her white kimono, stood side by side expressionlessly. The bride and groom did occasionally smile at the guests; a stiff business-like smile.

On the night of the wedding, in their new home given as a wedding gift from the Uchiha family, Itachi left Hinata alone to take care of his company. Hinata did not care, nor did he try to tempt Itachi, who chose to be busy working in his study. She showered, changed into comfortable clothes, and immediately went to sleep without a sound.

Whereas with Itachi, the rigid man who in most of his life was only surrounded by arrogant Uchiha men, did not bother trying to understand a women's feelings. In his view as a practical man, it was enough to indulge a woman with a comfortable life full of luxury and high social standing, to make a woman happy.

A woman who did not want to be tied in this marriage, and a man who was totally blind about the feelings of the opposite sex.

Thus the beginning of their loveless married life
