Chapter 1

After finding out that his son was quirkless Hizashi turns his son over to the Peloppone that they might be able to 'fix' him, TLDR, they do, in truth, Inko is not quite sure which is better, a traumatized son with a quirk, or the effect that being quirkless would have had on Izuku's dream to become a hero…

"your son has an unnecessary joint in his pinky toe, I'm sorry, he's quirkless."

Those fateful words decided my fate that day, my father, desperate for a solution, a problem to which there was no apparent remedy. so he searched, with the frenzy of a desperate parent, with the drive of an unstable man, with the fight or flight that so often before had saved his life, now damning the other to a life of eternal danger and stress.

Hizashi Midoriya, I do not know if I should hate, or appreciate you, you ruined my life but gave me my dream.

section 2

I was returned to my mother at the age of 6, with my Vόskos standing just behind my left shoulder, He, like all the other Peloppone I know, had silver hair, and wore what looked to be a gray trench coat, his 'trench coat' was rather different from the other I had seen, because he had 3 dark blue stripes surrounding the hem of his coat, he had very austere and aristocratic features, and the most soul searching pair of pale purple eyes I have ever seen.

The Peloppone gave me two quirks, not without a fair bit of damage to my body, but they did give me two quirks. My first quirk, aptly named danger sense, allows me to sense the amount of danger I am in at any given moment, it's not very helpful, because by the time I would be in danger, it would be because the danger has gotten so close that I can't dodge it, because otherwise I wouldn't have been in danger. It helps with my second quirk however, that being what I have come to call, Adrena-lend, which grants me exponential strength and size, except I pass out for about two minutes for every minute that Adrena-lend is active.

It's not all rainbows and unicorns though, my chest is covered in scars and stretch marks from one of the lifesaving surgeries I had to undergo, I have nasty scars on my skull where they performed the surgeries necessary to induce and allow me to use a quirk, those scars being just behind my ears and just above and slightly to the right of where my neck meets my head. But I think the most awkward of all of them is that I couldn't remember anything before I was returned to my mother, so here I was an almost 7 year, feeling all the things a seven year old could feel, but being unable to talk, to write, to read…

So Here I was almost 7, a shell of the child I used to be, but filled with power of my quirks. So I started to journal, to remember how to use Japanese, and to find what I used to be.

Section 3

It's funny, when you have a quirk that literally allows you to feel how much danger you are in, a lot of normally scary things become very underwhelming.

Like when a very loud, obnoxious, persistent, cat starts growling at you.

"Katsuki, for the last time, I scored better on the pop quiz because I got lucky on question 4-6…"

"You f*g cheater! Stop talking like you own the place, you useless lab rat! You Deku!"

Oh yeah, he got a real kick out of what the Peloppone called me, Project: Deku, he got a real nice kick out of that when Vόskos was explaining to the principal why the school nurse was not responsible for my health and welfare… it's a story for a different day.

"you f*g nerd! You gonna space out on me when I'm talking to you!"

It's kind of funny, ever since Katsuki figured out how my quirks work, he hasn't physically abused me, which has been, arguably worse than getting physically abused, at least then I could have peace and quiet. I slip my headphones on and move to grab my backpack. Only to find Katsuki has it in his hands and his cronies are looking through it, which is really bad news, there are things in there that I do not want to be shown to the world, much less Katsuki Bakugo. So, I do my best impersonation of Vόskos and slip off my headphones, and I think through how I am going to drawl and do my best soul-searching stare down I can.

Until I was saved by some seriously impeccable timing by my teacher

"Midoriya, are you coming to meet with the Kōchō or not?"

"Yes Sensei Nakamura, I was just being held up."

"well I hope whatever is holding you up gets resolved quickly then."

"I hope so too…"

There was a beat of silence

"Tch, nerd won't even fight for himself, come on extras let's go to that arcade you've been f*g bugging me about."

"I'm really sorry Midoriya, but, I can't just suspend him, it would go on his record, and with his quirk…"

"I know sensei, he'll make a great hero someday, its one of his redeeming personality traits, that and his unyielding drive to work for it."

"Once again, I find you more perceptive than I thought. Kōchō is ready to see you in his office though, and your Vόskos is already in with him. I tried asking them, but they said that it was none of my concern, but your Vόskos did the weird neck touch thingy with the..."

"Yeah the, I have no obligation to answer your questions thing. I'll get moving, thank you Nakamura-sensei."

"Best of luck with getting into UA Midoriya, I think with your quirk you would be an amazing hero."

"the Peloppone think so too Nakamura." A familiar drawl seemed to take all the energy out of Nakamura-sensei, and all the blood from his face, Vόskos has that kind of effect on people. "Really though, Deku, it is incredibly rude to keep me waiting like this."

"Yes Vόskos." I bow asking for forgiveness, he likes these little power plays, after a few seconds I am released with two snaps of his fingers

"thank you Vόskos, I will put more effort into my timeliness from now on."

"Good, now join me with your Kōchō, we have rather pressing issues to discuss."

Section 4

"Why did you confiscate Peloppone property, are you under the impression you can wrestle with titans?"

Akira hates dealing with these Peloppone freaks, they act like they rule the world, well with quirks like they do, it would not be much of stretch to assume that though.

"Vόskos, you have to understand, in Japan, quirk supplements are ILLEGAL. I was performing my duties to Japan and my school when I confiscated Midoriya's quirk supplements."

"If this issue hadn't been caught when it did, and if you don't return the Pelopponese Property to me, I will be forced to take them back in a less than diplomatic manner, furthermore, Pelopponese property operates under a different statute than traditional supplements, and if Izuku's isn't back on a modified supplement plan, his quirk will be forever underdeveloped, and will never reach its full potential. Those supplements are necessary."

"as Kōchō of Aldera Junior High, I cannot in good conscious allow a minor to continue with your morally-questionable path to improvement."

"The Peloppone take offense to such accusations, how are you…" Vόskos was starting to get quite heated, until Midoriya interrupted him

"Kōchō-Akira! I know you find these supplements questionable, but I have no doubt they will help me become a hero, please sir, I have worked so hard to get to where I am now. Allow me this, please, Kōchō-sensei." Vόskos was about to berate Midoriya for speaking out of turn until he noticed that this, Akira, figure, was considering what Midoriya had to say.

There was a minute, as Akira left to gather his thoughts.

"Midoriya, we will have to address your habit of speaking above your station."

"yes Vόskos."

"After this meeting you will be dismissed, and you can expect delivery of your updated prescription in the usual fashion."

Izuku hated the usual fashion.

Section 5

Roughly a month later

Recently, Izuku had been feeling his quirks maturing, other than the hour increase to how long he needs to sleep, he also realized that his first quirk, danger sense had reached a new level. Well, today was when he realized that his first quirk had reached a new level.

Katsuki had bumped his shoulder, just like he usually did, but unlike he usually did, Izuku felt that something was tugging at the back of his mind, but he could not figure out what it was. So, thinking deeply about his problem and muttering to himself, he didn't notice the wet noises emanating from the sewer grate until he felt his first quirk flare. By then he had already been wrapped in slime, but it was a good effort, so he waited, while his second quirk was in the process of activating.

"Are you being a good little flesh bag, sitting still so I don't have to fight you, I wonder if you even have a quirk? Poor kid, being quirkless is a rough life."

Izuku almost responded, but it seemed like most of the slime's activity was focused on his mouth, so that is probably a bad Idea.

"Oooh a delayed strength enhancer quirk, this flesh bag really has a unique one, don't see that every day, tell me boy why don't you keep it on all the time? What sort of drawback do you have? It's okay kid it'll be over soon."

But Izuku had been waiting in the shadows, he second quirk finally almost done activating, he began to struggle against the sludge villain, and was moderately successful in removing himself from the sludge annoyance, enough to get a breath in, this was becoming truly irritating, and so with fresh air he began to fight with much more gusto, until he was finally free from the sludge villain.

Izuku fell into his Pankration fighting stance, but in truth he was probably one of the least qualified people who could have possibly been selected by fate to deal with this monster, but here he was. The best he could probably do right now is to try and delay the sludge villain from going anywhere. Of course, they had some comments about Izuku's mental dilemma.

"you really think you can fight me, hero? Your quirk is ill-suited for this kind of combat."

It was then that he realized 3 things at the same time, 1. The sludge villain was backing away if his wet marks on the ground were anything to go by, 2. There was a park where a couple of families were playing together, and 3. All-might's never there when you need him. The sludge villain began running away in earnest to the park, and Izuku became quite desperate, and so despite Vόskos recommendation, he took out the booster the Peloppone gave him, He understood that it might doom him to a world of pain whenever his second quirk activated, and they had yet to find a time limit on it, which meant for all their observations and time frames, what he was about to do, was effectively permanent.

Izuku had no qualms about this, he had no worries about his life in that moment, he only had the danger he could feel emanating from the sludge villain, his quirk induced reaction speed, and a super annoying strength quirk. But it was all he could do, and if the world that that playing him like a fiddle was gonna work, it totally did.

So he took out the syringe, only now realizing just how small it was, the entire needle fit in the palm of his hand, there was probably only 5 ml of liquid in there, but it was now or never, so he removed the safety cap and plunged it into his arm into the only arteries he could see, and pushed. The plunger he found was much more stiff than he thought it would, so it took a precious dozen of seconds to fully inject the booster, and by the end it felt like his arm was burning, but slowly the rest of his body, starting from his chest began to feel the burning of his veins and arteries the pain was mapped into his brain and it almost felt burned into his psyche, his first quirk began to flare up, as he felt his brain begin to experience once more the itching sensation he had began to associate with it, but it didn't turn off after his veins stopped burning, eventually he began to feel drawn towards a direction and not realizing his newfound strength ran towards the danger with an incredible speed.

He found the danger, the sludge villain had reached the park that Izuku had tried his best to keep him away from, and most of the families were in bubbles floating in the air, all except for one of the kids, he was doing the best he could, catching some fairly impressive amounts of slime in these bubbles, but he was losing his momentum, already his bubbles were taking to long to form for him to catch any more of the slime villain, and he was most certainly losing his fight. So Izuku pulled out his mask and put it on, and intercepted the slime villain finding what he needed, a solid point, its' eyes.

Immediately upon noticing this he began to fight with the sludge villain, and started pursuing its eyes, with his newfound speed he got a lot closer than before, but still he was insufficient to fight this monster. Eventually they reached a stalemate of sorts, both staring each other down, the sludge villain had lost at least a fifth of his sludge to the bubbles but that didn't make him any less crafty, and so, preying on Izuku's heroic tendencies, he attacked the bubble kid behind him, Izuku feeling killing intent from the villain, after it missed him, sent him absolutely flying towards the threatened kid, the kid was knocked aside by the villain and would've been far more broken if he had hit the wall like his original trajectory suggested.

None the less this distraction was sufficient for the villain to escape one again, from certain annoyance.

And so Izuku had the boy pop his bubbles as he caught the family members and set them down, his first quirk flashing angrily whenever he did so, but still he caught them. And after catching the families he found the boy had walked up to him…

"Hero-san, do you think that I can become a hero?"

Izuku immediately began to feel his anxieties creep up in his mind

"Do you think that my quirk could be a hero's quirk?"

He didn't know how to respond, what would Vόskos say, no that's a bad Idea, what would All-might say, what would he want All-might to say?

"Alright kid, let me think… this will sound corny, but you fit it alright, even if you think your quirk isn't up to snuff, you most certainly are, you should go into heroics because the world needs you to be a hero, not your teacher, not your mother, but because the world needs you ." He did his best to sound inspiring, thinking back to All-might's views on the subject, and thinking back to what he imagined All-might would say to him on his toughest nights.

"Thank you, Hero-san."

"I must be off, the work of a hero never stops." Which actually meant he could feel his second quirk deactivating and he needed to grab his stuff and get out of here before somebody found his passed out body or his stuff. So he ran, leaving a family, hopefully, inspired by his words and his hopeful profession, and reached his stuff in the tunnel, but he figured he probably only had about 15 more seconds just based on how tired he was beginning to feel, he grabbed his backpack, 10 seconds, he looked around for places he could hide, and eventually he found a particularly thick set of bushes, 5 seconds, he jumped over the dividing hedges and crawled his way under the bushes. Then, he passed out.

Section 6

All-might had observed all of Izuku's fight with the sludge villain, had observed him using what looked to be far more potent trigger, had heard his words to the little boy, had observed his quirk and his character, and had decided that this was a boy he would be okay with being his successor, Hopefully he makes it into U.A. after all, his first judgement had been very mixed, the booster just being in his backpack he found suspicious, but he did use the boost to save the family in the park, not to worry, he would've stepped in if he thought the vigilante couldn't handle it, he was confused however when he saw the vigilante rush back, grab a backpack that had been left in the tunnel, look around in a hurry, while his muscle form(?) began to shrink, by the time he was to the bushes he was probably around 6 foot, but as he made it over the bushes and under the hedges he looked completely worn out, until he actually didn't quite make it all the way under the hedge and had most certainly passed out.

What a fascinating quirk

I should probably check up on the young man, All-might, we have a situation down by the elementary school, there's been a robbery, but now they're using the school as hostages…

The work of a hero never stops, I should use that line next time I have to escape the press.

A/N

So, first chapter, I actually feel pretty good about it, if you notice I make a decent bit of grammatical mistakes that you would like to help fix, feel free to message me about beta reading, I actually don't know how that works at all, but feel free to explain/improve my, uh, "writing".

It was an absolute blast, and I am totally hyped to see how the story goes!

(I didn't prewrite any of this, so everything is based off my outline and this is the only chapter I've got, fear not citizens! The only things I still enjoy in life are gloating about tesla stock, piano and fanfiction, so you have nothing to fear, the next chapter will appear! Next week?)
