Chapter 7-A Family Reunion

The Potters at Hogwarts were still worried for their brothers, who were hidden away somewhere. There had been no news for weeks and it turned out Samuel or Mr Jordon as the rest of the Potter kids knew him, he'd gone away for a while as well, presumably to keep an eye on Jack and Kaz.

Harry had been right to send Hedwig back to Private Drive. They had been starting to get depressed and some of them had even started getting into trouble. All of them had even refused to cook Christmas dinner. Hedwig, in her own way, managed to get the Potter's at Private Drive to stop brooding for the time being. To all of the Potter siblings, the year seemed to be going very slowly.

"Still, just about halfway through the year" Emma said to James, Michael, Beth and Lily Alice and Hedwig.

It was the second day of the Spring Term and Hermione had returned to Hogwarts at least one or two days before and she had been disappointed to learn that Neither Harry and Ron had learnt who Nicholas Flamel was. She had also forgotten that Holly and Rose had gone to Romania and therefore had not made any progress as well.

Harry had found a number of defence books and learnt the shield charm very successfully. He was also learning a number of jinxes that had various effects on people such as making them float in the air and turning their fingers to jelly.

The next day Harry got more news from Emma as Hedwig returned.

11/01/92

Dear Harry, Holly and Rose

We've come to a mutual decision here at Private Drive. We've decided to start feeding the Dursleys again. Some of us feel guilty about ruining their Christmas dinner, all of us however have found that their glares are getting to us. However the most important reason is that we've more or less run out of the food you sent us back at Christmas. And we can't keep eating those cockroach clusters forever, can we? At school, things have been nicer ever since I beat up Peri Polkiss, but most of them are the same people that spent the last 5 years teasing us about every little thing. I know some of them we can call friends but the rest of them, I don't think we can ever call friends. It's good that the rest of us are going to Hogwarts. We're really missing you three. Hedwig is great and all but nothing can beat a great hug from our older Brother and sisters. We can't believe it's been 132 days since we all last saw each other and when you three get back, we want you to bear that in mind.

Happy New Year

With Love

Emma, Lily, James, Michael and Beth.

P.S. Have you heard any news about Jack and Kaz? We haven't heard any news at all.

P.P.S. Jack and Kaz are what we are referring to our other brothers now

Hermione joined Harry, Holly and Rose and saw the three frowning.

"Want to talk about it?" asked Hermione sympathetically.

The Triplets looked up at Hermione and Harry spoke wistfully, "Not Right now but thank you for asking anyway, Hermione."

Hermione then left to give the Potter triplets some time to themselves.

On the Night of 18th-19th January, News came on the wizarding wireless that caused concern for Harry, Holly and Rose. It seemed on the surface to be something that did not affect them in any way but remembered what Samuel had said 'I've Moved the two of them somewhere a lot safer.' They heard about events in Cyprus including massive outbursts of Magic and reports of armed men attacking a hospital. It sounded frantic in Cyprus and the reports getting more and more vague. That was until a group of unidentified people emerged from there and escaped in a muggle vehicle. The Potter trio sensed that it was their brothers who had just barely survived their ordeal at the end of October. They could only assume their other brothers and sister had heard or seen it on muggle Television.

February arrived and after some flurry's of snow the weather began to thaw somewhat. Flowers began blossoming again, and at the end of the month another important exchange of letters happened.

29/02/92

Dear Emma, Lily, Beth, James and Michael

We've missed you lots. Spring seems to have arrived here at Hogwarts. Some amazing things have happened in recent weeks. First off, We have found Nicholas Flamel, he's the only known maker of the philosophers stone, which can produce the elixir of life that grants immortality and apparently can turn any metal into gold and that's what we think Hagrid's pet is guarding.

Secondly we won our quidditch match against Hufflepuff which now means we're in the lead for both the Quidditch cup and house cup.

Some not so good news and quite probably boring now. It seems Snape is putting pressure on Quirrell to get past the three headed-dog. Also Exams are coming up, Ron and I believe we've got plenty of time to study although Hermione has threatened to kill us if we don't start studying rigorously and apparently Holly and Rose are 'skimming' through the subjects we've covered. I say 'skimming' they're probably like me and Ron but most likely being very sneaky about it.

Speaking about studying and lessons, it seems Hermione is shocked that I turned out to be better at defence than she was. I've been doing a lot of reading and borrowing a lot of books from the library ever since we arrived here. I personally think and I'm trying not to trump my own trumpet here, I think I've gotten really good about it. Anyway, how are the Dursleys keeping? Remember, no matter what happens, let us know if they become unbearable or outright hostile.

We really miss you and wish you were here.

Love from

Harry, Holly and Rose

P.S. We're wondering if there was any news of Jack and Kaz. We've been in a complete information blackout here and wanted to know if there was any new information.

Harry sent Hedwig off with the letter for their siblings still at private drive and then went to bed. In the common room, Holly who had been unable to sleep, listened to the wizarding wireless for a while. She ignored a brief news update which told listeners about a incident in Albania as she left to go to bed.

Hedwig spent several days at Private Drive, keeping watch over her master's brothers and sisters. Many developments occurred during those days which Emma put in a letter to their brother and sisters.

When the letter was ready, Hedwig returned to Harry and he read Emma's letter and passed it on to his sisters. It did not make for positive reading when the older Potter triplets read it.

10/03/92

Dear Brother and Sisters of ours

Harry, Holly and Rose, things are only just about bearable right now. Vernon is keeping himself restrained for the time being but we're feeling less and less comfortable being in the same building as him and Lily is just outright terrified about what might happen. We're going to remind him that Hagrid may want to come round sometime to practice some transfiguration. But if you can just in case tell Hagrid to be prepared to come round. Don't send him unless one of us writes to you but make sure he's ready to come round if that eventuality happens.

Anyway we've gone over all the different books you've given and sent to us several times over. I myself want to try and make some of these potions, but as we all know, if I were to set up a cauldron here, the Dursleys, especially Uncle Vernon, would have a fit, knock the thing over and possibly burn a hole in the floor. Then there'd be another fit from them about said hole in the floor.

We get to see you three again in three months. Please try not to find anymore trolls or dodgy mirrors before then. We want our brother back intact and our sisters to make sure he comes back intact.

Also at the end of your last letter, you asked if there was any more news from Jack and Kaz. You'll be happy to know that they're back in the country, although they won't actually be back here for several more weeks yet. They suddenly returned to school a few days ago and they look so...Angry. The attack and then their ordeal afterwards must have worse than we thought. And it looked awful when we were taken to the hospital to visit them before they were spirited away. We're just glad they're back. I think they only want to go through the story the bare minimum, so they'll tell all of us when you return.

Again we want you to return to us safe and intact and we want you, our dear sisters, to keep an eye on him.

We love you lots

Emma, James, Beth, Michael and Lily

The Triplets were troubled by this letter. Maybe withholding Christmas dinner hadn't been such a good idea, although they were glad to hear about the return of Harry Kaz and James Jack, who were now referred to as Kaz and Jack.

"Hagrid, what are you doing in the Library?" asked Ron inquisitively, which was unusual for him, namely because he didn't want to get worked up unnecessarily about many, many things, the main exceptions being about wizarding chess and Quidditch.

Later in the evening, Harry, Holly, Rose, Hermione and Ron made their way to Hagrid's hut and found out, to their horror and disbelief, that he had a dragons egg and an insane plan to hatch it and somehow become its foster mum.

Just as they were about to leave, Harry, Holly and Rose spoke to Hagrid about the letter that had been sent by their younger siblings.

"Uncle Vernon is just too angry to care right now. They're going to try warning him first but... we think they'll want you to visit soon."

"Lousy muggles" Grumbled Hagrid "No offence Hermione".

"None taken. Why do Harry, Holly, Rose and their siblings have to live with Aunt and Uncle? I mean there's very little love, perhaps, even some..." It was obvious Hermione did not want to use hatred as a word but it was very much implied by her leaving the end of the sentence open ended.

"We've nowhere else to go" said Holly sadly.

"They're the only family we have" replied Harry bitterly, "besides each other" he then said with a ghost of a smile on his face.

"Harry, you're the boy who lived. Many families would gladly take you in, mine included" Said Ron.

"I'm sure yours would Ron." Replied Rose with a small grin directed at Ron, who blushed for a moment. Ron then spoke up again.

"Having said that, Mum would probably adopt every child in the wizarding world if she could. "

"Dumbledore want'd them ter grow up away from Wizards an' Witches, although Samuel I think agreed fer very different reasons but I don't think he want'd to put you there either." Said Hagrid. "I also understan' that there's som' kinda protection at yer Aunt an' Uncle's that fer som' reason can't be pu' up anywhere else. I'm no' entirely sure but ya could ask Dumbledore yerself at som' point. Or yer could always ask Samuel, I'm sure he could give ya some information about this"

"When we next get the chance..." began Harry with a hint of curiousity and determination in his voice.

"...We will ask both of them." Finished Holly with a sense of definitiveness.

"We'll hound them if need be."Added Rose, with humour lacing her voice.

"Anyway give me notice an' I'll go an' talk ter the rot'en Dursleys, though not sure how easy tha'll be with a baby dragon."

17/03/92

Dear brothers and sisters

We have shown Hagrid the letter you sent and have told him to be ready to go and head round. If any of you feel threatened or if anything bad happens, do not hesitate to tell us.

Anyway Hagrid seems to have gone insane and got his hands on a dragon egg from some random person in a pub near here. It's hatched now, actually hatched the other day. Before any of you say anything, we have managed to persuade him that it would be better for the dragon to be kept at the dragon reserve in Romania and Ron's brother Charlie will be picking it up with some of his friends. Hagrid has decided to the name dragon Norbert. Norbert has been growing rather quickly however and while we've all been trying to help, it is causing Hagrid to neglect his duties. We do believe that someone will notice the longer this goes on. We also think Malfoy may have glimpsed Norbert hatching. If he knows and we suspect he does, then we're all in massive trouble. So the sooner Norbert goes away, the better. For Everyone.

Anyway all seems to be going good in everything else. We've earned a lot of points and Snape has only been able take less than half of them back off. We should be on course for winning the house cup but dealing with an illegal dragon can scupper all that. Seriously we don't know why we've agreed to help, this probably the most stupid thing we've all done.

Seriously though, if the Dursleys get out of line, let us know. Hedwig is going to be staying with you for the time being, just in case anything happens.

We love you all very much

Harry, Holly and Rose

Xx

P.S. Can you send a bunch of food containers if you can? We'll let you know why later.

Having sent the letter off to their younger siblings, the triplets went to Hermione to see if she could help them learn the preservation charm, seeing as she knew most spells before they're supposed to learn them.

Reminding the Dursleys about Hagrid, and their older siblings expected treatment of them and the expectation of greater respect most likely wound up having the opposite effect, especially considering Vernon was now looking at them with a lot more contempt than ever before. They only stayed in the same room as him when it was meal times.

They amassed a collection of food containers over the next couple of days although they were unsure why they were needed by their older siblings.

The expected blow came about a week after they reminded the Dursleys about the Hagrid threat that had been levelled at them. Emma, Michael and Lily Alice were making the family dinner. The dinner, which was a beef stew, was a favourite of Vernon and it was one he was not willing to share with undesirables especially those he called nieces and nephews.

They were scooping out the Dursley's portions of food first but as Emma went to scoop up some for herself and her siblings, she found the ladle forcibly taken from her hand. They looked up to see Vernon massively fuming, his rage undisguised.

"Listen freaks, I am sick of you lot ungratefully taking our food, which we pay for I might add. From now on, you'll all eat what we give you. The same goes for your stupid siblings when they return from that freak school of theirs, and please, do let them know that."

The trio were shocked and somewhat angry at their uncle's behaviour and then, as soon as they pulled themselves together Emma tried reminding Vernon about the Hagrid threat.

"Remember what Hagrid told you if We're..." She never finished the sentence because Vernon became even more angry and in a sudden fit of outright aggression, shoved Emma back against the kitchen counter, winded Michael with a punch to the stomach and backhanded Lily Alice.

"I don't care what some oversized freak says. From now on, you'll all do as we tell you to or you get no food. Now, go to your fucking rooms, I'm sick of the sight of you!"

Vernon then grabbed Emma by the arm and forcibly threw her out of the kitchen. She stumbled and landed on the floor. Michael and Lily Alice dashed past Vernon, not wanting the same thing to happen to them and to check up on their sister, who was wincing slightly.

With tears in Emma and Lily Alice's eyes and Michael's eyes filled with contempt for Vernon, they went to their rooms and sent a letter to Harry, Holly and Rose.

When Harry got the letter Emma sent, He was beyond furious. Only moments earlier, Harry, Hermione and Ron had been ecstatic. Ron had been writing a reply to his brother Charlie about Charlie's friends taking Norbert to the dragon reserve in Romania when Hedwig turned up. After he read Emma's letter, he marched straight to Hagrid's, in spite of the fact it was after curfew. Ron and Hermione didn't know what to do and not knowing where Holly and Rose, decided to stay put.

Harry showed Hagrid the letter and Hagrid himself was furious. Norbert then sneezed, accidently burning Harry's arm. Harry then took himself to the hospital wing while Hagrid calmed down Norbert.

Later Harry was in the hospital wing in one of the beds, having been treated for the burns. He had been interrogated by both Madam Pomfrey and Professor McGonagall. He refused to give away Hagrid and Norbert and repeatedly said he had been making potions. They, of course, did not believe him but could not prove otherwise although they could tell that the burns he had sustained were not potions related. He told Holly, Rose, Hermione and Ron the next day.

Meanwhile Life at Private drive had reached a new low. The Potters were refusing to make food for the Dursleys since they were not allowed to have any themselves. This resulted in the Dursley's having Petunia's awful food while the Potters themselves relied upon secret deliveries of food sent by Holly and Rose and Harry. The triplets were actually, in secret, creating a stockpile of food for themselves and their brothers and sisters for future instances of major arguments with the Dursley's.

She had received a reply from Rose who informed them that Harry had spoken to Hagrid and that Hagrid would be coming around very soon. Vernon paled considerably when he was told. This resulted in the Dursley's being very worried and the Potters still at Private Drive, resumed making meals for themselves and sent their older siblings a letter telling them so.

A few days later, Hagrid arrived on a motorcycle outside number 4 Private Drive, having given Norbert to Charlie Weasley's friends and he was now going to confront the Dursleys over their treatment of the Potters.

Remembering what happened on the Island many months earlier when Hagrid knocked on the door of the hut they were staying in, Petunia let him in before he could knock the door. This also had the added benefit, for the Dursleys, of reducing any chance of the neighbours seeing him enter their house.

He stepped inside the house and barked at the Dursleys, "Righ' all three o' ya, in tha' lounge NOW! I'll be speakin' ter ya shortly. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE." The Dursleys fearing what this giant of a man would do to them, complied with his orders.

Hagrid went to the rooms of the Potters. He entered one of the rooms and saw that Emma, James and Beth were in the room. They all ran to him and gave him massive hugs. Then Beth pulled away and went to the next room and brought in Michael and Lily Alice, who saw Hagrid and ran toward him and also gave him very massive hugs.

"No 'Arry Kaz an' James Jack still?" Hagrid asked, mildly surprised.

"They're back at school but rehabilitation is taking longer so Mr Jordon is letting them stay with him somewhere up north or London. Not quite sure, seems they change locations a fair bit and yet we're never too sure how they turn up to school on time." Michael explained to Hagrid.

"Anyway, yer letter said the walrus 'urt ya three when 'e lost 'is temper" indicating Emma, Michael and Lily Alice.

"We were, but we've long since recovered. It was more shock than anything else, I think." Said Emma.

"Yeah, a few bruises and scrapes but otherwise fine." Added Lily Alice.

"I think this only merits a severe talkin' to. But I migh' threaten te 'em into differen' animals. Probably should try an' show them a thestral, it migh' just scare 'em a little."

The Potter siblings didn't know what a thestral was but they figured that when they got to Hogwarts they would find out.

"Erm... Hagrid would you mind telling us how Harry, Holly and Rose are doing? While they send a lot of letters, those letters only tell us so much" asked Emma.

"Sure, I think them Dursleys can squirm a little longer, I suppose. It'll serve them right."

The Potters laughed and James asked, "So, what about this Dragon we've been hearing about?"

Hagrid proceeded to talk about Norbert, what happened when Harry got burnt, about Hogwarts itself. They talked about Harry Kaz and James Jack, what was going on at Primary school, what they're thinking Hogwarts is like and their worries about Harry, Rose and Holly. It was the early hours of the morning before Hagrid went to reprimand the Dursleys. It was a sight the Potters at Private drive really enjoyed.

Meanwhile, at Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall had just come to the hospital wing with Draco Malfoy, Neville Longbottom and Holly and Rose. Draco had been accusing Harry of trying to smuggle a Dragon out of Hogwarts, which A) seemed very far-fetched and B) was just being disruptive in general. Then she caught Neville Longbottom out of bed, who was trying to warn Harry about Draco knowing about the Dragon. And finally there was Holly and Rose who were in the astronomy were Draco claimed the Dragon swap was going to happen. They claimed they were feeling a bit homesick and had just wanted to see the night sky from a new view.

They saw Harry asleep in his hospital bed. Malfoy loudly shouted that he claimed that Harry was faking it only to get reprimanded by Professor McGonagall and told to shut up by Rose and Holly.

"I think it's a bit late for people trying not to wake me up, professor" Harry said very wearily and causing Draco to earn glares from Professor McGonagall, Holly and Rose.

Harry had been tucked very securely into his hospital bed and as result felt a bit hot but cosy. He adjusted his position as best he could so he could reach his glasses and better see the people in the room.

"Wha's goin' on Professor?" asked Harry in his exhausted state, his head occasionally dropping forwards.

Professor McGonagall sighed, paused for a moment then asked "Mr Potter, are you involved in any plan to smuggle a dragon out of Hogwarts?"

Harry's eyes widened in surprise. It did help however that he was sleepy and somewhat dazed otherwise his look might have been interpreted as a confession. Harry took a moment to process the question before replying, "I did not know we even had dragons at Hogwarts, Professor. No I am not trying to smuggle one out."

"We don't have any dragons at Hogwarts, Mr Potter. Mr Malfoy here was insinuating that you and Hagrid had acquired a baby dragon and were attempting to smuggle it out of the astronomy tower tonight and that you've been planning to since before yesterday."

Harry momentarily closed his eyes, leant his head back and groaned before leaning his head back up and opening his eyes.

Professor McGonagall raised an eyebrow at this, "Care to expand on that, Mr Potter?"

"Sorry Professor, I'm just wanting to get back to sleep." Harry answered truthfully although he had hoped not to get in discussion with McGonagall about dragons, he was more concerned about the time that he was questioned at and the fact he wanted to get back to sleep.

Professor McGonagall accepted his answer with a small nod.

Harry continued, "With all due respect Professor, I've been stuck in here for half the week and therefore, I'm in no condition to go up to the astronomy tower. And I know that you can't have caught Hagrid because he left early this evening."

Professor McGonagall looked at Harry in surprise. She had been unaware that Hagrid had left . There was normally no problems with this but she was wondering how Harry knew he was gone before she did.

Malfoy took the opportunity to stir the pot, so to speak, "Hah the brute probably took it with him and chucked it into the wild."

Professor McGonagall silenced him with a glare and turned to Harry. "Mr Potter, how did you know Hagrid was out of the castle when I or any other teacher didn't even he had left?" She inquired with suspicion heavily lacing her voice.

"He's doing me a favour, professor" Harry replied uncertainly while glancing towards Neville and Malfoy as they didn't know about his siblings.

McGonagall could tell he was hiding something and her eyes narrowed as a result. "Is there something you would like to tell me, Mr Potter" She asked sternly.

Harry looked worriedly at Malfoy, who was smirking and Neville who did look somewhat lost. "No Professor...it's nothing"

Professor McGonagall became rather angry at his response. "Are you telling me, in all seriousness, that you sent Hagrid over nothing? I highly doubt that it is nothing."

Harry panicked for a moment, then after glimpsing a slight movement in Holly's eye, then spoke up again. "Look Professor, could Malfoy and Neville leave the room? Holly and Rose already know what the problem is but I'd rather that it be kept as private as possible."

Malfoy chose at that moment to be an annoying prat. "No way am I leaving Potter, I wanna hear about this!" he said pompously, like he thought he deserved to hear about what Harry wanted to talk about.

"MR MALFOY" Professor McGonagall angrily spoke making everyone in the room jump. "Mr Potter is entitled to his privacy and is allowed to have who he chooses to have in the room with him when talking about private matters. Now you and Mr Longbottom will wait outside the hospital wing until my business in here is concluded then we shall go to my office to discuss your breaking curfew along with both Miss Jordon's."

Malfoy glared at Harry and continued glaring until he had left while Neville looked at Harry in confusion but saw that Harry wanted to keep this as private as possible. After all, he had things he wanted to keep private too.

After the door had closed, Professor McGonagall turned to Harry and asked "Well, Mr Potter?"

When Harry did not respond, Professor McGonagall took out her wand and with a wave of her wand, said "Silencio", which silenced any noise coming from either side of the hospital wing doors. She gave him a reassuring smile and explained that neither Neville nor Malfoy could hear what went on inside the hospital wing.

"Can you now explain to me what is going on because my patience is wearing a bit thin?" Professor McGonagall asked with her impatience visibly showing, her eyes narrowing.

"I understand you know about my siblings, Professor?" asked Harry a bit timidly, unsure of how she would react.

"Y...your siblings?" asked Professor McGonagall, surprised and annoyed with herself at having forgotten about the fact that he was not an only child as was widely believed. Harry nodded in response.

Harry pulled out a stack of letters and began sifting through them until he found the one that was causing him to be questioned in the first place.

Harry, Holly and Rose

It's finally happened. Uncle Vernon has gotten really angry and he wants to return to the days of when we were starved. We refused and as result some of us have received a few injuries. I've got some bruises and a carpet burn on my arm. Lily Alice has a bruise to her face from where Vernon backhanded her and Michael has been having stomach ache since Vernon punched him in the face.

Uncle Vernon may be very pissed off but as long as none of us get food, neither does he unless you count Aunt Petunia's practically inedible cooking.

Love you lots

Emma and the rest of us here at Private Drive

McGonagall was seething by the time she finished the letter. "Why did you not come to me about this, Mr Potter? And why are you two mentioned in this letter?"

Holly and Rose began by clearing up the second question before Harry could respond to the first.

"Well the reason we're mentioned in the letter professor-"

"Is because we're also Harry's sisters and that-"

"That our surnames are actually cover until-"

"The rest of our siblings join us when they come here"

Professor McGonagall was briefly startled by the girls' synchronicity and then Harry decided to answer her first question.

"In response to your first question Professor, it was meant in no disrespect to you but Hagrid seemed the best choice at the time plus our brothers and sisters at home recognise Hagrid and so do the Dursley's. He's the one who introduced us to the wizarding world as well as our primary school teacher who has been watching over us. He gave Holly and Rose his surname to use as cover for the year. When I first saw this letter, I was angry. I tried making potions by myself while I was angry and hence why I am here. There is no one to blame, nothing trying to kill me, not even a dragon." Which was technically true, he didn't believe that Norbert was trying to kill him.

McGonagall was satisfied, "I'm sorry about this intrusion Mr Potter however the detention still stands. And it seems you'll be having some company when you have your detention."

She turned towards Holly and Rose who seemed to have knowing looks on their faces, "Yes you two will be included in that detention and what were you two actually doing in the astronomy tower in any case?"

"It's like we said before Professor we wanted to see the night sky from a different view of the castle and we were feeling a little homesick despite our...less than ideal circumstances and also because we were missing our brothers and sisters and didn't want anyone else to know about them" Said Rose.

"Well okay, and you may have Mr Longbottom and Mr Malfoy joining you in your detention. Mr Longbottom has been very well behaved except for this instance. I do believe he was only trying to help but Mr Malfoy on the other hand..." She grew irritated when thinking about him. "Get some sleep Mr Potter, I'm sure either these two or Miss Granger will deliver your transfiguration homework to you on Monday, along with any other homework that needs delivering."

"Good night Professor. Goodnight you two, don't get into any more trouble" said Harry, tiredly but happily.

"We won't, brother. Goodnight Harry" replied the twins as one but Harry had already put his head on his pillow and was sound asleep. Holly and Rose turned to leave but saw McGonagall looking at Harry with a thoughtful expression on her face. "Professor?" They asked, wondering if she was alright.

"Sorry, seeing him sleeping in that bed just reminded me of when I first saw you all." She went up to his bed and leaning over ever so slightly to remove his glasses and put them on his bedside table. Then she went towards the door but after a few steps she turned, and with a swish of her wand, tucked the covers back over him. She then gestured for Holly and Rose to follow her where they would rejoin Mr Longbottom and Mr Malfoy.

After the night she had dealing with the truant and out of bed students, she felt that Mr Malfoy needed a very stern punishment as he had caused a lot of disruption at a ridiculous time of night.

Sometime passed with the triplets at Hogwarts and remaining siblings in Private Drive maintaining a regular correspondence and things were relatively normal with nothing major going on. That was until one day, an attempt began to take the philosophers stone from Hogwarts.

Harry sent a letter to Emma and the others explaining that he was planning to stop the attempt to take the stone from Hogwarts and explained again why he believed Snape was the responsible party.

Emma was in hysterics and when James came and saw the letter, he was cursing which would've caused him to get into trouble under any other circumstances.

Emma said to Hedwig who was still observing her master's family, "Hedwig, I don't care how tired you are, we're sending you back out in 10 minutes."

Hedwig hooted softly in sympathy as she looked at the pair. This was one occasion where she would exhaust herself. Especially for the family of her master.

Harry and Hermione were standing at the Potion trap devised by Snape and both knew only one of them could get through. Harry, Ron and Hermione had tried to find Holly and Rose before undertaking their effort to stop Voldemort's plans but inexplicably Holly and Rose were no-where to be found.

"Harry, you're a great wizard you know! You and Holly and Rose." Said Hermione, who then very promptly threw her arms around Harry.

"I'm not as good as you" Harry replied with a touch of embarrassment. "I'm fairly sure that Holly and Rose would be saying the same thing if they were here."

"Me?" Hermione said to him, letting go of him in the process, "You're definitely the best at Defence in our year maybe even the next few years and I know Holly and Rose are a match for me as far as transfiguration and potions are concerned. There are so much more important things than books and cleverness, even though I know you are in fact very clever. Friendship, Bravery and... Harry, be careful. Okay?"

Harry slowly nodded and took some deep breaths. Then he spoke to Hermione in a very serious tone, "Hermione, just in case I don't make it, underneath my pillow there's a letter addressed to Emma and the others and also another one for Holly and Rose."

Before Harry could say any more, Hermione gave him another hug but didn't say anything else. She didn't dare to.

"Drink that Hermione, you know what to do."

Hermione nodded and downed the potion she held in her hand. She gave Harry one last worried look, then ran back to help Ron.

Harry proceeded forward to face Snape but instead found himself confront by Quirrell.

"YOU!?"

"Yes me"

"But I thought Snape...he tried to kill me didn't he?"

"No, I tried to kill you. He does seem the type, especially given his animosity towards you."

"And I'm guessing by extension, you bought in the troll at Halloween. Am I correct?"

"You are indeed. Most people wouldn't have suspected poor S-ss-stuttering Pr-Prof-Professor Quirrell."

"But Snape does hate me right?"

"He indeed does. It's really very pathetic. Still willing to continue a feud with a dead man. You see, Snape and your father knew each other when they were both students here. Still he doesn't want you dead. He's actually been thwarting my attempts to steal the stone from this chamber for months. But he won't stop me now and neither will an obnoxious carbon copy of James Potter."

With a snap of his fingers, Professor Quirrell launched ropes towards Harry but Harry was ready for this. With a shout of 'Protego', Harry blocked the attack and the ropes disappeared. Harry then began to counterattack against Quirrell.

"Flipendo!" Harry cried and red sparks shot out towards the defence professor and Quirrell hurriedly decided to show why he was the Defence against the Dark arts professor and shielded himself against the attack.

"Flipendo! Flipendo!" Harry repeated and more red sparks shot towards Quirrell who fended them off easily. The repeated attacks by Harry were beginning to irritate Quirrell who decided to actually stop Harry from launching anymore attacks.

"Damn it Potter! I don't have time for this. Expelliarmus!" He incanted. And with that one spell, Harry found that his wand flew out of his hand. Then with a muttering of 'Pertrificus Totalus', Quirrell froze Harry and Harry fell on his back with a small thud.

"You fight well for a first year Potter. I'm sure that if you learned more, you would be formidable. Unfortunately for you, however, you will not be living much longer. But for the time being, you are safe from death. I have to work the secret out of the mirror then you will die."

Harry mentally rolled his eyes, unable to physically do so at the time. Harry feared what mirror Quirrell was talking about 'Not that Mirror. Please not that Mirror.' He couldn't see what mirror Quirrell was talking about but Harry believed he was talking about the Mirror of Erised.

After a short amount of time had passed, Quirrell got frustrated and eventually said "Help me Master!"

To Harry's shock, a voice responded, "Use the boy!"

Harry was released from the body-bind but then bound by ropes and forcibly moved towards the mirror. He refused to look in the mirror even though he was being held at wand point. He then had to glance at the mirror where he saw himself holding the stone and put it in his pocket then felt something fall into his own pocket. After that he also saw his family in the mirror. Harry's thought at seeing these images was 'fucking hell' and prepared for what was coming next.

"Let me speak to him, face to face."

"Master y...you...you're not strong enough."

"I have strength enough for this."

Harry had a bad feeling about who the other voice was. He made his way towards his wand and had gotten a lot closer to it but he didn't reach it in time. When Harry started had started moving, Quirrell was unfastening his turban. By the time he finished and turned around, Harry noticed a face on the back of Quirrell's head.

"Harry Potter" the face said, very venomously.

"Voldemort" replied Harry with equal venom in his voice.

"Ha ha ha! You can't escape this time, Harry Potter. Look into the mirror and tell me what you can see. Afterwards join me and I can teach you great things" Voldemort said to Harry.

Harry had been backing away while Voldemort was talking and fell onto his bum when he collided with a step. His positioning had been perfect however because his hands had found his wand when he fell.

"Never!" Harry shouted at Voldemort.

"Don't be a fool Harry. There is no such thing as good or evil. There is only power and those too weak to seek it. Help me get the stone and I will show you power beyond your wildest imagination."

"You liar, I'll never help you. You murdered my Parents." As he said this, he began silently cutting his bonds with great difficulty, as he had never attempted silent casting before, but eventually managed to cast the Diffindo spell. The ropes broke and disappeared.

"I gave your mother a choice all those years ago: to stand aside and let me kill you or for her to die with you and your brothers and sisters. I suggest you help me get the stone. What other choice do you have?"

"Just one and it's this! FLIPENDO!" the spell that was fired was not the traditional red sparks that normally happened when cast but more like dozens of small embers or being hit multiple times by a sparkler.

Quirrell and Voldemort were taken by surprise and screamed in agony. Harry took advantage of the incapacitated Voldemort/Quirrell and used his rage to fuel his advantage further.

"Flipendo! Flipendo! Flipendo!" Harry repeatedly cast. The result was that Quirrell's robes were beginning to get incinerated.

"Kill him you fool. Kill him at once. Use your wand!" Voldemort commanded. Quirrell began to respond to his master's command but Harry was quicker to respond than Quirrell was to act.

"Expelliarmus" Harry cried. Quirrell's wand flew out of his hand and into Harry's. This demonstrated that Harry's repertoire of spells was increasing and had excellent instincts that were not to be underestimated. With a second wand now in hand, Harry unleashed a barrage of spells that Quirrell could no longer respond to magically. One Flipendo jinx that Harry cast wound up becoming more like a fireball than the sparks or embers that had emerged earlier.

Quirrell screamed and lunged for Harry, braving the fire of spells coming from the young wizard. He grabbed Harry by the throat which forced Harry to drop the wands he was holding. But Quirrell in his attempt to kill Harry physically, found himself subjected to a scolding which began turning him to dust.

"Aaaaaagggghh! What is this magic?"

"Fool! Kill him with your wand! Pick it up Now!"

Quirrell reached for one of the dropped wands but Harry, now had a weapon he could use against both Voldemort and Quirrell and he reached up to grab the professor's face and grabbed the wrist holding the wand. Quirrell's hand fell off when his wrist turned to dust and his face was crumbling in on itself.

Voldemort realised Quirrell could not win and began extracting himself from his host.

"Master, what are you doing?!"

"You are beaten and your body is nearing its end. I have no further use for you and it's pointless for me to stay as I can't get the stone by myself. This is now a lost cause."

As Quirrell continued to crumble to dust, Voldemort's wraith finally extracted itself and in one final attempt to kill Harry, charged at Harry and passed through him. Harry collapsed exhausted and bruised but with all his strength asked one last question of Voldemort.

"Professor Quirrell was never going to live after this anyway, no matter what happened, was he?"

"You are right, Potter. He was just a puppet. A dead man walking really, he never would've survived. You are smart, I shall remember this in future." Voldemort's wraith fled as footsteps were heard coming to the chamber.

Harry laid on his back about to pass out but managed to look at Quirrell, whose whole body was becoming dust. Quirrell managed to get some last words out before he became nothing but dust. Quirrell's breathing was laboured and parts of the inside of his head were visible, pulsating with dying life. With one final effort and a very weak smile, Quirrell spoke.

"You're pretty good." And with those final words, Quirrell turned completely to dust.

And Harry, who could only listen, finally fell unconscious as a result of his injuries and massive lack of energy. His eyes closed as footstep drew ever closer.

Dear Emma

I think Harry might have mentioned me, my name is Hermione Granger. Your Brother and sisters and I have become friends whilst at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He also spoke about your other brothers and sisters but said to keep things simple and just send them to you as you're almost always the one who first reads the letters.

Harry mentioned that he warned you that he, Ron and myself would be going into a dangerous situation. Firstly, Let me reassure you that Harry is alive but has fallen into a coma and may not wake for several days. Ron also sustained a concussion because he got knocked out when a giant wizards chess piece exploded with him on it. I'm sorry I can't write more, I'm just coming to terms with recent events myself. I promise to tell you more in a few days, or Harry will as he should be up and moving around again by then and he should know more and will be able to fill in the blanks.

Please don't worry, Your brother has been very brave and saved the stone from fall into You-know-who's hands. Your Brother is probably the bravest person, I've ever met.

I'll make sure someone gets in touch with you soon.

Hermione Granger

P.S. Hedwig seems absolutely exhausted so I've sent a school owl instead. He has instructions to stay with you while you write your reply. Please address it to Ron, Hagrid, myself or Holly and Rose as not a lot of people know you exist. Not that I think you needed a reminder of that last point. So don't worry, I know Harry wouldn't want you to.

"What the hell happened to you Harry? Please wake up soon." Emma whispered to herself as she sat on her bed crying.

Lily Alice, James and Michael found Emma sitting on her bed a short while later. The trio exchanged looks which they all understood. Michael and Lily Alice went to cook for the Dursleys and their siblings while James comforted Emma. They did need to have some food and Emma really needed some if the letter was anything to go by. They were better off saving their secret stockpile of food for future use. Besides, they thought that if Emma heard what Petunia said when they broke the news, there would've been furious sparks flying.

Harry woke up after a few days and he felt like he'd been clubbed by a troll or one of McGonagall's giant chess pieces. He looked around to see he was back in the hospital wing.

"I'm glad to see you have woken up, Harry" Said a grandfatherly voice.

"Professor quick, Voldemort, Professor Quirrell the stone, it's..."

"It's alright Harry. Voldemort has fled and the stone has been destroyed and Quirrell has died as a result."

"Destroyed? But what about your friend, Nicholas Flamel?"

"Oh you know about Nicholas. You really did your research well, you and your friends."

"Professor, without the stone, won't he die?" asked Harry with worry in his voice.

"Yes he will die, but he agreed it was for the best. He did make sure that he and his wife had enough elixir to set their affairs in order. In fact, he did not seem too troubled about losing it."

Harry frowned. After all his and his friends efforts and all the trouble that ensued, the Flamels were going to die.

Dumbledore then proceeded to give a small speech about how death was not much different from sleep. Then the two had a discussion about the Mirror of Erised and how people had gone mad looking at it. Harry also felt disappointed and upset at himself at how he handled looking at the mirror during his confrontation.

"Professor, why did Voldemort, sorry You know who..."

"Call him Voldemort Harry, fear of a name only increases the fear itself."

"Why did Voldemort think I'd be able to help him retrieve the stone from the mirror?"

"Well I think Harry, that Voldemort was so focused on the mirror that he failed to notice the stone transfer to your pocket. It was so close to him and he never noticed."

"Quirrell tried to get me to look in the mirror and at first, I only could see my family but as I looked away, I saw myself, just myself, with the stone putting it in my pocket and then I felt it in real life in my pocket." Harry said, his eyes showing his confusion at that sequence of events.

Dumbledore smiled sadly at him, "I think I can explain that Harry. I believe your desire to see your family back together and with your mother and father led to the first image you saw. Your love for your family is very strong indeed and Voldemort would never have understood that. Then your desire to protect the stone at all costs led to what happened afterwards."

"Okay..." Harry replied unsure of himself, "Then could you answer me this? Why did Voldemort come after me in the first place? And why did Quirrell turn to dust when he and Voldemort tried to me?"

"I can't answer your first question now Harry, for now is not the time to answer it. I can answer your second question though. You see when Voldemort attacked you back all those years ago, your mother sacrificed herself for you and your siblings left behind a mark that meant Voldemort could never touch you. It was love that saved you then and it saved you a few nights ago Harry. Voldemort doesn't understand it at all."

"He gave her a choice, and she chose to give up her life for ours even though she didn't have to." Harry said, understanding Dumbledore's explanation. "What about Snape?"

"Professor Snape, Harry" Dumbledore said, quietly and subtlety telling Harry off for not properly addressing a teacher.

"Anyway" Harry continued, "Why does he hate me? Quirrell did mention something about him and my father back when they were in school."

"They held a famous rivalry back when they were students here, not unlike the one you have with Mr Malfoy. Then one day, there was an incident which Professor Snape has never forgiven your father for..."

"Which was?"

"Your father saved his life."

"Okay, was not expecting that one. That's a more than a tad odd."

"Indeed, it's peculiar and it seems that he's gone out of his way to protect you this year in his attempt to resolve the life debt. I'm not sure how successful he's been though."

"And does he know about the others?"

"I do not believe so. His reaction may be... difficult to gauge. Some of you look more like your father than your mother but some of you look more like your mother. Professor Snape never held the same grudge against Lily as he did against James, it's possible he may overlook the fact they are also your father's children."

"I hope so, they've been through enough this year. Explosions, being separated from us, and just generally worrying about everything, I'm sure they'll be happy to see us again."

"Harry, the person who helped hide your sisters this year, how did he do it?"

"I don't know. I'm sure he'll say at somepoint."

"Make sure your family know you're safe, Harry. After all, as you said they've been through enough."

Just then, Madam Pomfrey, looking thoroughly annoyed, barged her way towards Harry and began fussing over him.

"Professor Dumbledore, I thought I told you to tell me when he was awake so I could examine if there was anything that needed treatment. You may discuss Mr Potter's girlfriend with him when I have finished."

"HEY! Why does everyone think I have a girlfriend? Seriously, this just gets more annoying the more I hear it." Harry whined as he was examined by Madam Pomfrey, who was examining for virtually injury she could think of.

Dumbledore laughed in response. "When you keep secrets, Mr Potter, people will guess what the secret is. The Longer the secret is held, you'll find the guesses will become stranger. That's why it is very hard to keep secrets here at Hogwarts." He chuckled then spied some sweets on Harry's bedside table, "Ah, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans..."

Once Harry got out of the hospital, he wrote a letter to Emma and the others back at Private Drive. In that Letter, he described the final events for him, Holly and Rose. He wrote about his leaving the hospital wing, the winning of the house cup and the narrow defeat to Ravenclaw in the Quidditch cup. Harry also wrote about how much He, Holly and Rose missed them. Emma and the others at Private Drive eagerly anticipated their return from Hogwarts the following morning.

When the triplets returned from Hogwarts, they rushed into the house, ignoring calls from their uncle and ran to one of the bigger bedrooms in the basement. There all of the other Potters, except Jack and Kaz, were assembled and they all hugged each other with intense emotion and shed some tears at the happiness of seeing each other.

It was sunset when the triplets and their siblings saw James Jack and Harry Kaz emerge from a car. The Triplets were shocked at the sight that greeted them but rushed forward all the same and gave the pair a massive hug each. They all went to relax in the house and ate a good meal for once, partly because they used their own food reserves than rely on the Dursleys to provide it. There would be time to catch up the following day.

"...that was some crazy fight I did have at Hogwarts." Harry commented in the park where all the Potter children were gathered.

"Think we'll ever see him?" asked Michael curiously as he looked through a stack of history books from both the Muggle and Wizarding worlds.

"I have no doubt about that. I wouldn't want any of you to see him let alone meet him but I think he'll be coming after all of us again, one day." Harry replied worriedly.

"How about you two?" asked Holly curiously to Jack and Kaz.

"Well, it's a long story and we won't tell all of it now but..." replied Jack.

On a small hill a little distance away, three figures observed the gathering with smiles on their faces.

"They've gone through so much already" said Figure 1 emotionally.

"I think I would've gone crazy if I gone through half as much as they did and we've met him three times already." Figure 2 said matter of factly.

"They're already proving their potential, give it a few years and they'll match anyone in the wizarding world. Maybe even surpass them. Let's go, we've got work to do, besides they'll need us again soon enough" Replied Samuel. "There are worse things than powerful pretenders out there and there are more unpredictable things out there as well."

The trio departed the hill and left to do some mercenary work. They had a whole lot of things to do but knew they'd be back soon enough.
