2 years has passed for Shiro. Now 12 years, he have been training day in and day out while getting visits from Elena, his future wife. He did dance with her during the night of the Harvest Moon festival in his caravan camp. However, those happy days are coming to an end. Tomorrow is Shiro's 13th birthday. The day Leon and Maria dread. Once Shiro is 13, then he must work for Rumple. It's part of the deal that Leon made. He looks outside and sees Shiro enjoying himself with the other gypsies. He let out a sigh and said "Shiro…I can't believe today's your last day being happy." Maria comes up to him and said "I know, my love." "So, what can we do?" asked Leon in a calm voice. "For now, let's enjoy this last day with him. It's the least we can do, Leon," said Maria as she holds back a tear. He hugs her tightly and nods. "Well, let's give him a day he'll never forget," said Leon. "Yes," said Maria, "but I must give him something." He nods as he heads outside to see Shiro. Maria heads to their bed and pulls out a book from under the bed. "I thought I never teach Shiro this. But…it will be something," said Maria as she blows the dust off the cover to reveal the title of the book called '101 Forbidden Gypsy Spells'.
As Leon was coming up to him, Shiro was busy playing his sitar in front of gypsy girls who are dancing to the beat. "I do say. You are getting better everyday, Shiro," said the girl with the ponytail. "Thank you. I'm been practicing every day," said Shiro with a smile. "Shiro…" said Leon as he came up to him. He turns to see Leon and asked "Father. Is there something wrong?" "My son…we need to talk. Alone," said Leon. "Oh dear. Must be serious. Ok, father," said Shiro as he gets up and follows him to the deeper parts of the forest to speak with him alone. The other gypsies wonder what could they be talking about. "I wonder what could it be?" asked one male Gypsy. "It could be a marriage arrangement," said the female Gypsy.
Shiro and Leon arrived to a quiet secluded part of the forest. "Are we hunting, father? Because this is kinda odd that we are the only ones hunting and not a group," said Shiro as he sits on a stump. "Actually, I heard to talk to you about tomorrow," said Leon. "Oh. My 13th birthday. I know, father. But what about it?" asked Shiro. He turns to him and said "There's something that Maria and I haven't told you." "About what?" asked Shiro. "It's about your birth. Your birth wasn't…natural," said Leon. "Really? Please explain," said Shiro as he looks at his father. "Well back before you were born, me and Maria have had a wonderful marriage. However we were trying to have a baby for many moons and we had no luck," said Leon. "That's terrible, father," said Shiro in a calm voice. "But everything change on that night. While we were alone and about to try again, we met a man named Rumplestilskin. Strange fellow. He said that he can help us with our dilemma if a deal is made," said Leon. "A deal? What kind of deal?" asked Shiro. "He will give us a child that we can raise as our own. In exchange for that, you must work with Rumplestilskin once you turn 13 which is tomorrow," said Leon in a calm voice. "So you mean that on 13th birthday, I must work for Rumplestilskin in order to pay off our debt?" asked Shiro. "Yes. I know I should go up against him but he is the Dark One and you should never go against the Dark One. Many have tried and many of them have failed," said Leon. "Well…if that's the case, I don't want any harm to befall on us, father," said Shiro. He turns to him and said "What are you saying my son?" "I saying that I will work for Rumple. Repaying the debt," said Shiro. "Are you sure, Shiro?" asked Leon. "Yes, father. I'm sure. I want my clan and my family safe," said Shiro. He chuckles and said "That's what I like to hear. Well, seeing that today's your last day being 12, let's go all out." "Now you're talking father," said Shiro with a grin as he gets up and he's back to camp with Leon. Unknown to them, Rumple was hiding in the bush and grins. "Oh ho…it looks like the little boy will soon be a man. Maybe I will give him an early birthday gift tonight," said Rumple with a chuckle.
Meanwhile at Dracula's Castle, Princess Elena, who is 12 years old herself, is sitting in her room with a tutor teaching her how to be a royal princess. His skin is ebony, his hair is jet black and his eyes are green. His clothing is a royal scholar outfit. "Princess Dracul, please pay close attention to your lesson. It's very important to you," said the tutor. "They are so boring! I've never been bored in my life. I know that this is important but I need to be free," said Elena. "True, but if you want to be a ruler one day, you must learn these lessons," said the tutor. Before Elena can say anything, the bell sounds in the castle. "Hmm…looks like the lessons are over for today, my Princess," said the tutor. "Freedom!" screamed Elena as she dashes out of her room. The tutor shakes his head and said "Why did I agree to this?" "Because it was part of our plan, my sweet Prince," said Mirage as she was coming from the shadows. "I know but that girl is so stubborn. How that Gypsy boy dealt with her I'll never know," said Prince as he massages his temples. "He must have a lot of resilient to deal with her, Prince. So any luck finding the item we need to find Aladdin & Jasmine?" "Well, I have been searching the castle for the item needed and I've found it. There's a room in the lower parts of the castle that has a viewing portal that we can use to find Aladdin. However, I count two guards guarding it and I have to find a way to get by them," said Prince in a calm voice. "I know. We will plan it tonight," said Mirage in a clam voice. "Understood. As for now, I need to rest," said Prince as he lays on the bed. She chuckles and said "And I thought that I was the only one who tired him out."
As Elena was running through the castle, can't wait to be next to Shiro's side, she bumps into a older man in royal clothing. His skin is very pale, his hair is blonde and his eyes are blue. He turns to her and smiles at her. "You need to watch where you going, Princess Dracul," said the man in a polite voice. "Sorry. It's just that I'm on my way to meet my friend," said Elena. "It's quite alright," he said in a calm voice. "Thank you, sir. Please excuse me but I have to go," said Elena as she bows at him and heads to her room. He chuckles and said "Ah to be so young, so pure…"
In Elena's room, she was getting dressed in her short black dress that she wears for only walking around town. "Oh I can't wait to see Shiro. I would have seen him more if it weren't for those lessons," said Elena as she was putting on her clothes. Once she gets dressed, she goes to window and open it. "I'm coming, Shiro," said Elena as she turns into a bat and flies to the caravan camp.
A few hours later, she arrives at the caravan camp, which is setting up for a big festival of sorts. "Hmm…I wonder what's going on here?" asked Elena as she flies to Shiro's caravan. Once she's there, she lands on the window and looks in it. She sees Shiro laying in his bed sleeping calmly. She uses her wings to crack open the window a bit to squeeze through and lands on his chest. She turns back into herself and snuggles up to him. "Mmmm…" said Elena as she closes her eyes. "So you're here, my wittle bat," said a soft voice. She opens her eyes and see Shiro awake. "Shiro!" screamed Elena as she kisses him, "I thought you was sleep." "I was, Elena. I just woke up," said Shiro as he rubs her cheek. She blushes deeply and said "O…oh. I see. Oh what is going around the camp?" asked Elena. "Oh. Well we are holding a festival for me. It's a celebration of my birth into this world," said Shiro. "So that's what it is. May I attend with you, my love?" asked Elena in a calm voice. "Sure. You can, Elena," said Shiro. "Yay!" screamed Elena as she hugs him tightly. He hugs her back just as Maria comes in to see them. "Shiro, my son. Leon needs you outside," said Maria. "Of course, mother," said Shiro as he gets up and heads outside. Once he left the room, she turns her and said "So Elena. You are going to attend our festival for my son?" asked Maria. "Y…yes. I do," said Elena with a smile. "That is good. Well, if you're going to attend this, you got to look the part," said Maria as she heads to a closet. She looks on and sees her brings out an Gypsy princess outfit. "Wow," said Elena. "This is my old Gypsy Princess outfit back when I was a young princess for my Leon. It was so magical," said Maria as she smiles sweetly. "It is so well preserved. Are you going to wear it?" asked Elena. "Oh no my dear. I can't. But you can," said Maria. "M…me? Are you sure?" asked Elena in a shocked voice. "Yes. You are his chosen future wife, no?" asked Maria. "Y…yes," said Elena as he face is turning red. She hands it to him and said "You can change here. I'll wait outside, Elena." She nods as Maria leaves the caravan. Elena blushes as she starts to undress.
Around the camp, many gypsies are having a ball. The musicians playing lively music, everyone is dancing to the music, and the cook is cooking a roasted boar on the open camp fire. Leon was looking on at the scene with a smile as Aldan comes up and offers him some spirits. "For you, old friend," said Aldan with a smile. "Thank you, Aldan," said Leon as he gets the drink and takes a few sips, "a bit strong." "You know it. Nice festival for your son," said Aldan as he takes another sip. He chuckles as he sees Shiro being surrounded by many girls and said "It seems Shiro is being a ladies' man, Aldan." "Takes after you, Leon," said Aldan while chuckling.
Shiro was being praised by many girls and he blushes deeply. "My prince. You look radiant," said the girl with the short auburn hair. "A wonderful party for a wonderful prince," said another girl with long black hair. "So strong," said the third girl with a long black hair in a pony tail. "Girls. I am graceful for this. But I need some breathing room," said Shiro. "Yes, girls. You need to let our prince have some air," said an elegant voice. The girls turn around and sees a beautiful Gypsy smiling. Her clothing is an elegant ruby outfit, brown shoes and brown gloves. Her flawless skin is olive, her blonde hair is in pigtails, and purple eyes. "Y…yes, Janirasa," said the girls as they back away as Shiro walks. "Thank you, Janirasa," said Shiro. "Anything for you, my prince," said Janirasa with a chuckle, "so have you selected someone to be your future wife?" "I have. My sweet friend Elena will be my future wife," said Shiro. "Really? Who is this Elena?" asked Janirasa as she looks into his eyes. Before he can answer that, Maria gets up and prepare to make a speech. "My fellow gypsies. I am so glad that you enjoying this festival on the honor of my son's birth. As you may not know, my son has been betrothed by a lovely princess who, by the way, is gracing our festival for my son. So, I give you the girl who would be my son's future mate, Princess Elena Dracul!" As if on cue, the door of the caravan opens and out comes Elena wearing an olden gypsy princess dress. Shiro looks at her and blushes deeply. "Wow…" said Shiro. Elena comes down from the caravan and goes to Shiro. She then bows at him and said "Hello, my future mate. I, Princess Elena Dracul, ask for your hand and having this dance." He holds her hand and said "I, Prince Shiro Kapoor, accept your hand and this dance, Princess Elena Dracul." Elena blushes deeply as she gets close to him. Maria pulls out her sitar and plays a song unique to only them call 'The Night Souls'. Once the music started playing, Elena and Shiro starts dancing to the music perfectly, adding their own dance moves. Everyone looked on and was impress by their dancing. "They are dancing so perfectly," said Maria with a smile as she keeps playing her sitar. Aldan smiles and said "It seems our future prince is having fun." In the woods, Rumple looks on smiling. Once the music stop, Elena and Shiro panting hard. "Wow…that's more intense than our song from my ball," said Elena who is still panting. "Yes…I know my love," said Shiro. Everyone is clapping on their brilliant performance. Rumple chuckles softly and said "Oh tonight I will make my meeting for you Shiro. As time passes on, Shiro enjoy his party with many of his friends and Elena. Getting many gifts, praise and offerings. Once the party is over, everyone was packing up. Shiro and Elena was holding each other's hands and are discussing something important. "Are you sure about this, Shiro?" asked Elena. "Yes. Tomorrow I'm going on a long journey. It's part of the Gypsy Way. Once an Gypsy is 13 years old, they have to go on a 7 year old journey to become one with nature. It's important," said Shiro. "I see. Well, I will wait for you, my love. Just please be safe," said Elena as she smiles softly. "I will, my love," said Shiro. They both look at each other and kisses sweetly. Once they break the kiss, she smiles as she turns into a bat and flies back to her castle home. Leon walks up to her and said "You told her about the journey huh?" "Yes, father. I wanted to not cause her to cry," said Shiro. "I understand. 7 years is a long time. You sure you might be able to make it back here within 7 years, son?" asked Leon. "I know I will, father. You once told me this simple saying. Never bet anything on fate. Always make your own luck. Am I wrong?" asked Shiro with a smile. He laugh softly and said "No, my son. You are right. Well let's get some sleep." He nods as they head to their caravan and get ready for sleep.
In Dracula's Castle, Elena lays in her bed of her room and sighs softly. "7 years...7 years..." said Elena as she looks at a picture of her and Shiro that was taken from her ball. She gets it and holds it close to her chest. "I will wait for you, my dear Shiro. I will remain yours," said Elena as she falls asleep. Little did Elena know, one of Dracula's spy bats was hanging from her room hidden and gather information. Once it got what it need, it sneaks out of her room and flies to Dracula.
It was late at night and everyone in the caravan camp is soundly asleep. In Leon's caravan, the Kapoor family is sleeping calmly. Except for Shiro who was still awake. "Can't believe that I'm leaving tomorrow...this is too much..." said Shiro in a soft voice. Just then he hears a bell rigning. He gets up and looks around for the direction of the bell. He then sees the door of the caravan open on it's own and the bell rings again. He put on his shoes and heads out of the caravan to find the bell. Once he's outside, he closes his eyes and uses his ears to find out where the bell is. Once the bell rang again, he opens his eyes and said "The woods!" He dashes into the forest to find the bell. As he keeps running, his wolf tail comes out and his senses are heighten. He can hear the bell more clearer and as he gets closer, the bell rings loudly. "Almost there..." said Shiro as he was getting closer. A few seconds later, he arrive at a clearing of the forest with a giant rock. "W...where is the bell?" said Shiro as he panting softly. "Isn't it a little late for you to be out late at night, dearie?" asked a voice with a soft chuckle. "Who said that?! Show yourself!" screamed Shiro. Coming out of the shadows is Rumplestilskin holding a silver bell. "Rumplestilskin," said Shiro. "Correct, dearie. It is so nice to finally meet you. And oh my, you have grown into a fine young boy," said Rumple with a snake like grin. He looks at the bell Rumple is holding and said "You lure me here. Why?" "To show your true abilites," said Rumple as he rings the bell. Just then, something inside Shiro started to awaken and his head starts to hurt. "M...my head..." said Shiro as he's holding his head. Rumple keeps ringing the bell, making Shiro's head pains worst. "S...stop it...it hurts..." said Shiro in a pained voice. "Don't worry. One more ring," said Rumple as he ring the bell one more time. Shiro let out a howl like a wolf. "There it is," said Rumple. Once Shiro finished howling he sees wolves come out and goes to him. He started to get nervous but see what the wolves will do. To his surprise, wolves nuzzle and lick his hands. "Good wolves," said Shiro as he gets on one knee and pet them gently. The wolves wags their tails and licks his face. "It seems they like you, dearie," said Rumple. "So it seems, Rumplestilskin," said Shiro. "Just call me Rumple. What is your name, dearie?" asked Rumple with a smile. "Oh. Well, my name is Shiro. Shiro Kapoor," said Shiro with a smile. "Ah yes. Prince Kapoor of the Gypsies," said Rumple as he bows at him. "So you are the one who made a deal with my parents," said Shiro. "That is correct, dearie. And thanks to that deal, you are here," said Rumple. "I see. But you want something in return yes?" asked Shiro in a calm voice. "Of course. They have to hold up their end of the deal," said Rumple. "Meaning that I must work for you," said Shiro. "Yes. You don't want anything bad happen to your parents right?" asked Rumple. "No. I don't want that," said Shiro as he keeps petting the wolves. "Good. Now, you must head back home. You don't want your parents worried where you are," said Rumple with a chuckle. "I will see you again, Rumple," said Shiro as he heads back home with the wolves and retire for the night.
The morning sun comes up, starting the brand new day. Many gypsies have playing music for Shiro's departure. In Leon & Maria's caravan, Shiro, who is now 13 years old, is wearing his traveling gypsy outfit with his bag filled with his notebook, pen, bottles of ink, medical herbs and his sitar. Maria comes up to him and said "This is a long journey and who knows what path you might take. But I want you to be careful and come home as soon as you can." "Don't worry, mother. I will be very careful," said Shiro as he gets his staff. "I know. Also here," said Maria as she hands him a book. He get the book and looks at it. "101 Forbidden Gypsy Spells...mother, why give me this book?" asked Shiro. "It's something you might need to aid you on your journey. Just be very sure to use it when you really need," said Maria. "I will, mother," said Shiro as he put the book in his bag. She hugs him and kisses his cheek. He hugs her back as Leon comes in and said "My son...it's time." He nods as he let her go and heads out of the caravan. Maria smiles as a tear runs down her cheek. "Farewell my son..." Once he is outside, the gypies prasing him. Some of them cheering, some of them crying and some holding the signs saying Come Back Soon, Our Prince. "Talk about a farewell parade," said Shiro with a chuckle. "Well it is for you, my son," said Leon with a chuckle. Just then, the gypsies went in to quieted fear as Rumplestilskin comes in with a snake like grin and looks at both Leon and Shiro. "Ah Leon...we have meet again," said Rumple. "Rumplestilskin...I see that the years have been kind to you," said Leon in a calm voice. "Indeed, Leon. Well, you know why I'm here," said Rumple. Before Leon can said anything, Shiro steps up and said "Rumple...you seems to be good at making deals." "Guilty as charged. You should know about that. Right, Janirasa?" asked Rumple as he looks at Janirasa which every gypsy look at her in surprise. "C...cousin! Don't put me on the spot," said Janirasa as she was blushing. "So, Janirasa is Rumple's cousin. Well, that's a shocker," said Leon. "Anyway, seeing that I'm honoring my parent's deal, I want to make a deal with you," said Shiro. Everyone look at Shiro as Rumple said "A deal? Well, aren't you a little young to be making deals?" "Scared that you won't take a deal of the 13 year old boy...dearie?" asked Shiro with a grin. Rumple chuckles softly and said "Well, why stop now? So what is this deal you want to have, Prince Shiro?" "I will honor my family's part of the deal and will work for you. In exchance, I want my family and my clan to be protected from any harm. If you can offer me that, then I will work for you," said Shiro. Everyone looks at Rumple as he ponders about this. This is the first time he had to think about something. As he was think, Leon leans in to Shiro and asked "You really think this is going to work, my son?" "To be honest, I'm hoping for that. Last thing I need is a ticked off Rumplestilskin getting back on you and mother," said Shiro in a calm voice. Rumple looks at him and said "Alright, boyo. I will honor your deal and free your parents from the debt. So, let's shake on it." Shiro heads to Rumple as many looks on. As Shiro keep walking to him, he looks at his clan who look at him. "Don't worry, everyone. Everything is going to be alright," said Shiro as he calm the gypsies down. As he stand in front of Rumple, he holds out his hand and said "So...it's a deal?" "Yes, Rumple. It's a deal," said Shiro as he shakes his hand, thus sealing the deal. As he finished shaking his hand, Shiro turns around to his clan and said "My fellow gypsies. I will be going away for a while. It will be a long journey for me and I won't be back for at least 7 years. But don't be sad. I will be back. My only request from you is to look after my parents and each other. Hold your heads up high and play the best music you possibly can. Praise our Earth Mother for blessing us with life everyday. I am Shiro Kapoor, the prince of gypsies and I will return!" The clan cheered proudly as they play their music and singing many gypsy songs. Shiro look at Leon and Maria smiling at them. He smiles at them as Rumple said "Heck of a way to go out, Shiro. So, ready to go?" "Yes, let's go," said Shiro. As he waves farewell to his family and clan, Shiro and Rumple starts heading on their way. As they are walking away from the caravan camp, Shiro closes his eyes and when he open them, his forest green eyes are gone and in it's place are yellow eyes. The birth of Shiro the Dark Wolf begins.
