Phineas, barely able to containhis excitement, bounds over to his sleeping parents, jumping on his father.
"Hey, Dad. Wake up! Dad!"
Lawerence doesn't respond.Phineas falls off the bed with an "umph".
Phineas says angrily,"You promised!"
Lawerence Finally wakes up,"Okay, okay. I'm up. I'm up."
Phineas exits the palace, followed by his parents.Lawerence and Phineas head up to their balcony.Lawerence and Phineas look out over the land.
Lawerence finally speaks,"Phineas, look.Everything the light touchesis our kingdom.A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king."
Phineas says in awe, "And this will all be mine?"
"Everything the light touches."
Phineas looks around, "Everything the light touches,What about that shadowy place?"
"That's beyond our borders. You must never go there, Phineas."
"But I thought a king can do whatever he wants."
"There's a lot more to being king than getting your way all the time."
"There's more?"
Lawerence chuckles as they walk down to the kingdom below them,"Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures -- from the crawling ant, to the peaceful deer.
"But, Dad, don't we eat deer from the palace hunters?
"Yes, Phineas. But let me explain. When we die, our bodies become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass. And so we're all connected in the great Circle of Life."
Soon Perry comes in and stops on a nearby rock, "Good morning, Sire!"
Lawerence smiles at his bird friend, "Good morning, Perry."
"Checking in with the morning report."
"Fire away!"
"The buzz from the bees is that, well the leopards are in a bit of a spot. The baboons are going ape. Of course. The tick birds were picking on the elephants. I told the elephants to forget it, but they ca—"
Phineas pushes Perry off the rock while him and Lawerence laugh. Soon a chihuahua named Pinky comes over to Perry, "Perry!"
"Yes?"
"News from the agents",Pinky whispers in Perry's ear.
"Sire, the henchman!In the Kingdom!"
Lawerence says in a serious voice,"Perry, take Phineas home."
"Aw, Dad, can't I come?"
"No, son."Lawerence runs off after that.
"I never get to go anywhere."
Perry pipes in trying to cheer the prince up,"Oh, Young Master, one day you will be king. Then you can chase those slobbering, mangy, stupid poachers from dawn until dusk."
