In the Griffin & Kryuger organization headquarters, located in Endfyld, hundreds of thousands of T-Dolls were being prepared and trained to fight humanity's enemies. OTs-14 had just returned with RPD and was intercepted by Helianthus who ordered her to follow her. They reached an elevator and went up to the immense office of the supreme commander and founder of the organization: Berezovich Kryuger. The man was standing, from behind, observing the immense bright screen on which he saw the videos of the T-Dolls during their exercises and carefully consulted their parameters to understand who had improved and who had not.
Kryuger had his cigar lit and he hadn't noticed that his secretary was behind him with OTs. The woman had to emulate a cough to catch Kryuger's attention. He turned slightly surprised and apologized to Helianthus.

" Forgive me, I had been watching our troops. " He saw OTs-14. " So you brought her. Good. Take a seat, OTs-14, I need to have a chat with you. "

OTs sat down in front of Kryuger's desk.

" Did I do something wrong? "

" You put your safety at risk with an operation that wasn't authorized by me or even by Helian. " He sat down and put out his cigar. " Can I know why? "

" With all due respect, Supreme Commander, I don't think I'm worth that much. There are at least another thousand like me. I'm an object, nothing more. If I die you can replace me. " She replied coldly.

" The pragmatism of this reasoning is commendable, however objects don't develop obsessions that lead them to commit suicide. I give orders and you execute orders. But when you act according to your will you create problems in the system, do you understand? "

" I'm here. Nothing else matters. "

Kryuger clicked a button on the digital keyboard to his right, a holographic screen appeared and names of different cities appeared on it.

" Berlin, Lyon, Hamburg, Lublin, Vilnius, Minsk, Kiev, Kaluga, Lucerne, Bern, Hanover, Dresden, Ostrava and finally Moscow. In these two years, you have taken advantage of our resources to travel and sneak into weapons and ammunition factories. Persica had warned me to let it go but you're exaggerating, OTs, that's a fact. I'm not an idiot, I was a general, I commanded troops on the battlefields and I know when my soldiers have problems and I don't like when they take me for a fool. " On the screen a video appeared in which OTs-14 was seen entering the factory in secret. It was recorded from above with the use of a night view.

" So, you were spying on me with drones. "

" We have been doing this for a long time. Can you explain what you hope to achieve with these your ... night raids? "

" I was created to kill. I only know how to take up this weapon, aim and shoot. I'm good at what I do and I do it better than a normal human, however I'm curious to know the origin of the rebellion. How did the war started? How did the Humandroids rebellion started? "

" And you hope to find the answers inside some factories? "

" The origin of everything, isn't it? That's the belly, it's the first chrysalis, and that's where I want to start investigating. But I think I have found a track. " She showed the device she had torn from the skull of the corpse. " This was controlling a dead body. It's not complicated to understand how it works, it's a graft that uses a system of metal arteries to control the body, every part of the body. But such a system is too complex to be installed overnight. The only conclusion I can reach is that it was already present in the victim's body and that it was activated when I entered the factory. Maybe it's some sort of defense system or something? "

Helianthus took the device out of OTs-14's hands.

" If you're born only to kill, kill. Don't ask questions about things that don't concern you. "

" So will I be punished? "

" Mr. Kryuger already has something in mind. "

" You will no longer be able to act independently. From now on you will be forbidden to leave the headquarters alone and above all if you dare to leave without having given a specific order you will be immediately dismantled. I hope I have been clear, OTs-14. " Kryuger said.

" Yes. Very clear, Supreme Commander. "

OTs-14 left the office. Helianthus sat where OTS used to be and left the device on Kryuger's desk.

" What do we do with this? "

" You already understood what it is, right? " Kryuger asked with a dark look.

" We're facing a problem. I never expected to see these parasites still around. What are we going to do? "

" I don't know. But OTs-14 must not continue those searches for any reason. Do what you have to do, Helian, I don't care what methods you'll use, have I been clear? "

" Yes, Mr. Kryuger. "

OTs-14 had just reached the dormitories and met some T-Dolls such as NTW-20, who offered her greetings before leaving for a mission together with NZ75 and Skorpion, she didn't return the greeting and went to her room, she typed the code, the door opened and entered. OTs lay down on the bed after placing her weapon and tried not to think about the order received from Kryuger, but she couldn't ignore it and yet in her heart she wanted to continue her investigations. Someone knocked on the door. OTs-14 heard Makarov's voice coming from the other side, she had been a friend of hers for a long time and didn't want to be mean with her and so she got up and opened the door at the push of a button.

" Sorry if I disturb you, Groza, but I'm a little hungry, I didn't have dinner, you weren't here and so I waited for you. Could you cook something for me? "

" I'm sorry, Makarov, I didn't mean to worry you. " She left the room and closed the door by entering another number on the keyboard. " Come on, now I'll make you something good to eat. "

" Hooray! " She cheered.

The girls went to the kitchen and OTs-14 asked Makarov:

" Did you talk to Nagant? She hasn't spoken to me for some time and although we have quarreled, I would still like to know if she's well. "

" She is… still convinced that you're wrong. She's fine but doesn't want to talk to you, she's willing, however, to change her mind if you admit that you're wrong. "

" Then she'll have to wait a long time. "

" But why did you quarrel? " Makarov asked curiously.

" During our last mission I had discovered a bunker that the Sangvis Ferris used to store weapons, the orders were to repel the enemy but I knew that we could seriously damage them by attacking those supplies. So I acted without Nagant's consent and she ... well, she got angry. "

"Mosin-Nagant doesn't like to contradict orders unlike you. " Makarov commented.

" I know. Orders are important but sometimes you have to act autonomously according to your skills. I know I'm good, I know I'm one of the best T-Dolls and therefore I can afford to disobey orders. "

" Well ... "

" Something wrong? "

" We all know the order the boss gave you. We know what you did tonight. "

" I have to thank RPD for this. If she hadn't hindered me, everything would have been as smooth as oil and now I have to receive this punishment as if I were a kind of child. " She said in an unnerved tone.

" Groza ... I know you're not getting much sleep lately. " Makarov said grabbing her friend by the jacket.

" What's going on? "

" Why do you want to know? "

" Because I'm your friend. "

" You and I, all of us T-Dolls, were created to kill the enemies of mankind, we're machines used by humans to kill other machines and we have been programmed to believe that humans deserve to be saved from extinction. But is this really right? "

" Groza, a moment! " Makarov exclaimed, frightened by those words. " What you're saying is terrible! You can't really think such a thing! "

" Maybe ... or maybe not. The only way I have to find out is to go back to the origin of everything. I have to find out how it all started to know who the real enemy is. Shooting is something anyone can do, but choosing who to shoot is difficult, however I must be able to make this choice, otherwise it wouldn't have made sense to equip myself with a conscience, right? "

" What if you were to find out that your real enemy is the human? " Makarov asked, worried.

" ... "

" Groza? Answer me. "

" I was born to kill. That's all. "

October 19

The T-Dolls OTs-14, Makarov, RPD and Mosin-Nagant were sent to Warsaw with the mission of repelling the Sangvis Ferri forces. Warsaw, in the past a beautiful and flourishing city, was now only a set of destroyed concrete bodies at the foot of which stood small barricades that delineated the areas inhabited by civilians who were brought to safety by the army while the Dolls were preparing to enter on the battlefield.
The helicopter landed and the four Dolls got ready to fight. RPD and Mosin-Nagant stood behind a pile of rubble and started shooting at the enemy army made up of hundreds of Vespid units who was rapidly approaching civilians; Makarov remained with OTs-14 that, after having removed the safety from the rifle, went into action entering the enemy ranks killing the targets with speed, firing precise shots and without being injured.
RPD managed to thin out the enemy ranks and signaled Makarov to follow OTs-14. Makarov was much more clumsy than her friend and becaus of this she killed only a few enemies, always remaining behind OTs who continued to mow victims; when the bullets ran out OTs-14 removed the empty magazine and kicked it against the head of a Vespid with such force that it exploded, quickly loaded the weapon and started firing again.
Mosin-Nagant and RPD managed to force hostile troops into two groups and by doing so they had no problem putting an end to the Sangvis Ferri offensive within fifteen minutes.

" There were one hundred and two Vespid-class units. Generally Sangvis Ferri employs fewer troops in its attacks. " OTs-14 commented " So how many more enemies should we expect later? "

" According to Helianthus, Alchemist is responsible for conducting the Sangvis Ferri operations. From what we know she barricaded herself in a communications center nine hundred meters from here, from there she leads the operations of Sangvis Ferri in Poland. " Explained RPD.

" So the order is to destroy the communications center, right? " Mosin-Nagant asked.

" In a nutshell yes. But we don't have to let our guard down, okay? The girls made their way to the goal. " By the way, OTs-14, avoid throwing yourself at the enemy with so much thoughtlessness, next time. "

" I promise that next time I'll go slower, it's certainly not my intention to end the fights too quickly. " She answered sarcastically.

" I say this for your sake. I don't want you to hurt yourself. "

" I'm fine, I don't need a nanny. "

" You heard? " Makarov asked. " In that building there, something moved. " She was pointing to an abandoned shop on her left.

" You don't have to worry, it's probably some civilian that ... "

" For safety it would be better to go and check. " RPD said stopping OTs-14 on purpose.

" Why do you want to make me waste time with these nonsense? It could even be just a mouse. " Exclaimed OTs, annoyed.

" You always act like this, without thinking, without planning, that's why you ended up in trouble, right? I believe it's right to discipline you. You're going to check with Nagant while Makarov and I stand guard. "

" Together with Mosin-Nagant ?! Tch! I'll be honest, RPD, you're acting like a bitch. " OTs-14 commented as she was already heading towards the shop.

Mosin-Nagant and OTs-14 entered the shop and started looking for what had caused the noise Makarov had mentioned. OTs-14 set her eyes on a bottle of wine that had not yet been uncorked, took it from the shelf and she said:

"Well, at least I'm gaining something." She turned and saw the barrel of Mosin-Nagant's rifle pointed at her forehead, OTs-14 remained motionless, Nagant was visibly nervous but had her finger on the trigger. " Do you want to shoot me, Nagant? "

" I can tolerate that you're stubborn and that you don't want to follow orders, you're an idiot, but I can tolerate it. However, I cannot accept that you question the people from whom we were built. Makarov has told me everything. So you want to betray humans? "

" You're asking me complicated questions at the wrong time. Aren't you really expecting answers, especially considering you're pointing a rifle at me? What will you do if I don't answer you? "

" You're going to answer me, Groza. "

" No, I'm not gonna do it. I don't owe you anything. I've always considered you a friend, but if you don't have a problem pointing a gun at me, obviously I was wrong. "

" I'm your friend but if you've been corrupted by Sangvis Ferri it's my duty to kill you. "

" I'm not corrupt, you can be sure of this, Nagant. Now lower that weapon. "

" You're not corrupt? Prove it, then. "

OTs-14, with a quick movement of legs kicked Mosin-Nagant's rifle disarming the girl and then, with the same speed, launched herself on Nagant and put her on the wall holding her still using her forearm and pressing on her throat.

" I already knew that you were keeping me under fire even before turning around, if I had been your enemy I would have killed you without hesitation. " With her teeth she uncorked the bottle of wine and took a sip. " Did you agree with RPD or something? "

" What? "

" It seems a bit 'too convenient situation for not being planned. Then? It's RPD's doing? Did you want to kill me or something? "

" You're worrying me, Groza. You're acting strange. What had you been doing in Moscow, in a factory full of the infected who had been massacred more than ten years ago? Why are you acting like you're hiding something? I can't understand you ... I thought we were friends ... I thought you trusted me and instead you act as if I were a stranger and you don't even want to apologize to me! Why are you doing thi- "

OTs-14 kissed Mosin-Nagant, she was amazed by that gesture but did not refuse her.

" I'm sorry, I was wrong. " Murmured OTs-14.

" Groza ... " Nagant was about to cry but OTs wiped her tears.

" You don't have to cry for me. Whatever happens to me, promise me you won't get killed to protect me. I consider you my most precious ally and therefore I need you not to ask questions. Please. I don't want to endanger you. "

" Okay, I'll do it for you ... idiot. "

" Thanks. " OTs-14 let go and moved away from Nagant.

" Groza, what was that kiss? " Nagant asked blushing. " What did it mean? Do you like me? "

OTs-14 turned and immediately noticed that the girl was trembling and that she was red as a tomato, her eyes shone like those of a princess full of hopes, anyone could have fulfilled those hopes, give in to love and say goodbye to all the rest, for this reason, OTs-14, after thinking about it in a minute of silence replied:

" No. "

" What? " Mosin-Nagant was shocked by that dry, cold like steel response. " You're kidding, aren't you? You're making fun of me, aren't you? And all those things you said before? All those things? Were you lying to me? "

" It must have been the wine. You know, wine makes you do strange things ... but I don't feel anything for you, Nagant. See? I'm not corrupt. "

Mosin-Nagant held back her tears, took up her rifle and without looking OTs-14 in the eyes replied, with a pained voice:

" No, you're not corrupt, you're worse ... you're yourself. "
