Dear Reader,
This is extremely important, so please read it.
A word before the beginning of this story: you should probably know that my OC—whose name you will soon discover—is a vampire. You should also know why because there's a very specific reason, or rather several specific reasons. So here goes.
Since she's going to, err... befriend... Abraham, aka the Horseman of Death, I wanted someone who could really be a challenge for him, someone who could actually beat him in a fight and be very difficult to kill; meaning someone who doesn't have to fear him—a big change for him. Now, that person would need superior speed and strength, hence she can't be human. After some thought, it struck me that a vampire is an undead: confronting an immortal undead with another immortal undead, who is most of the time also considered a monster… Why not? Unlike dear Bram however, my vampire is a rather decent, if quick-tempered, person—differences keep things interesting.
Besides, I think vampires would fit quite well into Sleepy Hollow's universe, but that's just a personal feeling...
When I first began this story, I used a Vampire Diaries vampire. I'm now rewriting it—or have rewritten it, depending on when you're reading this—and this time I've decided to use my imagination a little harder and to create my own kind of vampires. I'm planning on writing a book that features them, so let's call this a trial run, yes?
… Perhaps I should specify that they do not sparkle in the sunlight, or spend their time agonizing over whether or not they should date a fragile human.
I'm not going to list their characteristics here, you'll discover them as the story unfolds.
Now for the disclaimer: I don't own Sleepy Hollow's characters and plot. There. Now I don't have to repeat it at the beginning of each chapter…
Sorry if I made mistakes, English is not my native language. Of course, I welcome any constructive criticism, positive or not.
Enjoy!
