Author's Note: This fan fiction takes inspirations from the game Sunrider, but doesn't strictly follow the Sunrider's plot, setting, or lore. Since this is my first FanFiction, I would greatly appreciate if you end up liking my story.
This prologue starts by explaining the origin of Simon Shields and this alternative universe lore. There will be few changes to characters and settings, but unless I specify the changes; everything is the same.
I am still thinking about the pairings for this story, but I am not against the Harem route if I have to do it. I, however, still have my favorite and I am currently thinking about pairing my original character with Ava, Icari, and Sola. Those three heroines will be my main focus when it comes to romance. I might add more female love interests as the story develops, but I think that those three will be my main waifus.

Simon Shields was born from a prestigious military family in Cera in the year 470. His family rivals other prominent military family called Crescentia. Those two families had numerous arguments in the past as each family had different policies regarding Cera's future. It should be noted, however, that their disputes never jeopardize the safety and future of Cera. This is because their ancestors vowed before the collapse of the Holy Ryuyian Empire that no matter how divided the Cera has become, there will be no civil war among them. This unity is how Cera managed to survive the collapse of the Holy Ryuyian Empire. So while new organizations like Solar Alliance, New Empire (which later turned into PACT), and Ryuvia Empire (Remnant of Holy Ryuvia Empire) rose from the ashes of Holy Ryuvian Empire, Cera is the only organization that existed during Holy Ryuyian Empire and still survived to this day.
Anyway, sensing that the universe was once again about to enter another turmoil, two most prominent families in Cera: Shields and Crescentia family decided in year 488 that they need to be united into one in order to ensure that Cera will survive once again. The way they decided to do this was through engagement between heirs of two families, Simon Shields from Shields family and Ava Crescentia from Crescentia Family.
There were, of course, controversies behind this decision as there were doubts about whether this union will work as two families' stances were too different on many levels in the past. The only reason why this may work, however, is due to although two families fought against each other publicly, they didn't hold personal grudges as each of them knew that other family had the best intention in mind. That is how this engagement was possible to begin with as Simon and Ava were friendly enough to be childhood friends.
Anyway, while many people celebrated this union, others feared this union instead. This is because Cera was already the most powerful planet in Neutral Rim before, but this union would make Cera into superpowers like Solar Alliance and PACT as two families are no longer competing against each other. This greatly worried Solar Alliance and PACT as there is now a third faction that they couldn't ignore anymore. Even some planets in Neutral Rim Alliance were worried about this development as it would be clear that Cera would become the dominant leader of Neutral Rim Alliance instead of being a peer member of Neutral Rim Alliance.
The year is now 503 and Simon is 33 years old. He holds the rank of Commodore, a rank which is above captain, but below rear admiral. This is where the story begins.
