Midoriya hummed to himself as he examined the quirks of his students. Most of them were pretty decent, and they were actually pretty proficient in using them. The only reason they didn't get into the hero course was because most of the hero course students had stronger quirks, but that can be fixed easily with a bit more creative thinking on how to apply their quirks.

Not to mention, there was a child in his class that was also quirkless, also trying out for the hero course. He was proficient enough in hand to hand combat, though, and Midoriya swore he had never felt so proud in his life. Except maybe that time where Bakugou finally got his head out of his ass and apologized for bullying him all those years ago.

Since it was the first day of school, Midoriya dismissed his class early, and headed back to the teacher's lounge; he needed to do some quirk analysis, and a proper training plan. If he was going to get his class to get into the Hero Course through the Sports Festival, he was going to need a game plan; he had limited time, and limited facilities.

"Hey, Zuzu." Shinsou grinned, turning the corner and noticing the green haired man. Midoriya looked up, and grinned widely, "Hey, Hi-chan."

"So, how was your first day of teaching?" Shinsou casually slung his arm over the smaller man, and the greenette literally started vibrating on the spot, "It was awesome! My class was so obedient! And they actually like me as a teacher! Even though I'm quirkless! It's just really, really unexpected and I really thought I wouldn't be cut out for it because everyone's quirks keep getting better and -"

"Hold that thought." Shinsou gently shook Midoriya, cutting him out of his ramble, and Midoriya sheepishly scratched his head, "I guess I haven't kicked that habit yet, huh?"

"Yep." Shinsou nodded, popping the "p", "It's really cute, but please, you don't want to startle your class with your rambling."

"I suppose so." Midoriya sighed, and he pushed open the door to the teacher's lounge, finding Monoma lying face down on the couch.

"Hey, Monoma? You okay, man?" Shinsou walked over, and poked the blond in the shoulder, eliciting a groan from the copycat.

"What do you want?" Monoma whined, pushing his hand up, "Your class isn't better than mine!"

"Yeah, nothing's wrong with him." Uraraka gave a dry laugh, as she sieved through a couple of medical records with Todoroki, "He's been like that since he dismissed his class."

"I mean... we went over the new rules and regulations." Monoma groaned, pushing himself up into a sitting position, "They just implemented the new rules this year. They know that while they're place in the Hero Course is less at risk, there is still a huge chance that other students from other course would have a higher chance of moving up."

"Yep! The new rules give less directly offensive quirks a much higher chance of being recognized for heroics." Iida nodded, chopping his hands about, "They are also loosened some laws and restrictions, allowing more flexible quirk usage for self defense, so that is also great in allowing people to protect themselves without the need for a hero to be present! What you did really set a lot of things into motion, Midoriya!"

"I really didn't do anything..." Midoriya shook his head, and Shinsou let out a small chuckle, "Yeah, yeah, you didn't do anything at all, Zu."

"Hey!" Midoriya looked up at the taller lavender haired man and poked his cheek, "Don't act like you didn't help either, you willow tree!"

"Haa? What kind of nickname is that, Floof?" Shinsou snorted, more amused than insulted, "That's even worse than "Bush"! Have you never trash talked in your life?"

"Well, I am now, you insomniac cat." Midoriya retorted, though by the reddening of his cheeks, it was clear that even as dense and dopey as he was, even he could tell that it was a terrible insult.

"Yep, that's worse." Monoma shook his head, "We need to teach you how to trash talk."

"But really... there's no reason for it... right?" Midoriya sighed, "You make a plan, and you're already going to beat the villains up... why bother trash talking if you're going to beat them up immediately?"

"Well... quirk." Shinsou raised his hand, and Monoma just rolled his eyes, "Buying time to make a plan."

"... fair... I guess..." Midoriya gave a dry laugh, as Iida pulled up a page on his laptop, "Speaking of which, Midoriya... you are going to plan the events for the Sports Festival... right? Since it's coming up pretty soon -"

Midoriya let out an unholy screech, nearly blasting off everyone's eardrums, "I knew I was forgetting something this morning!"

"Jeez, if I didn't know better, I'd think you'd somehow taken Present Mic's Voice quirk." Shinsou groaned, rubbing his ears; he was right next to Midoriya, and as much as he enjoyed the broccoli man's presence, he really appreciated having his eardrums intact.

Midoriya just grumbled under his breath, "Drama queen."

Todoroki turned towards Uraraka, and softly whispered, "Is that their way of flirting? It is very different from what I've read up so far?"

Uraraka shrugged, and rolled her eyes, "I guess. I mean, they've been "flirting" like that ever since their second year! I have no idea how they managed to do that for ten whole years, and still not get the so very obvious hints that they like each other."

"Ah. Understood." Todoroki nodded, "I suppose this is considered an... "abnormal" way of flirting? I guess?"

"They're both smart, but they're really stupidly dumb at times." The brunette let out a soft, affectionate laugh, before she gazed at Midoriya, "Kind of hard to imagine that those two only met because Deku literally beat him up during the Sports Festival and they just ended up arguing a whole bunch and all of a sudden, they were all good and friendly."

"You had a crush on him, didn't you?" Todoroki bluntly asked.

"I thought I did. But I guess at the time, I couldn't tell the difference between growing closer to someone like a friend, rather than as family; Deku would always be my bright cheerful little brother. Yes, before you say anything, he is older than me, but seriously, just look at him." Uraraka nodded her head towards Midoriya, and Todoroki turned his head, noticing that Midoriya and Shinsou were arguing over something or another, while Monoma was just fueling the fire by adding in odd comments here and there.

Despite the heated debate between those two, they both left their guard down. There was absolutely no tension between them, like they knew that they were just talking and no matter what happened, it would never escalate to a fight.

There was no reason for them to be on guard.

"No, I'm telling you!" Midoriya waved his arms, "We can't just have robots! That's literally just the entrance exam all over again! All the flashy and directly offensive quirks would luck out! We need to even it out!"

"Hey, back in the day, you two got past the robots with no problem." Monoma added, "Shinsou didn't have an offensive quirk, heck, you yourself didn't even have a quirk in the first place! If they want to prove themselves, they'd need to make their own path."

"Yeah, but we need to give them a chance!" Midoriya groaned, but Shinsou just sighed, "Just get a tar pit or something."

"Hi-chan! That's too simplistic!" Midoriya whined, "We need more interesting obstacles. That giant chasm in our first year was cool... maybe if we altered it a bit..."

"I see your point." Todoroki dryly stated, as Iida narrowed his eyes at Shinsou and Midoriya, blinking, "Have they gotten together yet?"

"Nope." Uraraka shook her head, and the bespectacled man, sighed, "I thought you said that they made some progress when I took leave off secretary work to go on a vacation with my brother."

"I thought they did!" The brunette protested, "Deku told me that Shinsou crashed at his place because of some villain fight and his apartment was nearer, and Deku's living room was a mess so they just ended up sharing a room."

"Well... from what I've read on the internet, relationships shouldn't be rushed." Todoroki muttered.

"Roki. They've been dancing around each other for ten years. Ten whole freaking years. How do you even drag it out for that long?! They patrol the same area, they live relatively close by, and they even visit the same coffee shop whenever they have the same days off, as far as I know." Uraraka shook her head, "You'd think that one of them would slip up with how many opportunities they've got."

"Well, they're teaching at the same school now!" Nezu grinned, pushing the door of his office open.

Uraraka, Iida and Todoroki promptly turned around, and the brunette hissed, "You were eavesdropping?"

"Who's teaching at the same school?" Midoriya perked up, noticing that the principal had popped out of his office, and Nezu just waved, "Nothing much! Just talking about how teachers end up teaching in the same schools they graduated from!"

Midoriya just nodded, and while Shinsou seemed a little suspicious, it didn't take more than a couple of seconds until he was drawn back into another argument with the green haired boy over the fights in the third round of the Sports Festival.

Nezu turned back to the three staff members, smiling brightly, "Well, I'll leave that problem to you. Also, by the way, Aizawa and Mic will be coming over tomorrow. They have the day off their patrols, so they're probably going to pop in to check on your guys. Maybe Midnight too, if she can make it."

"Ah, should I make any special preparations?" Iida pushed his glasses up, ready to type up a couple of emails, but Nezu just laughed, "Nah. Maybe just grab that coffee that ridiculously bitter, dark coffee Aizawa likes, but I think Shinsou also takes the same kind, so that's not much of a problem. Anyways, have fun, don't mess anything up."
