A/N: Possible NSFW content to do with Akagi and some poor choices on her part in this chapter.

Part Two – Red vs Blue

"Kaga?"

We both turned our heads to see Akagi standing there, a watermelon in her hands, a mix of confusion, hurt, and a willingness to ignore what she was seeing in her red eyes that were getting slowly narrowed as she looked at the two of us, with Kaga on top.

Remember how I said there have been very few times in my life where I was well and truly afraid I was going to die, well this was another one of those times… strange to think how many of those times actually include Akagi…. But it was what happened next that sent a shiver down my spine… From my position, I note that Kaga still hasn't moved off of me, and I see this smile start at the edges of Akagi's mouth before she says, "How silly of Akagi to think that Kaga would be a threat to Akagi… Kaga must be holding Shikikan-sama to stop him from running away so that Akagi can make Shikikan-sama hers' finally."

I try to twist but I can't move, I keep forgetting just how much stronger that the Kansen are than humans, I look to Kaga and see her tails twitch and her hears flatten out backward as she says to Akagi, "Akagi, your eyes make you seem like you're hunting for prey... But Hound has made it clear he is not yours, or Taihou's or Roon's."

I look towards Akagi and see her eyes narrow into little lines, her lips tight as she wraps a strand of hair around a finger and questions, "Who is Hound? I only see Shikikan-sama…"

I feel Kaga's thighs tense against my sides, her hands moving to my chest to keep me pinned, I get the feeling that something seriously dangerous is going down, doubly so when I hear Akagi say, "But it would be silly to think that Kaga has laid claim to what is already Akagi's…"

I feel some air gets pushed out of my lungs as Kaga presses down on me, her tails flicking back and forth like crazy just before she says, "I think it would be foolish of Akagi to not consider what Shikikan would want… If Akagi is right in claiming that Shikikan is already hers', then why has nothing happened between them?"

I'm surprised to see Akagi at a loss for words for a moment, her tails flicking back and forth almost violently, she lifts the watermelon high above her head like she is going to throw it, just before red foxfire starts to swirl around her and her rigging appears, that burning red runway with foxfire lapping up at the edges, while she snarls out, "Nagato was a fool for force you to become an aircraft carrier… you should've been scrapped like your worthless sister Tosa…"

That seems to draw something out of Kaga, I see blue foxfire swirl around her and me, her own rigging appearing as she snarls out, "And I wish you had been scrapped so that Amagi could've lived…. Nagato made a foolish choice in keeping you."

I see Akagi throws the watermelon down between her and Kaga before she launches some of those red paper planes she has right at us, Kaga wastes no time in returning the gesture by launching her own, me? Well, I stay on the ground for a few moments and watch as the paper planes collide with each other in purple explosions. As I finally get off my towel I notice that Kaga is moving to keep herself between me and Akagi. This clearly wasn't lost on Akagi as she huffed out, "We will continue this another time, sister…"

I see her toss more paper planes to the sand to kick some of it up and block our vision when the sand finally clears Akagi is out of sight and I see Kaga's shoulders slump and her head lower as her shoulders start to tremble, I think something really, really bad just happened. I place a hand on her shoulder and ask, "Are you okay?"

I see her head shake back and forth before she banishes her rigging in a blaze of blue foxfire, I see her take a deep breath before looking over her shoulder at me and saying, "I need to find somewhere else to sleep… Akagi might try and kill me in my sleep now."

"I don't think…" I was about to say when I saw the look in her blue eyes and she shook her head before telling me, "You don't understand Akagi… she is very much obsessed with the idea of you being with her, and I have just shattered that idea because I didn't like what she was suggesting."

"Well thank you for defending me, but is it worth trading away the harmony between you and Akagi?" I ask her.

I see and hear her sigh before she says, "Harmony between me and Akagi is forced at best, I do not like her much as a person… but we drilled with each other for so long it is hard to not work harmoniously with each other."

I nod, not really understanding… then again I've not really been one to pry into the inner workings of the various fleets here, mostly if they work well together then great! If not well then I try to find a way to get them a team to work with. I look at Kaga and see her tails are pointing down while her ears are sideways on her head, she really does look sad right now, I think about how I've got huge quarters with spare rooms and I shrug before I offer to her, "I've got some spare rooms, you're welcome to take one…"

I bite my tongue to keep from laughing I can see her ears struggling with perking up and I feel her tails swing back and forth, slightly like she's trying not to wag them, maybe she's easier to read than I first thought... then again I now know what to look for…

The next morning I awoke to a smell emanating from my kitchen... almost like something is on fire… I roll out of bed and sprint down there, the only thing that should be on should be a coffee pot… As I slide across the floor and into the kitchen I see something that is a sight I will remember for the rest of my days… I see a white-haired kitsune in one of my t-shirts standing at my stove, her white tails poking out the bottom of the shirt, flicking back and forth while she cruses in her native tongue at the cookware that I guess is not cooperating with her intent. After a few more minutes I watch as she takes the pan off the stove and tosses it into the sink before going over to one of the cupboards and bending at her hips to look into it. I get a full view of what she had down there, apparently, she had forgone undergarments this morning, I see one of her ears twitch moments before she places a hand to cover herself from behind and she goes to spin around to face me and clocks her head against the door of the cupboard and collapses down to her knees holding her head as she curses again.

As she's sitting on the floor holding her head, I can see that she looks extremely embarrassed, though I'm not sure if it's over an inability to make something to eat with western style cookware, being caught in a compromising position and state of dress or being caught doing something very clumsy. I walk over to the freezer and take out an ice pack as I press it against her head she takes away her hand before placing it back on the ice pack as she tells me, "Sorry… I ruined breakfast…"

I sigh, as I look in the sink and see the pan isn't ruined, just the contents, I stand and close the cupboard before going to the pantry where I keep the bread, then to the fridge to get out bacon as I ask her, "Do you like eggs?"

"I'm the guest and a woman; it is my duty to make breakfast…." She starts to protest.

I sigh and get out eggs as well before heading over to the stove, getting out a new large pan and putting in some bacon as I tell her, "Well in the west, it's the duty of the host to provide meals. As for it being a gender role, well, no."

As the bacon starts to crisp on one side I give it a flip, before I put toast in the toaster, just as I turn back to face the stove, I see Kaga hop up to sit on the counter, she's keeping a hand between her legs, holding the shirt down to prevent any chance of me seeing up it. I see that she's watching the pan carefully like she's studying how I make this. Once the smell of the bacon crisping up on the second side starts, I reach behind me and put the toast down then I reach for the butter and put some knobs of it into the pan and swirl it around to get it good and frothy before I crack four eggs in. I see her close her eyes for an instant and sniff at the smells while her ears angle towards it, I watch as the whites start to solidify around the yokes and I give them a gentle roll over just as the toast pops I take the pan off the heat and butter the toast. Once that's done I remove the eggs and place them on the toast with two strips of bacon each over top. I carry both plates to the table and ask her, "Can you grab a couple of forks and knives from the drawer by your feet?"

I watch as she spreads her legs apart, still using that one hand to keep the shirt pulled down as she looks in there and picks out the requested items before closing it and slipping off the counter to join me at the table. I see her studying how I hold my fork and knife and she tries to mimic it, I watch as she cuts into the egg and runny yolk pours over everything, the look of surprise on her face is priceless, the sheer wonder at it and I tell her, "It took me a while to get good at making easy over eggs… they're nothing special, but it's a good way to start your morning."

I watch as she takes her first bite, the look of bliss on her face brings a smile to my face as she says, "Oishī!"

This was one the first time I would get to see Kaga like this, not showing how tough and hard she can be, but how soft she was under it all, how deep down she was just a girl. I lean back in my chair and ask, "Kaga, I know that you've got one bathing suit, and one change of clothes… do you want me to assign someone to go with you to retrieve some clothing from your dorm, just on the off chance Akagi would try something?"

I see her put her fork and knife down, in time with her ears flatting out to the side and she sighs before nodding and saying, "I hate to admit it, but I think that'd be best… Akagi is opportunistic and wouldn't be above striking at me when my back is turned while I pack."

I sip some coffee and smirk before asking, "I could really stir the pot and send the Yorktown sisters…."

I see her start to giggle; Kaga can actually giggle, after a moment she nods in acceptance of my suggestion.

Almost a month had gone by before I knew it, and in that time I learned things about Kansen that I had no idea about… I knew they had to eat, sleep, shower… I knew they had sex drives, but I hadn't known about just how human they are in terms of biological monthly needs… That was an eye-opener…

Anyways I'm sparling off on a tangent right now… where was I? Oh! Right, about a month had gone by and I've got a house guest, since the beach nothing has happened between myself and Kaga. We're more than friends at this point, but not lovers. Like she'll sit beside me on the couch, if there is something she finds interesting on the TV, I've noticed that she seems to like nature shows along the lines of the wild kingdom.

Sometimes she'll even rub up against me, if I didn't know better I'd say almost like she was marking her territory with her scent, yet other times she'll try to be as far away from me as possible with little rhyme or reason to which is going to happen that day. I never really knew that Kaga could be so flighty, it's at odds with the person she usually presents, cool, calm, calculating… rather the Kaga I get to see is indecisive and kind of a dork sometimes…. It is actually kind of cute and endearing…

As I was saying about a month after Kaga moved in, I was in my office, a little before six bells about to ring when I hear a knock at my door, so naturally, I call out, "Enter."

I was not prepared for what happened in my office next. I saw Akagi walk in, seemingly in a decent enough mood; her tails weren't flicking back and forth, her ears were up… She comes around the side of my desk and straddles my lap, facing me, sniffing me, looking for a scent I guess. I feel her lips on my neck before she whispers to me, "Am I beautiful, Shikikan-sama?"

Before I can respond I feel her start to grind her crotch against mine as she takes my hands and slides them up to her bust, down her sides, and onto her rear as she moans and rubs herself harder against me. When her hands let go of mine, I feel her hands slide down my pants to undo my zipper and as starts to stroke me while she slips a hand under her skirt as she tells me, "Shikikan-sama... With this, nothing will get between us ever again... Your embrace, your smile, your scent... all belong to me."

I can feel her dampness against me, it's stunning and intoxicating, I summon what little willpower I've got right now and moved my hands to her shoulders and shove her back, she looks surprised to see that I didn't let her have her way, I put myself back into my pants as I tell her, "Akagi, I'm going to overlook this, once."

I see this look in her eyes that sends a chill down my spine, her tone gets almost dangerous as she picks herself up off the floor as she tells me, "Shikikan-sama belongs to Akagi and only Akagi. Shikikan-sama would do well to remember that…"

I run a hand down my face, I was really getting tired of this crap, "Akagi should do well to remember that I belong to on-one."

I see her eyes narrow at me before her tails start to flick back and forth, her ears point backward and I get a sinking feeling in my gut and I spot behind her some white fox ears before I hear a voice that makes me feel like I'm saved, "Akagi, I think it would be best if you leave now."

Akagi spin to look at the voice, she snarls at her, "Kaga, you are running my time with Shikikan-sama…"

Kaga puts her hands on her hips and leans forward, her tails flicking back and forth, and her ears point backward as she says, "Shikikan has made it clear Akagi, he doesn't belong to you…"

I can see Akagi's tails start flicking back and forth, violently before she puts her hands on her hips and leans forward before she says with a touch of surprise, "I can smell Shikikan-sama on you Kaga… what have you been doing?"

I start to think, all she's done is stay in a spare room, taken to wearing one of my tee-shirts as a nightgown… using my laundry soap... I go to say something, but Kaga puts up her hand to tell me to stay out of this before she says to Akagi, "That is for me to know and not you."

I hear Akagi hiss out at Kaga, "You never understand when to stay out of other people's affairs."

Kaga gives a dismissive laugh as she taunts, "Akagi if you drove your nose any more into Shikikan's business, your nose would be brown."

I blink a couple of times and I process that what Kaga just said, apparently Akagi understood almost right away before she snarled out in her native tongue, "Anata wa nanimonodesu ka? Netchū no meinu, ima?"

I sense whatever was just said there pushed a button on Kaga as she reached out and shoved Akagi as she hollered back at her, "Sukunakutomo watashi wa kare ga watashi ni kyōmi o motte iru koto o shitte imasu, anata wa orokana meinudesu!"

Akagi seems surprised by the physical contact and summons her rigging, and Kaga responds in kind, Kaga for her part seems to get herself under control again, rather quickly as she tells her, "Akagi, I think it would be best if you left right now and take time to think on your actions…"

Akagi seems about ready to strike at Kaga, even had some of those paper planes in her right hand, fanned out like she was ready to toss them before she looked at me out of the corner of her left eye and said, "If Shikikan-sama was cut up into little pieces, he would never be able to leave Akagi's side or break her heart ever again…"

After saying that Akagi walked forward and shoulder checked into Kaga as she said to her, "Hōmurekkinguhō"

I wait a few moments to be sure that Akagi is gone before I ask Kaga, "Are you okay?"

I see her let out a breath and hang her head before she looks at me, with all dead seriousness as she says, "We might have to kill Akagi…"

I blink a few times and ask, "Are you serious?"

She shrugs, "I'd like to think that'd be the last resort, but it's a very real possibility… She threatened your life Hound."

I sigh and go to my drink caddy and pour out a drink before flopping down on my couch and I lean my head back against the couch as I say, "If only that was all that happened tonight…"

Kaga comes and sits next to me, her features looking at me as she asks, "What else occurred?"

I sigh; it's a little embarrassing to admit as a guy, mostly since no-one really believes it can happen to men… I lean forward and run my thumbs around the rim of my glass as I tell her, "She tried to force me to have sex with her…"

Kaga nods as she says, "Akagi isn't used to not getting her way…"

I laugh and say, "I noticed… but why did you egg her on when you didn't tell her what is actually going on at home?"

I see her blush at this point before she tells me, "You said to me that you do not want a mate that does not depend on you for everything… and right now I depend on you for food and shelter…"

I nod, now it makes sense, she wants something more but is feeling conflicted between what she wants and what I told her I don't want. After a moment I speak to her, "When I said that Kaga, what I meant was, I didn't want someone that depended on me for their happiness. I want someone that can be perfectly happy with who they are, they don't need me to feel complete as a person."

I see her nod, her ears flop forward and she gives off this really cute embarrassed look as she says, "I'm such an idiot…"

I laugh and place an arm around her shoulders and pull her close before I lean my cheek on the top of her head as I tell her, "Yeah, yeah you can be… but you're cute when it happens."

Out of the corner of my eye, I see the hit of a smile at the edges of her lips, before she turns her head into the nape of my neck and playfully nips me there before kissing it. I slide my arm down her back to the base of her tails causing her to give a little yelp of surprise when I touch the base of them.

We walked back to my quarters that night, hand in hand, it felt nice to hold her hand, and I think we were both a little embarrassed to be doing that out in public, but thinking back on it now, I don't think I had anything to be embarrassed about, this had been the second time she had saved my hide with Akagi and if I were, to be honest, it wouldn't be the last time either.

When we got back to my quarters, we both went upstairs to our rooms, we looked at each other from down the hall, something unsaid between us was said that night, something that I think was really important. As I walked into my room, I put my uniform away and grab a shower as I process what happened in my office, I lean my head against the wall of my shower and close my eyes and think about how much I was started to depend on Kaga, how much I was enjoying having her around.

I open my eyes and finish drying off when I hear a knock at my bedroom door, I wrap the towel around my waist and head out to open my door to see Kaga standing there, in my tee-shirt, her cheeks red and she looks like she wants to say something, before she closes her mouth before going to speak, "I have so much I want to say, but I forget it all the moment I see your face..."

I smile at her and lean my head into her personal space and after a moment I see her blush as she asks, "Wha… what are you doing?"

I grin and kiss her, it's almost instant when she kisses back, I slip an arm around her waist and pull her close into me when the kiss breaks and I whisper into her ear, "Do you want to come in?"

I hear her breathlessly whisper in my ear, "Very much."

I let go of her and watch as she walks into my room, she starts to go around, looking at the things I've placed in my room, the books, pictures of people or places I've been, even the little model of the fighter plane I used to fly, I see her sniffing the air as she looks around and I tilt my head and she answers for me, "I don't smell any lingering scents of women in here…"

I shrug and say, "If you did, I'd be worried… I haven't been with anyone since I took over here last year."

I see her bob her head up and down before she turns away from me and pulls my shirt over her head, exposing her nude back and underwear and I finally get my answer as to where the tails link into her body, the small of her back, right above her backside. She gives me this shy smile over her shoulder before she pulls the covers back on my bed and slips under them, only leaving her tails exposed out of the bedding as she asks me, "Are you going to join me?"
